Neve Campbell is “doing great” in the wake of her marital split being made public.

The ‘Scream’ actress – whose petition to divorce John Light after three years of marriage was filed several months ago but only revealed this week – insists she is not struggling with being single again and is looking forward to spending the festive season with her loved ones.

She told UsMagazine.com: "I'm always doing great. What will I be doing in the holiday season? Spending time with my family and friends. I'm really looking forward to that this year."

It was revealed this week that Neve cited "irreconcilable differences" with her English actor spouse as the reason behind the separation, which she filed documents for five months ago at Los Angeles County Superior Court.

She also wants to block the court from awarding him any spousal support, although the pair reportedly remain on good terms.

A source said: "They're still really close friends, and it was a very amicable divorce."

It is the second marriage split for the Canadian actress.

She broke-up from her first husband Jeff Colt after three years of marriage in 1998.

December 12, 2010

Supermodel Elizabeth Hurley announced via Twitter that she has called it quits with husband Arun Nayar after three years of marriage.

The model-turned-actress tweeted Sunday, writing: "Not a great day. For the record, my husband Arun & I separated a few months ago. Our close family & friends were aware of this."

Hurley, 45, and Arun, an Indian businessman who is also in his mid 40s, wed in March 2007 at Sudeley Castle in Gloucestershire while 300 guests looked on, People.com reported. Following the wedding, the couple threw a week-long celebration at Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, India proceeded by a Hindu wedding ceremony.

Prior to marrying Arun, Hurley was romantically connected to actor Hugh Grant and has an 8-year-old son, Damian, with ex Stephen Bing.

Dexter And His Sister Are Getting A Divorce

Mark December 13th as the day that true love jumped in a casket and closed the door! First we find out that Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens' completely authentic love is over and now they're telling us that Dexter's Michael C. Hall and his TV sister Jennifer Carpenter are legally quitting each other?! Who the hell is next?! Rojo Caliente and Cynthia Nixon?! If that happens, we can stick our Match.com profiles in the compost bin and stick with finding ten-second dick on Grindr, because that will be a confirmation that love is not a real thing!

Entertainment Weekly reports that Jennifer and Michael filed for divorce after only 2 years of marriage. During that time, Jennifer supported Michael as he battled Hodgkin’s lymphoma. They issued this joint statement:

“Having been separated for some time, Jennifer Carpenter and Michael C. Hall have filed for divorce.”

Access Hollywood's sources say that Michael and Jennifer have been fighting on the set of Dexter for months and she's been telling the crew about their problems. The cast and crew is apparently worried about next season since it looks like Michael and Jennifer hate each other the same way I hate bitches who don't say "thank you" when I open the door for them (I HATE THAT!).

You know, I should've started this post with the words SPOILER ALERT since we all know who's character is getting killed off next season. Freshen up that resume, Jennifer.

Any BI's that might fit them?

Now that shocks me! Why would they get married - they hardly ever do anything for publicity together......So I assumed it was a "real" relationship. Guess it's just a Hollywood relationship - on to the next best thing.....(god I'm cynical)

It's not just you, Hoya. My first thought was that it probably ran its course once they got their magazine covers.

Wasn't she only 23 when they married... which is, like 19 years old in Hollywood years? Knew it wouldn't last but glad that at least they did bring kids into the equation...

Uhhh...I think the 2 year contract expired...lol. Never seen them out about, together in the two years of marriage...so something was out.

So if it wasn't a publicity contract, are we talking GMD style (minus the cultism)?

I didn't know what thread to put these in so I figured this would be most appropriate.

from eonline:

"Dear Ted:

Just read that Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter are divorcing. Might his Vicey habit(s) be partially responsible for the split?

—Deedee

TWITTER: Follow Ted

Dear Dexter Dunzo:

Well aren't you a little detective yourself! That would be yes. More to come. And I don't mean in a Blind Vice this time, either."

and from Lainey (I assume it's about Michael C. Hall and Julia Stiles):

About that breakup

I mentioned yesterday that there are a few more details about one of the recent splits announced in Hollywood this week. Turns out there was someone else: his love interest this season on his tv show. Their chemistry was so crazy and so evident to everyone that writer and producers, seeing it play out on set, actually cranked up their sex scenes to capture it for show. Her career has seen a resurgence since.

Eventually the two fell in love. They were together, very close, at a Halloween party in New York this fall hosted by a famously controversial writer (this isn’t a super important detail) and those who observed them that night are not surprised now that he’s ended it with his wife.

The thing is, they only had one sex scene during the whole season and when you compare it to some of the sex scenes from earlier seasons with other actresses, it was rather tame.

I also always thought that Julia Stiles was gay, but maybe she's not???

Is it wrong I'm doing the happy dance? I never liked those two together for some reason....

I'll be your dance partner (you lead) on this one. Neither of them are that great as an actor to have the public believe they were actually a couple. No surprises about the split.

David Thewlis and actress Anna Friel have split up after nine years of being together. They have one child, a 5-year-old daughter named Gracie.

Thewlis, 47, is best known for his role in the 'Harry Potter' series as Remus Lupin; Friel, 34, played Charlotte 'Chuck' Charles on TV series 'Pushing Daisies.'

The Daily Mail reports the couple have been apart for the last six months due to acting commitments. A source told the newspaper, "Things have not been great for a long time and they have tried to keep this quiet to protect everyone ... there are other issues at hand that have made them realize the relationship was over."

One of the 'other issues' may possibly actor Joseph Cross, 23, who Friel was spotted kissing last December. At the time Friel denied any romance and said that Cross was just a friend. Cross was Friel's co-star in the West End play 'Breakfast at Tiffany's.'

Even when Cross moved into the couple's Hollywood home in April, Thewlis was quoted as saying, "Joseph is a good friend of mine. I have no problem with him staying at my house."

A source close to Thewlis and Frield added: "They do care about each other very much, and the most important thing now is that they both continue to be the best parents they can be for Gracie."

Thewlis and Friel will be next seen acting together in the upcoming film 'London Boulevard,' which also features Keira Knightley and Colin Farrell.

LOL, it does seem to come in waves. Maybe some of them figure they'll come out about it while everyone else does so the news will get less attention (if they want less, of course :)

LeAnn Rimes, Eddie Cibrian engaged

by Mandi Bierly

LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian got engaged over the holidays, her rep tells People. Rimes, 28, sported a large diamond ring on a Malibu beach Monday. During a sitdown with ABC’s Robin Roberts that aired last month, the couple, who met filming the Lifetime movie Northern Lights while both were married, said they hoped the fact that their romance continued a year and a half later could turn their affair from a tabloid story to a love story. Both Cibrian, 37, and Rimes, however, said they wouldn’t be surprised if it didn’t: “Well, I can’t change their minds. Nothing I’m going to say is gonna change it. I do know that, and I have accepted that,” Rimes said when asked how she’d respond to people who consider her a homewrecker. “It happens every day to so many people. And if I take away my album sales, my awards, and you have just another couple — you have two couples whose marriages didn’t work, who really stumbled upon each other and fell in love. And never ever was I thinking of hurting someone.”

Cibrian shares custody of two sons, 7 and 3, with his ex, Brandi Glanville. Rimes’ ex, Dean Sheremet, announced his own engagement last month.

He's not too stupid, he's gonna make sure he gets married so he can take advantage of her money. Wonder exactly how long it'll be before he's screwing around on her? Oh, that is if he isn't already...

I'd bet money he's got a piece or two on the side already...the two of them deserve each other.

What Tiger Woods, Jesse James and Eva Longoria taught me about love

Mara Reinstein.Writer, Us Weekly

According to the Chinese calendar, 2010 was the year of the tiger. In the celebrity universe, it was the year of the Tiger divorce. Sandra and Jesse's split too. And Scarlett and Ryan. And Eva and Tony. And David and Courteney. And Tammy Lynn and Melissa. And Halle and Gabriel. And Blake and Penn. And Madonna and Jesus.

It's difficult to scan this list and be optimistic about long-term love. If these fabulously gorgeous and wealthy people with multiple vacation homes can't make it work, how do us mortals have a chance? The facts look even grimmer from my perspective: Not only am I a single 30-something, I've been covering ugly A-list break-ups for Us Weekly since La Bennifer. Let me summarize thousands of reporting files in one sentence: You know how stars always swear their split is amicable and they want to remain friends? Yeah, not so much.

A few have rocked me personally. I was genuinely shocked and disappointed when the golden couple themselves -- Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston, as if you have to ask -- divorced in 2005. For all the Hollywood mishigas surrounding them, they practically radiated with love in public. She's the fire we all crowd around for warmth, he gushed to Vanity Fair months earlier. Suddenly, the marriage was just a pile of smokey ash, sob.

But this essay isn't a woe-is-me lament. It's actually a thank you note. For these couples' painful mistakes have turned into my life lessons. You see, I now know exactly what not to do in a relationship. Having an 11-month affair with a heavily tattooed stripper and Internet porn model named Michelle "Bombshell" McGee is a given. My rules are simple, useful and, best of all, universal. Though I do hope Katy Perry and Russell Brand pay special attention. I'm already worried about them.

1. Don't live apart Absence doesn't make the heart grow fonder; it makes the heart go to bars and flirt with the closest warm body. That's not always the case, of course, but it's a sad truth that two people plus non-stop frenzied work and travel schedules do not equal one solid relationship. There's just no quality time left over to spend with each other. Consider Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson. I think they collectively filmed 23 movies (and starred in one Broadway play) during their two-year marriage. Doomed.

2. ...But don't be attached 24/7 either Movie stars fall for each on a set, then get to wrap up their project in six weeks. To paraphrase Christian Bale during his Terminator 4 tirade, Gooood for youuuu! Everybody else who makes a move on the clock -- especially TV stars, like Dexter's Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter -- is susceptible to a ticking time-bomb romance. That's because when you work and cohabitate in close confines with your mate, essential breathing room comes at a premium. Even worse, a break-up can lead to the dreaded working-with-your-ex scenario.

3. Don't over-share in public It doesn't matter if Oprah Winfrey herself is gently asking the questions in soft-focus lighting. Keeping the sacred details of your personal life behind closed doors is respectful and, frankly, good common sense. And keep in mind: the more you rave, the more apparent it becomes that you're just hiding something (cough, Jenny McCarthy, cough). Plus, as Ryan Reynolds recently -- and presciently -- pointed out, if you invite people into your marriage, you have to invite them into your divorce. This notion is only appealing if you're Camille Grammer.

4. Don't settle down too young Committing to one person for the rest of your life before you can legally rent a car stacks the odds against you. Your personal tastes and behavior all need to time to develop. This clause even applies to freakishly-mature-for-their-age Disney child stars such as Christina Aguilera. She wed at 24. She filed for divorce at 29.

5. Don't bother with over-the-top nuptials They had a $1.5 million wedding in Paris, complete with 10,000 red roses, 2,000 candles and an orchestra. Three years later, Eva Longoria Parker found inappropriate texts between her husband, Tony Parker, and a close girlfriend and those extravagant I do details were worthless. Look, fairy tale weddings are lovely. Just not quite as lovely as focusing on the happily ever after.

6. Don't crowd yourself When you're surrounded by a talented and supportive team -- including an assistant, a chef, a nanny, a doorman, a stylist and a gaggle of friends -- it's easy to ignore the need for a teammate at home. That's when many complacent romances fall by the wayside. Athletes should grasp this concept easily, but they have a higher split rate than Olympic gymnasts.

7. Don't live in Los Angeles It can't be a coincidence that some of the most successful Hollywood couples -- Kevin Bacon & Kyra Sedgwick, Goldie Hawn & Kurt Russell, Michael J. Fox & Tracy Pollan, Sarah Jessica Parker & Matthew Broderick to name a few -- don't live in Hollywood. Can it? Breathtaking views, though.

Agreed, though I'm not sure I'd use SJP/Mathhew Broderick as poster children for a successful marriage. They've been together forever, but they were also rumored to be on the verge of divorce right before the twins arrived....among other rumors. ;)
