PAIN PILL PAULA http://www.nypost.com/seven/05052009/tv/pa...aula_167637.htm PAULA Abdul is hitting the stage for a live perform ance on "American Idol" tomorrow night. She'll leave the judging to others to sing "I'm Just Here for the Music" -- the first single off an album due out in the fall. Since she's preparing to return to the music scene, the timing seemed right to bare her soul over the drug habit that she's recently kicked. For the first time, Abdul reveals how hard it was for her to detox from a 12-year-long painkiller addiction. "I could have killed myself," she tells this month's issue of Ladies' Home Journal. The withdrawal was "the worst thing. I was freezing cold, then sweating hot, then chattering and in so much pain. It was excruciating. But at my very core, I did not like existing the way I had been." Although Abdul claims that she never filmed an episode of "Idol" while under the influence -- and vehemently denied any illegal drug use in the past -- she did spend at least part of the last decade relying on painkillers and Chinese medicine to quietly combat her injury-induced chronic debilitating pain, she says. Years of cheerleading, dancing injuries and two crashes -- a 1992 car crash and a 1993 plane crash that required 15 spinal surgeries -- contributed to a diagnosis of reflex sympathetic dystrophy syndrome in 2005. The illness left her with disabling pain, chattering teeth and shingles-like lesions. To relieve the symptoms, Abdul wore a patch that delivered a pain medication that she claims was 80 times more potent than morphine. She also sometimes took a muscle relaxer, she said. But that's all ancient history. Last Thanksgiving, Abdul gave up the meds for good during a stay at Calsbad, Calif.'s La Costa Resort and Spa. Now, she's in shape and gearing up to to relaunch her music career.

    Beyonce and Jay-Z

Michael K @ Dlisted Cut To Basement Baby With A Guilty Look On Her Face If your ear drums shriveled up and died after listening to the unedited board feed from Beyonce's Today performance, it was all in vain. TMZ says it was all a big, fat joke (like most of the wigs laying on Beyonce's head) and someone claims they doctored it for fun. The cookie crumbs totally lead through the basement door and down the stairs..... The jokester said, "It's a little bit crazy. No one in their right mind would sound like that, and no one would cheer for someone singing like that." Um....has he heard Kim Zolciak's walrus warble? Wait. Maybe this is really her raw cover of "If I Were A Boy." I hope it's on the b-side of Tightrope. Matthew Knowles isn't laughing. He issued a pretty hilarious statement. Picture him reading this on the top of a mountain with a flag bearing the Knowles family mascot blowing in the background: If no one took the time to look at the biggest Inauguration in the history of America then shame on them. If no one took the time to listen to Beyonce sing 'America the Beautiful' and 'At Last' at the Neighborhood Ball for the first dance of President Obama and the First Lady, and they question Beyonce's vocal ability, they've gotta be an idiot. At 12 years into her career, the last thing someone should be questioning is her vocal ability. That would be like questioning if Kobe Bryant could shoot a jump shot. The vocals were obviously altered. You know what sounds altered? His fucking view of reality! Stick a bong in his mouth, so maybe he'll see the light. So, I guess it was all a hoax. I can't wait until it's revealed that the entire Knowles family is one big hoax. Put a hoax on it!

    Gisele Bundchen

All that means is that Gisele is more relevant than Bridget. Not really something that I'd want highlighted if I was her. True that

    Gisele Bundchen

I respectfully disagree, Bar is younger and has Leo. I am also pretty sure that appearing in ads, making public appearances and being in the catalogs makes Bar a VS model. Giselle may be a bigger name but this is pure jealousy & insecurity.

    Gisele Bundchen

All three of these people are crap, Bridget brutally dumped her fiance to trade up with Tom, Tom dumps preggo Bridge to trade up for Giselle, Gis was using Tom to try and get to Leo who had just taken up with the younger Victoria Secret model Bar... Karma

The cynic in me wonders if her people leaked it to counteract the idiotic Chris Brown apologists. There are too many young people saying that she may have "deserved" it I don't think it is working because even now the comments on TMZ don't show a change, there are a lot of " how come you don't talk about what she did to him to make him do this?" posts :censored:

That's correct. The DA represents "The People of the County of Los Angeles" not Rhianna. It matters not, that Rhianna doesn't want to pursue the matter. The DA will prosecute based on the evidence supplied by police and call (or subpoena, if she's reluctant) Rhianna as a witness. Her testimony is important in the case, even though there is physical evidence to support the DV, she could easily flake. Seemingly solid DV cases have gone to plea bargains because victims have decided the batterer didn't mean it / made a mistake / won't do it again. Even with solid evidence and 3 witness a case can be plead down, esp if it's the first DV offense for the perp

Being a DV victim in California, my experience is that once certain statements are given to an officer that the officer has no choice but to arrest the accused and the DA will prosecute. I don't think Rihanna can "drop it" only the DA can & they probably won't but they will most likely lower it to a misdemeanor as it was Browns first DV arrest. Sadly even if her injuries are as bad as what is being reported the DA will likely lower the charges anyway, that has been my experience with the California justice system.

http://www.tmz.com/2009/02/09/rihanna-bloody-and-bruised/ Law enforcement sources tell TMZ Rihanna's injuries were severe -- two "huge contusions" which swelled up on both sides of her forehead. We're told she also suffered "a bloody lip and nose." One of the law enforcement people put it this way -- the contusions "look like an MMA fighter or something ... [it] looked like she was growing devil's horns." We've also heard that Rihanna may have suffered bite wounds on one of her legs and arms, however, one source close to the situation tells us he doubts that is the case. Chris Brown has been booked on a felony criminal threats charge. If the D.A. files the case, domestic violence charges could be added.
