STAR SEEKS WEDDING 'SPONSORS'

Page Six

STAR Jones, queen of the freebies, could make a mint off her Nov. 13 wedding by charging hairstylists and makeup artists for the privilege of working on her and her bridesmaids. In a contract sent to a beauty company obtained by PAGE SIX, an outfit called SPArty, which claims to represent Jones, demands $4,500 from companies that want to be her wedding "sponsor" and $1,500 from ones that simply want to have products in Jones' gift bags. On wedding day, a tent will be put up outside the Waldorf Astoria, where Jones and 45 guests can spend all day getting beautified. Jones guarantees anyone buying into her gift bag will get coverage from In Style, In Touch, People, Us Weekly, Entertainment Weekly, W, "The View," "and many more!" According to the contract, in addition to ponying up money, "all participants must wear white . . . there must be eight hairstylists . . . six make-up artists . . . skin care products for 11 rooms . . . 10 manicurists." One company asked to provide services scoffed: "That would cost thousands and it is not worth it. It's unbearably tacky to ask us to pay." But Jones told us: "I have received several proposals for a spa day and I have not signed off on any of them. I did not authorize [sPArty] to do this or solicit funds. I have not decided what I am going to do."

ABC'S DIM VIEW OF STAR PLUGS

ABC has put a halt to Star ("Bride-zilla") Jones' greedy on-air plugging of her wedding suppliers to make sure the mentions don't violate FCC rules.

As Jones' Nov. 13 wedding to Al Reynolds draws nearer, Star has run afoul of her network bosses because everything connected with the wedding ? invitations, flowers, dresses, makeup, hairdressing ? Jones got for free in return for promises of publicity.

One angry vendor ? who claims Jones guaranteed to do a segment on "The View" about products going into her "goodie bag" ? recently received an e-mail from ABC daytime director Randall Barone.

Barone's e-mail stated: "I understand that you have made arrangements to provide certain products for inclusion in a segment on 'The View' regarding Star Jones' bridal party gift bag. That segment will not be airing on 'The View,' nor will these products appear on 'The View.' "

The vendor then got an e-mail from Jones, which stated: "I have recently been informed that 'The View' has re-evaluated its needs and does not plan to include this [wedding] segment . . . and thus will not be able to give you the thanks you very much deserve [for contributing to her goodie bag.]

"Not to worry . . . My public relations firm (PMK) and I have agreed to do several segments with one of the major syndicated evening entertainment programs . . . Further, [we] are in the process of deciding which print . . . outlet that we will give the photo of the goodie bag and its contents to."

The vendor was unimpressed with Star's promises and pulled out of the "goodie bag."

Karl Nilsson , a rep for "The View," said: "We consider the wedding-related segments [that have already aired] . . . to be of legitimate interest to the viewer, and we believe that full disclosure regarding any promotional consideration was made, consistent with the law and industry practice."

Jones fumed to PAGE SIX: "I can assure you I have done nothing illegal, immoral or unethical and more importantly, nothing ABC has not agreed to and signed off on! I can assure you I never personally promised a segment on 'The View.' "

When we asked if there was anything in her wedding she had actually paid for, Jones snarled: "My wedding is my business ? it's not your business . . . In case you haven't figured it out, I can do whatever I choose to do with my wedding!"

TV Guide Online says she has an entire web site devoted to her up coming wedding. -_- to quote Gawker.com:

Anyway: the Star Jones wedding website is like the romantic version of "The Ring." You won't necessarily die seven days after you see it, but it'll take at least a week before you're willing to have sex again.

JONES: SPEND BIG ON ME!Page SixNOT only does Star "Bridezilla" Jones want her wedding provided for free, she's also asking guests to lavish her with expensive gifts. Jones and her fiancé, Al Reynolds , are registered at Geary's of Beverly Hills, Tiffany, Frette and, for those of more modest means, Crate & Barrel and Williams-Sonoma. One item on Jones' "wish list" is a George IV-style silver tray from Tiffany costing almost $11,000. Jones muses on her password-only Web site, "can't you just imagine Star Jones as the little 'Stepford Wife' bringing hubby Al his martini after a hard day at the office . . . yes, I can just see it now!" Most of the expensive items from Geary's ? gilded plates and Baroque-style silverware ? are still available, but Jones notes she needs Frette sheets ? which cost upwards of $1,000 a set. "We are changing the master bedroom of both our East Hampton home and our New York City home to reflect a 'married couple,' rather than a single-woman fantasy bedroom. Gotta make room for the head of the household!" Now that's sweet.

STAR'S AL DROPS IN ON OLD PALS

AL Reynolds stayed away from other women Saturday night when he partied without his fiancee, Star "Bridezilla" Jones, who's in Dallas with the crew from "The View" — but he wasn't alone. Reynolds went to a gay-friendly Halloween bash at Belluno on East 40th Street. "Al was there as a male stripper," said our spy. "He had on a tiny, tiny speedo with a white bathrobe over it — he has great abs! He was there with some friends who were dressed as King Tut, a leatherman, a cop, a cowboy and a pirate — they were all clearly gay. Some of them he knew from before Star, but he was getting to know the others." Reynolds introduced himself to our spy, who mistook him for Jones' makeup man. Reynolds quickly corrected him and said, "No. I'm marrying her." One of Reynolds' entourage added: "And he's very scared." The speedo is a holdover from last year's Halloween party, where Reynolds wore it as part of his Bam Bam costume. Jones' rep sent us a statement saying: "Star and Al are happily planning their wedding, which is less than a month away, and don't plan to entertain anything that would rob them of their joy."

Big Gay Al....LOL!

MRS. REYNOLDS

AS of Nov. 13, Star Jones (above) will be no more. The chat show host, known as "Bridezilla" because of the elaborate preparations for her Saturday nuptials, sent around an optimistic e-mail yesterday morning informing everyone at "The View" that following her wedding to Al Reynolds , she will take his name personally and professionally. "She wants to be called Star Reynolds ? no hyphen, nothing. She is dropping Jones completely," our source said. A rep for Jones confirmed the name change.

MSN Entertainment(dated a few days ago, pre wedding)....Jones, meanwhile, has been busy fulfilling her bridal promotional duties. On Tuesday, she hit Access Hollywood to give exposure to the designer of her gown and the jeweler who will lend her bling for the big day (and no, we're not gonna add to the PR onslaught by actually naming them). The couple also graces the cover of the December issue of Ebony, in which Al admits, "Star doesn't want a wedding. She wants a parade."For those who still haven't picked up a gift for the bride and groom (shame on you!), we feel nothing symbolizes their love quite like the George IV silver tray still available on their Tiffany registry. Come on, at just $10,500, it's a total steal.

A Star WeddingEOnline.comby Joal RyanNov 14, 2004, 12:20 PM PTA bride is the star of her own wedding, and Star Jones was no exception--although she certainly had competition.Chris Rock, Samuel L. Jackson, Spike Lee, Angela Bassett, Kim Cattrall, Barbara Walters and U.S. Senator Hillary Clinton were among the notables to witness Jones' designer nuptials Saturday in New York City to Wall Street banker Al Reynolds.Jones, 42, and Reynolds, 35, exchanged vows at St. Bartholomew's Church on tony Park Avenue, before disembarking with their guests to the not-too-shabby Waldorf-Astoria hotel for a reception dinner and a performance by Patti LaBelle. It is the first marriage for both the daytime TV talker (ABC's The View) and the money man. On the couple's official wedding Website, StarAndAl.com, Jones and Reynolds said they'd been "praying for this day for a very long time."To Walters, Jones' View cohost, the ceremony was worth the wait. "I smiled a lot," Walters said of the wedding to the New York Post. "I was happy for her. She had the biggest smile I've ever seen."Jones' gown, designed by Reem Acra, also had one of the longest trains anyone had ever seen--27-feet long.Bridesmaids who had to watch where they stepped included Vivica A. Fox, Holly Robinson Peete and Karenna Gore Schiff, daughter of former Vice President Al Gore.Other familiar faces in attendance were: Kelly Ripa; Blair Underwood; and all of Jones' View cohorts, Walters, Meredith Vieira, Joy Behar and Elisabeth Hasselbeck.Red-carpet habitu&233; Paris Hilton did not attend. However, her parents, Rick and Kathy Hilton, did.Befitting a couple with an official wedding Website, a cast of A-list guests and "an official airline" of the wedding weekend, Jones and Reynolds' ceremony was no last-minute affair. The event had been in the works since Reynolds popped the question to Jones at last February's NBA All-Star Game in Los Angeles. As the wedding loomed, Jones noted her impending nuptials once or twice on The View. In recent weeks, she came under fire for talking on-air about the wedding freebies she'd received from the corporate likes of Continental, the aforementioned official airline. ABC and Jones denied any broadcast regulations were violated by the mentions.A prosecutor turned TV personality, Jones has been with The View since its 1997 debut. She formerly was a legal commentator for Court TV, and currently is a pitchwoman for Payless Shoes. In September, she staked out the Emmys red carpet for E! Entertainment Television.Jones met Reynolds on Nov. 13, 2003, at a record release party in New York City for Alicia Keys. Saturday's wedding came exactly one year to the day of that first encounter.Born Starlet Jones, Jones is legally and professionally changing her name to Star Jones Reynolds.

NY POSTNovember 16, 2004 -- NAYSAYERS abound, but we'll bet Star Jones' marriage to Al Reynolds lasts at least two years. That's because Jones got Reynolds to sign a prenup stating that if the unholy alliance goes south before the two-year watermark, Reynolds gets nothing. Jones and Reynolds partied until the wee hours Sunday morning at the Waldorf after their wedding Saturday night — Reynolds' second all-nighter of the weekend. On Friday, he held his "Roman Baths"-themed bachelor party at the Time Hotel. "It was so uncomfortable," said our spy. "You had to sign a confidentiality agreement to get in and then you were sent to the penthouse, where they made you get naked." All clothes were put into plastic bags on the floor and the 60 men were given bathrobes to put on. "We sat basically naked in a freezing room for a couple of hours," says an attendee. "There were only two bars and they were sponsored by Hypnotiq, Remy and some awful beer. At 11:50 p.m., 10 topless girls came out. They were butt-ugly except for two of them who simulated lesbian sex on the bed. Ten people left immediately — it was very uncomfortable." Jones' rep declined comment. http://www.nypost.com/gossip/20577.htm

JONES TRASHES 'VIEW' CO-HOSTS

Page Six

STAR "Bridezilla" Jones' wild wedding rampage continued yesterday on live TV as she called her "View" co-hosts liars and berated them for breaking "rules" during her nuptials last weekend.

Two offenses particularly ticked her off ? Elisabeth Hasselbeck rearranged the seating cards at the reception at the Waldorf-Astoria, and Joy Behar dared to bring a camera even though guests were specifically told to leave cameras and kids at home.

"Rules are meant to be broken," Behar said gleefully on yesterday's edition of "The View," The Post's Don Kaplan reports.

"Rules are meant to be broken and people are meant to not get invited to the next thing," Jones replied ominously.

"We were so confident that it would be your last wedding that we did not care," said co-host Meredith Vieira.

Jones seemed especially peeved that Behar had brought a camera to the wedding and violated her fashion rules by wearing pants.

"I wasn't going to stress over that," Jones said about Behar's pants. "However, the camera was bad."

Behar joked: "She wrestled me [for the camera] ? it was great. She tried to take the camera away from me, but she couldn't get it from me because I lift weights."

"You're lying," Jones snapped. "I actually had it and I gave it back to you because I was going to take blood out of your veins."

Jones' venom was also directed at Hasselbeck, who looked visibly shaken when Jones berated her for having the nerve to rearrange her table's seats, resulting in "View" producer Bill Getty having to sit far away from his wife.

"There was this one person whose seat was all the way down at the other end of the table," Hasselbeck explained, "And all of a sudden the cards were getting moved."

When Vieira leapt to Hasselbeck's defense, Jones accused both co-hosts of being liars.

Jones married Wall Street trader Al Reynolds last Saturday at a star-studded wedding following months of rumors and hype.

The affair was tinged with controversy because Jones has been accused of giving shameless plugs on "The View" for products produced by her wedding suppliers and for naming several wedding "sponsors," including Continental Airlines.

Jones and Reynolds leave today on their honeymoon, starting out with a free trip to Dubai, the shopping capital of the Mideast.

ROYAL PAINBy LINDA STASINY PostSOMEONE has to stop Bridezilla Jones be fore she wrecks "The View" so badly that the Red Cross will have to step in.I'm talking about Star Jones, or based on her recent behavior, Schnorer Jones - the first celebrity (that we know of anyway) to have official sponsors of her wedding. The truth is that Jones has become so incredibly annoying and overbearing with her endless wedding whine that she's making "The View" harder to sit through a Mandy Patinkin tribute to Josh Groban.Even Catherine Zeta-Jones showed more restraint, if not less greed, when she married Michael Douglas. What is it with women named "Jones" and weddings?Take yesterday's show. Just when you thought it was safe to go back to "The View" (after all it was three days! - three days! - since the wedding-that-won't- stop was supposed to stop), Jones went semi-ballistic, calling her co-hosts liars and berating them for not adhering to wedding conduct code she'd set down.Elizabeth Hasselbeck looked ready to cry when Jones started carrying on that her young co-host had had the nerve to change her seat during the reception, thus breaking "the rules."Yes, Jones actually referred to conduct at her wedding as "rules," giving new meaning to the term, "rules of engagement." What was this, a wedding or a night in Fallujah? Then the controlled rage moved onto Meredeth Viera, who apparently had also committed the sin of moving her seat to sit next to Elizabeth, since both had come unescorted. It's not that they moved to another table, mind you, they just moved their seats around at their assigned table, which was enough to cause the on-air meltdown.Perhaps to get the heat off of her, Viera ratted out Joy Behar because Behar had brought a camera, and cameras were banned. Jones you see, had sold the rights to "In Style." What? No sponsorship patches all over the dress like the Nascar drivers?Bridezilla then turned on Behar and had the audacity to use that word - "audacity" - against Behar, one of the brightest, smartest and funniest women on television. Jones' exact quote? "Not only did she [behar] bring a camera - she had the audacity to pull it out and take my picture!"Excuse me? Can we get a reality check here? All that weight Jones lost must have gone straight to her ego.Behar, defending herself and trying to defuse the situation, said, "She wrestled me - it was great - tried to take the camera away from me, but she couldn't get it from me because I lift weights."Jones, clearly not seeing the humor in it, sneered back, "You're lying! I actually had it and I gave it back to you because I was going to take blood out of your veins!" Nice. And she was concerned about other people's behavior at her wedding?Things got so heated on the set that it sounded like "The McLaughlin Group," with everyone yelling at once. The whole endless, and I do mean endless, Jones' wedding frenzy has become more of a boring ordeal than the Liza Minelli/David Gest wedding which incidentally, lasted longer than the marriage.Jones and her husband are scheduled to go on their honeymoon today, so we might be blessedly freed from wedding talk on "The View" until she returns.I don't know who the official sponsor of her honeymoon is, but with any luck, there won't be any pictures. And I mean that sincerely.
