Shrek, an internationally acclaimed animated character from the movie of the same name and Shrek the Musical is a musical from the original movie Shrek. Shrek Musical made its debut in December 2008 and this juts 2 year old musical has won numerous nominations for its cast, costume designs, and set design among others. The original Shrek musical production remained at Broadway since December 2008 and closed on January 2010 after 441 performances and 37 previews. Brian d'Arcy James played the role of Shrek, Sutton Foster was Princess Fiona, Donkey was Daniel Breaker and Lord Farquaad was performed by Christopher Sieber. Shrek The Musical is known for delivering family friendly fun and for the first time since its debut it is coming to the Oklahoma City. The new concert will be performed at the Thelma Gaylord Theatre with the collaboration of Civic Center Music Hall in Oklahoma City that runs from November 9 through November 14. This concert is a part of the Shrek The Musical’s 2010-2011 season tour. Alan Mingo Jr. will play the role of Donkey while Eric Petersen will be seen in perfuming the favorite Shrek character and Haven Burton will be the Princess Fiona of the Shrek The Musical’s national touring.

Shrek production has announced all its national touring dates and Shrek the Musical will begin its concerts at the Buell Theatre of Denver, CO from November 16 to November 28 at San Francisco, CA from Dec. 1, 2010 – Jan. 2, 2011.They will start 2011 from Tempe, AZ and will perform from Jan. 4 – Jan. 9, 2011. The other cities that will be covered during their US national tour are Buffalo, NY, Baltimore, MD, Pittsburgh, PA, Cincinnati, OH, Louisville, KY, Memphis, TN, Orlando/Tampa, FL, New Orleans, LA and others.

Shrek the Musical has all the spices of a typical musical and with all new 19 songs it is ready to be launched at West End (London) on May6, 2011 and official opening on June 14, 2011 at Theatre Royal Drury Lane with initial booking until February 19th 2012. Nigel Lindsay will be playing Shrek, Amanda Holden, a judge on Britain's Got Talent TV show will be West End’s Princess Fiona along with Richard Blackwood as Donkey and Nigel Harman as Lord Farquaad.
