Kate takes drug break .. in Ibiza

In Ibiza ... Kate Moss

THE last place you’d expect Cocaine KATE MOSS to head right now is Ibiza. It’s a notorious party island awash with drugs.

On-off boyfriend PETE DOHERTY went there on a huge bender just this weekend after Kate dumped him by phone.

Well, that's a good place to dry out and lay low until the smoke clears...

NY DAILY NEWS/RUSH AND MOLLOY...

Are fashion and cosmetics companies starting to find waifish Kate Moss

too heavy a lift?

No sooner has Moss apologized to her modeling employers for using

cocaine than fresh gusts of scandal are buffeting the mannequin.

Over the weekend, sources claimed in Britain's News of the World that

Moss had lesbian romps with actresses Sadie Frost and Davinia Taylor,

as well as a three-way with Frost and her former husband Jude Law.

Fashion p.a. Rebecca White was quoted as alleging that she'd seen Moss

and pal Naomi Campbell blow their way through a "fist-sized" mound of

cocaine in a single night.

White also told the paper that Moss "asked for several hundred

[british] pounds' worth of cocaine" before attending a 2002 benefit for

Nelson Mandela Children's Fund.

"She sneaked off to [take cocaine] all the way through the dinner, with

Nelson Mandela at the next table," said White. "I couldn't believe how

disrespectful that was."

Christian Dior, Burberry and H. Stern have all sidestepped any

definitive answer on whether Moss will stay with them.

A rep for retailer H&M said Friday that it wouldn't dump Moss because

she had apologized for her drug use and promised in writing to remain

"healthy, wholesome and sound."

But yesterday, H&M seemed to be distancing itself, with a rep saying:

"We are having a dialogue with her. This is a very unfortunate

situation."

Meanwhile, London's Mirror reported that Moss has split with boyfriend

Pete Doherty. The bleary-eyed rocker was seen a disco on the Spanish

isle of Ibiza without Moss - instead kissing another man.

Moss' rep would only say yesterday that "all these allegations are

being dealt with by lawyers, and we will not be commenting at present."

A rep for Campbell, who in the past has been open with the press about

her cocaine use, declined to comment.

(MSNBC.COM)Chanel says au revoir to Kate MossFashion powerhouse decides not to renew supermodel's contract Updated: 1:01 p.m. ET Sept. 21, 2005PARIS - Chanel will not renew a contract with Kate Moss that expires in October, but a spokeswoman said Wednesday it had nothing to do with recent publicity about the supermodel's cocaine use."Kate Moss has a contract until the end of October," said Julie Le Blevec, spokeswoman for Chanel perfumes. She added, "We are not planning to stop the advertisements before then."Moss has been the face of Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle perfume since 2002."The contract was always going to end in October," Le Blevec said. She denied media reports that Chanel was dropping Moss and said the decision was not based on the model's recent acknowledgment of using drugs."It's not about renewing the contract or not. The contract finishes at the end of October and we don't have any projects with her," Le Blevec said.H&M, Europe's largest fashion retailer, said Tuesday it would drop a planned advertising campaign with the 31-year-old model after she acknowledged recently using cocaine.Recent pictures published in Britain's Daily Mirror appeared to show Moss snorting cocaine, prompting London police Wednesday to say they were investigating the allegations.Any decision about charges, London's police chief said, should take account of the impact of the case on young people.Sir Ian Blair, the commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, told reporters that he had been involved in the decision to investigate Moss.He said he didn't wish to comment directly on the case, but added: "We have to look at the impact of this kind of behavior on impressionable young people and if there is evidence, something should be done about it."I can remember being asked a question about a previous individual who was given a caution. I think that was a wrong decision."London's police generally investigate drug dealers rather than users, but that policy is "adaptable to the impact of events," Blair said.

RUPERT BACKS MOSS' 'LESBIAN' ANTICS

British actor RUPERT EVERETT has leaped to the defence of disgraced supermodel KATE MOSS, after newspaper reports over the weekend (18SEP05) claimed she had romped with other women.

On Sunday, British newspaper News Of The World alleged Moss had indulged in cocaine-fuelled lesbian sex with JUDE LAW's ex-wife SADIE FROST and English actress DAVINIA TAYLOR.

The news came only four days after the Daily Mirror newspaper published photographs of Moss allegedly snorting cocaine during a recording session for on/off boyfriend PETE DOHERTY's band BABYSHAMBLES.

And openly gay Everett is shocked by the "homophobic" nature of the reports which also revealed the model's drug habit.

Everett, 46, says, "Along with the revelations of drug taking, which are supposedly negative, come headlines about her lesbianism, as if that is negative too. It's shocking the way it is reported. What's wrong with her having had sex with another woman?"

That's right...what's wrong with it??!!! I totally support it! :P

(Thisislondon.com)Kate faces police quiz :o By Charlotte Gill, Nicole Lampert and Ben Taylor, Daily Mail 21 September 2005 Kate Moss was ditched by the high street fashion chain H&M yesterday as Scotland Yard prepared to interview her about her alleged cocaine binge H&M, whose low-cost clothes are a favourite with teenage girls, had paid her a reported £1million to pose in a range of clothes designed by her friend Stella McCartney. After initially accepting an apology from the model over her drug-taking, the Swedish firm reviewed its decision in the face of widespread condemnation of the example she was setting its young customers. The change of heart may trigger a domino effect by other labels which use Moss such as Dior, Chanel, Burberry and the cosmetics giant Rimmel, which like H&M gears its products towards the youth market. If it does the model, believed to be worth £30million, could see her £4million-a-year career unravelling before her eyes. Yesterday's bold statement from H&M will do her no favours. 'H&M is strongly against drugs and for many years has actively supported the drug preventing organisation Mentor Foundation,' it said. 'After having evaluated the situation, H&M has decided that a campaign with Kate Moss is inconsistent with H&M's clear dissociation of drugs.' The Mentor Foundation is a not-for-profit international organisation which works to prevent drug misuse among children and young people. It is not known if H&M will recoup any of the money it paid Moss for the campaign. The pictures for Miss McCartney's range, taken several months ago by Mario Sorrenti, were due to be launched in November. The designer is said to be 'apoplectic with rage' at Moss. A source close to her says she feels particularly let down because it was she who suggested the model to H&M. The source said she was determined not to be associated with Moss's drug-taking lifestyle. Most of the other companies who use Moss have maintained a stony silence over the controversy, but industry experts say they may drop the model in the long run. Although H&M has jettisoned the millions it spent on its campaign, other companies will be reluctant to pull the plug on pre-booked adverts in the press and on TV in the run-up to Christmas. Some insiders predict they will wait for their contracts with her to end before looking for a new face to represent their brand. The police probe into Moss's conduct has been ordered by Assistant Commissioner Tarique Ghaffur, head of the Yard's Specialist Crime Directorate. He wants officers to interview Moss when she returns from New York, where she has been for the city's fashion week. She is expected back for London Fashion Week today. The 31-year-old model, who has a two-year-old daughter, was captured on video taking cocaine two weeks ago at a studio in West London where her rock star boyfriend Pete Doherty, 26, and his band Babyshambles were recording. Detectives will also seek to question Doherty and anyone else who was present. Mick Jones, formerly of The Clash, is producing the album which Babyshambles were making. Last Friday the Metropolitan Police said it would investigate Moss's behaviour 'if a complaint is received'. Since then Yard chiefs are understood to have been stung by criticism that they were not honouring the word of Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Ian Blair's last February when he promised to tackle the scourge of middle-class cocaine abuse. Sir Ian said then: 'There are people in the capital who believe that they are in some way taking harm-free cocaine. There are no areas of the capital which are exempt from the law on drugs.' The aim of the inquiry will be to find out where the drugs came from with a view to arresting the supplier. As such, Moss and her entourage are likely to be treated as 'witnesses'. Moss is expected in London for the catwalk show of her friend Sadie Frost's label FrostFrench. Earlier this week friends described how Moss had lesbian sex sessions with Miss Frost and actress Davinia Taylor. The pair are said to be planning to link arms at the show in a gesture of defiance.

(Yahoo.com)Police Look Into Moss Cocaine AllegationsWed Sep 21, 1:00 PM ETAllegations that Kate Moss recently used cocaine are being investigated, Metropolitan Police said Wednesday as Burberry and Chanel announced they were dropping the supermodel. Confirmation of the investigation came a day after Hennes & Mauritz, Europe's largest fashion retailer, canceled plans to use the 31-year-old model in an upcoming ad campaign. The decision to drop the campaign came after Moss acknowledged last week that British tabloid reports of her recent cocaine use were true. H&M initially said it would proceed with the campaign, but company spokeswoman Liz Asarnoj said Tuesday that "after evaluating the situation, we have decided that a campaign with Kate Moss is not consistent with H&M's clear disassociation with drugs." Chanel, the French fashion house, said Wednesday it wouldn't renew Moss' contract when it expires next month. "The contract was always going to end in October," said Julie Le Blevec, spokeswoman for Chanel perfumes. Moss has been the face of Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle perfume since 2002. Burberry also said it was canceling a planned campaign involving Moss. London's police generally investigate drug dealers rather than users, but that policy is "adaptable to the impact of events," said Ian Blair, commissioner of the Metropolitan Police. Blair told reporters he wouldn't comment directly, but added: "We have to look at the impact of this kind of behavior on impressionable young people and if there is evidence, something should be done about it. (Mirror.co.uk)22 September 2005KATE LOSS: IT JUST GETS WORSE More big names ditch drugs shame model -Top cop backs a probe into coke snort shockerBy Stephen Moyes And Justine SmithCOSMETICS giant Rimmel today added further humiliation for cocaine shame model Kate Moss (left) who was yesterday dumped by three fashion houses to dump, losing a large chunk of her £4million income. The devastated 31-year-old got the axe from Chanel, Burberry and Gloria Vanderbilt - as police chief Sir Ian Blair backed the decision to investigate her drug abuse. And today Rimmel, who have used Moss in their advertising campaigns since 2001, said it was reviewing her contract. A spokesman said: "Rimmel London is shocked and dismayed by the recent press allegations surrounding Kate Moss's behaviour." Their move comes a day after clothes giant H&M scrapped Kate's £1million contract. But Christian Dior, H Stern and Fred Paris have so far pledged to stand by the star.Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Ian said he was involved in the decision to probe Kate's drug use after Mirror revelations she snorted five lines of cocaine in 40 minutes with lover Pete Doherty in a London record studio. He said: "We have to look at the impact of this kind of behaviour on impressionable young people and if there is evidence something should be done about it. If we have an allegation about a person who is so much in the public eye and a role model it seems to me important that we investigate."Maximum penalty for possessing cocaine is six months in jail, a £5,000 fine or both. But police have indicated Kate could escape with a warning if she admits the crime. Sir Ian, who in February vowed to clamp down on middle- class drug users, is known to be against such a move.He has hit out as the soft treatment of celebrities caught snorting cocaine - such as James Hewitt who was let off with a caution last September. He said: "I can remember a previous individual who was given a caution. I think that was a wrong decision."Kate, 31, was in tears when Chanel told her it would not be renewing her £750,000-a-year contract as the face of Coco Mademoiselle perfume. Chanel's Julie Le Blevec said: "Kate has a contract until the end of October."We are not planning to stop the adverts before then."The firm insisted the axe had nothing to do with drug abuse. But a source said: "Bosses do not want the risk of this happening again. Kate has been great for them but enough is enough and the end has come."Burberry added: "Kate has worked successfully with Burberry over the years."However, we have never had a contract with her to be the face of Burberry."We had one project scheduled with Kate for this autumn and in the circumstances both she and Burberry have mutually agreed it is inappropriate to go ahead."Kate has always been highly professional for Burberry. We are saddened by her circumstances and hope she overcomes her problems as soon as possible."Denim firm Gloria Vanderbilt boss Jack Gross said: "We would have second thoughts about using Kate Moss again. We weren't aware of any issues with Kate prior to this campaign."PR guru Max Clifford warned the model's career will collapse if she does not take drastic action. He added: "She has a problem which could damage her career, her earnings and her life. Unless she goes on TV saying she's giving up things will get worse."Elle Macpherson said of Kate: "She's in a very uncomfortable position. I'm sure it's difficult for her right now."Last night one of the firms that still employ Kate backed their decisions. H Stern said: "We chose Kate because she is a style icon and everything beyond that is her personal and private life."Dior added: "Is she still representing the brand? Good question. I can't answer that."But both Rimmel and Fred Paris refused to comment. Boots, who sell Rimmel make-up said: "We stick by their decision."Kate, who has has yet to speak about the Mirror's revelations, last night failed to show up for friend Sadie Frost's lingerie show at the London Fashion Week.An insider said: "There was a huge buzz over whether Kate would appear. There was disappointment when she didn't."

Hewitt: 'H&M Bosses Have Done Moss a Favor'By WENN ............................................Hollywood actress Jennifer Love Hewitt believes bosses at fashion retail chain H&M have done Kate Moss "a favor" by dumping her as the company's spokesmodel. Moss lost her $1.8 million contract with H&M yesterday, following allegations of drug-taking, and fashion giant Chanel followed suit today, announcing it has "no plan" to renew her contract when it ends next month. And I Know What You Did Last Summer star Hewitt believes the action will prompt Moss to get help. She says, "I have to say that I think maybe they did her a favor, and maybe she'll actually get help. Coffee's one thing, but coke is another. It's not something you want to really have as a problem in your life. "I think we have to kind of stop rewarding bad behavior and actually start helping people. "You know when you're out in public that there are gonna be people watching you, so you should just try to act like somebody that you would wanna be proud of if they get a photo of you. Not that you should always feel like you're always working, but it goes with the job, I think." The woes for Moss began when a photograph appeared in British newspaper the Daily Mirror last Thursday showing the model snorting what appeared to be cocaine. Moss Slams Crack Claims :D

Disgraced supermodel Kate Moss has slammed new newspapers reports she is using crack cocaine, as more fashion houses consider dropping the troubled beauty from their advertising campaigns.

The model is furious at The Sun's allegations today (22SEP05), that she smokes rocks of crack twice a week, as well as snorting cocaine and taking ecstasy tablets.

Moss' contracts with H+M, Burberry and Chanel have been cancelled after photographs of Moss allegedly snorting cocaine was published in last week's (15SEP05) Daily Mirror newspaper.

The supermodel's lawyer Gerrard Tyrell says his client "specifically denied" the crack allegations.

After Chanel and Burberry announced yesterday (21SEP05) they would no longer use Moss in their ads, her own contracts with Gloria Vanderbilt and Christian Dior appear to be under threat.

Jack Gross, chief executive of Vanderbilt, says, "We would have second thoughts about using Kate Moss again. We weren't aware of any issues with Kate prior to this campaign."

A spokesperson for Christian Dior admitted they were unsure of Moss' future with the French designer, explaining, "Is she still representing the brand? Good question, I can't answer that."

Meanwhile, jewellery firm H Stern is standing by the troubled model, releasing a statement saying, "We chose Kate because she is a style icon and everything beyond that is her personal and private life."

By Mike Collett-White

Thu Sep 22, 3:35 PM ET

LONDON (Reuters) - British supermodel Kate Moss broke her silence on

Thursday a week after a newspaper alleged she had snorted cocaine,

apologising to friends, family and business associates for her

behavior.

But her statement made no specific reference to a report in The Mirror

tabloid featuring grainy pictures that apparently showed the

31-year-old taking large quantities of cocaine. Moss has previously

denied taking hard drugs.

"I take full responsibility for my actions," she said in a statement

released by the Storm Model Management agency.

"I also accept that there are various personal issues that I need to

address and have started taking the difficult, yet necessary, steps to

resolve them."

The scandal has already prompted British retailer Burberry and

Swedish-based fashion house Hennes and Mauritz to sever ties with one

of the most famous faces in fashion, raising doubts over whether she

can continue a successful modeling career.

France's Chanel said it would not renew her contract when it expires

next month, and on Thursday a spokeswoman for the Rimmel cosmetic brand

said the company was "shocked" by the reports and that its deal with

Moss was now "under review."

Moss added: "I want to apologize to all of the people I have let down

because of my behavior which has reflected badly on my family, friends,

co-workers, business associates and others."

Her lawyer, Gerrard Tyrrell, said his client had nothing to add to the

brief statement at this stage.

ANOTHER COMEBACK?

Moss has courted controversy before.

In 1998, she checked into London's Priory Clinic suffering from

"exhaustion" and announced the following year that she had spent the

previous decade modeling "drunk."

Her on-again, off-again relationship with volatile British rocker Pete

Doherty, a confessed drug addict, has also attracted tabloid attention

in recent months.

And in July she won substantial libel damages over claims by The Sunday

Mirror that she collapsed in a cocaine-fuelled coma in Barcelona in

2001. The newspaper also apologised.

British police said on Wednesday they would investigate the latest

allegations of drug abuse, although any probe would require more

evidence than newspaper photos before it could proceed.

Opinion is divided over whether the scandal will end a career worth an

estimated 4 million pounds a year.

Public relations expert Max Clifford said her career was "rapidly

disintegrating," while Lisa Armstrong, fashion editor at The Times,

said a comeback could be on the cards.

"British survivors of rock 'n' roll living have an uncanny knack of

becoming national treasures," she wrote.

Moss, who has a two-year-old daughter, was discovered by a modeling

agency as a 14-year-old schoolgirl, and her waifish good looks have

graced the covers of countless magazines.

(Rush/Mulloy)Fourth firm may blow off model Moss BY NANCY DILLONDAILY NEWS STAFF WRITER Runway rebel Kate Moss was nearly stripped of yet another modeling gig yesterday, but experts predict the furor over her alleged cocaine use will blow over soon.Coty-owned cosmetics giant Rimmel became the latest firm to express "shock" over tabloid photos showing Moss apparently arranging and snorting lines of white powder. Rimmel said yesterday it was "currently reviewing her contract."The move comes after Burberry, Chanel and H&M dumped the proto-waif earlier in the week and London's Metropolitan Police said it was looking into the damaging drug allegations.Moss, 31, finally broke her silence yesterday and released a public apology taking "full responsibility for my actions" and acknowledging "that there are various personal issues I need to address."The supermodel's dramatic fall is "hypocritical" - and almost certainly temporary, said two fashion-industry experts. "This is not news. Most models do cocaine. And Chanel and Burberry hired her for the fact that she is a cutting-edge personality who brings a whiff of rock 'n' roll to their brands," said Michael Gross, author of "Model: The Ugly Business Of Beautiful Women.""Of course she'll bounce back," Gross added, expressing respect for her work. "I predict either Dior will triple her contract or some jeans company will come along and give her a giant deal that generates a huge blast of publicity."Others pointed out that Moss was allegedly "hoovering" cocaine during her spare time, not on a major client's dime."This woman wasn't missing deadlines or snorting with a baby in her right hand. This didn't affect her professionally," said Donal McIntyre, the British documentarian behind the 1999 fashion-industry exposé "Undercover: Fashion Victims.""I hope she gets better for her own health. But the people who gave her these contracts are as immersed in the world of excessive alcohol and drug abuse as she is," he said. "She's probably a hotter property now than ever before. If not for the media firestorm, she'd still have all her contracts."

(Pagesix.com)NEW KATE MOSS SHOCKER SIENNA Miller must be thrilled that Kate Moss' life is going to hell in a Gucci handbag. Miller went thermonuclear when reports surfaced that before he nailed the nanny, her lover Jude Law had wild three-way sex with a coked-up Moss and his ex, Sadie Frost. Before she took him back, Miller forced Law to make a list of all the women he'd slept with — but he'd omitted Moss' name. Now the Daily Telegraph in London reports Burberry, which dropped Moss in the wake of the coke scandal, will likely hire Miller as her replacement. Miller has ordered Law to keep it in his pants and keep away from Frost and Moss, or else. Meanwhile, Moss' contract with cosmetics giant Rimmel will likely be torn up, insiders say, following in the footsteps of H&M and Chanel. And we're told Jefferson Hack, father of Moss' daughter, Lila Grace, is now pressing for sole custody. Of course, PAGE SIX readers saw this coming. Back in January, when Moss and smack-rocker Pete Doherty first hooked up, we quoted a Moss pal: "Kate's friends think this is a really bad idea. He's a bad influence. They're really worried about her daughter."

It's bad enough that Kate Moss has lost some jobs because she dabbled

in the snow, but now a controversial religion wants the model to join

their drug rehab program. Scientology, which seems to work its way into

every other celebrity newsbyte, is reportedly trying to get a message

to Moss.

According to MSNBC's The Scoop, Moss, who was recently photographed

snorting lines of coke, is the latest target for Scientology's helping

hand. A well-placed source told The Scoop that members were "reaching

out" to Moss in her time of need.

"Scientology has become quite proactive in reaching out to people,"

says the source. "Kate is a woman who needs help and Scientology feels

that they can steer her in the right direction."

The source went on to say that Scientologists will be encouraging Moss

to work with Narconon, a program with ties to Scientology. While one

source was ready to talk, Greg LaClaire, head of the Scientology's

Celebrity Center refused to comment on Moss, saying, "We don't talk

police confiscated alcohol from his band at breakfast time on Friday.

Babyshambles frontman Doherty, 26, was in Dundee on tour when he and

two other men were stopped by police. A Dundee City Council by-law

makes it an offence to drink alcohol in public places.

A Tayside Police spokeswoman said: "We can confirm that three men were

stopped by officers in the Nethergate area of Dundee city centre at

around 8.45am. They had alcohol taken from them, which was disposed of.

They were given a warning and were allowed on their way."

A spokesman for Doherty said: "I presume he would not have known there

are different drinking laws in Dundee."

Doherty has claimed people are "obsessed" with the hype surrounding his

on/off girlfriend Kate Moss, who recently issued a public apology

following allegations of cocaine abuse.

The model has lost three modelling contracts and is being investigated

by Scotland Yard following the allegations.

In an interview with Dundee's Radio Tay, Doherty said: "A lot of people

basically are obsessed with the missus and I don`t know really ...

she's just a bird from South London."

He later added: "I can't get my head round it really."

Speaking to the radio station about the band, he said: "It's just

really exciting to be doing at last what we do best - the only thing we

can do really - just play tunes."

Babyshambles are due to play a sold-out concert at Dundee's Fat Sams

nightclub.
