Yes, the whole public/private thing is a big issue for Andrew because of his ego (his id? who knows 😉) He's always been Mom's Favorite, no one expected that to change (I find that everyone agrees he's always been the favorite, but half the people say it's because he's the product of her affair with Porchy and the other half say he's the result of the "coming back together" with Phillip, re-cementing THEIR love after HIS affairs. I personally think he's Phillip's son and I also think Phillip never stopped having affairs, so who knows why Andrew is the favorite....) @witchkitten- celebitchy's coverage of the FlopTour was hysterical. Bordering on mean a little (that's one site where I do not ever comment - and sometimes I flinch reading others' comments - yikes) But for that tour, entirely appropriate.....

Trying to avoid commenting on the incident - it's certainly not my place - but I do feel the apologies have been well written. Regardless of how he might actually feel, these were true apologies, no bullshit "I'm sorry if you were offended" crap. He says "I was wrong, I hurt you, and I'm sorry". I appreciate that, because in this day - even with way too many PR and spin doctors involved - apologies don't seem to be profound or ring true, and this (to me) does.

Most of the takes I've read are that he was working as fast as he could on whatever he could while he was able - to secure his family's financial future. Honestly can't blame him for that - and the fact that his entire family includes his ex (whom he spent quite a bit of quarantine with, without the current wife) and they are all supporting him. It's weird to me but they seem to have worked it out somehow.

I loved that Momoa had a scrunchie on his french braid - it looked good! I'm not sure what outfit I liked best. I really liked Jada's dress - that dark green, those floufy ruffles - it was eye-catching! And Venus Williams' hair looked amazing with her outfit - perfect match! I'm not loving the U-shaped cleavage plunge -makes boobs look droopy.

I still don't binge, but.....We continue to watch a LOT of things. The Playboy documentary that's on A&E is very well done, very moving. We have to watch something happy after! (last year, FXX did an Archer marathon and I didn't start watching until a couple seasons ago, so I recorded all of it and we've been watching slowly - I like an Archer episode to feel better after a Playboy episode) I have a huge list of stuff we're streaming - since Starlink is now out to 2023 (maybe) for installation - even though we paid a $$$deposit last year - we still have limited data so are careful. That said - I got a good deal on Hulu so bought that for a year. Ugh. I can't stop 😉 I do continue to prefer funny and weird when it comes to streaming......

I'm not dating this thread because Beijing starts in like 6 months, so.... 😉 Is anyone watching? There are a few sports we always watch (critiquing diving - neither of us have ANY experience - gives us great joy) and we love to find new different things to watch. I always watch all the women's soccer that I can. Lainey posted some Olympian tiktoks yesterday - such fun! I don't have tiktok and watched the videos on her site so I'm sure I missed stuff, but enjoyable anyway. Love the behind the scenes shots of the Olympic village and the swag bags the US team gets from sponsors. Wow. I have been frustrated the past 2 days that 2/3 of what I've recorded to watch has not been what it was supposed to be. Ah well.

(we're GenX so hubs and I are making all sorts of cold war & "east german judge" jokes 😉 Have watched a fair bit of curling, lots of snowboading & the women's monobob, some luge & skeleton. Not much skiing (which is odd because that's the only winter olympics sport I've actually done myself 🤣)

Yes, Natasha died from a head injury sustained in a skiing crash. She wasn't treated on the slopes but she DID go to a hospital soon after, then another where she went into a coma, and died. Sonny Bono also died from a skiing injury. I skied a LOT between 1986-1998 - no helmet - and rarely since then. I don't own my own equipment anymore so the first time I went skiing in the "modern" age and had to wear a helmet (included in a rental package) - eek - I HATE it. I'm claustrophobic (I don't like wearing ski boots now either) but I did it anyway.....

Honestly, I don't think there is a good outcome here for him (as there shouldn't be) and it's easy to see why he tried so hard to prevent the trial. Settlement looks bad, and heaven knows a trial isn't going to look good, no matter what the outcome. Lainey had a funny/good point in her coverage yesterday - they waited until the judge decided a trial could move ahead before taking away his titles & patronages, showing they WOULD have allowed status quo if not pushed to it. And they were pushed into it because can you imagine the joy of the plaintiff's attorneys if they got to say "His Royal Highness Prince Andrew" at the start of ALL of their statements in court?? Ah, the schadenfreude is overwhelming.....
