Brittany Murphy & Husband Talk Baby Plans and Blogs

By Jed Dreben

Originally posted Wednesday March 12, 2008 09:45 AM EDT

Brittany Murphy and her writer-director husband Simon Monjack are just weeks away from celebrating their April 12 first anniversary. Now the couple have set their sights on reaching another milestone: Starting a family.

At a W Magazine-Los Angeles Contemporary Museum of Art gala over the weekend, Monjack, 38, told PEOPLE: "Please God, next year [we're] having a family!"

"Yes! Yes!" chimed in Murphy, 30. "In about a year" they plan to have children. But, joked Monjack, "apparently, according to the Internet, I already have several!"

Murphy and her British writer-director husband already have endured their share of public scrutiny – via, as they put it, "the blogs" – over their sudden marriage

"All these ridiculous people came out and said all this nonsense when we got married, [but] thank god we had the substance and the history within that to [say], 'Yeah, whatever!'" says Monjack, who's been friends with Murphy since she was 17. "We still don't understand what happened. It's made us laugh, it's made us cry, but it's made us stronger."

So, according to Murphy, the final solution for dealing with all the negativity: "We did stop using the Internet lately," she said. "No blogs. We're a blog-free couple!"

Both Sienna Miller and Brittany Murphy approached the "Project Runway" winner at the Chateau Marmont last week while he was making the Hollywood press rounds. At the Full Picture Productions party at the Roosevelt Hotel on Wednesday, Siriano chatted with Becki Newton of "Ugly Betty" about his upcoming appearance on the show and met Eve. He was even invited to Brett Ratner's house and "was the hit of the party," our source said. "Lindsay Lohan was there, too, but he was too shy to go up to her."

Disney Says Brittany Replaced, Not Fired

OK!

Contrary to reports claiming Brittany Murphy was fired as the new voice of the Disney film Tinker Bell, a Disney rep tells OK! that Murphy actually bowed out because of a scheduling conflict.

In a statement obtained by OK!, the Disney rep says, "When John Lasseter came on board, the schedule changed, and the new schedule didn't work for her."

Disney hired Murphy to be the new voice of Tinker Bell back in 2006. Actress Mae Whitman was announced as Brittany's replacement last month.

L.A. police investigate death of Brittany Murphy

December 20, 2009 | 12:51 pm

Los Angeles police have opened an investigation into circumstances surrounding the death of actress Brittany Murphy.

Police have been dispatched to Cedars-Sinai and to the Los Angeles home where Murphy, 32, went into cardiac arrest earlier today. Police sources emphasized that their inquiry was preliminary, adding they could not say whether it would point to any criminal conduct. [Note: An earlier version of this post incorrectly said the house was located in West Hollywood.]

L.A. city firefighters responded to a call from the home in the 1800 block of Rising Glen Road. Murphy was transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

Born in Atlanta, Murphy moved to Burbank with her mother at age 13. Her film break came in the movie "Clueless" (1995), in which she starred opposite Alicia Silverstone.

Murphy has made dozens of other film appearances, including in "Girl Interrupted" (1999), "8 Mile" (2002), "The Dead Girl" (2006), and "Across the Hall" (2009). She also was featured as the voice of Luanne in the animated TV series "King of the Hill."

Murphy specialized in playing characters who were troubled teenagers or mentally disturbed, according to a biography on industry website Internet Movie Data Base.

Murphy was married in 2007 to British screenwriter Simon Monjack, the website said.

Perez Tells Lindsay Lohan, Courtney Love to Learn From Murphy's Death

Posted Sunday 20 December 03:18 PM By: PopEater Staff

It took just minutes for the word of Brittany Murphy's death to spread around the Internet, and blogger Perez Hilton is using the news not to offer up a tribute to the 'Clueless' actress, but to point out a handful of troubled Hollywood starlets who he thinks may also be knocking on death's door. Hilton is linking Murphy's death to drugs -- despite there being no official indications or reports of that yet -- saying that Lindsay Lohan and Courtney Love should go to rehab in order to avoid their own demise.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In a post on Twitter, Hilton writes: "Dear @LindsayLohan and Courtney Love, wake up!!!! Please go to rehab again and GET IT TOGETHER before it's too late! R.I.P. Brittany Murphy." In another tweet, Hilton simply states: "Drugs kill."

Another bold (and unsubstantiated) claim made by Hilton is against Murphy's husband, Simon Monjack, who he links to her death. "God will punish that husband of hers!" Hilton writes in one post without offering up any conspiracy theories or details.

Hilton doesn't exactly have the best post-death Twitter record. On the day that Michael Jackson died, he jokingly posted before it was known that Jackson passed away that the King of Pop was faking his hospitalization to avoid his upcoming tour. He was blasted on Twitter by many of his celebrity pals for the post, which he later took down.

Brittany Murphy's Husband Doesn't Want Autopsy

Posted Dec 20th 2009 5:47PM by TMZ Staff

Brittany Murphy's husband, Simon Monjack, told hospital staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center he did not want an autopsy performed on his deceased wife, multiple sources tell TMZ.

We're told, however, despite Monjack's wishes, the L.A. County Coroner's office will perform an autopsy on Murphy. As we first reported, Murphy went into cardiac arrest this morning and could not be revived.

TMZ has also learned Brittany Murphy's mother, who found Murphy unconscious in the shower and called 911, told paramedics her daughter had a history of diabetes. We have not been able to confirm if Murphy did indeed have diabetes, and if so, whether it contributed to her death.

I think Hubby's hiding something. We'll see when the results come out...if they are even conclusive.
