Someone Help Jessica Simpson

Cause girlfriend is getting TRAGIC. At a very VIP yacht party in Cannes this weekend, Jessica Simpson found herself very much out of her element. She went to the soiree after attending the Vanity Fair party at Hotel Du Cap and arrived, only to find that she didn't really know anyone there. From Page Six:

The part-time girlfriend of John Mayer "spent the whole night following Leonardo DiCaprio around like a lost puppy," said our source. "He just seemed freaked out and kind of ignored her."

And the problem is that his being freaked out and ignoring her probably only encouraged her to keep mildly stalking him, since it sounds like that's what John does to her more than half the time during their "relationship."

All-night Party Floats Cannes

May 26, 2007 -- SURVIVORS of the Cannes Film Festival report the best party of the star-studded, 12-day bacchanal so far was the bash Kid Rock threw on his yacht that featured a jam with Bono and James Blunt.

Guests including Jessica Simpson, Leo DiCaprio, Mischa Barton, Jude Law, Snoop Dogg, Minnie Driver, Jay-Z and the cast of “Entourage” went through over 100 bottles of champagne before the revelry ended at 9 a.m.

“Entourage” was in Cannes to shoot a scene starring Kevin (“Drama”) Dillon on the red carpet at the premiere of “Ocean’s Thirteen” as soon as the cast and Angelina Jolie cleared out.

Promoting “Ocean’s,” Andy Garcia was asked if the cast would appear on Oprah Winfrey’s show. He deadpanned, “I had to sleep with Oprah to get on her show!”

Talking about Al Pacino, who wasn’t there, producer Jerry Weintraub, said: “When Pacino first arrived for filming, he asked me what the cast thought of him. I said, ‘Al, what did you think about Brando when you arrived for “The Godfather?” ’ Interestingly, a few of the cast even referred to him as ‘Mr. Pacino.’ ”

At the V.I.P. club on the Croisette, Petra Nemcova was spotted “making out with Stavros Niarchos and dancing more sexily than the hired dancers.” Insiders say she’s trying to get revenge on ex-boyfriend Blunt,

who supposedly had flings with Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan, women Stavros has also had the pleasure of knowing.

At the AmFAR party at the Moulin de Mougins, Dita Von Teese and Rose McGowan - both exes of Marilyn Manson - proved they can act like ladies. “They ran into each other and exchanged glowing compliments,” said a spy.

There was good buzz on the sexually charged “Go-Go Girls,” the best movie by Abel Ferrara since “Bad Lieutenant” (1992). The film drew comparisons to the works of John Cassavetes and Woody Allen.

And there were boos for Ellen Barkin, at least from Newsweek’s Dana Thomas, who reports she was “waved away” by Barkin “like an annoying gnat and shoved by her bodyguard for good measure.” Thomas adds that “the division of the celebrities and socalled important people from the other 30,000 who descend on the Riviera resort for the 12-day event is slowly but surely killing the festive spirit.”

Russell Crowe Eyes DiCaprio's 'Body'

Ridley Scott will direct

June 28, 2007

Russell CroweRussell Crowe may join Leonardo DiCaprio in the political thriller "Body of Lies," which makes sense since it's directed by Ridley Scott.

The project is set up at Warner Bros. with "Departed" Oscar winner William Monahan adapting the book by David Ignatius. Production on "Body of Lies" may be ready to go forward by this fall, which would put it ahead of Scott and Crowe's proposed collaboration on Universal's "Nottingham," which likely won't be ready to go until early next year.

Either way, Scott directed Crowe to an Oscar for "Gladiator," though their work together on last year's "A Good Year" earned neither awards nor box office. Hopes are far higher for this winter's "American Gangster," which also stars Denzel Washington.

In "Body of Lies," DiCaprio would play a young CIA operative in Jordan who hatches a plan to flush out an Al Qaeda leader by spreading rumors that he's working with the Americans. DiCaprio's involvement with the film first popped up in the trades in April and Crowe has been circling ever since to play the operative's CIA boss.

If Crowe would just go out of his way to cast Sharon Stone in the film, he could have a full-fledged reunion of Sam Raimi's 1995 revisionist Western "Quick and the Dead," though that seems unlikely.

In addition to "American Gangster," Crowe will also be seen this fall in James Mangold's remake of "3:10 to Yuma," opposite Christian Bale.

Reliable Source

Leonardo DiCaprio, finally showing his face in D.C. Saturday afternoon more than a week and a half after co-star Russell Crowe arrived to shoot the spy thriller "Body of Lies." Leo made what may have been his first public appearance at Georgetown waterfront hangout Tony and Joe's in T-shirt, shades and scruffy goatee; he looked heavier than usual (for the role, no doubt), sat outside with two male friends and tipped 20 percent

George Clooney, Leonardo DiCaprio May Head 'North'

'Farragut North' is written Beau Willimon

October 11, 2007

Warner Bros. is hoping to pair up George Clooney and Leonardo DiCaprio for the political thriller "Farragut North."

The slowly mobilizing film is based on the play by Beau Willimon, a play that won't actually open on Broadway until next fall.

According to the industry trade papers, Clooney and DiCaprio are currently only in discussions. Were the two politically conscious stars to sign on for "Farragut North," Clooney would direct and produce, while DiCaprio would star and produce.

"Farragut North" stirred up some buzz this summer when Willimon held readings of the play featuring Jake Gyllenhaal in the lead role as a young communications officer who goes to work for an unorthodox presidential candidate only to have his idealism stripped away. Based loosely on Willimon's experience working on the Dean campaign in 2004, the Broadway version of "Farragut North" (the title refers to a Washington, D.C. Metro stop) will be directed by Mike Nichols.

There's some question as to when either busy actor would be able to get around to making this movie.

Clooney's latest acting gig, "Michael Clayton," is earning rave reviews in limited release, while he continues to work on his latest directing project, "Leatherheads," which was recently bumped to an April 2008 release. Clooney is expected to star in "White Jazz" next, though the busy Oscar winner has been circling several other films.

DiCaprio, meanwhile, has finished work with Kate Winslet and director Sam Mendes on "Revolutionary Road." He's currently shooting "Body of Lies" with Russell Crowe and director Ridley Scott.

All right. So did Leo and this girl break up then? And, if so, I see Kelly Slater is continuing his career as The Rebound Guy.

(10-20) 15:24 PDT JERUSALEM, Israel (AP) --

Police detained eight-time world surfing champion Kelly Slater early Saturday after a scuffle with photographers who were trying to take pictures of him with an Israeli supermodel, police said.

Israeli photographers were waiting outside as the American surfer and model Bar Rafaeli left a hotel in the Tel Aviv suburb of Herzliya before dawn Saturday, police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said.

Slater pushed the cameramen in an effort to prevent them from taking pictures, a photographer at the scene told Channel Two TV.

"A brawl broke out and Slater was taken for questioning and later released," Rosenfeld said.

It was not the first time foreign guests of Rafaeli have scuffled with journalists. Earlier this year, Rafaeli and her then-boyfriend, actor Leonardo DiCaprio, created a media storm when he visited her in Israel.

After eluding journalists for days, the pair was met by a group of waiting photographers when they toured Jerusalem. Their bodyguards scuffled with photographers, punching some and damaging equipment.

Rafaeli later told an Israeli newspaper she wouldn't bring anyone famous to Israel "because there is a chutzpah here that you won't see anywhere else."

Slater, who is of Syrian descent, was visiting Israel for the first time as part of efforts by the group "Surfing for Peace" to promote reconciliation between Israelis and Palestinians through the sport.

'Shutter Island' Reteams Martin Scorsese, Leonardo DiCaprio

After 'The Departed' and 'The Aviator' and 'Gangs of New York,' it's another reunion

October 23, 2007

Oscar-winning director Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio are in place to join forces again on an adaptation of Dennis Lehane's thriller "Shutter Island."

Variety indicates that packaging on the long-gestating film has suddenly accelerated with Paramount and Columbia looking to co-produce. An all-star team of production shingles will be involved, including Scorsese's Sikelia and DiCaprio's Appian Way banners, along with Phoenix Pictures.

The plan would be to shoot "Shutter Island" as early as March in a Northeastern location.

While Lehane is generally thought of as a chronicler of contemporary blue collar Boston neighborhoods, "Shutter Island" was a dramatic change of pace. Set in 1954, the twisty mystery focuses on a U.S. Marshall (DiCaprio) who finds himself investigating the disappearance of a patient at a hospital for the criminal insane in the midst of a hurricane. Think "Key Largo" meets "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest."

Laeta Kalogridis ("Alexander") has been trying to adapt the book, first optioned in 2003 by Columbia, for a year.

Scorsese has earned best director Oscar nominations for all three of his collaborations with DiCaprio (steering the actor to a nod for "The Aviator"), finally winning earlier this year for "The Departed."

While DiCaprio has shot "Revolutionary Road" and begun work on "Body of Lies," Scorsese has been slow to pick a "Departed" follow-up. The two were linked to an adaptation of "The Wolf of Wall Street" earlier this year.

Late Bloomer

LEONARDO DiCaprio wasn't always so smooth with the ladies. He was still a virgin at 17, says Russell Crowe in the new issue of Entertainment Weekly, on stands today. "You know, I worked with Leonardo when he was 17 on 'The Quick and the Dead [1995],' " says Crowe. "He was a virgin, and he'd talk about that constantly. So I'm hoping we have some time so he can fill in what's happened in between, maybe show some photos, because I'm sure life's different now."

Leonardo DiCaprio has taken the plunge with a remote controlled toilet that warms the seat before he gets on the throne.

The Hollywood star spent a whopping $3,200 to have his Los Angeles mansion kitted out with the flash flusher.

Leo, 33, won’t even have to get his hands dirty as the toilet seat of the ‘Toto Neorest 500′ automatically flips up when the owner approaches it.

Just six seconds after Oscar-nominated Leo leaves his five star toilet the seat will automatically go back down.

The posh toilet also comes with a timer-cleaning mode, and a built-in deodorizer, which kills off any nasty pongs.

And the water-saving toilet was no poo-er choice as it meets environmentally friendly Leo’s high standards. “Leo loves his new toilet,” an insider told In Touch magazine.

“It’s more like a toy since it has a remote control.”

Leonardo DiCaprio isn’t shy about letting people know he is back on with ex Bar Refaeli: They had a hot-and-heavy make-out session at new Las Vegas club, The Bank in the Bellagio Hotel, on New Year’s Eve.

DiCaprio and Refaeli arrived around 11:10 with actor Lukas Haas and 15 other pals. The group sat at a VIP table (stocked with $30,000 bottles of three liter Moet White Gold champagne!), overlooking the dance floor. Throughout the night, says an on-looker, the crew took countless pictures on their personal cameras. (At one point, DiCaprio even extended his arm and took a shot of him and Refaeli.)

At the strike of midnight, the duo “shared a long, passionate kiss,” the eye witness tells Usmagazine.com. They then downed Dom Pérignon champagne.

Kissing wasn’t their only activity — they danced a lot too.

When the DJ played Kelly Clarkson’s “Since U Been Gone,” DiCaprio began jumping up and down, the witness said.

While dancing to the Beyoncé hit “Crazy In Love,” he and Refaeli made out some more. The pair also boogied to the Notorious B.I.G.’s “Hypnotize,” Britney Spears’ “Piece of Me” and the Stevie Wonder classic “Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I’m Yours.”

At 2:20 a.m., they called it a night and left the club hand-in-hand.

DiCaprio suffered "great bodily injury" when Aretha Wilson, 37, allegedly attacked him with a broken beer bottle on June 20, 2005, as he was leaving a party in Hollywood Hills, according to the arrest warrant charging her with one count of assault with a deadly weapon.

Wilson has been in custody in Toronto due to an aggravated assault case and is suspected in other assault cases, Los Angeles police Detective Steve Ramirez said Thursday.

Leonardo DiCaprio sues building contractors

Lawsuit is the latest epsiode in the actor’s dispute with neighbors

The Associated Press

LOS ANGELES - It’s hardly a titanic struggle, but a dispute between Leonardo DiCaprio and his neighbors isn’t departing anytime soon.

DiCaprio and the cousin from whom he rents a house are suing dozens of building contractors in an ongoing legal fight over a basketball court that neighbors claim destabilized their Hollywood Hills property.

The cross-complaint filed Jan. 30 lists contractors hired by the neighbors and by DiCaprio and cousin Robert Hrtica themselves.

Neighbors Joan and Robert Linclau sued DiCaprio and Hrtica in May for at least $250,000 in damages. They claimed their property was illegally excavated and some plants removed in 2004. They also said the work undermined a slope behind their home and left their deck and pool in danger of collapse.

The latest complaint from DiCaprio says the Linclaus’ lawsuit has no merit, but if damages are found then the contractors are to blame.

Phone messages left after business hours to attorneys for the two sides and to the central contractor named in the suit were not immediately returned.

Previous court papers filed by DiCaprio contend the Linclaus may have caused the problems by installing an “illegal railroad tie retaining wall.”

DiCaprio, 33, was a best-actor Oscar nominee last year for “Blood Diamond.” His films also include “The Departed” and the megablockbuster “Titanic.”

Lohan working up charms

Rush & Molloy

Lindsay Lohan was working her charms as she fluttered back and forth between Adrian Grenier and Leonardo DiCaprio Tuesday night at a West Hollywood club. LiLo at first gravitated to Grenier, pulling off her red leather jacket and pulling him onto the dance floor. But when the girl he came with reclaimed the “Entourage” star, Lohan made her way over to the table where Leo was partying with Kevin Connolly and Lukas Haas. “She was very flirty with Leo,” says our spy. “But he wasn’t saying much to her.” DiCaprio and Grenier and their posses exited around 2 a.m., leaving Lohan with some girlfriends. P.S.: Our witness says the supposedly rehabbed actress was drinking vodka and Champagne.

I Love Lindsay Lohan

Posted Image

I love Lindsay Lohan, because she is one of the biggest sluts in Hollywood. I only wish she would be grateful for that and accept it. She tells the media that she's a good girl and stays inside...blah..blah... I just want her to tell them, "Listen, I'm young and I have a working coochie (that's up for debate) and I'm going to put it to good use." There's nothing wrong with that.

Anyway, Lindsay Lohan was partying Tuesday night in West Hollywood. She set her coochie sights on "Entourage" dude Adrian Grenier. She's denied dating him in the past, but Rush & Molloy reports she was on him like Britney on a Frapp. Things didn't go according to plan when Adrian's girlfriend showed up. Yeah, don't you hate those?

Lindsay didn't miss a beat and as soon as Adrian was done with her, she moved on to Leonardo DiCaprio. A witness said she was flirting with him and acting like a ho! The source said, “But he wasn’t saying much to her.”

Leo then left with Adrian leaving Lindsay without a dick for the night. Poor Lindsay. What's a slut without a dick? A sad slut.

Oh and a source claims she was drinking champs and Vodka the entire night.

DiCaprio, Warner Bros. in for live-action 'Akira'

By Borys Kit

Feb 21, 2008

Anime classic "Akira" is getting the live-action big screen treatment courtesy of Leonardo DiCaprio and Warner Bros.

Ruairi Robinson has been hired to direct what would ideally be a two-part epic. Gary Whitta is writing the adaptation, which DiCaprio will produce via his Appian Way shingle. Andrew Lazar is also producing via his Mad Chance shingle. Jennifer Davisson, who heads up Appian, will also be involved in some producorial capacity.

"Akira" originated in 1988 as a manga and then as an animated film co-written and directed by Katsuhiro Otomo. The story was set in a neon-lit futuristic post-nuclear war "New Tokyo" in 2019 where a teen biker gang member is subjected to a government experiment which unleashes his latent powers. The gang's leader must find a way to stop the ensuing swathe of destruction.

With its mature themes and cutting-edge animation, "Akira" was a milestone movie in anime and even animation circles, and led the way for anime making inroads into Western pop culture in the 1990s.

"Akira" has long been in development at the company, with producers Jon Peters and Basil Iwanyk involved at various times, as well as directors Stephen Norrington and Pitof. The rights lapsed but Warner managed to re-scoop them again for Robinson, who came to the studio with a vision of a two-part adaptation.

The new story moves the action to "New Manhattan," a city rebuilt by Japanese money.

The studio is eyeing a summer 2009 release for the first movie.

Greg Silverman is overseeing for Warners.

Whitta, repped by UTA and Circle of Confusion, wrote "The Book of Eli," which the Hughes Brothers are directing for Warners and Silver Pictures.

"Akira" would mark the feature directorial debut for Robinson who was nominated for a best animated short Oscar in 2001 for a sci-fi comedy called "Fifty Percent Grey." He also wrote and directed a sci-fi short titled "The Silent City." Robinson is repped by CAA and 3 Arts Entertainment.

Scorsese admits mental patients to "Island"

Leo Joins Junk Mail Crusade

Page Six

Leonardo DiCaprio can’t stand unsolicited missives showing up in his mailbox.

So the screen idol, 33 — along with fellow environmentalist Adrian Grenier — has joined a new move to establish a national Do Not Mail Registry.

Quietly launched February 29 by international environmental group ForestEthics, which protects endangered woodlands, the campaign is urging Americans to sign a petition demanding the federal government make it possible for citizens to say adios to junk mail — much in the way it did with 2003’s Do Not Call Registry.

At the moment, more than 23,000 people have signed the petition.

In addition to Leo (who, just became signer No. 22,816) and Adrian, other celebs have been quick to add their John Hancocks to the online list, including Darryl Hannah, 47, and Alicia Silverstone, 31.

Griped Adrian, 31, “Junk mail is more than an annoying waste of time, it’s a waste of our environment!”
