Deer Caught In Highlights

Posted Image

Billy Ray Cyrus' wife looks as confused by his highlights as we are. She looks pained, like she's been holding a fart in way too long. Here's Billy Ray with his wife, Tish, at the premiere of Hannah Montana's concert in 3D. That mess is going to make a shit load of money and Billy Ray is going to waste it all on Sun-In products and flat-irons.

Teen Wanted to Hijack Plane & Crash Into Hannah Montana Concert

Police arrested and charged a teenager Tuesday night at Nashville International Airport. Investigators said he planned to hijack a commercial airliner.

The 16-year-old boarded a plane in California bound for Nashville.

Airport police said he smuggled handcuffs and other dangerous items on board.

Airport police in Nashville learned of a possible threat on an incoming flight. "Our police unit is in constant communication," said airport spokeswoman Emily Richard. "We partner with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) who does all the security screenings here. Of course, the airlines give us heads up as well."

A tip led guards to arrest a teenage runaway from a Los Angeles flight.

Investigators said he somehow smuggled handcuffs, rope and tape onto the plane. He also had a copy of the flight plan and schedules.

Investigators said he planned to hijack the plane and order the pilots to divert the course from Nashville to Lafayette, La. The teenager wanted to crash the airliner into a Hannah Montana concert.

Sources told NewsChannel 5 the teen didn't have a chance. He was confronted on the plane and held until it landed. "There's no way he could pull it off," said Kyle Bartlett. "Why even try?"

"Sounds like a desperate cry for attention," said Tracey Gray, another airport visitor. "Handcuffs and duct tape are not going to get you where you want to go."

The teenager was taken to the Davidson County juvenile detention center where he was charged with felony terrorism. The Federal Bureau of Investigation is involved.

Richard said airport police are trained to "take things seriously, to investigate, to follow-up, to ensure passengers are safe when they travel in and out of our airport." Airport police reacted quickly. The suspect did not have a weapon, but he did have handcuffs and a plan to hijack the plane.

The tip to police likely came from his parents. He supposedly used his mother's credit card to buy the airline ticket. Sources said he may have made similar threats to do something like this in the past.

The suspect got the date wrong for the concert. It takes place Friday night instead of earlier this week.

Operation: Destroy Hannah Montana

Posted Image

A 16-year-old boy was arrested last night after the FBI believed he had plans to hijack a plane and crash it into a Hannah Montana concert. Her music is bad, but it's not THAT bad. He was taken into custody after getting off a Southwest flight in Nashville from Los Angeles. From Nashville he was supposed to fly to Louisiana.

The FBI said, "His stated intent was to hijack the airplane and commit suicide. He did indicate he intended to die in Louisiana. It appears he had a ticket to Louisiana."

Sources say he had intended to crash the plane into a Hannah Montana concert on Friday night in Lafayette, Louisiana. In his bag they found handcuffs, duct tape and a type of rope or yarn. His plans were to overthrow the plane. He is currently being held on several state charges and could face Federal charges.

The FBI dismissed the Hannah Montana claims, but methinks Disney got to their asses! They don't want anyone to know that some people are out to destroy their precious Hannah Montana.

He's going to overthrow the plane with duct tape? He should have just played the Hannah Montana CD on blast. That would have done the trick. The pilot, crew and everybody else on the plane would have called "mercy."

It's In Her Blood

Posted Image

Two new pics claiming to be 15-year-old Miley Cyrus have leaked. They are supposedly from her MySpace. The one of her in the bikini was already leaked. Homegirl needs to change her password every now and again.

I wouldn't be surprised if these pics were her. First of all, it's totally normal for 15-year-olds to ho it up like that. I'm sure you did a lot fucking worse at 15. I've seen the video. However, bitch shouldn't be putting it up on the internet. Stupid ass! She works for Disney! She can't help it though. Being a ho is in her blood. Disney breeds skanks. The moment she signed that Disney contract, she became a Disney ho.

Achy Breaky Billy, come take away your daughter's digicam!

Miley's One Step Closer To Porn

Every weekend new photos of Miley Cyrus come out that are worse than the week before. At this rate, she will be venturing into the world of child porn before we know it. I don't think anyone can look at the genesis of these photos over the past few weeks and not tell me that she has taken probably even worse photos than these. It's time someone close to her put a stop to this. Who does she want to see these photos? She is only 15 right? I know every week you say that you have seen worse on MySpace, but these are getting pretty close to the edge.

FBI Dismisses Miley Cyrus Hijacking Plot

Friday January 25, 2008

A 16-year-old from Louisiana who allegedly plotted to hijack a plane was not planning to crash it into Miley Cyrus' Hannah Montana concert, as some outlets have reported, a FBI spokesman tells the Associated Press.

Authorities arrested the teen Tuesday after a flight from Los Angeles to Nashville. The teen had handcuffs, rope, and duct tape in his possession when he was apprehended.

A mock cockpit was also found in the suspect's home, the FBI spokesman said.

Authorities believe the teen, who has not been identified by authorities because he is a minor, was suicidal.

The teen – who could face federal changes including felony terrorism — is being held at a juvenile detention center.

I Like Destiny Better

Posted Image

Miley Cyrus has legally changed her name reports UsWeekly. I didn't know this, but she was born Destiny Hope Cyrus. She has changed it to Miley Ray Cyrus. She said she's been called Miley since she was a little girl and it's the name she's always used. She used the name Ray as a tribute to her highlighted-hair daddy, Billy Ray Cyrus.

The changes start! She'll have a nose job next and blame a "deviated septum." It's all down hill from there. Honestly, I like Destiny Hope better. It will come in handy after her career ends and she's forced to do Skinemax movies in her 20s.

I'm sure her daddy doesn't care what she changes her name to as long as his checking account keeps getting filled!

'Hannah Montana' Movie: How Huge?

Miley Cyrus' concert film saw $18 mil in advance ticket sales, and will get even bigger this Super Bowl weekend -- enough to propel it to a win over ''The Eye'' and ''Rambo''

EW

Hey, it's Super Bowl weekend, sports fans! So who ya got in the big game, the Pats or Big Blue? Me? I'm going with my man Tom Brady. You know, we University of Michigan alumni with super-hot girlfriends need to stick together.

Oh, and speaking of predictions, who ya got in the box office race? Me? Erm, tough one this week. Why? Well, it is Super Bowl weekend, which means that many regular filmgoers will be staying home and watching football and all related TV shenanigans. (To be sure, if the Super Bowl were a movie that people bought tickets to watch, it would gross — get this, I'm not making this up — approximately $600 million this weekend. Seriously, that's how big it is.) Film studios, therefore, have had to get creative how they program opposite an event that pulls so many people away. In years past, horror movies have worked well on this weekend — scary movies have been No. 1 for three years running — and that's why The Eye should do nicely. But there is a major upset in the offing: The Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus concert film is poised to steal the whole thing. Sure, that would be an impressive turn of events somewhat akin to the Giants beating the Patriots, but I think it's going to happen.

'Hannah' holds box-office sway with $29M

AP

LOS ANGELES - First, she sells out a nationwide concert tour. Now Miley Cyrus and pop-star alter-ego Hannah Montana are selling out movie theaters in such record-breaking style that the film's run has been extended.

"Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert," the 3-D film chronicling her recent tour, was the biggest debut ever over Super Bowl weekend, pulling in $29 million, according to studio estimates Sunday.

Distributor Disney planned to have the movie out for only a week but now has decided to keep it in theaters until it runs its course.

The concert film — featuring 15-year-old Cyrus both as herself backstage and as her Disney Channel character, pop sensation Hannah — filled the void for fans unable to catch one of the live shows on the Hannah Montana 54-date tour.

The digital 3-D technology also gave fans the illusion of practically being at a live show, said Mark Zoradi, president of Disney's motion-picture group, who visited several packed theaters where the movie played over the weekend.

"The screaming level was unbelievable. It almost plays like a concert. At the end of a song, you have audiences clapping like you do at a concert," Zoradi said. "Parents who weren't able to get concert tickets, now they were able to take their kids and satisfy that demand, and kids were in a way able to be up close and personal, with the best seats in the house."

The film surpassed the previous Super Bowl record of $21.6 million set by "When a Stranger Calls," which opened over the same weekend two years ago.

Lionsgate's "The Eye," a remake of the Japanese horror hit, opened at No. 2 with $13 million. "The Eye" stars Jessica Alba as a blind concert violinist whose vision is restored by a corneal transplant that also results in terrifying visions.

"Desperate Housewives" co-star Eva Longoria Parker delivered a dud with her first top-billed movie, "Over Her Dead Body," which opened with a weak $4.6 million to finish at No. 11. Distributed by New Line, the movie stars Longoria Parker as a dead woman whose ghost tries to break up a romance between her fiance (Paul Rudd) and his new girlfriend.

Playing in just 683 theaters, "Hannah Montana" broke another record: never before has a movie in so few cinemas premiered at the top of the box office chart.

The movie averaged a whopping $42,460 a theater, compared to an average of $5,337 in each of 2,436 cinemas for "The Eye" and about $2,327 in each of 1,977 theaters for "Over Her Dead Body."

The grosses for "Hannah Montana" were boosted by higher admission prices many theaters charged because of the 3-D format. Tickets for "Hannah Montana" ran as high as $15, roughly 50 percent more than the top price for other movies.

The success of "Hannah Montana" showcased the commercial prospects for an upcoming wave of 3-D releases, both new movies such as this summer's adaptation of Jules Verne's "Journey to the Center of the Earth" and rereleases such as the first two "Toy Story" films in 3-D versions.

Digital projection allows sharper and more realistic images than old-fashioned film 3-D, a 1950s fad revived only occasionally over the decades. Now, many big studio films come out in 3-D versions.

Those releases typically do three times more business than 2-D versions, said Michael Lewis, chairman and co-founder of Real D, whose digital-projection 3-D technology was used in most theaters showing "Hannah Montana" and will be used in an upcoming wide release of another concert film, "U2 3D," now playing in limited release.

The 3-D technology eventually could expand turn theaters into venues showing live concerts and sporting events, Lewis said.

"There are a lot of places, a lot of small towns where we have Real D in place where U2's not going to go, Hannah Montana's not going to play there," Lewis said. "They'll be able to see it in theaters, and in my view maybe with a better seat and better experience than if they were actually there live."

Hollywood's box-office roll continued, with the top-12 movies taking in $101.5 million, up 43 percent from Super Bowl weekend a year ago. Movie attendance so far this year is up nearly 11 percent, according to box-office tracker Media By Numbers.

Estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday at U.S. and Canadian theaters, according to Media By Numbers LLC. Final figures will be released Monday.

1. "Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert," $29 million.

2. "The Eye," $13 million.

3. "27 Dresses," $8.4 million.

4. "Juno," $7.5 million.

5. "Meet the Spartans," $7.1 million.

6. "Rambo," $7 million.

7. "The Bucket List," $6.9 million.

8. "Untraceable," $5.4 million.

9. "Cloverfield," $4.9 million.

10. "There Will Be Blood," $4.8 million.

Hannah Montana Is Taking Over The World!

Posted Image

Hannah Montana slaughtered her competition at the box office this weekend. The "Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour" 3-D movie only opened on 683 screens, but still brought in $29 million. That's around $42,000 per screen. Jessica Alba's "The Eye" didn't stand a chance. It came in second with only $13 million.

As expected, Eva LongWHORIA's movie flopped. It managed to bring in $4.6 million. It still did better than Jessica Simpson's last movie. Here's how the weekend box office looked:

1. Hannah Montana - $29 million

2. The Eye - $13 million

3. 27 Dresses - $8.4 million

4. Juno - $7.4 million

5. Meet the Spartans - $7.1 million

6. Rambo - $7 million

7. The Bucket List - $6.8 million

8. Untraceable - $5.4 million

9. Cloverfield - $4.9 million

10. There Will Be Blood - $4.7 million

Hannah Montana scares the shit out of me. She's taking over the world. I wonder which Presidential candidate she's going to support, because that's the winner right there.

Hannah Montana release savvy or sneaky?

AP

NEW YORK - Hurry, hurry, hurry! The movie event of the year! One week only!

It's one of the oldest tricks in the marketing book — the limited-time offer — and The Walt Disney Co. worked it to perfection last weekend when tweens spent $31.3 million to see the studio's latest hit, "Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert."

But now that the 3-D film's run has been extended, were parents duped into rushing their kids to the theater? Or was it just another case of Disney's marketing mastery?

Dan Smith, marketing professor at Indiana University's Kelley School of Business, called the strategy "a legitimate tool."

"When you create that kind of buzz and combine it with scarcity, you're going to drive up demand," Smith said. "The model strikes me as not much different from a rock concert."

As most media companies are ceding control of when and where consumers can watch shows or listen to music, Disney is managing its content as tightly as ever. And based on the movie's results — the "Hannah Montana" film set a record for any movie opening on a Super Bowl weekend — people are falling over themselves to keep Disney's schedule.

"When you have a successful franchise, setting the time table and controlling the distribution just develops an appetite for more," said Michael Kupinski, media analyst and head of research at Noble Financial Group. "No one is as good at this as Disney."

The company rode the strength of its "Pirates of the Caribbean," "High School Musical" and "Hannah Montana" franchises to a 9 percent increase in fourth-quarter revenue and better-than-expected earnings.

Disney says it planned all along for a one-week run for the "Hannah Montana" film, envisioning it as an extension of the wildly popular concert tour that played to sold-out arenas across the country last year.

Disney has also used limited-time offers to sell anniversary or special versions of its iconic animated movies, from Snow White to Pinocchio, and has changed the terms to meet demand.

The studio extended the "Hannah Montana" run on Saturday, giving theater operators the option to show the film for as long as they like. Disney said it responded to "astounding" demand on the opening weekend.

But the company also knew long ago the movie would be a smashing success.

Advance ticket sales were higher than for any movie that was not a sequel, and the fifth-highest ever, according to online ticket seller Fandango. In fact, it has been the top-selling movie at the service since the tickets went on sale Dec. 1.

Fandango alone sold more than $9 million in advance tickets for the weekend shows of "Hannah Montana," nearly a third of the total box office. Disney says it told theater operators well in advance the company would extend the run if demand was high.

The company says it wasn't trying to manufacture scarcity to drum up demand.

"We were trying to make it like an event, like a concert," said Mark Zoradi, president of Walt Disney Studios, Motion Picture Group.

"If we were trying to make it scarce we would have had a more limited release," he said.

The movie ran on all of the country's 683 public screens equipped to handle 3D films, and averaged $45,534 per screen over the weekend. A typical blockbuster opens in 3,000 theaters and averages about $7,000 at each, according to industry statistics.

Most movies are released as broadly as possible, Smith said: "You want a large number of people to see it quickly just in case it doesn't fly."

A trend that has alarmed studios is huge opening weekends that fade quickly after a blast of negative word of mouth. That makes the first weekend even more important, Smith said.

"By limiting the run, you can eliminate the effects of bad press by forcing anyone who's interested to see the movie right away," he said.

Apparently Disney won't need to worry about an abrupt falloff in ticket sales. "Hannah Montana" received an "A" grade from moviegoers polled by CinemaScore, and Fandango said advance sales remain strong for the movie into next week.

Hannah Montana Is A Terrible Role Model

Posted Image

Consumer Reports (via OK! Magazine) is really, really mad at Hannah Montana. Like they aren't going to text or IM her for at least a week. Yeah, they are pissed! They are angry over a little scene in her new 3D concert movie. No the scene doesn't involve drinking, drugging or sexing! It involves seat belts!

They are calling Miley out for a scene in the movie where she's riding in the back of a Range Rover with her daddy. Neither of them are wearing seat belts. The driver should have hit the breaks really hard and watched the Cyrus' fly! Hey! Every good movie needs an action sequence. They even could have gotten that "stunt Hannah Montana" to do it.

Consumer Reports writes:

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, in about 55 percent of passenger vehicle fatalities in 2006 (the latest data available), the occupants were not wearing seat belts. Even worse, in the 13- to 15-year-old age group, that percentage climbs to 65 percent. Unfortunately, we’re not surprised by these grim statistics because a 2002 survey by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety showed that when parents were dropping teens off at school in the morning, nearly half the teens weren’t using seat belts.

It seems to us that Miley, her father, and Disney had a perfect opportunity to help influence teens and counteract—rather than encourage—this trend. Then again, as Hannah herself sings, "Everybody makes mistakes." Maybe Hannah, Billy and Disney, will take a tip from the rest of Hannah’s song and get it right next time around: "Nobody's Perfect! I gotta work it! Again and again 'til I get it right. Nobody's Perfect!"

Oh snap! They are fucking peeved with lil' Miley. They are even bringing the statistics out. I agree with them, so let's banish Miley for good! Send her to the place where all child stars go....Vh1!

BACK-SEAT REBEL

February 12, 2008 -- HANNAH Montana is a bad role model. No, she didn't get pregnant, overdose on drugs, or smoke a pack of Luckys. The teen idol, played by Miley Cyrus , is shown in her Disney 3-D blockbuster, "Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour," in the back of a Range Rover with her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, and neither is wearing a seat belt. The Consumer Reports Safety Blog noted yesterday that in 55 percent of passenger vehicle fatalities in 2006, the occupants were not wearing seat belts. Disney unveils new schedule

'Old Dogs,' 'Hannah Montana' set release dates

By PAMELA MCCLINTOCK

With the writers strike resolved, Disney is the latest studio to rejigger and give more shape to its release calendar through 2009 and the early part of 2010.

The Mouse House has staked out opening dates for a cluster of films, including laffer "Old Dogs," filmmaker Walt Becker's follow-up to sleeper box office hit "Wild Hogs." "Dogs," with a cast including John Travolta, Robin Williams and Seth Green, bows April 10, 2009. "Wild Hogs" opened in spring as well.

In a counterprogramming maneuver, Disney's "The Hannah Montana Movie" will debut May 1, 2009, opposite 20th Century Fox's "X-Men Origins: Wolverine."

Looking to Thanksgiving 2009, Bruce Willis futuristic cop actioner "The Surrogates" will unspool the weekend before the holiday on Nov. 20, 2009.

During the WGA walkout, studios weren't in a position to begin to round out their slates for 2009 or move pictures around, since they couldn't be sure how fast the production pipeline would be up and running. The majors are relatively confident that a new deal can be struck with actors without a walkout this summer.

Last week, Paramount made a number of changes, including moving J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek" from Christmas to May 2009.

Disney is the second studio to make a multitude of changes.

Disney rejiggered release dates for several titles, including action-adventure "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time," which will now open June 16, 2009, instead of July 10, 2009.

The move means that "Prince of Persia" will open ahead of Par's "Transformers 2" (June 26, 2009) and "Ice Age III" (July 1, 2009) versus bowing in their wake.

As a result of claiming May 1, 2009, for "Hannah Montana," Disney moved 3-D animated pic "G-Force" out of that slot to July 24. That's the second 3-D title, as well as the second toon, to bow on that date after the Weinstein Co. horror entry "Piranha 3D" and New Line's animated adventure "Planet 51."

The Mouse House also has decided to make Isla Fisher-Hugh Dancy romantic comedy "Confessions of a Shopaholic" its 2009 Valentine's Day release, instead of Sandra Bullock-Ryan Reynolds romantic comedy "The Proposal," which will now be released Sept. 25, 2009 vs. Feb. 13, 2009, when "Proposal" debuts.

Disney dated two other films: Sci-fi family adventure-comedy "Race to Witch Mountain," starring Dwayne Johnson, will bow March 13, 2009, while Tim Burton's 3-D remake of "Alice in Wonderland" will unspool a week later on March 19, 2009.

In another tweak, Disney retitled two films: "South of the Border" (Sept. 26) becomes "Beverly Hills Chihuahua," while "High School Musical 3" (Oct. 24) becomes "High School Musical 3: Senior Year."

Meanwhile, Paramount has made an additional tweak on top of last week's changes, moving back D.J. Caruso's Shia LeBeouf thriller "Eagle Eye" one month from Aug. 8 to Sept. 26. That gives Par some breathing room now that it's releasing DreamWorks' Ben Stiller laffer comedy "Tropic Thunder" on Aug. 15.

On the specialty side, the Weinstein Co. announced this week that it will bow 2008 Sundance acquisition "Where in the World Is Osama Bin Laden," the Morgan Spurlock docu generating plenty of buzz, on April 18.

Miley Cyrus: "I Need More Friends"

OK!

Though 15-year-old superstar Miley Cyrus would appear to have the world in her young hands, the Hannah Montana star says that's just not true.

"Some people think you have more privileges than other teenagers because of what you do," Miley explains. "And that's not it at all. It's actually the opposite."

Is it because her parents, including country-singing dad Billy Ray Cyrus, are too strict? "They're protective for sure," says Miley. "My mom is more strict than my dad." And when it comes to Miley's choice of close pals, her mom likes to occaionally stick her nose into her daughter's business. "You want to keep your closed circle of friends," Miley says. "And sometimes my mom is saying, 'I have a bad vibe about this person. She needs to hang out with you when I'm around just to keep you safe.'"

So what's Miley's solution to staying happy and pleasing her mom? "I need more friends. Its kind of like my quest right now just to have more true friends."

Well, Miley, we're sure there are millions of adoring fans willing to line up to apply for the job!

Miley Cyrus Gets 'Props' from Her Costar

By Kristin Boehm and Jed Dreben

She can sing, she can dance, but is Miley Cyrus a good role model for her millions of adoring fans? "Definitely," says her Hannah Montana costar Shanica Knowles.

"I'm going to give her props for that. She's doing an amazing job and I’m not really surprised by her success because she definitely deserves it," Knowles told PEOPLE recently. "She is, and she always has been [a good role model]."

The 17-year-old, who plays Amber Addison in the Hannah Montana series and movie, adds: "She's really talented, and she's really spiritual and she has a good heart."

For the girls, it’s not all work and no play. Knowles reveals that despite their very busy schedules, the two make time to pal around off set.

"It’s not a ritual, but ... every Friday we have a live audience show, and me, Miley and Anna Maria will go shopping afterward or just spend the night at [Cyrus's] house, and just do fun girl things. Or she'll invite us to watch movies, eat popcorn, be goofy in our PJs."
