Not surprised in the least. I've heard all along that this relationship has always been difficult... he's annoyed she never converted to Judaism... a few years ago, he took some time away from the family to try to figure out if he wanted to stay in or get out.... oof. I was always tired, just reading about it. My prediction is that he'll marry to some siginificantly younger cutie within a couple of years.

Holy Cow! I did not see the Brange split coming!!!! I thought they'd be all "European" and stay married forever, while being with a series of other partners & random lovers.

Yeah, that's the rumour, but she's not at all his type (bubbly blonde fun-loving party girl). Doda was living with another woman and they had a tiny daughter he took up with Athina (she was 17, he was in his late 20s). His children's mother has since committed suicide. Yet another reminder: if he cheats WITH you, he'll cheat ON you!

I think that being seen in Europe with Norman was kept pretty quiet, wasn't it? At least in the Us gossip mags - nothing about it in US or People or the like. They weren't trying to hide but I think they knew it wouldn't reach the mainstream press.

There was a blind item stating that they actually split after she cheated, but they decided to delay the announcement bc they wanted to make it look like that was not the cause of the breakup. The blind may or may not be true, but points to the idea that the couple didn't have an understanding or if they did, that in this case her actions with/ feelings with Norman were the straw that broke the camels back. So even if they weren't a Disney couple, I can see how many people (including me) would think worse of her if they broke up due to her "unautherized" cheating. Also, having been through a divorce, I can see how during the immediate aftermath, you're both in so much pain that you might want to delay the announcement to others (especially if you know that people like us are going to be discussing and analysing it).

Do you remember this series of photos from a few months back? It's in LA, Diane is walking ahead of him and Joshua seems to be trying to keep up. HE's not wearing a shirt. I have no idea what's going on but my "photo assumtion" is that she was annoyed and left the house, he ran after her, before he even had the chance to grab a shirt. Holy sh*t this makes me sad. I remember her talking about her struggle to conceive and said that her husband is such an amazing human she wanted him to be a dad. I thought, gosh, that's a lovely-sounding marriage! I like the little I know of her. *sigh*

She's spoken numerous times through the years about wanting children and she's just turned 40 so I wonder if she's getting nesty in order to have kids? Also, the "Welcome to my dilemma!" comment makes it sound like Joshua is 100% wanting to marry and the choice whether or not to do so is 100% in her hands...

I don't think he wants to run for political office but I do believe he wants to become more involved, in some way, with political issues and hang out with political movers & shakers. He wants to be taken seriously and thinks that being married to a human rights lawyer will allow him to move in those circles without being laughed at, and she can brief him on important issues of the day. I think she wants kids so that was one of her demands when they were negotiating the contract... er... discussing their wildly-romantic marriage.

I wonder if this will be a 'til-death-do-them-part engagement? I wouldn't be surprised if they never made it down the aisle. Also, I think the very public Wendi Deng divorce made him feel completely helpless and humiliated and what better way to feel back on top with the ladies than getting engaged to a decades-younger supermodel?
