Baby Sussex I love that she still looks pregnant. It is like she is one of us. My mom said I looked more pregnant after giving birth ? They look so happy ??

My understanding (very tenuous) is that grandchildren of the monarch are entitled to be styled Prince/Princess but Edward and Anne declined for their children. George, as the heir is entitled but Charlotte and Louis are not. However before George was born the queen extended that courtesy to all of Williams kids as they are the kids of the heir. Not sure what happens after Charles takes over. I think having so many generations of heirs is confusing protocol! google agrees with me except that it’s only grandchildren of the male line, but I’m pretty sure the Queen offered it for Anne’s kids and she said no. The part about William’s kids is relevant because once the succession rules were changed (before George was born) he could have been a girl, heir to the throne, but not a princess. . For the most part, the titles and styles of a Monarch’s descendants are determined by the Letters Patent issued by King George V in 1917. Under these LPs, the style of ‘Royal Highness’ and title of ‘Prince/Princess’ is granted to: children of the monarch grandchildren in the male line the eldest son of the eldest son of the Prince of Wales Several additional LPs have been issued since then, which make some alterations to the original LPs: 1948 – King George VI issued LPs declaring that all children of then-Princess Elizabeth would be styled as HRH and titled as Prince/Princess. Without these LPs, Charles and Anne would not have become HRH until The Queen’s accession in 1952. Instead, they would have been styled as children of a Duke. Charles would have been Charles Mountbatten, Earl of Merioneth (using his father’s most senior subsidiary title by courtesy), and Anne would have been Lady Anne Mountbatten. 1957 – Queen Elizabeth II issued LPs creating her husband a Prince of the United Kingdom. Until that point, he was merely HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, and not ‘Prince Philip’ as the media often referred to him. 2012 – Queen Elizabeth II issued LPs declaring that all children of the eldest son of the Prince of Wales would be styled as HRH, with the title Prince/Princess. While this had no effect on Prince George, who was already entitled as the eldest son of the eldest son of the Prince of Wales, it did affect his younger sister Princess Charlotte. Were it not for these LPs, Charlotte would be styled Lady Charlotte Mountbatten-Windsor until her grandfather became King.

OK, I like Archie almost as much as Freddy ;-) And some journalists are being careful to note "no courtesy titles, as requested" for those who hadn't heard and want to be offended on behalf of the Sussexes ;-)

I hope that even though Jamie and Lynne are not cordial, they will figure this out together. Britney is the end game, and I find it hard to believe that Lynne does not appreciate what Jamie has done. My parents did everything in their power to not talk to one another after their divorce. However, when it came to matters of my brother and me - united front. We knew we were doomed when Mom and Dad had to talk to us. But it worked! Thankfully we are both not menaces to society ? (most days)

Sorry for the duplicate post. The site is being weird. Princess, Mountbatten-Windsor is the (I guess unofficial?) last name of Queen Elizabeth’s family. Mountbatten for Philip and Windsor for her. I’m digging deep into my Duran Duran era Anglophilia today.

Hmm, I had read Edward will get PHILLIP's titles when he dies (eg Duke of Edinburgh). Not Charles. Of course, Prince of Wales will go to William, but Charles has other titles.... I believe that Charlotte would be a Princess Royal (like Margaret & Anne) when William is King? Or is that only if you're born WHILE your parent is a monarch? Hmm. I need to do more research too! Oh, no - Margaret was born when he father was "just" Duke of York (I can't remember exactly when Anne was born, before or after Elizabeth came to the throne), so it must just be the daughter of the monarch who gets the title....

I researched last night a little. Edward is suppose to get Charles’ titles when he is King and therefore he is only an Earl currently. Thus his children are titled from his title. I also found out even though the Queen changed the rule that first born regardless of sex may be Monarch, title is only earned through a male. So Anne’s children would have to be given titles by the Queen since they do not have any birthrighted to them. In super long term, this means Charlotte’s children will not have titles but George and Louis’ children will.

Outside instigator makes a LOT of sense. I wonder if Lynne was worried that because Jamie was (is?) sick, he hasn't been able to be as vigilant over Britney and that's one reason she's struggling? I hate TMZ (they are SO misogynistic!) so it's hard to know what's really going on from their coverage.

Princess Anne refused (however one puts that diplomatically to one's mother, The Queen) titles for her children. I had read Harry has done the same. I think for Eugenie & Beatrice, it's because their father uses Prince Andrew, while Edward's kids get their titles from his Earl of Wessex title? But not sure. Because Andrew is also Duke of York so a Duke's son would usually have a Viscountancy or Marquisate to call on for a courtesy title. But daughters don't usually have those titles, so they're just Lady First Name. I'm very curious now and interested in the explanation!!!

I remember seeing something that Princess Anne refused to title her children. No idea about the Andrew/Edward thing. Maybe because of their birth order? Let me look...

The way I read between the lines, her Dad is in charge of the conservatorship. This is decided by a judge, often they actually pick independent 3rd party people to be in charge of it. It's not taken lightly. The Dad also has to report to the judge every 3? months, so it's not like he has unlimited power. Anything he does has to be to Brit's benefit, not his own. At least I know this is how it works in California. The books are audited and he has to do all kinds of crappy paperwork being in charge of the conservatorship. In terms of what meds Brit is trying, most people go with the professional doc advice. That is their job. With Brit being in conservatorship, if her Dad tried to change that he would have to answer to the judge why he was making decisions that conflict with the doc. The judge prob will get reports directly from docs, especially if she is this unstable. Sounds to me like the mother wants to know what is going on with her daughter's medical treatment. With HIPAA Privacy Rules, this is not something that can be released without permission. As Brit is in a conservatorship and not allowed to make her own decisions, sounds like the Dad will let the judge decide instead of telling the mom to fuck off. If she hasn't been a part of her treatment all this time and she has not been close to Brit in years, sounds like the right call.

hmm I'm really conflicted about this. Easy for us all to judge without a full understanding of her heath and history....but then again awful to think it might be true. If it's true her dad is a shit and if it's not true her mom is a shit for contributing to the gossip. Poor Brit...
