ENTERTAINMENT LAWYER 04/15 **14** The Quiet Casting Couch: It isn't as if this permanent A lister has never talked about their casting couch. They have, but in a very opaque way. You always have to read between the lines when it comes to the A lister about their sex life. Because of the nature of the A lister's profession, they got to choose who worked for them. They held the auditions. They could choose to hire and fire at will whoever they wanted. At first, our A lister was just sleeping with long familiar people they knew, but that changed over time. It became the responsibility of the people who worked for her to offer up someone to have sex with if they wanted to keep their job. They had to do so once a year. It was OK if the A lister didn't like them, they just had to have someone they were offering. Things were good if you did that. The people being offered were fully aware that if they were chosen, they were going to have a great life. Our A lister, even if you were with them, just for a year, would take care of you for the rest of your life. The only thing you had to do was be available and keep it all a secret. Every so often, someone decided they were not going to keep the secret. After a visit from a couple of the A lister's friends, their attitude was changed. The sex drive of our A lister has slowed, but they are always on the lookout for someone new.

Source: 1440 'Rust' Armorer Sentenced Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the armorer who handled the weapons on the set of the Western film "Rust," was sentenced to 18 months in prison yesterday for the October 2021 shooting death of the film's cinematographer, Halyna Hutchins. Gutierrez-Reed, 27, was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter by a New Mexico jury in March for erroneously putting a live round into a prop gun (see 101). Alec Baldwin, the film's star and coproducer, fired the loaded weapon during rehearsal, shooting the 42-year-old Hutchins. Baldwin, 66, faces his own trial July 10 on an involuntary manslaughter charge for which he has pleaded not guilty. Attorneys for Gutierrez-Reed plan to file an appeal. The defense argued the armorer was not given enough time to check the weapon and that Baldwin was reckless with the prop. Prosecutors argued Gutierrez-Reed failed to take accountability in her role, pointing to her recorded conversations from jail, where she has been held for the past month.

I'm not sure I could make it through. Last year, I read Jennette McCurdy's I'm Glad My Mom Died and wow, barely made it through that (which is both more broad AND more narrow than the Quiet on the Set documentary, of course, though linked). I've also heard it's extremely well done, so I'll probably try sometime.

Has anyone watched this? I think most of the revelations are things that we, and people who pay attention to Hollywood gossip, aren’t really surprised by. But it’s still shocking to see it all in one place like that.

They really did because, while I think everyone spent a few minutes going huh, I wonder what kind of surgery she had - it didn’t really get nuts until William missed the memorial service and they put out the messed up picture. Then people really started going backwards and building it up. The PR team lost the plot there. They didn’t even need to say what was wrong with her. They just needed to say something real. I think a lot of people knew from the get that there was probably something relatively serious going on and if they had just said look they have little kids they want to take some time to find out what’s going on so they can explain it well to their kids, anything - anything real feeling probably would’ve stopped this. The speculation about what she had would’ve been there but not the crazy conspiracy theories. I think in general, the bulk of the population is still very sensitive to Diana’s boys and not wanting to repeat history with those children They could have done the bare minimum to get the sympathy and cooperation of 99% of the public. The crackpots will always be there I don’t know exactly the right way to do that, but I don’t get paid to either, and at that level, those people should be much better than this. All of that being said, I do hope that history doesn’t repeat itself for those kids. I hope whatever happens, William remembers how he was handled and does better for his kids. I guess maybe this was his effort to do so? Maybe he tied the hands of the PR people? I don’t know. I just know it was not done well.

Readers in the comment sections sense this, so whip themselves up into a fury that they are either being told too much – or not enough. Add in the unregulated social media sleuths who can speculate with impunity in a way that the papers can't – occasionally hitting an indisputable bullseye, like with this week's dodgy photo – and you have a perfect storm. The Photoshop fiasco has shown the serious shortcomings of the modern relationship between the monarchy and the media. And if the public ever do get wind of just how much the Royals have been holding back from them these last few years, then they might properly be screwed.

She’s looked painfully thin for a while. Maybe she had IBS or colitis or something. Maybe she had bowel surgery and has a bag (even temporarily) but all of those “worst case, but really is health” situations just don’t negate a carefully staged photo.

Yep, at this point (65 days since she was seen?) there is SOMETHING going on - either she refuses or she absolutely cannot be seen. I don't know what I believe right now. But I don't believe she had a normal surgery with recovery - I think there's a mental health component, a legal component (did Will hurt her? Or is she negotiating her divorce?) etc....

This is one of those times that I think there’s fire through all of that smoke. This feels like kind of a significant thing to miss. It’s totally weird that she hasn’t been even propped up for a photo in two full months. Maybe she feels like crap, but a proof of life photo… the Queen was taking photos literally hours before her actual death. They are very aware of the rumors and the fact that they haven’t even come out with a staged photo reading a book to the kids while lying in bed or something is sketch. I’m not sure what’s happening, but it’s not nothing.
