Joke, bad joke, unintentional - doesn't matter why/what Rock said - violence never the answer. That was a lot. Sarah (@cinesnark, new-ish deputy editor at lainey gossip) called it the Chaoscars last week and boy was she more right than she knew she'd be!!

I loved that Momoa had a scrunchie on his french braid - it looked good! I'm not sure what outfit I liked best. I really liked Jada's dress - that dark green, those floufy ruffles - it was eye-catching! And Venus Williams' hair looked amazing with her outfit - perfect match! I'm not loving the U-shaped cleavage plunge -makes boobs look droopy.

Will Smith is no longer a member of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, resigning from the film organization following his assault of Chris Rock during Sunday’s Oscars after the comic made a G.I. Jane joke aimed at Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.

“I have directly responded to the Academy’s disciplinary hearing notice, and I will fully accept any and all consequences for my conduct,” Smith said in a statement Page Six received from his rep.

“My actions at the 94th Academy Awards presentation were shocking, painful, and inexcusable,” he continued. “The list of those I have hurt is long and includes Chris, his family, many of my dear friends and loved ones, all those in attendance, and global audiences at home.

“I betrayed the trust of the Academy. I deprived other nominees and winners of their opportunity to celebrate and be celebrated for their extraordinary work. I am heartbroken.”

Smith continued, “I want to put the focus back on those who deserve attention for their achievements and allow the Academy to get back to the incredible work it does to support creativity and artistry in film. So, I am resigning from membership in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and will accept any further consequences the Board deems appropriate.

Trying to avoid commenting on the incident - it's certainly not my place - but I do feel the apologies have been well written. Regardless of how he might actually feel, these were true apologies, no bullshit "I'm sorry if you were offended" crap. He says "I was wrong, I hurt you, and I'm sorry". I appreciate that, because in this day - even with way too many PR and spin doctors involved - apologies don't seem to be profound or ring true, and this (to me) does.
