Jude Law

Law To Remove Sadie Tattooimdb.comHollywood hunk Jude Law is so desperate to erase all memory of his troubled marriage to actress Sadie Frost, he's planning to remove a tattoo bearing her name. Five years ago, the Road To Perdition star had the words, "You came along to turn on everything, Sexy Sadie" - a quote from The Beatles song "Sexy Sadie" - etched into his arm, but now the actor is desperate to endure the pain and have the marking removed from his forearm. According to Britain's Heat magazine, he's booked into a specialist clinic in Los Angeles to undergo the tricky procedure, and has told friends he doesn't care how much it hurts, because he's determined to avoid sporting any reminders of his failed marriage.

Martha's Magazine Lowers Her ProfileSTEPHEN M. SILVERMANpeople.comThe new issue of Martha Stewart Living magazine is missing a feature that has been a mainstay of the publication since its founding 13 years ago: Martha's Calendar. The New York Times interprets the move as an attempt by the magazine's parent company, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, to play down the name and personality of the lifestyle guru, who is currently involved in an insider stock-trading scandal.Stewart, 62, speaking to The Times, downplayed the replacement of her bylined monthly guide to deadheading flowers and other domestic duties with a feature now called Gentle Reminders."When we started the magazine in 1990," she said, " there were very few calendars in other magazines offering that kind of gentle reminders that I wanted to offer our readers."But with other magazines picking up her calendar idea (her printed list also included the birthdays of friends and her daughter, Alexis), "we believe it is time to evolve our calendar to something different."Stewart emphasized that the magazine was simply looking for a way to do something better. "That's what it's all about," she tells The Times. "It's not about anything else."

    Julia Roberts

Julia takes to the stageActress due for West End debutpeoplenews.comJulia Roberts is to become the latest in a long line of Hollywood big hitters to tread the boards of London's West End. The Pelican Briefed actress had been considering appearing in a stage version of The Philadelphia Story, the 1940 classic, which starred Katharine Hepburn, Cary Grant and James Stewart. But Roberts said she was reticent about taking the part - which Calista Flockhart turned down in April - following the death of its silver screen star earlier this year.'Hepburn's death would lead everybody to make comparisons between them,' said producer Duncan Weldon of Roberts' decision. 'I don't think she felt she was ready for that sort of pressure. What we have agreed now is that we will look for a play with a bit less profile for her in London.' Following in the eminent footsteps of the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Kevin Spacey, Nicole Kidman and former boyfriend Matthew Perry, Roberts seems to be another movie star eager to earn her stripes as a 'real' actor, proving her worth in front of a live audience for a change. Stay tuned for further details.

    Nicolas Cage

Cage Erupts During Snake Dance Storyimdb.comMovie star Nicolas Cage left American chat show king David Letterman speechless on Thursday night with a tirade of foul language as he chatted about his new pets - a pair of king cobra snakes. Cage, appearing on the late-night talk show to promote new movie Matchstick Men , began by calmly describing how he likes to sit in a specially-constructed cell he has at home, drinking wine and watching his snakes Moby and Sheba. But the eccentric actor went too far when he tried to describe the look his caged albino, Moby, gives him from time to time. Cage explained, "Sometimes Moby will do this little charming snake dance and show his back to me and he's got this little round, circular pattern on his back and he's doing this dance. Every now and then he'll turn around and go, 'F**k you, motherf**ker. I wanna f**king kill you.' So after that I say good night kids, I have to go upstairs and lie down and think about what just happened. It's kinda like driving 190 miles per hour in a sportscar with a scotch - the adrenalin levels goes up." A shocked Letterman regained his composure and later asked Cage, "What does your snake say again?" Cage revealed he keeps the antidote to a venomous snake bite by the side of his pets' cage - because he has only 15 minutes to live if he's bitten.

    Jude Law

Diva of the DayShe may have lost her man but she's still got column inches... peoplenews.comSadie Frost is a diva by default. She hangs out with Kate Moss, is respected by the fashion industry and had enviable red carpet appeal as Mrs Jude Law . But now the veneer is peeling off. Her split with Law has encouraged a tabloid feeding frenzy as the two publicly row over who's too blame amid rumours that Jude was more than just friends with co-star Nicole Kidman . Frost has done what all divas should in finding a toyboy lover, parading him publicly and going off on her zillionth holiday this year with her supermodel chum. Her career as an actress never really took off despite a rather good performance in Dracula and she's had the model-actress-whatever tag ever since. Taking up with Law, himself a toyboy helped her gain entry back into hallowed A-List land and she gained respect by daring to wear a second-hand (vintage, sweetie, vintage!) dress to the Oscars. Joining Jemima French they started a label FrostFrench and became the toast of fashion with shows that included Moss performing a striptease. It all seemed to go wrong when cracks began to appear in her relationship with Jude. Daughter Iris almost swallowed an ecstacy tablet at a birthday party, she appeared in public heavily bruised and police became a more regular presence at chez Frost-Law than any of their A-List chums. Now she's with the delightfully named Jackson Scott, gearing up for another presentation at London Fashion Week where you can bet she'll be all smiles. That's if she can drag herself away from snogging, straddling and pawing him in public. Sorry Sadie, it ain't gonna last. Frost though, like all good divas has the perfect antidote to her troubles - a massive house in London's very trendy Primrose Hill and four adorable kids. Like all divas, we may wonder what she actually does but whatever it is, she always seems to land on her feet.

Depp Disavows Anti-American 'Quotes'STEPHEN M. SILVERMANpeople.comJohnny Depp has denied inflammatory comments about the United States attributed to him in the German magazine Stern, saying they were taken out of context and that he was misquoted, Reuters reports. The "Pirates of the Caribbean" star was quoted in Stern this week as saying America was "like a dumb puppy" and a "broken toy," and that he would urge his French-based children to explore it and then "get out."In an apology issued by his publicist, the Kentucky-born Depp said his comment was referring to America being a young, growing nation compared to Europe. He added that he and his family now live in the south of France because his wife, singer Vanessa Paradis, is French."I am an American. I love my country and have great hopes for it," Depp's statement reads. "It is for this reason that I speak candidly and sometimes critically about it. I have benefited greatly from the freedom that exists in my country and for this I am eternally grateful."He went on to say, "My deepest apologies to those who were offended, affected or hurt by this insanely twisted deformation of my words and intent."

banderas Considers Napoleon Musicalimdb.comSpanish movie hunk Antonio Banderas is in negotiations to play Napoleon in a new stage musical. Spurred on by his Broadway, New York, success in Nine , Banderas is keen to find other stage projects in which to star - and his next big production could be as the infamous French leader. Banderas says, "I have some proposals now. I'm looking at a new Cy Coleman musical based on Napoleon. I'm going to take time to revise this and see if it's the right vehicle." And that's not the only historical project Banderas is keen to work on - he's also planning to make his directorial debut with a movie about legendary Spanish Caliph Boabdil. He adds, "He was the last caliph of the Kingdom of Granada, after the Arabs were in Spain for eight centuries. He was not meant to be the king but his father was expelled from the throne and, accidentally, fate put him in a place where he didn't want to be. He was a mathematician, astronomer, poet and humorist. He had to deal with the last remains of eight centuries of Arab domination in Spain. He's a guy who saw an entire kingdom falling apart. It's a very Shakespearean kind of drama."Has anyone seen Nine??

Nicole's 'Stepford'is in whine countryThe 411NY Daily NewsBy REBECCA LOUIE, SUZANNE ROZDEBA, ZOE ALEXANDER and BEN WIDDICOMBENicole Kidman has the 'Stepford Wives' set abuzz with concern that she'll take time out to shoot a perfume ad.All's not well on the set of Nicole Kidman's "The Stepford Wives," co-starring Bette Midler and Matthew Broderick. The jittery crew of director Frank Oz's film is griping about delays on the remake of Ira Levin's suburban horror story - and about Kidman's alleged diva-ish behavior. Our on-set snitch says Kidman has slowed filming with complaints, including an unwillingness to shoot outdoors on hot summer days. The crew is also worried she'll hold them up even longer by jetting to Australia to film a Chanel commercial with Baz Luhrmann, her "Moulin Rouge" director.Kidman has yet to be officially announced as the new face of Chanel, but it's the worst-kept secret in fashion. Her rep strenuously denies that Kidman is responsible for any delays. "That is crazy. No one is more professional than Nicole."The movie has been plagued by other delays, says our insider."The whole film is on hold for re-writes. The final scene - which was supposed to have been shot this week - was to include a beheading of Christopher Walken, which is now going to be scrapped for something else. The crew is wondering what will happen."Producer Scott Rudin joked through a rep: "So far, there are no heads rolling, but it's early in the shoot and you never know."

    Mike Tyson

Mike Tyson Has Sympathy for Kobe Bryanthollywood.comFormer heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson, who was convicted of rape in 1992 and served three years in prison, says he sympathizes with basketball star Kobe Bryant. The 24-year-old Los Angeles Lakers guard has been charged with a Class 3 sexual assault, the equivalent of rape under Colorado law, stemming from allegations made by a 19-year-old Colorado woman who worked at a resort where he was staying in June. "I've been in an ordeal like him, and I know how easy it is for a young man to be a big shot, a big star in America's eyes and then get in another arena and he's nobody," Tyson said in an interview on Access Hollywood . "That means the judicial arena." Tyson, 37, said he wished Bryant "the best" and advised the NBA star to stay close to his family.

TRUE COLORS SHINING THROUGHPage SixWELL-known for his obsession with muted hues (mostly white), Calvin Klein 's color concerns spilled over to his company. He dictated that only white calla lilies could be placed in its reception areas and only white orchids could adorn personal spaces. Offenders got Post-It notes reminding them to remove the imperfect posies. Former Post reporter Lisa Marsh exposes these idiosyncracies and more in "The House of Klein: Fashion, Controversy and a Business Obsession," which hits stores this week. Our fave is Calvin's coffee standard. To ensure he'd get just the right mix of coffee and milk, he kept a Pantone color swatch on the kitchen wall so that whoever was making it would get the ratio right. Marsh will be signing books at BookHampton in East Hampton this Saturday from 5:30 p.m.

    Hugh Jackman

COSTUMER BARES B'WAY EGOS Page SixFANS who see Hugh Jackman in "The Boy From Oz," a Broadway take on the flamboyant life of choreographer Peter Allen, won't get to see as much of the Australian hunk as Carl Goldberg did.Goldberg is the shirtmaker-to-the-stars who also helped costume the cast of "Hairspray," "Urinetown," "Gypsy," "Little Shop" and three productions of "Mamma Mia!"While Goldberg's costumes are top-notch, his backstage banter is even better. The wardrober sees Broadway's biggest stars without makeup and the tales he has to tell about them would make a fine production in its own right.Jackman, for instance, shared his belief that he possesses the legs of a showgirl. While Goldberg admits they were long, they weren't his cup of tea."Jason Alexander perspires so much, he wears a special anti-perspirant on his head so he won't short out the microphones," Goldberg tells PAGE SIX's Michael Rovner. "They had a really difficult time finding a suit to fit him. He's a fireplug, and he knows it."Nathan Lane , while being measured for his costumes in "The Producers," gave Goldberg a dramatic reading of "his most bizarre fan mail from a crackpot stalker fan, and Nathan was being Nathan which is terribly amusing." It wasn't the only fun Goldberg had with the show. "I'm a nice Jewish boy whose favorite task is measuring the stormtrooper babes," says Goldberg of the curvy chorus girls featured in the "Springtime for Hitler" number.Goldberg calls Shakespeare in the Park star John Goodman a "two-tape measure customer. Everyone at the Public Theater said he hates to be measured because he's so big, but he was as nice as can be."In 20 years of making shirts, the self-described "second-generation garmento" calls Bronson Pinchot , another Shakespeare in the Park actor, his toughest challenge. "I began to measure him and he leapt away, it was very weird, and then he left without a fitting."While Goldberg's fashion credentials include stints with Tommy Hilfiger, Geoffrey Beene and Sean John, the biggest diva he ever had to deal with was Donna Karan 's dog "who made himself comfortable on a pile of Italian cashmere sweaters worth $5,000 and all the assistants were afraid to do anything because of who his master was."
