  1. Another Hollywood legend has rode off into the sunset just one month before what would've been his 89th birthday: Regis Philbin.

God bless you and his family always!!!

    Holly

P.S. Natural causes are said to be how his journey got started.

  2. The newest person to add to the list is Darius Rucker. Him and the wife are walking away after 20 years. (shaking my head)

God bless you and the Rucker family always!!!

P.S. The only song that comes to me after learning the news is this one.

Covid is highlighting the weak, selfish nature of most Americans. Waah I don't want to be inconvenienced! It's MY right to do what I want, where I want! What about MAH FREEDOM!

For a supposedly "Christian" country, the idea of "do unto others" has certainly been flushed down the toilet.

Unfortunately Americans as a whole -- and this is a controversial opinion here, but whatever, I got tons of 'em -- have been gaslit by the notion of American exceptionalism.*** That is, we have been taught from childhood that we live in the greatest country on earth. That what happens in other places cannot happen here. That we are better than others, cause we're the United States of America, dammit. And thus we are blinded to our own faults and the very simple fact that this country is, like every other nation on earth, truly only a hair's breadth away from collapse. That the very systems we believe set us apart are not, in fact, infallible.

Unless people wake up and realize that each and every single person has to work for the good of all, then we are doomed as a nation. It's not always about what you want. It's about what others need. Or do we really not give a shit about others? Is America really only ME ME ME?

***We've been gaslit by other false notions as well, most notably that the Cold War ended in 1991, but that's a tale for another day ... 😉

Saying that we are doomed as a nation may not even begin to cover it when the sickness is said to be all over the planet.

    God bless you always!!!

The entire point of public health law is that it's only your life and your freedom until it affects MY health.

True, but do keep in mind that what other people do doesn't affect your health until you make the choice to join the rest of us for whatever reason. Therefore, if you don't want to worry about what other people are up to, your address is where you are to stay until you finally feel any different because the only person that you have any real control over is yourself which is what I try to explain in my previous message here.

    God bless you always!!!

  5. Go here for the latest news concerning the Covid-19 matter. I have a foot in both fields which of course means that I understand both sides of the situation completely, but since a person can't sit on the fence forever, no rhyme intended there, I can't blame Chase and Chris for getting out there again when at the end of the day, what a person chooses to do with their lives is all up to them and only them and to me, if a person wants to spend the rest of their lives in a Petri dish, its their life, but what plenty of people obviously do not get is that not everyone is going to have the same frame of mind which in my opinion is a good thing because only so many people can fit in a Petri dish anyway.

God bless you and Chase and Chris always!!!

  6. ^^^ Hey! Awesome! Thank you for writing to me! I am guessing that it was his song named "Just Got Started Lovin' You" because that is the only song from him that ever really went anywhere. Here are his recent tributes to fellow singers Joe Diffie and John Prine.

God bless you and and their families and James always!!!

  7. I didn't think that I would ever see it again, but I found it!!!

Go here and start watching at the 1:21:16 mark of the clip for Joe's Music City News performance of "The Ships That Don't Come In".

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vP6QBlD_eQE

God bless you and his family and the rest of his fans always!!!

    Holly

P.S. I didn't think that Joe would ever give it up at the end, I LOVE the smile on his face while listening to the crowd go bonkers for him!!!

  8. Go here for both a recent clip and write up on Joe.

God bless you and his family always!!!

    Holly

P.S. It is very much appreciated how much has been shared about Joe, especially when maybe at the end of the day, the family doesn't owe the fans much if anything at all. I do remember hearing Joe say on the radio years ago that the fans are who keep celebrities going and so if I have ever overstepped in any way by caring about my favorites so much to where I may ask about things that might be private, I do apologize. To me, people as wonderful as Joe deserve all of the thought and respect in the world, especially when respect is what comes from people like him first. :) :) :)

  9. I am only just now realizing that I never mentioned country singer Joe Diffie in this chat yet. Its been a week now since his departure.

God bless you and his family always!!!

Holly (one of his many fans)

P.S. I've been playing my favorites from him like crazy. I just wish that his performance of "The Ships That Don't Come In" during the 1992 Music City News awards show was still online to watch. To me, it never should've been removed and if it ever does become available to see again, you will then finally know why I love it so much.

  10. ^^^ May the Lord be with those who have no other choice but to keep going with whatever it is that they have to do in their lives. Trash in my area was picked up at 9 this morning. Sadly that is one of the many jobs that can't go undone.

God bless you and them always!!!

The coronavirus germ can only survive if it finds a new host (person) to infect before it expires in the open air.  If we all stayed inside and didn't provide a new host for the virus to jump into, the virus would stop.

Anyone else suspect that NY is having so much trouble with it spreading because they have the best public transportation system?

To me, the problem with staying inside is the fact that we all may not be able to do such a thing simultaneously and even if we could, how long should we stay where ever it is that we go to? How much time would be a sufficient enough amount?

    God bless you always!!!

I think a lot of people won't take this seriously until people they know start to die. :BangHead:

You may be right. The sad thing in my opinion is that people may be running from something that no one can do any hiding from when germs are everywhere.

    God bless you always!!!

    Sorry to hear that, Holly.

I know that large parts of the south are not taking this seriously. I wonder whether his type of event will help make them realize that not only is the virus real, but that it isn’t just big cities. Kind of like Hanks seemed to affect a lot of people earlier on.

Thank you. I don't know about all of the other parts of the south, but plenty of places have closed in my area, the schools, the mall, restaurants, etc. Things have been either rescheduled or cancelled completely. The sermons at my church have to be watched online. The gym where I workout is closed.

    God bless you always!!!

    Holly

P.S. Where do I stand on the matter? I have a foot in both fields. I understand completely why all of this is happening, but at the end of the day, only so much can be done. You can't scale back too much or you are only going to cheat yourself out on living your life. To me, the best thing to do is to just go forward as best as you can but cautiously. If you get sick with anything, just go to the doctor like a person is supposed to do anyway. Not to sound condescending in any way or like I think that I know everything because I have plenty of questions that I am still waiting on answers for, but to me, it is just common sense when dealing with every bad thing that can happen to a person.
