Celeb Death Watch

Recommended Posts

This is not very nice, but when they describe people as dying surrounded by friends and family, I picture them in bed, dying with a wall of people standing around them just watching. I wouldn't want to die that like that.

I agree - I picture that too. But I wouldn't want to be alone either, I think it would be so scary. I am so afraid to die, I can't sleep at night for thoughts of it. You'd think that would get better as I get older, but it's only gotten worse, especially since having my first child a few months ago.

Ok, this is sad - let's talk about what a shit Lohan is :D

Larry Hagman died. RIP JR Ewing. Larry Hagman dead at 81.

This one made me sad. I've enjoyed watching Larry Hagman over the years, especially as JR Ewing. He was excellent in that role! I've even really enjoyed seeing him again in the Dallas re-make. Just as nasty as always.

P.S. I lost a wonderful cousin in my family to all sorts of cancer on that very same day last year, may she and Deborah both be with the Lord now.

Colin McKean, the 36-year-old son of actor Michael McKean, has been

identified as one of two men who died of suspected heroin overdoses in

Ashland last week.

Ashland police Deputy Chief Corey Falls said Colin McKean was found dead

by a family member at his home in the 700 block of North Laurel Street

shortly after 8 p.m. on Dec. 3.

Police said evidence found at the scene suggested McKean died of a

heroin overdose. Falls said today police are still awaiting laboratory

results to confirm the cause of death.

The other man, identified as 34-year-old Jordan Roth, was found dead by

a family friend 24 hours later in the 2400 block of Siskiyou Boulevard.

Police are investigating whether the two cases are connected.

"That's one thing our detectives look into," Falls said. "Just because

these happened on back-to-back nights, it makes it odd, but our

detectives just try to gather information."

Michael McKean and his wife, Annette O'Toole, own the property on Laurel

Street, according to Jackson County property records. Both longtime

actors, Michael McKean is probably best known for his role as Lenny on

the TV sitcom "Laverne & Shirley" and as David St. Hubbins in the 1984

movie "This is Spinal Tap."

Considering the numerous addiction issues and the suicide attempts that are known, it's not entirely unexpected. Terribly sad - suicide always is.....

I heard on the news that she was being investigated in the death of a former boyfriend. The father of one of her kids said that he thinks that was what tipped her over. :(

This has not happened -- yet

Veteran television actress Valerie Harper has been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer.

The "Mary Tyler Moore Show" star, 73, who played Rhoda Morgenstern in the hit series and its spin-off "Rhoda," underwent a series of tests which showed she has leptomeningeal carcinomatosis, a condition that occurs when cancer cells spread into the fluid-filled membrane surrounding the brain.

Harper received the devastating news in January and has been told by doctors she has as little as three months to live.

Opening up about the diagnosis to People magazine, Harper says, "I don't think of dying. I think of being here now."

Harper previously battled lung cancer in 2009.

Click through to see more photos of the actress, from her days on the "Mary Tyler Moore Show" to her tireless campaign for women's rights and more ...

I always thought Valarie Harper was the coolest thing about the MTM show.

Ummm, I am not sure you can call him a celeb, but I guess he was in some circles:

Report: 'Deep Throat' star Harry Reems dead at 65

March 20, 2013, 2:48 PM EST

By Lucas Shaw

TheWrap

Harry Reems, star of legendary pornographic film "Deep Throat," has died, according to a self-described close friend, Don Shenck, who posted a personal obituary on a message board Tuesday.

Reems was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, entered the Salt Lake City VA Hospital March 5 due to jaundice and fell into a coma last week, Shenck wrote.

Gawker received confirmation of Reems' death from a representative of the hospital, which declined to comment to TheWrap.

Reems, born Herbert Streicher, is best known for his role in the cult porn hit "Deep Throat," which starred Linda Lovelace and took the nation by storm in 1972. It remains the most famous film of its kind.

Bing: More on Harry Reems

The controversy surrounding the film led the FBI to indict Reems for conspiracy to distribute obscene material across state lines, a charge he was initially convicted of before a higher court overruled the decision.

Reems aspired to be an actor in non-pornographic films, and in the late 1970s was cast in his first studio movie, "Grease," but was kicked off the project because of his scandalous past.

"Acting was my true love, and I buried that possibility by going into adult films," Reems told Dave Itzkoff for a 2005 New York magazine piece. "The writing was on the wall. There was no place for me in conventional entertainment."

Born in New York City, he grew up in the suburbs and then enlisted in the Marines. After a brief term of service, he was honorably discharged and then pursued acting.

Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, he appeared in more than 100 pornographic films, including "Forced Entry" and "The Devil in Miss Jones."

During the second half of his career, upset by his inability to break through to more traditional acting and low on funds, he turned to alcohol and panhandling.

Yet, by the late 1980s, Reems moved to Park City, Utah, and got sober. He then met Jeannie, his wife of the last two decades.

He is survived by Jeannie and his brother.
