Lindsay Lohan has CHECKED OUT of the Betty Ford treatment center near Palm Springs ... and has entered the Cliffside rehab center in Malibu ... TMZ has learned.

 

Sources familiar with the situation tell us ... the move was APPROVED by the prosecutors, the judge and Lindsay's lawyer.

 

The gang agreed ... Betty Ford is better suited for a 30-day program, which Lohan has completed -- and she'd be better off completing the remainder of her 90-day sentence at a new place.

 

We're told ... they all agreed Cliffside in Malibu would be beneficial for Lohan and everyone signed off. She checked out of Betty Ford yesterday ... and is already settling in at Cliffside.

 

We don't know if Lindsay will be allowed to take Adderall at Cliffside ... but one source says, "It's doubtful."

Lindsay Lohan is officially free to leave rehab Wednesday ... but she's decided on her own to stay longer ... TMZ has learned.

 

Sources connected with LiLo tell TMZ ... Lindsay has told them she will stay another 3 - 4 days because she feels she needs a transition period before re-entering the free world. We're told she'd like to stay in a "lower level, sober living house" which she believes will help her recovery.

 

It sounds like B.S. for sure, given Lindsay's many failed, insincere attempts in the past. But several people connected with Lindsay -- whom we trust -- say they're "shocked" at her conduct this time around. One source said, "It's like invasion of the body snatchers. She's a different person."

 

Lindsay is still moving to NYC when she leaves rehab, and we're told she's scared about the temptations she'll face, but claims she really wants to conquer her demons this time around.

 

Even the skeptics in her life think she's serious this time.

The rehab facility that Lindsay Lohan has called home for weeks sent a letter to the judge in her probation case ... saying LiLo will lapse back into drug and alcohol abuse if she doesn't get more court-ordered therapy ... and guess what, the judge agreed.

 

TMZ obtained a copy of the letter from Cliffside Malibu, in which CEO and founder Richard Taite tells the judge, Lindsay needs 3, 50-minute sessions a week for the next 16 months. Then Taite gives an ominous warning: "If these sessions are not required by the court and attendance verified once a month to ensure accountability, it is a set up for almost certain failure."

 

The judge agreed in open court this morning, and ordered that Lindsay stay in therapy and prove a year from November that she's complied.

 

Meanwhile in court, Lindsay's lawyer Shawn Holley showed up with proof Lindsay successfully completed her 90 days of rehab.

 

 

IMO, that strongly worded "...it is a set up for almost certain failure" is unusual for a court-submitted document provided by the rehab facility.... And 3 times a week is the recommendation at this point in her recovery? Wow....

90 days in rehab didn't make Lindsay Lohan modest -- 'cause she wasted no time showing off her legs moments after leaving Cliffside Tuesday afternoon.

 

Lindsay was sporting a huge smile, a blue print mini-dress, suede-fringe jacket and some major baggage -- a big blue one -- as she got into the SUV that picked her up from the Malibu facility.

 

Sources close to Lindsay tell us she'll be staying with a sober coach somewhere in Los Angeles for the next few days.

 

As we previously reported, Lindsay's telling people in her life she feels like she needs a transition period before re-entering the real world on her own.

 

Lindsay checked into the Betty Ford Center back on May 2 to begin her court-ordered rehab stay -- and transferred to Cliffside in mid-June.

 

Gotta say, so far ... she's looking good.

Amanda Bynes is doing remarkably better ... she's stabilized, not hearing voices and it's all because of a cocktail ... TMZ has learned.

 

Sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ ... doctors at the psychiatric hospital where she's being held have given her a combination of meds -- referred to as a cocktail -- to control what appears to be schizophrenia.

 

Our sources say Amanda responded quickly and dramatically. We're told in the last 3 days, Amanda has stopped talking to herself and stopped insulting people. To the contrary, we're told she's become downright polite, even saying "please" and "thank you." She has shown no signs of violence.

 

The progress is all the more stunning because these cocktails are notoriously difficult to gauge -- getting the right combination of meds with the right doses is something of a crap shoot. Our sources say the meds take 7 to 10 days to fully kick in, so they're not declaring victory yet, but they're optimistic.

 

But there's an ironic twist. Amanda is scheduled to have a court hearing today ... where she's trying to get out of the psych hospital. The fact that she's doing better can actually help her case, but we're told doctors are confident the judge will not let her out for several reasons. First, it's unclear if the meds will work long-term. Also, it's highly uncertain she'll voluntarily take the drugs.

 

One more thing. There are reports Amanda's parents may back off the conservatorship if she does better in the psych ward. Our sources say that is "absolutely untrue." Amanda's parents feel it's essential for her to get long-term care and supervision.

I saw her co-hosting Chelsea Lately tonight and thought she did a great job. She genuinely looked healthy and appeared happy. It was great to see. Now if she can just maintain it.

I just want to say that as much as she has screwed up in the last few years, I really do hope she takes as much time as needed this go around to make this recovery permanent. On Chelsea, we got a glimpse of a mature version of her younger happier self and I really do hope for her that she succeeds.

I have not seen her on Chelsea yet, but glad to hear this rehab seems to have resinated with her. It also appears she is scared and cautious about re-entering the world (over confidence almost always leads to falling off the wagon). These are all good signs!

Post-rehab party? Just eight days after completing her 90-day court-mandated rehab stay, Lindsay Lohan was reportedly up late partying with The Wanted.

 

A source tells Us Weekly that the 27-year-old Canyons star partied all night with the British boy band at an L.A. hotel on Wednesday, Aug. 7. The insider tells Us that Lohan looked "worse for wear" upon leaving early the next morning. The actress was reportedly "escorted out" when others in her group were asked to leave due to noise complaints. According to the source, Lohan was one of the last people to leave.

 

The New York Post's Page Six reports that Lohan was at the all-night rager with The Wanted's Max George, 24, whom she was rumored to be dating back in December 2012. A representative for Lohan told Page Six, "Although Lindsay did visit her good friend Max, this is otherwise a completely false story."

 

Lohan was released from Cliffside Malibu Rehab Center on July 30, after pleading no-contest to reckless driving and lying to police in March 2013. The Mean Girls star, who has been in rehab at least six times, told Piers Morgan in a interview in May, "I don't think I need to be on lockdown for three months. I don't think that's rehab. Constantly sending me to rehab is pointless. The first few times I was court-ordered to rehab it was like a joke, like killing time."

 

"I think there are other things I could do instead of going to a rehab center that would benefit me more," she added. "The best thing they could do for me would be to make me go abroad to different countries and work with children."

 

Lohan will appear in an upcoming episode of Oprah's Next Chapter, and is filming an OWN docuseries that will premiere in early 2014.

I don't really buy it either, but then again it is possible that she mainly just took a ton of adderall - if you don't have ADD it works just like coke and many users consider it even better than coke because 1) it lasts a lot longer and 2) if you have a prescription you feel as though you're not doing "drugs" (even though you clearly are).

 

I think she took adderall all day, every day (she tried to fight the rehab center into letting her keep her "medicine") -- and if so, she really wouldn't need coke, maybe just once in awhile when she was on a really big binge.

 

That being said, I read an article or two on the interview but didn't bother watching. At this point I don't care what she has to say, we've heard it all before. Get back to me after you've had a clean record for a few years, then give an interview about what it's like to have conquered your demons. I'll believe it when I see it.

The only thing that would impress me at this point is if LiLo cuts White Oprah out of her life. Until then, I'm afraid it's just another round of lather, rinse, and repeat where her "sobriety" is concerned.

First, I don't understand why all these celebs are suddenly backing her, e.g. Oprah. I thought she was a pain to work with because she didn't show up to work due to being out of her mind. And, you know, she is a thief. I would think by now she has burned every bridge. Why is everyone trying to help her out now? It is just so strange that other celebs have gone to rehab and never had this kind of support. I can't figure this one out.

 

Two, she looks better without all that botox. Her duck lips were not attractive. She looks much younger and prettier now that it is all out of her system.

The 27-year-old actress is soaking up her post-rehab freedom without overdoing it -- attending the recent Purple Magazine & Proenza Schouler Event held during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in NYC. The redheaded Long Island native showed up to the event on Wednesday, Sept. 11, looking refreshed and absolutely gorgeous.

 

The Canyons star stepped out for the evening showing off her curves in a tight-fitted, cleavage-baring black vintage dress with an Alaia belt. She accessorized the piece with Christian Louboutin heels, and Cartier and Karma El Kahlil jewelry. Lohan was also joined by jewelry designer friend Markus Molinari and stylists Samantha Myer and Johnny Wujek.

 

The sophisticated look is certainly a step up from a more haphazard ensemble she sported two weeks ago. On Aug. 20, the former Disney starlet dared to bare when she was spotted wearing a long white blouse with no pants heading to dinner.

 

The star seems to be changing her ways since being released from a 90-day court-mandated rehab stay on July 30. In a sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey on an episode of Oprah's Next Chapter that aired Aug. 18, Lohan explained she hopes to "work really hard and stay focused" and "regain the trust of people" in her career. Since then, Lohan cancelled a trip to Europe (after Winfrey voiced her concerns) and has reportedly moved into an apartment with her younger sister Ali, 19, in NYC's Greenwich Village.

Dina Lohan was arrested for drunk driving in Long Island, NY last night ... and cops say her blood alcohol level was more than TWICE the legal limit.

 

Lindsay Lohan's 50-year-old mother was pulled over on the Northern State Parkway by New York State Police around 11 pm Thursday night ... after she was allegedly going 77mph in a 55 in her white BMW.

 

During the stop, cops say she appeared intoxicated -- and tested her blood alcohol level, which registered at .20 -- more than twice the legal limit of .08.

 

According to officials, "Lohan made an allegation that she was injured during the course of the arrest" ... but when medical personnel responded to the scene and determined she was fine, Dina "recanted her claim."

 

Lohan was hauled to a nearby station where she was booked on two counts of driving while intoxicated and one count of speeding.

 

After posing for a squinty-eyed mug shot, Lohan was released to a sober 3rd party. So far, no word on WHO picked up Lohan from the station.

 

Lohan is due back in court later this month.

 

Dina's been on a party tear this month -- TMZ obtained a photo of Lohan partying like a drunken sailor at a giant party over Labor Day weekend.

 

People at the party tell us she was a mess that night -- slurring her speech and zoning out.

9:20 AM PT -- Our Lohan sources tell us, Lindsay was NOT the person who picked Dina up from the station -- in fact, we're told Lindsay didn't find out about the arrest until the story broke this morning.

The pic shows the photogenic pair, pre-Hollywood fame, modeling spring ensembles for a catalog. Dunst, who's older than Lohan by four years, wears a pretty floral dress with lace collar and a floppy hat, while a cute Lohan hams it up in a very early-'90s outfit -- a stone-washed denim jacket with matching denim skirt.

 

Lohan's social media activity has been on the uptick since her court-mandated 90-day rehab wrapped up in late July. The Canyons actress launched her own website last month. And, on the same day she posted the nostalgic picture, she announced she had reached 7 million Twitter followers! "You guys I can't thank you enough. Seriously. Having so much fun during #NYFW and loving you all! All 7m of you!!" she wrote.

Same Ol’ Song & Dance: Lindsay Lohan ‘Insanely Belligerent,’ Confrontational At New York Karaoke Bar

Lindsay Lohan behaved “insanely belligerent” — and got into a verbal fight with a worker — during an all-night kickback last week with pals at New York’s Sing Sing Karaoke bar, RadarOnline.com has learned.

 

An insider told the NY Daily News that “Lindsay was chain-smoking” throughout the outing at the East Village pub, where she and her hangers-on primarily hung out in a private karaoke room.

 

While LiLo was overheard saying she wasn’t boozing, her entourage sure was, draining a bottle of Jameson, and leaving the room they were in a mess of empty liquor bottles and garbage.

 

At one point, Lohan pleaded with staff to keep the bar open after its’ designated closing time, which led to a “disturbance.”

 

After staffers asked her to hit the road, LiLo summoned the NYPD to the scene, where she said that they had held her captive in a private karaoke room, the insider told the paper. Police did not take a report of the incident.

 

Conspicuous by his absence was The Canyons star’s sober coach, Doug Caine.

 

In the name of damage control, the paper reported, the actress had two of her friends try to make nice with the bar workers the next day. Prior to this incident, the mercurial Mean Girls actress had kept a low profile since her release from rehab this summer.

 

Her father Michael, in response to the report, reassured the paper his daughter is “absolutely fine,” but had a message for her running mates.

 

“If they care about her,” he said, “they won’t drink in front of her.”
