    Mario Lopez and Ali Landry

Mario Lopez -- "Dancing" King? Posted Sep 7th 2006 12:55PM by TMZ Staff Filed under: TV The new season of "Dancing With the Stars" hasn't even started but oddsmakers are already placing their bets on a winner. John Avello, Director of Race & Sports Operations at Wynn Las Vegas, released his predictions of who will be the next Stacy Keibler or Kelly Monaco. Avello has Mario Lopez waltzing away with the coveted crown. Previously, PinnacleSports.com also predicted Lopez would come out on top. Looks like we've got a lot of "Saved by the Bell" fans out there! Monique Coleman, who your ten-year-old probably recognizes from "High School Musical", is slated for the runner-up slot. But Avello has some bad news for talk show pundit Jerry Springer. Although Springer may be good at dancing around punches and catfights, Avello predicts he will be the first contestant booted off the show. Avello uses industry insiders and formulaic processing (whatever that means) to come up with the odds. In the past, he has accurately predicted winners for shows like "American Idol" and "Survivor." "Dancing With the Stars" premieres on September 12 on ABC. TMZ

Hartnett's Awkward Sex Scene Posted Sep 7th 2006 12:57PM by TMZ Staff Filed under: Movies Movie buffs and perverts alike are chomping at the bit to see Josh Hartnett and Scarlett Johansson get down and dirty in "The Black Dahlia." But in a statement guaranteed to shock the majority of the male population, Hartnett says filming those sex scenes wasn't as easy as everyone thinks. "It was very difficult for me," says Hartnett. "Those scenes are eternally awkward because you got a bunch of sweaty dudes sitting and watching you and you're just hoping to make it intimate, make it real." Though the two are a couple off-camera, Hartnett was still a little hesitant about shooting the nude scene, which has already caused a stir at the Venice Film Festival. "Brian [DePalma, the director] didn't tell me about it until he'd shot a take ... and that take is in the movie and I'm like what are you doing man, you can't do that!" "The Black Dahlia" opens September 15. TMZ

    Heather Locklear

David Spade and his girlfriend of five months, Heather Locklear, have ended their relationship, sources tell Us Weekly. Spade’s rep would neither confirm or deny the breakup, but tells Us, "David and Heather have always been friends and will remain friends." Though it was Spade’s decision to end the relationship, the couple’s constant fighting over the last several weeks made it obvious to both that it was over. “They broke up simply because she became more and more of a b-tch as she became more comfortable with him, and was difficult in every way,” says the source, who says that Spade was wary that Locklear was simply rebounding from husband Richie Sambora, from whom she split in February. “He was really cautious and saw some of the danger signals,” says a source. “She just became so high maintenance, and so not worth it to be with.” The source adds that Locklear, 44, who has recently been seen on the arm of TV producer Jonathan Prince, may have been dating Spade, 42, for publicity and seeing several other men at the same time. "This whole time she was just playing him.” usmagazine.com

    Beyonce and Jay-Z

Is Paramount Pictures worried that Beyoncé Knowles' heavy hype for her new album — released yesterday — is hurting promotional plans for the December blockbuster "Dreamgirls"? A knowledgeable insider insisted yesterday that Beyoncé's album "B'Day," marking the singer-actress' 25th birthday Monday, could threaten the movie, which Paramount acquired last December when it absorbed DreamWorks SKG. "Beyoncé's oversaturation in the marketplace has thrown a major monkey wrench in the 'Dreamgirls' rollout campaign," the insider told Lowdown, claiming that her album was originally planned for next year, but Beyoncé — concerned that the film won't be the star vehicle she'd hoped for — secretly recorded it this summer, without the knowledge of Paramount or even her manager-father, Matthew Knowles. "It will take away from the anticipation of the 'Dreamgirls' soundtrack," said my source. "She has left Paramount with not a lot of options for rolling out this film. … All her solo attention is making Paramount reposition their strategy at the last minute." Yesterday, a Paramount spokesman scoffed at this account, claiming, "The buzz created by the album's release has only raised awareness of the film," noting that Beyoncé's "Dreamgirls" original tune, "Listen," is on her new CD. "Paramount and DreamWorks are nothing but thrilled with Beyoncé," the flack said. Beyoncé's PR rep, Alan Nierob, also disputed the insider: "I guarantee you that the publicity campaign for the film is in place, and nothing relating to the publicity for her solo album has affected that campaign." But the insider insisted: "She rushed that album out in part because she realized she's not going to be the one to shine in 'Dreamgirls.' Apparently she didn't come to terms with the fact that the Effie White character" — played by "American Idol" contestant Jennifer Hudson — "is the focal point of the film." Nierob countered: "The movie is not only the vehicle she'd hoped it would be, it has surpassed what she hoped it would be." source: nydailynews.com

    Janet Jackson

Justin Timberlake is on Janet Jackson's "Nasty Boys" list. When Chicago radio station Power 92 asked Janet when the last time she spoke to JT was, the salacious singer responded in her signature whisper: "I haven't spoken to him since all that drama." That drama would be when he ripped Janet's shirt open onstage during a Superbowl half-time performance that introduced the phrase "wardrobe malfunction" into our lives. "He has tried to reach out but I'm just not ready right now to talk," she revealed. Justin Wishes He Did More Then, But Still Not Doing Much Now Justin talked about the rippin' incident in an MTV interview that aired earlier this month and came thisclose to apologizing, but instead taught sociology. "If you consider it 50/50, I probably got 10 percent of the blame," he said. "And that says something about society. I think that America's harsher on women and I think that America's unfairly harsh on ethnic people. At the time it was happening, it was so crazy to me that I didn't handle it the best way I could have." ohnotheydidnt

LOL - now I feel like an a-hole - but in all fairness I had a partner LITERALLY throw a book at me once, so after that I pretty much wanted to jump out the window every day. Fortunately I did have the opportunity to work for two nice lawyers. Two out of about 300 Anyway, I'm sure you're non-jerky - you're a chitchatter! Keep me updated!!

That's so awesome! I feel all gooey inside now!! Back when I had an office job, I used to be a bad person and photocopy pages of the book I was reading. That way, whenever someone walked by, I would pretend to be staring -- very thoughtfully, I might add -- at some paper work. They never knew I was reading a novel. I wasted a lot of paper, but it was a big corporate law firm full of jerks, so I kinda felt justified. LOL. ETA: definitely let me know what you think when you're done!

    Rosie O'Donnell

"Fame is a drug, and it distorts your perspective, everyone's perspective, from Tom Cruise to Star (Jones) to me - every one. My life was so fast [before]. I didn't have time to sit home and go to Target and be among the real people, which is what I am. I haven't had [fame] for four years in the intensity that I had it before. I think a balance would be nice. I don't know if I can do it, or what effect it's going to have on my family or on me. I feel like I'm testing the waters. I'll try to make it work, but if it doesn't, that's all right. It's hard sometimes for me to ask people, I'm back. Love me again. It feels a little greedy, like I'm taking too much." - Rosie O'Donnell, in the new issue of Newsweek from perez

    Oprah Winfrey

Talk show host Oprah Winfrey plans to be in her birthplace of Kosciusko to dedicate a state-of-the-art Boys & Girls Club she helped sponsor. The estimated $5 million facility houses a gymnasium, computer lab and garden. "We know how valuable her time is and happy that she is giving us a little of it to come down here," said Jimmy Cockroft, mayor of the city of 7,334. Paul Powers, vice president of special projects for The Oprah Winfrey Boys & Girls Club of Kosciusko and Attala County, said the facility will be used mainly for after-school activities for boys and girls 5-18 years old. After homework is finished, children can participate in arts programs or take advantage of the building's gymnasium. The facility should open in a few weeks. Construction began in October 2004 on the 32,000-square-foot facility that was funded by The Oprah Winfrey Foundation, said Powers. The facility's garden will be used to teach children to grow their own food. Children can prepare some of the food in a kitchen area, designed by Winfrey's personal chef, Art Smith, who also will be on hand for the dedication Monday. Powers said children will have access to audio and visual equipment to film themselves and other chefs preparing food. The footage could be made into DVDs and sold as a fundraiser, Powers said. The project began in 1998, after the talk-show host visited Kosciusko to dedicate a Habitat for Humanity home she funded, Cockroft said. After meeting with the community, Winfrey decided that a Boys & Girls Club would be the most beneficial thing she could do for young people. Source: Yahoo! News

    Rosie O'Donnell

Barbara Walters has asked her new View co-host Rosie O'Donnell to stop blogging about the show. "I didn't like the blog," Walters said recently in Newsweek while discussing her hopes for the show. "I'm counting on Rosie's intelligence and sensitivity and humor. This is, after all, an entertainment show. It is based on people who like each other and are having a good time, not on people who are arguing and unhappy." O'Donnell posted a less-than-favorable message on her site after shooting some promos for the show, saying, "I saw the View promos. Found myself/in the position/I loathe the most/powerless." Shortly after Walters spoke to Newsweek, she called the mag back to tell them she'd just flowers from Rosie along with a note that read, "Barbara, I only want the promos and the show to be great. Tyson: "My Life Has Been a Waste" Posted Sep 3rd 2006 6:15AM by TMZ Staff Filed under: Train Wrecks, Wacky and Weird Mike Tyson is still the main event in Las Vegas, even though he isn't licensed to fight there. The former heavyweight champion has set up shop (in this case, it's a ring) in the middle in the Aladdin/Planet Hollywood hotel, for an boxing exhibition called "Tyson Training Camp." Not quite the $35 million nights he was used to in the twilight of his career. In between ferocious left hooks, Tyson tells TMZ he's recently spoken with Oscar winner Jamie Foxx, who is rumored to play The Dynamite Kid in a big screen version of his life. Tyson says he doesn't understand why Foxx would be interested in portraying the embattled star. "i don't ... see myself in the perspective that everyone else seems. I think the 40 years of my life have been a waste." Here at TMZ, we believe anyone who could have spawned a Nintendo boxing game as cool as Mike Tyson's Punch Out is not a waste, no matter how far he may have fallen. TMZ

    Nicolas Cage

Cage's Do-Over (and We're Not Talking Hair) Posted Sep 1st 2006 12:00PM by TMZ Staff Filed under: Movies Was it the rebel / punk influence of Johnny Ramone that inspired Nicolas Cage to star in the remake of the 1973 cult classic 'The Wickerman'? Jared Leto

After spending the last weeks of summer getting their feet wet with Warped Tour audiences, Jared Leto's alt-rock combo 30 Seconds to Mars are using their recent time off to plan for a new tour they'll kick off in late September. The band are currently planning a bigger production for the fall jaunt, but guitarist Tomo Milicevic says they're eager to turn their show into a very extravagant affair. "We don't have the means at this point to do the things we see in our heads," he tells AOL Music. "We see a full interactive show with performers, and a lighting show to rival that of any great [tour] that's ever happened. In the near future we're gonna start to be more capable of actually seeing that stuff through, which is really exciting for us." The band are also using the coming weeks to work on new material, but fans shouldn't expect to hear new cuts just yet. "We're way too anal and freaky about that stuff," Milicevic says, laughing. "We don't want to share anything until we're completely satisfied with it, and that can take along time. We have to really believe it's something great before we let anyone hear it." Scarlett -- Too Sexual for Italy? Posted Aug 31st 2006 12:51PM by TMZ Staff Filed under: Movies Scarlett Johansson's curvy figure has always drawn a lot of attention, but it is too hot for the big screen? While promoting her new film "The Black Dahlia" at the Venice Film Festival, the buxom blonde was bombarded with questions about a raunchy sex scene with on and off-screen boyfriend Josh Hartnett. Though some of the press has called the romp a distraction from the film, Johansson is optimistic about the scene. "It's hard to get a perspective on that when it is you, but I hope that is not true. I mean, it's nice to be sexy but hopefully that is not overwhelming, hopefully it is in balance with the rest of the story." Johansson also told reporters she was only following the direction of Brian De Palma saying he wanted it to be "aggressive ... an exorcism of sorts." Audiences can check out the scorching scene when the movie hits theaters next month, though you'd have to be crazy to have a problem with a sexed-up Scarlett. TMZ
