Things that make you say "Hummm....."

Yes, he is George W's cousin. I worked for Billy's brother at one time (but have never ever supported the GOP). Horrible experience. Trust me on this one.

As a break from death, let's measure rich men's.....manliness....by looking at the size of their yachts, anchored in St Barts for NYE

Billionaire Russians are dominating the superyacht showdown in St. Barts, while many of the wealthy American regulars have headed elsewhere because of Zika fears.
Currently moored off the tony island is Roman Abramovich’s 533-foot, $500 million Eclipse, gas billionaire Farkhad Akhmedov’s $400 million Luna (377 feet), oil and gas billionaire Evgeny Shvidler’s $90 million Le Grand Bleu (371 feet), and the $75 million Anna (220 feet) owned by fertilizer billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev. Ukranian-American billionaire Len Blavatnik’s $100 million Odessa II (240 feet) is due to arrive from St. Martin in time for New Year’s Eve.
The US contingent is smaller this year, but already moored is casino magnate Steve Wynn’s $215 million Aquarius (302 feet), Revlon billionaire Ronald Perelman’s $125 million C2 (257 feet) and Victoria’s Secret magnate Leslie Wexner’s $100 million Limitless (316 feet).
From Europe: LVMH billionaire Bernard Arnault’s $150 million Symphony (331 feet).
Stars staying in St. Barts include Pharrell Williams, Paul McCartney, Calvin Klein, Sean “Diddy” Combs and Uber CEO Travis Kalanick. Leo DiCaprio is expected to descend in the next few days with his crew of models and friends, the so-called “p - - - y posse.”
Also on the island: Jake Gyllenhaal, designers Marc Jacobs and Alexander Wang, and Peter Brant and Stephanie Seymour.
Russian billionaire Abramovich, the owner of investment firm Millhouse LLC and Chelsea Football Club, is throwing his annual hot-ticket New Year’s Eve party, and the Rolling Stones are said to be the big live act for the exclusive invite-only event. Mick Jagger is expected to fly in for the intimate gig from his home in Mustique.
But missing this year is David Geffen’s $300 million yacht Rising Sun, which is at sail off the coast of Mexico, while Microsoft billionaire Paul Allen’s Octopus is in Cape Town, South Africa.

I have no clue where to put this, so in here it goes. Ryan Seacrest had a fire on his grounds yesterday (from all the reports, I don't think it made it into the house). To thank the firemen who showed up, he gave them wine.

http://pagesix.com/2017/02/21/ryan-seacrest-calls-house-fire-his-worst-nightmare/

“The firefighters come and you’re just so happy to see them,” he said, describing how they also recently saved him from a stuck elevator on New Year’s Eve.

He was so happy, in fact, that he gave each of the firefighters a parting gift: wine. “I gave them wine. I was like, ‘What do you give them?’ … I was like, ‘Thanks, guys. When you’re off, enjoy.’ Who doesn’t want a bottle of wine?”

I love that. I know, I know, I hate Ryan Seacrest. But I love this story.

Keanu Reeves interview

http://www.whoaisnotme.net/articles/1988_01xx_kea.htm

WHO WOULD BE THE IDEAL WOMAN YOU COULD BE CAST OPPOSITE?

Oh, I don't know, man. Who would I like to fuck the most? Meryl Streep.

WHY?

Because even if I wasn't good, she could fake it the best.

 :kung-fu-panda:

I wonder if he still feels that way -- quote comes from a 1988 article.

I want some focus on the OTHER 48 people named in the indictment - CEOs have been mentioned, but all we get are names of two female actresses? Bullshit!

As a mom of a Senior with 11 AP courses, perfect GPA and lots of extra curriculars, including two sports - this story troubles me greatly.   It was disappointing when an athlete from our school got into her dream school not because of academics, but because he can kick a football.   Athletes have an easier path and less expensive in to college.

Do I blame these parents, not really.   My daughter is trying to get into top schools,  not getting any merit scholarships and looking at huge debt to go to these schools while athletes are going on full rides and do not have the academics to warrant them a spot.  If being a recruit secured my daughter a spot - then let’s do it.

Why couldn’t they have gotten their kids in the old fashioned way by donating a library or something? Wealthy people bribe schools all the time but usually it’s hard to prove because the money is given in the form of donations. Bush Jr. and Jared Kushner got into Yale and Harvard respectively because of their parents’ wealth.
