VMAs 2016

Recommended Posts

I'm watching the VMAs with my 15 year old. I've made it to Beyonce's never ending performance before I have been left feeling about 100 years old and culturally irrelevant. I'm probably officially too old to watch this show anymore. Ah, Gen X, we were such a flash in the pan!

Hey her performance came pretty late in the show so if you made it that long without feeling culturally irrelevant I'd say that's a success :)

I stayed up (old person alert #1) to see Beyonce and Britney and should have tapped out after Beyonce, but it was hard going. Everyone was at a level 10 and screeching into the mike. It's like they were all made to do an eight ball upon coming in the door.

I don't know why I even bothered.

And was it just me or did Britney totally look like she was phoning it in. She just has no spark at all while performing. Does she hate her life?

I admit I'm a full-on Britney stan, but I agree she wasn't feeling it.

Kinda shitty to put her on 0.2 seconds after Beyonce. Also she performed that shit-ass song with that greasy ass loser. I don't know what demon he's sacrificing to, but he definitely doesn't owe his fame to any kind of talent.

She should have performed Do You Wanna Come Over by herself and her backup dancers and had a good time without that "rapper." She was definitely not into that performance AT ALL. GRRRRRRR

I saw the pics of the red carpet and all I could think about was Tim Gunn having heart failure.

Except - I think he would admit that it's the VMAs - the standards are different! (I've only watched about half of Fashion Police so far) You wear different items for the Golden Globes or the Oscars or the VMAs or a movie premiere - and knowing that different types of clothing are expected is a sign of being fashionable (in my opinion) ;-) You expect Helen Mirren to wear something different from Beyonce, as well......
