I agree that the schools will be closed for longer. Just looking at the countries that were hit first. A lot of the kids are still out of school. I don’t know if I can survive being trapped in the house with my kids for that long. ?

Finally being an ex-girl scout and "always be prepared" has paid off! However some of my friends/family have been caught unawares. Went to my local Vons store and scored 2 packages of TP early this morning. Can't tell you how many people I saw leaving that ignored the limit 2 request, I'm sure they sold out within hours of opening this morning. Was told they had line outside waiting when they opened at 6 am (I was there about 7). Have one friend coming by my house later today to pick up one package (family of 4 and they almost out!) but no one else asked for 2nd package yet.

The good news about being a low-level prepper (for weather.emergencies!!) is that my house is fine to go for a couple weeks without any stocking up. And considering I was worried about covid-19 back in late Jan, I've been stocked for this quarantine since mid to late Feb and am not caught without rice, beans, or tp. Phew! Work hasn't told us to work from home yet, though I open my email expecting it every time!

Before the end of the day yesterday, our school district announced a closure until March 30. I think reopening so soon will be optimistic but who knows. I'm finding it hard to remain optimistic right now in general.

As soon as they said coronavirus is not only airborne but also likely stays in the air after the infected person has left, I knew there was no way it wasn’t going to spread. That makes it more like measles than the flu and we all know how contagious measles is, well all of us except anti-vaxxers. The latest research says it stays in the air for up to three hours like measles. I don’t think it was ever going to be fully contained due to how contagious it is and the fact that most cases are “mild”. That said, this thing could have been slowed down had we not had an incompetent buffoon in the White House. We need widespread, affordable testing and sick pay for anyone that needs to be quarantined. There are disincentives for behaviors that would help prevent the spread, which is really scary.

25 years is arguably too short a sentence for his crimes. That said, I am thankful that he got anything at all given the very real possibility of a mistrial if the leaks of the questions the jury were asking are to be believed. I'm not holding my breath that the L.A. County charges will tack too much more on to his overall sentence if he's also convicted there. I can't imagine that there's too much incentive for any additional sentence to run concurrently, but the disconnect between time sentenced and time served in that jurisdiction is pretty great. Still, a good day.

All schools in Ohio are closed for at least 3 week. No baseball, basketball, hockey, or soccer. No gathering of more then 100 people. I think that is the number. Went from 0 to 15 in 3 days
