It was an up-and-down 2007 for Marie Osmond, who says her children kept her strong through the drama.

"I have great kids. I love my kids, you know that, and it's OK," Osmond, 48, tells Extra. "It's OK to be alone, and it's OK to be busy. It's a choice you make to be positive with what comes at you in life."

While dancing into third place on Dancing with the Stars, Osmond, who has eight children, had a rough year with her family.

Father George, 90, died in November, her 20-year marriage to record producer Brian Blosil dissolved in March, and her teenage son Michael checked into rehab. Plus, Osmond herself fainted on live national TV.

And while Osmond is mulling a DWTS tour with dancing partner Jonathan Roberts and a possible talk show, she is enjoying time with her children.

"I'd love to sing opera, I love theater," Osmond says. "But truly, when you get to a certain place in your life, the joy comes watching your kids."

Marie Osmond gave another emotional performance on US TV series Dancing with the Stars and was cheered on by a tearful Donny in the audience.

It was too much for her older brother, who was visibly moved in the studio audience.

The singer danced the Rumba and the Jive scoring impressive totals of 25 out of 30 and 24 out of 30 respectively.

It won’t be known until tomorrow’s results show if it’s enough to put her through to next week’s semi-final, in what is the most competitive season yet.

When asked how she was coping with the recent loss of father, George Osmond, the star said:

“I’m doing great. I opened up the bible right after my dad died, and it said there’s a time to mourn and a time to dance.”

She added: “It was like my dad was saying it. I’m doing this for him.”

The Osmond kin remembered their dad last week in a funeral service that included as much music and laughter as tears.

Marie Osmond referenced Dancing with the Stars during the service.

She said: “I’m so glad he’s dancing with my mother now. He’s dancing in the stars.”

Marie Osmond Gets Fall '09 Talk Show

Marie Osmond, recently seen tapping her toes in “Dancing With the Stars,” will return to center stage, agreeing to a deal with syndicator Program Partners for upcoming daytime talk show "Marie," set to launch in fall 2009.

"I like the philosophy that Program Partners brought to the table," Ms. Osmond said Tuesday at a NATPE press conference announcing the show. "They're giving me the freedom to do some things that I feel strongly about, and the timing is right for a show like this."

Ms. Osmond first hit the airwaves in 1976 in prime-time series “Donny & Marie.” She returned to television first in the 1995 ABC sitcom “Maybe This Time” and then with brother Donny in 1998 to co-host “Donny and Marie,” a talk/entertainment show from Sony that lasted two seasons.

Program Partners now becomes the first distrib to officially announce programming for fall 2009. Other series rumored to be in the pipeline include "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" from Twentieth and "Power of 10" from Sony.

The new show comes on the heels of Ms. Osmond's success on “Dancing Wth the Stars,” in which she finished third. She also drew national attention for personal traumas during the competition, including fainting during week five and her father's death in week seven.

Program Partners also is distributing “Family Court” for the fall season.

"Marie Osmond is unique in this industry," said Josh Raphaelson, co-founder of Program Partners. "She is a star with an authenticity that makes her relatable to every woman in America."

Talking Crazy

Marie Osmond has confirmed that she's getting her own talk show in 2009. Oprah has nothing to worry about. The show doesn't have a title so far, but I'm going to take a wild guess and say they are going to call it "The Marie Osmond Show." Hollywood is really creative that way.

Marie said, "I want it to be a fun show, that girlfriend destination where we can all laugh a little bit, cry a little bit and just enjoy life." And faint a little and piss a little, because that's what menopausal woman do!

They will give a talk show to ANYONE. I mean...Gabrielle Carteris, Carnie Wilson, Tempestt Bledsoe, Sharon Osbourne, Tony Danza, Magic Johnson and Chevy Chase! Now you can add Marie Osmond to that mess list. I shouldn't have said Carnie, because that was some good trash.

The only way I will watch this is if she has a daily segment of "hot topics" like on The View. Instead of discussing the day's events with other people, I want her to discuss them with her dolls. You just know she talks to them before she goes to bed and tucks them in and shit. Besides Marie's dolls probably have a higher IQ than Sherri Shepherd.

:o   And which America would that be?

Not to be nasty to her as I've enjoyed her on occassion. But notice I use the term "on occassion" as in not seeing her more then once every ten years.

I Take It Back, This Is Creepier Than The Bindi Irwin Doll

Posted Image

Do you think Marie Osmond shares wigs with her dolls? She probably does more than that. I'm sure her favorite Friday night activity involves dressing up just like her dolls and having a Tyra Banks' style panty-party. They get into their girly underwear, have pillow fights, practice kissing on each other and they talk about boys. Marie even plays a practical joke on them by putting their hands in warm water to get them to pee in their pants while they are sleeping. When they don't, because they are dolls, Marie breaks into a cry fit and starts tearing her dolls' eyes out.

Here's Marie at the NY Toy Show yesterday.

Unauthorized Bio Claims Marie Osmond Attempted Suicide

A shocking new biography claims Marie Osmond suffered mental illness as a child and attempted suicide. Randy Jernigan's expose also alleges Osmond lied about being abused as a child; suffered an eating disorder as a teen; lost her virginity at the age of 17 to late singer Andy Gibb; and split from her basketball player ex-husband Stephen Craig when she caught him naked in a hot tub with her personal assistant.

Jernigan's Marie Osmond: An Unauthorized Biography - out this summer - alleges Osmond made up the child abuse claims after editors asked her to "juice up" her 2001 autobiography.

He tells Star magazine, "It wasn't true. She made it up, according to a lot of people I have spoken to. To this day, Marie has never explained what the actual abuse was."

Osmond's spokeswoman failed to respond to WENN's enquiries.

Osmonds to host Miss USA in Las Vegas

Donnie and Marie Osmond will host the upcoming Miss USA pageant.

The Miss Universe Organization says the brother-and-sister, song-and-dance stars will perform on the NBC Universal show April 11 from the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. The network owns the pageant with real estate mogul Donald Trump.

The rival Miss America pageant crowned its 2008 queen in the same casino in January.

Pageant executives say the telecast will represent the first time Donny and Marie Osmond have hosted a prime-time show together since 2000.

Marie Osmond recently competed in ABC's "Dancing With the Stars." Donnie Osmond is appearing in "College Road Trip," a Disney comedy starring Martin Lawrence and Raven Symone.

The current Miss USA, Rachel Smith of Tennessee, was crowned last year in Los Angeles.

Donny & Marie Osmond Las Vegas -Bound

People

By Mark Gray

America's most wholesome duo is headed for Sin City.

Donny and Marie Osmond, well-scrubbed as ever, announced Friday morning that they will be starring in a new Las Vegas revue, kicking off in September at the Flamingo Resort. Tickets go on sale Monday.

The 90-minute multimedia variety show will mark the first time in 29 years that they will have performed an extended residency engagement in the Nevada gambling capital.

Coincidentally, Donny, 50, and Marie Osmond, 48 (the only sister in the family), will be going head to head against their brothers – Wayne, Merrill, Jay, and Jimmy – who, also starting in September, will be starring in their own show at the Las Vegas Orleans Hotel.

In addition to Marie's memorable stint on Dancing With The Stars last season, she and Donny hosted the Miss USA pageant in Las Vegas and will be hosting NBC's America’s Favorite Mom on May 11, Mother's Day.

The Flamingo's current attraction, Toni Braxton, recently canceled several of her shows, due to illness. She is scheduled to resume performances in May. The hotel would not confirm if the Osmonds would be serving as her replacement.

Osmond 'Reunites With First Husband'

Marie Osmond has reportedly reunited with her first husband Stephen Craig after 24 years apart.

The singer, who divorced record producer Brian Blosil in 2007 after 19 years of marriage, was apparently encouraged to get back together with Craig by their 26-year-old son Steve.

A friend of Osmond told the National Enquirer: "Marie and Stephen were young when they got married. But they've grown up a lot."

They added: "Stephen always said that divorcing Marie was the biggest mistake of his life. He let her go once before, but now that he's a little older and wiser, he's thrilled to be getting another chance."

Marie Osmond makes stage return for crew

Marie Osmond was determined to return to the stage a day after her son's funeral, because she didn't want to let down the crew working on her Las Vegas show.

Osmond was back in the spotlight on Tuesday to sing alongside her brother Donny in their Sin City variety act "Donny & Marie" at the Flamingo Hotel.

The performance came just one day after she laid her 18-year-old adopted son Michael Blosil to rest in an emotional ceremony in Utah.

She paid tribute to Blosil during the show, telling the crowd, "The way Osmonds survive is we keep singing. That's what we want to do tonight. I know my son would want that and this show is for him."

The grieving mom decided to make a quick return after considering the employees working on the show.

Producer Chip Lightman tells E! News, "She's having a rough time, but she's staying strong. She has seven other children that depend on her, and she's being strong for the kids.

"She's going back to work because it affects a lot of people when she doesn't work. There's over 100 people who work on the show, and Marie never wants to let people down so she's going back to work tonight."

Michael, Marie's son with ex-husband Brian Blosil, was found dead outside his Los Angeles apartment building last month.

Police believe the depressed teen jumped off a roof or balcony of the building and are treating his death as suicide.

Amazing that Marie turned down the lead in the Movie ... Grease...

the part that eventually went to Olivia Newton John...

It made Olivia a very big star and zillions of dollars too !

The movie became one of the biggest movies of the 1970s and has become a classic

Looking back, I wonder if Marie ever regrets her decision ?
