I have never related more to Anna. đ
-
My favourite photo from the coronation. Scotland unsure what the fuss is about.
-
If you ask me it was never the face, it was the hair (or lack thereof). I wonder if Iâll get arrested for treason now.

Reese Witherspoon just announced her divorce. https://people.com/movies/reese-witherspoon-husband-jim-toth-announce-divorce/

And heâs done his usual âleave it vague enough so that when someone who fits does get divorced, I can reveal it as themâ đ

I think I missed that âsuperhero moviesâ implies for than 1, in which case not Cate.
-
I forgot Cate Blanchett! She did a Marvel film.
-
We can add Emma Stone (Spider-Man) Natalie Portman (Thor) to the possibilities.

My employer has just announced weâre getting an extra day of annual leave for the Kingâs Coronation. Even though itâs on a Saturday! Between that and the extra two days we got last year (jubilee then funeral), this is the most the royal family have ever done for me. đ

Iâm so interested to see what happens on this yearâs red carpet after last yearâs was ripped apart for being so so dull.
-
I was reading a gossip item earlier that suggested she was struggling at the golden globes, how sad.

Sorry for the double post but this gives me the ick - I get that this is what the writer took from the book, but it seems wrong if Harry has picked on the women who married into the institution, not the men born into it. Seems to jive with what Iâve read about Harry being against his place in the monarchy, rather than the monarchy itself. The main villain is Camilla, who, in Harryâs telling, becomes the leaker-in-chief in order to protect herself. He rarely mentions Camilla without also mentioning how she usurped his mother. The runner-up villain is Kate. But on this topic, Harryâ resentment gets the better of him. In the way he describes interactions with his sister-in-law, he clearly wants the reader to choose Meghan over Kate. Informality over formality. The spareâs wife over the heirâs. Itâs the same as the idea that everything is Meghanâs doing, itâs clearly not the case but it protects the monarchy.

Iâve experienced this at fancy functions in the U.K., I hate it. Thankfully I donât go to many that fancy đ

I donât think that is right based on googling just now, sources including the Daily Mail suggest the party was 2005 and Kate and Williamâs break (or at least the known one) was 2007. https://people.com/celebrity/prince-william-kate-middleton-split-up/ That said, it doesnât seem like everything was roses in 2005 https://www.marieclaire.com/celebrity/a25661497/prince-william-said-no-when-asked-about-marrying-kate-middleton-in-2005/. Thatâs the thing thatâs been really interesting to me on this book stuff from a pure gossip perspective - and itâs something I knew from my love of blind items, but has been even more obvious here because of the profile of the source - is how easy false narratives can be uncritically accepted on the internet. Iâve seen people insistent Harry says William went to the same party as a ânativeâ in blackface, when I understand he actually says he went in a leotard, as a lion.
-
Only based on the excerpts Iâve seen, I think itâs hard to see William and Harry ever making amends after this.
-
Are they suggesting it would make the Queen look bad? Or are there 2 different âthe royalâ here? I donât buy that Harry would have gone after Gran. Dad? Sure. Brother? Definitely. But Gran? No. She was his best hope of getting what he wanted IMO.
-
No one tell Hoyaheel about the bit where the Queen suddenly sits up and announces it was all a massive prank to see how long her subjects would queue for.
-
This was the only bit of the whole funeral shebang that brought tears for me. Emma the Queenâs pony at Windsor.

On curtsying, I was idly thinking the other day that werenât there stories at one point that Kate had to curtesy to Beatrice and Eugenie because they were princesses in their own right and she wasnât? I was wondering if that might have changed now because she is Princess of Wales, then I wasnât interested enough to go and check. I love that Anne has basically done everything her brothers have. That recent change in law to give women the right of succession over younger brothers should have been applied to her IMO, but maybe she didnât want it for what it would mean for her kids. edit - not sure if this link works overseas but the bbc is live streaming the lying in state for those who canât travel. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/uk-62902778

I wasnât able to go in the end. The beeb had said the cortège wouldnât start until 5pm but it was actually earlier, and I was just finishing a work call when it went past. Could hear the helicopter overhead and managed to see the end of the nearby road on the tv LOL. Itâs been confirmed by my job that weâre getting the day off on Monday to allow us to watch the funeral, but my husbandâs work isnât closing.
-
Andrew was heckled at a couple of points, while following the Queenâs coffin up the Royal Mile. The cortège passed near my house yesterday and will do same tomorrow. Iâm debating whether to go and watch it pass, for the moment of history more than anything else.

Iâm back in the U.K. now and not surprisingly itâs everywhere. Flew back with BA and it was mentioned in the pilot messages, then I flew through 2 U.K. airports and both had memorial messages on all of the e-screens normally used for advertising. I didnât expect that.

Iâd heard he would have gone with George if heâd been younger, but the idea you can pick a different name for your royal one is bonkers to me anyway. The royal family only use about 4 first names in total, they just rotate them. As such I can only get behind this idea of changing name if William decides to be something like King LouLouBelle I when the time comes. (Assuming we havenât ditched the lot by then - thereâs still a lot of hard core royalists around in the UK at least.)

I feel sadder about it than I thought I would, although PMS might be playing a part! She had a long life and was still working as of two days ago, when she appointed our latest PM. She did look frailer than ever in those pics though. Iâm actually in Canada on hols, so not seeing all of the U.K. chatterâŚKing Charles III sounds like a spaniel though.
