These books are my new guilty pleasure. I totally get that they are for disaffected 13 year olds (which I know because my nieces read them) but can't help it! Movie version in the works looks to suck big time based on the casting, but oh well. It's a very guilty pleasure!

This was like a whole thing a few weeks into the pandemic. There were tons of photos of people glammed you to take out the trash. It feels like that was 20 years ago.

I honestly can’t see myself going back to a theater until we are well into a vaccine situation.

    What are you reading?

I just recently finished Cleo McDougal Regrets Nothing. I really enjoyed it. Funny, serious, very very topical. I’m thinking of reading this next. Written by Carrie Fisher’s former assistant. It looks interesting. https://www.shondaland.com/inspire/books/a33351782/byron-lane-turns-hollywood-assistant-life-into-life-affirming-storytelling/

    The Kardashians

They have FOUR kids? Wow. I lost track somewhere. I remember North and Saint. I vaguely remember there was a surrogate. Was that for Saint or the third one? I try SO hard not to pay attention to them, but Kanye meltdown sucked me back in.

From US Magazine. The sleeves were added and the bottom was modified. xxxxx The queen wore the ivory peau de soie taffeta dress to the premiere of the film Lawrence in Arabia in London in 1962. It was modified for Beatrice with the addition of organza sleeves. and from Hello: The Queen's dresser Angela Kelly and royal dressmaker Stewart Parvin added the feature in order to adhere to the rules of a place of worship, whereby bare shoulders are deemed inappropriate. there are photos of the queen wearing the dress at the Lawrence of Arabia premier and also at an Italian state dinner. The shoes Beatrice wore were the same shoes she wore to William and Kate’s wedding.

That was my exact thought. FWIW all of the articles I’ve read use the phrase “gave birth.” I know this because I specifically looked for it. Doesn’t mean it’s true, but it’s there.

I think she looks lovely. The dress is beautiful and the sentiment sweet. It’s also the best way possible to PR spin the loss of your big fancy wedding and the fact that your father is human scum. But i choose to go with lovely and sweet and probably made her grandmother super super happy.

Isn’t this the man who had a live in fiancé with a new baby at the time they got together? I feel like this was a big story at the beginning and now you never hear about it at all. Like they paid her off or something. Maybe I’m remembering it wrong...

Well, 16 year old became our first Covid test today. We went to the pediatrician for some thing we thought was relatively random, only to find out it’s a Covid symptom! Doctor doesn’t really think she has it but it’s weird enough that he’s suspicious and had her tested on site. Hopefully we should hear by Monday possibly even Saturday. So, double extra quarantine for her this weekend. As an aside, I know he has kids in my school district. I said, “I know it’s a day too late, but do you have any strong feelings about which school proposal to choose?” He paused for a minute and said, “All I can say to you at this point is that we decided to do online in our house.” Feeling better and better about our choice. Even distraught child is seeing the logic.

I will admit that while it wasn’t the deciding factor, we definitely considered the fact that taking our daughter out was one less body crowding a classroom for the kids who have no choice but to be there. I agree with what you said, Witchkitten. This is a real disaster. The exact same people (At least where I am) saying we need to open everything up and fix the economy are the ones who won’t mask. How do they not see they are the problem!

Tomorrow is the day we have to make the call about next school year. You may have seen Betsy DeVos on the news railing against my school district. She’s really got it in for us in particular. And my daughters Girl Scout friend/classmate was on NBC Nightly News last night talking about it from the student perspective. I think we have decided that rather than doing two days in school, my daughter is going to do all online. It’s a year-long commitment and can’t be changed after tomorrow, which stinks, but my daughter has asthma and my husband has high blood pressure, so that’s where we’ve come down. Anyone else dealing with this right now?

This really gets me. I’ll be honest, I didn’t know his work before Covid hit, but I’ve been following his story since the beginning. It seems like he was one of the earliest “notable” really sick people, so it got a lot of coverage. It’s basically been a story almost from the beginning of Corona, so it felt a little like the hope for the pandemic for me. I feel just awful for what he went through for all of this time. Nick Cordero, Broadway Actor, Dies at 41 After Coronavirus Complications Mackenzie Nichols • 39m Broadway actor Nick Cordero, known for his roles in “Rock of Ages,” “Waitress,” “Bullets Over Broadway” and “A Bronx Tale The Musical,” died on Sunday after battling complications from COVID-19 for several months. He was 41. His wife, Amanda Kloots, made the sad announcement on her Instagram account on Sunday night. In March 2020, Cordero was hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after testing positive for coronavirus. Throughout his stay in the hospital, he underwent a leg amputation, was given a temporary pacemaker and was put into a medically induced coma. He had been in the intensive care unit for more than 90 days and suffered from additional complications, like lung infections and septic shock. Kloots, had been giving updates on Cordero’s status on her Instagram stories throughout his hospital stay. Most recently she told Gayle King that he would likely need a double lung transplant if he survived. Many people showed their support with posts and videos using #WakeUpNick. Cordero first hit the Broadway stage for “Rock of Ages” in 2012 as Dennis and Record Company Man. In 2014, he earned a Tony nomination and a Drama Desk nomination for his role of Cheech in the musical adaptation of Woody Allen’s “Bullets Over Broadway.” He also appeared as Earl in “Waitress,” leaving to play Sonny in “A Bronx Tale The Musical,” for which he was nominated for a Drama Desk award. On television, he had guest roles in “Queer as Folk” and “Lilyhammer,” and had recurring roles as Victor Lugo in “Blue Bloods” and as Anthony Marino in “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit.” Raised in Hamilton, Ontario, Cordero attended Ryerson University but left partway through to sing for the band Lovemethod. After leaving Canada for New York, he originated the role of Toxie off-Broadway in “The Toxic Avenger.” Cordero is survived by his wife, who was a former Radio City Rockette and dancer, and their son, Elvis.

My Husband got the antibody test and it came back negative. We were all really sick in the winter time, my daughter missed almost a month of school. Even though it was so early in the cycle, we thought it was possible that we could have had it. I know the false negative rate is kind of high. I’m giving blood in a couple weeks so we’ll see what they say about mine. Also for those of you who have kids in K-12 school, we just found out yesterday what our back to school plan is and I’m curious what other school districts have come out with across the country. We are given two choices that we can select from. The first choice is all online. The second choice is two days in person, two days online. Like a Monday Wednesday Tuesday Thursday in person. My daughter desperately wants to go back to school. She’s not good with online learning and is very adamant that she wants to be in front of a teacher. It’s scaring the crap out of me especially in light of the news over the last few days that they don’t think the antibodies last very long, so you could get it over and over again.

It was set up like a zoom call so everyone could keep in touch during quarantine. It wasn’t a live action episode. It was also a fundraiser. It looks like it’s on Hulu but only if you have Hulu with Live TV. I still have it on my DVR. I wish I had a way to copy that for you!

This must be an organized thing because there was one in Detroit too and here is a lengthy article with a whole list of events to celebrate his birthday. Gross. I don’t remember this kind of stuff for other presidents.
