Errrrr, they already have these kinds of cruises available. But I guess the more the merrier. I used to work for a company that helped with these kinds of functions a few times a year. Let me tell you, it really sucks walking thru the cruise terminal full of hot shirtless guys without getting so much as a glance at. On the other hand the lesbians seem to like me, lol! GAYS UNITEDGAY men and lesbians usually prefer to socialize in bars and nightspots that cater to one group or the other. But Rosie O'Donnell thinks they'll like vacationing together - at least those gays and lesbians who have children. Rosie and her partner, Kelli O'Donnell, have launched R Family Vacations with travel entrepreneur Gregg Kaminsky , who says, "We're creating vacations where gays and lesbians can bring their kids, their friends and their parents." The first trip, a cruise on the Norwegian Dawn, leaves New York July 11, 2004 for Key West and the Bahamas. "This is the first cruise that will cater to both gays and lesbians," Kaminsky said. Ski trips and safaris are in the works.

Rosie O'Donnell Branded "Foul-Mouthed" in Courtimdb.comRosie O'Donnell was Thursday labeled an "uberbitch", as publishing house lawyers commenced their multi-million-dollar lawsuit against the comedienne. Publishers Gruner + Jahr Usa are suing O'Donnell for $100 million over her now-defunct magazine Rosie, claiming she breached her contract by leaving the publication in September 2002. Their attorney Martin Hyman told Manhattan Supreme Court in his opening arguments the publishers wanted a magazine to reflect the star's warm and funny qualities - but alleged O'Donnell became a boss who threw "foul- mouthed" tantrums, and acted in a prima donna fashion over unflattering photographs. Hyman said, "She went from being warm and fun-loving on TV to an uberbitch." But resilient Rosie, who is countersuing G+J for $125 million, hit back to waiting reporters outside the court. She admitted, "I am loud and I do curse. I am guilty as charged," but added she is always quick to apologize. Inside the courtroom, O'Donnell's lawyer Lorna Schofield accused G+J of taking away O'Donnell's editorial control and pairing her with an editor who suggested stories on subjects such as liposuction. Schofield said, "This is not supposed to be a magazine about thin thighs, and here we are promoting being a size six through liposuction." The case continues.

Rosie Objected To Magazine Cover on "Lesbian" Groundsimdb.comRosie O'Donnell objected to a cover of her now-defunct magazine showing her with her arms around two women on grounds of her being a lesbian, according to the magazine's former editor. Susan Toepfer was formerly editor-in-chief of Rosie magazine, and testified in Manhattan Supreme Court yesterday that O'Donnell started a fight over the proposed cover for September 2002 that led to the publication's demise. The aborted cover showed former chat-show host O'Donnell standing in between two Sopranos stars - Edie Falco and Lorraine Bracco - with an arm around each of them. Toepfer says that O'Donnell angrily called her after seeing the photo. She says, "(Rosie) said, 'You're about to hear a Rosie you've never heard before.' She proceeded to scream and yell at me. She was screaming obscenities at me. She wouldn't listen to me. She said, 'As a lesbian, I'm uncomfortable being on a magazine cover holding another woman or touching another woman.' I said, 'You know Rosie, that would never have occurred to me in a thousand years.'" Toepfer was testifying in court as part of the multi-million dollar lawsuit between O'Donnell and publishers Gruner + Jahr Usa, who are both suing each other for breach of contract. She continues, "(Rosie) said, 'I've been the boss of a TV show for six years. If I'm not going to be the boss of this, then I'll shut it down.'" O'Donnell's lawyer, Lorna Schofield says that part of her client's objection to the photo was that it was unflattering, and that Toepfer's near-insistence on the photo made O'Donnell feel she did not have control of her image. The case continues.

Rosie O'Donnell in a Rage Over Anistonimdb.comAmerican funnywoman Rosie O'Donnell tore into Friends actress Jennifer Aniston during an editorial meeting - according to Rosie magazine editor Susan Toepfer. The incident - which allegedly occurred last year - was raised during O'Donnell and publisher Gruner+Jahr Usa bitter lawsuit in Manhattan Supreme Court Monday. According to Toepfer, O'Donnell went into a rage when she suggested that the magazine ran a feature on the stunning wife of Brad Pitt, saying that Aniston would be a boring interviewee. Toepfer alleges O'Donnell said: "That is an example of someone I don't want to do. The girl has nothing to say." Gruner+Jahr are suing the League Of Their Own actress for $100 million for breach of contract after she walked out on the floundering publication. O'Donnell is counter-suing for $125 million arguing that the publisher breached their contract by undermining her authority as the magazine's editor-in-chief. The trial continues.

This case is not making her look good. Anyone got any dirt about Rosie, is she really such a bitch?Rosie O'Donnell: "Liars Get Cancer"imdb.comA former employee at Rosie O'Donnell's defunct Rosie magazine burst into tears when she was told that "liars get cancer" by the comedienne. Cindy Spengler was head of marketing at the publication, and testified yesterday that O'Donnell made the remark after a meeting to discuss the magazine's problems. Spengler says O'Donnell told her that silence in the meeting was tantamount to lying. She quotes O'Donnell as saying, "You know what happens to people who lie. They get sick and they get cancer. If they keep lying, they get it again." Publishers Gruner+Jahr Usa are suing O'Donnell for $100 million for breach of contract after she walked out on the floundering publication. O'Donnell is counter-suing for $125 million arguing that the publisher breached their contract by undermining her authority as the magazine's editor-in- chief. The trial continues.

EOnline.com THE VERDICT IS IN: Just minutes after both sides rested in the case, a Manhattan Judge issued a surprise ruling on Wednesday deciding that neither Rosie O'Donnell nor Gruner + Jahr, the publisher of her former magazine, should receive damages in their dispute over its demise. "There's no evidence that the magazine would have made any money at all," said Judge Ira Gammerman.

Rosie: The Blushing BrideEOnline.comby Josh GrossbergFeb 26, 2004, 2:00 PM PTRosie O'Donnell has gone bridal.O'Donnell and longtime companion Kelli Carpenter wed in a quick, private ceremony Thursday at San Francisco's City Hall, becoming the most famous of the 3,300-plus same-sex couples to get hitched there in recent weeks. The newly minted marrieds, hand in hand and clutching a bouquet and their license, briefly addressed the hundreds of fans on hand to cheer."I'd like to thank the city of San Francisco for the amazing stance the mayor has taken, and all the people here who have assisted not just us, but the thousands and thousands of other law-abiding and loving American families who want the rights that every other married couple is entitled to," O'Donnell said to a rousing ovation.Earlier, in a statement issued by publicist Cindi Berger, O'Donnell said, "We, too, have a dream of equality for all families. The only way changes are made in society is when people like [san Francisco] Mayor Gavin Newsom have the courage to stand up against injustice."The couple's visit to the City by the Bay was a brief one. They were to go from City Hall to the airport for a flight back to their home in New York. With four kids, quipped O'Donnell, "there's no time for a honeymoon."It was a long day for the duo. They awoke in the predawn hours to give Rosie enough time to announce their matrimonial intentions on ABC's Good Morning America before hopping a plane from New York to San Francisco to make a 1 p.m. PT appointment for their marriage license.During her GMA appearance, O'Donnell explained that she and Carpenter had been wanting to get hitched for months and were ultimately spurred to action by President George W. Bush's call two days prior for a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriages."I think the actions of the President are, in my opinion, the most vile and hateful words ever spoken by a sitting president," O'Donnell said on the program. "I am stunned and horrified."The couple will join the parade of gay couples who have tied the knot in San Francisco since Feb. 12, when Newsom ordered city officials to begin issuing same-sex marriage licenses in defiance of a California law stating marriage is strictly between a man and a woman. Newsom says the law violates the equal protection clause in the state constitution.Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has since ordered the state's attorney general to look into the legality of those unions and several California courts have taken up the matter, but so far none has issued an injunction blocking the nuptials.O'Donnell, who came out of the closet shortly before her daytime talk show folded in the spring of 2002, is no stranger to the culture wars, having lobbied to overturn a Florida law prohibiting same-sex couples from adopting. Now, she says, she's ready for a new fight."I find this proposed amendment very, very, very, very shocking. And immoral. And you know, if civil disobedience is the way to go about change, then I think a lot of people will be going to San Francisco," she said on GMA. "And I hope they put more people on the steps to marry as many people as show up. And I hope everyone shows up."O'Donnell and Carpenter, a dancer turned marketing director for Nickelodeon, are going on six years and four kids together--three of whom they adopted and the most recent arriving last year when Carpenter gave birth via artificial insemination.O'Donnell, 40, and Carpenter, 35, had hoped to wed in New York last fall during O'Donnell's trial with former Rosie publisher Gruner + Jahr USA, but the state currently doesn't recognize such unions."We applied for spousal privilege and were denied it by the state. As a result, everything that I said to Kelli, every letter that I wrote her, every email, every correspondence and conversation was entered into the record," said O'Donnell. "After the trial, I am now and will forever be a total proponent of gay marriage."After leaving the GMA studios, she and Carpenter immediately headed to the airport. In other Rosie news, the judge in the comic's contract dispute with Gruner + Jahr has ruled that while "both sides breached the agreement between the parties" regarding the demise of her eponymous magazine, "neither were entitled to damages or attorneys fees."O'Donnell's ex-publisher sued her for $100 million, claiming she reneged on her contract by quitting the magazine. Rosie fired back with her own $125 million legal salvo, accusing Gruner + Jahr of trying to wrest editorial control away from her. But Judge Ira Gammerman issued a preliminary verdict in November declaring no one a winner. Last week's ruling effectively sealed that decision.Gruner + Jahr has said it's considering an appeal.

NOT SO ROSIE

Page Six

IT wasn't such a gay old time on Rosie O'Donnell's sapphic-friendly cruise. The recent inaugural outing of the former talk show queen's R Family Vacations was a bit of a financial flop. Marketed to gays, lesbians and their families, the sail on the Norwegian Dawn was 40 percent empty with more than 500 empty cabins and a loss of $250,000. Rosie's rep, Cindi Berger , claimed it was an acceptable loss, "due to high start-up costs which every new business experiences. The inaugural cruise far exceeded the company's expectations. R Family Vacations is rapidly selling out next summer's cruise and expects to sell out by the end of the year."

SHELVED: Rosie O'Donnell, 42, does not plan on going ahead with her already delayed new book, Celebrity Detox, her rep has confirmed. The book, originally slated for July publication, was due to be published this month, according to a posting on Amazon.com ? until that posting was removed last Friday. O'Donnell "doesn't want to do a book," her spokeswoman, Cindi Berger, tells New York's Daily News. The Warner Book was to have told the tale of Rosie's withdrawal from the limelight into the private life of being "a partner, mom and artist," as the publisher described the now-dead tome.

Wow, never thought of Rosie as a possible co-host, especially when she was once quoted as saying she did not want to return to daytime TV. However, if this is true, then adding Rosie would make for quite an interesting mix. I wonder is she would still take the seat to Star's right (Meredith’s old spot) -- you see Rosie said some not so nice things about Star not being on the up and up regarding her weight loss. I could see Rosie not putting up with Star's delusions of grandeur--Ha! That should make for some interesting TV. :D Edited by abomb
