    Kathy Griffin

I didn't take offense at KG saying that her award had nothing to do with Jesus. I agree - Jesus has bigger things to think about than a loud-mouthed comedienne winning an award. If she'd stopped there, no problem. But to say "Suck it Jesus" is extremely offensive. She'd be a social pariah if she'd said "Suck it Mohammed," and I don't think many people here would be defending her. I actually like KG; she is loud and hilarious, sometimes offensive but not usually mean-spirited. I think she'd have been better served to say "I was excited about the win and made an unthinking joke in the spur of the moment" instead of "am I the only Catholic left with a sense of humor?" No Kathy, you aren't, but you are one of the few who thinks "Suck it Jesus" is a cool statement to make.

    Rosie O'Donnell

How is playing the "bald" card any better than that guy playing the "lesbian" card as she calls it? It's both something they're born with. Way to be tolerant of bald people, Rosie.

    Broadway Industry News

Now that would be interesting - Maggie G singing "they call me a cockeyed optimist." Good thing she's a strong actress.

    Gisele Bundchen

It's been a long time, but the only female I remember in that whole book was the murdered guy's daughter (Victoria/Vittoria/something like that). I don't think it's spoiling the plot to reveal that the daughter is a love interest for Langdon / Hanks' character. Please tell me Tom Hanks and Gisele are not going to be doing the nasty in this flick. That could turn me off sex for good (to my spouse's chagrin). Maybe she plays a monk... One who has taken the vow of silence as TubaGirl suggested.

    Sylvester Stallone

Stallone attacks Mexican border fence By ISTRA PACHECO, Associated Press Writer Fri Jan 5, 9:45 AM ET MEXICO CITY - Sylvester Stallone defended boxing, praised the hard work of Mexicans and dished out some jabs against U.S. plans to build a wall on its southern border, as the 60-year-old actor visited Mexico City to promote his sixth "Rocky" film. Stallone said Thursday that "Rocky Balboa," the latest installment in the underdog saga of the Italian Stallion, shows an ordinary man fighting back against life's difficulties represented by his stronger ring opponents. "It's like bullfighting or certain sports where you understand the brutality," he told reporters. "The thing is you have two men who are prepared; two men who have trained for this and know exactly what they're doing. It's not like two strong men attacking strangers." In "Rocky Balboa," an MGM Pictures release, the aging scrapper is running a restaurant when a computer-simulated bout inspires him to put the gloves back on. In one scene, his character defends his restaurant's immigrant cooks and waiters against slanderous comments. "I support Mexicans who work in my country," he said, adding that the United States depends on the hard work of Latinos to keep running. In comments to Mexican media later, Stallone criticized plans to build 700 miles of fence along the border as an immigration-control measure. Such a fence was "crazy" and "ridiculous," he said, arguing that nations should be able to interact without being divided by walls. The Mexican government has railed against the fence with former President Vicente Fox comparing it to the Berlin Wall. -------------------------------------------------------------- I love his comments about supporting Mexicans who work in his country. This from the man who was rumoured to leave turds in hotel showers so housekeeping would have to clean it up? Yeah - that's one man who respects his fellow humans. What's the matter? Mad that Rocky Balboa was beat by a kiddie flick at the box office and needing some attention?

    Brittany Murphy

I've never been a Brittany Murphy fan (aside from her performance in "Clueless"). This weekend, out of utter boredom, I went to see "Happy Feet" and was so impressed by Gloria's vocals that I stayed until the end of the credits to see who had done the singing. Brittany was the speaking voice, but I was sure someone else had sung for her. The credits didn't show song performances, so looked it up when I got home, and was stunned to find that it was really her. I'd heard she had a good voice, but this chick can SING! Wow. On a side note, I hated the movie, so staying past the credits was painful, so that should give you a clue how good she was.

Did she have a little accident with the cocaine, or what the hell is all over her chest?

    Dexter

Last weekend was free preview on Showtime, so I recorded the first two episodes. I'm hooked!!! And now I'm screwed, because Showtime doesn't sell on iTunes. Bummer. The only character I'm not thrilled with is the sister - I didn't picture her quite that insecure from the book. But everyone else, especially Dexter, perfection! It looks like most of the season will cover the mystery from the first book and not into the second book (maybe Dearly Devoted Dexter will be used for the second season?). Thanks for the recommend Soho! And Cruizin', you are my kind of reader. My motto is "no dead bodies, no place on my bookshelf." It's always the quiet ones, ya know?

    Dexter

I've read and loved the two books that the series is based on (Darkly Dreaming Dexter and Dearly Devoted Dexter), but the hubby nixed getting Showtime for the series since I'm only home weekends. If they sell this on iTunes I would definitely buy it. Can totally see Michael C Hall as Dexter, and Julie Benz would be perfect for Rita (formerly abused, not really interested in intimacy, etc.). Now I just have to hope that they publish another Dexter book soon.

    Hilary Swank

I don't think it was necessarily fair for Hilary to tell about Chad, but I don't think it is any worse than when a star tells about an ex cheating on them. It is revealing a private part of their lives (and like it or not, an addiction affects both people in a marriage). No one villified Halle B for stating that Eric Benet cheated on her 27 times, and he sought care as a sex addict. At some point I think Swank got tired of everyone accusing her of ruining the marriage by being more successful or too career driven, so she struck a low blow and let everyone know that is wasn't all her fault. Wrong choice, yes, but I do understand how it happened.

    What are you reading?

I'm reading "Marley and Me." I've had it for a long time, but after having to have one of my pets put to sleep, couldn't handle reading it for quite a while. Finally started last night - my husband actually kicked me out of bed for laughing so much and keeping him awake. Even when I managed to muffle the laughter, the whole bed was shaking. For anyone who loves animals and has ever had a dog who doesn't quite fit the label of well-behaved, this is a great read. I'm staring at my version of Marley right now - he is laying back on one of the deck chairs like a sunbather.

    Paris Hilton recording album

Can I just plead with those of you who have pre-teen and teenage daughters to BAN them from buying this cd? It's the only hope to get rid of Paris; not that you can get rid of an STD like her (pun intended), but help us minimize the exposure. Please.

    Lost Discussion

Did anyone notice the commercial for the Hanso Foundation / Jobs during Lost? I went to the site to see if there was anything there. It looks like each job listing has a few letters typed in gray; am thinking they might be a cryptogram or something? Will have to check when I have more time to play! http://www.hansocareers.com/

    Ellen Pompeo

I think that would piss me off the most. I would come home and there would be money on the counter and the fridge would be cleared out. I'd have to go to the store and buy stuff for dinner, because she literally ate everything in the house. Luckily, it was my condo and I kicked her out after 4 months. She was ASTOUNDED when I told her I couldn't take her throwing up anymore. She had the NERVE to look at me with innocent eyes and say, I just have a lot of people over while you're at work. OH, OK. For a moment I thought we had the same roommate, except mine never left me money. Sara the skeleton ate all my food too, but I drew the line when she ate some of my batch of pudding that was setting up in a large bowl, thereby ruining the rest of the bacth. Too much double dipping for me, especially since she was not only bullemic but nympho (oh the germs!!)...I thought Ellen looked prettier in Old School; maybe she was a little less bony?

    Teri Hatcher

Did anyone catch her interview on Access Hollywood last night? I was cooking dinner and heard the interviewer say something about the body part Teri is most proud of or something. I walked into the room expecting her to say legs or breasts or the like - she said her nipples. While I was standing there with my mouth gaping open, they cut to an interview with James Denton where they asked HIM if he knew what Teri's favorite own body part is, and he said nipples too! So does she walk around on the set just talking about how great her nipples are, or does she show them to take a survey? Made me think of her Seinfeld appearance - maybe she wasn't referring to the whole breast, just the tip.
