Sexual predators Fans everywhere are in mourning today with the news that Emma Watson has decided to walk away from her role as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter movies. News of the World says:

 

Daniel Radcliffe is already signed up to star as the quidditch-playing wizard and Rupert Grint will again play Harry's best pal Ron Weasley. He told us: "Emma doesn't want to do it any more. She's tired of being known as ‘that girl from Harry Potter'." Rupert added: "Daniel and I are distant from her now. We don't text or talk to her when we are not filming." Their last film together — Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix — comes out in July … Warner Brothers confirmed Emma has not signed for more movies.

 

This morning however, the BBC is running a story quoting Warner Brothers and they say that nothing is final and they are "extremely confident that Emma will be back for films six and seven." All this comes after a man labeled a "stalker" had to be taken away from the school Emma attends last week after he approached her on campus and started talking to her about the Harry Potter films. He was released with just a warning, but police say there have been other incidents since. Other sources say she was to blame for the incident. The guys in my cell all agree she initiated it by being a total cock tease. And now she's over reacting. But, you know, whatever. Stuff like this is why I hardly ever ask out 16 year olds anymore.

Watson 'will finish' Potter films

 

Filming of the sixth Harry Potter movie is due to begin later this year

Actress Emma Watson is likely to return as Hermione in the last two Harry Potter movies despite reports she may quit, producers Warner Bros have said.

 

"We're extremely confident that Emma will be back for films six and seven," a spokesperson for the Hollywood studio told CBBC's Newsround.

 

The statement comes amid speculation that the 16-year-old told the company she did not want to continue.

 

Daniel Radcliffe has already agreed to take the lead role in both productions.

 

There have been four films based on JK Rowling's books so far, with the fifth - Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - due for release in July.

 

Filming for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is scheduled to begin this year, with a release date at some point in 2008.

 

A release date in 2010 has been mooted for the seventh and final movie, The Deathly Hallows - the year Watson will turn 20.

I totally agree plick....the money alone should be worth making the last two. And let's face it if she drops out, she would be considered the dummy who did not make the last two, and that is what she would be remembered for.

 

Hopefully (fingers and toes crossed) these kids will make these movies, settle into school, figure out what makes the world tick and come back in say 7-10 years. They are set financially if their parents are smart, and in interviews they all seem to have their head on straight. I am hoping these three buck the trend and become intelligent well-adjusted young adults.

LOS ANGELES - Countering widespread speculation, “Harry Potter” actress Emma Watson has decided to reprise her role as girl wizard Hermione Granger in the final films of the hit series, Warner Bros. said Friday.

 

Along with Watson, Rupert Grint will return as Harry’s friend, Ron Weasley, and as previously announced, Daniel Radcliffe signed up to return as boy wizard Harry in the sixth and seventh installments of the seven-part series.

 

“I could never let Hermione go — she is my hero!” Watson said in a statement from the Warner Bros. film studio. “I love her too much and love what playing her has meant to me.”

 

Recent news reports speculated the 16-year-old Watson may not return to the role she originated. Her absence would have been a blow to the millions of fans who love the adventure movies based on the best-selling books by British author J.K. Rowling.

 

The trio round out the main characters in the movie series that began in 2001 with “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,” a box-office sensation that raked in $976 million in global ticket sales.

 

Three other “Potter” movies have since been released, adding nearly $2.6 billion to the worldwide box office. In all, the four “Harry Potter” movies have grossed more than $3.5 billion.

 

The fifth film in the series, “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix,” is scheduled for release July 13.

 

As the series has continued, speculation has mounted that the original three actors might be growing too old to play the teenage wizards. Radcliffe, 17, and Grint, 18, have already moved on to more adult stories on stage and screen.

 

Radcliffe is winning rave reviews in a London theater production of “Equus” in which he appears nude. Last year, Grint portrayed a young man who loses his virginity in coming-of-age movie “Driving Lessons.”

If the pic isn't photoshopped there could be another explanation. My 15 year old daughter likes to joke around and sometimes picks up my drink (wine or beer) and pretends to take a sip. Emma could be mugging for the camera and not actually drinking. But what do I know, she could be the next in rehab.

Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson, who play young wizards Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, say they have experimented just like all other teenagers.

 

Emma, 17, said: "You are careful not to do it in the public eye. You have your first cigarette or first glass of alcohol in a safe environment with your close friends - or you could be foolish and choose to do it in a London nightclub."

 

18-year-old Rupert added: "Because we are quite busy we do miss out, but we still have those kinds of experiences like getting drunk for the first time."

 

Despite enjoying going out, Daniel, 17, says he always puts his work first.

 

He revealed: "What I enjoy most is the acting and the work, but it doesn't stop us from having a party once in a while. Parties are fine and fun."

 

In the latest film, 'Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix', Daniel has his first on-screen kiss with Katie Leung, who plays fellow Hogwarts pupil Cho Chang.

 

But he admits he wasn't nervous as nothing can touch the nerve-wracking experience of appearing naked on stage, which he did in West End hit 'Equus'.

 

He said: "Once you've been on stage naked in front of 1,000 people you really feel you can do most anything without inhibition.

 

"The kissing was fun but less sexy than I imagined. We probably got it right on the 30th take!"

Wow this just makes me really sad. As ive said, she seems totally normal and well behaved. and these ASSHOLEs are trying to nudge her into making herself look bad. why can't they value a decent kid? this genuinely upsets me.

When a few cameramen started asking her to give them the finger, Watson just kept smiling, clearly not understanding the thick American accents of the photogs.

 

Maria Menounos, who was doing an interview with Watson, explained what paps were asking her to do, and Emma cracked up, shaking her head and saying, "No!!"

Considering that the drinking age in the UK is 18, I don't find this particularly scandalous. They seem like a far better behaved lot that Hohan, Duff, etc. were at the same age.

TEEN starlet Emma Watson is nursing a secret heartache as work starts on the new Harry Potter movie – she and her rugby hunk boyfriend have split.

 

Emma, 17, Hogwarts beauty Hermione Granger – was last night said to be “distraught” over her break-up with strapping Tom Ducker.

A pal said: “She is very upset. He was her first love.”

 

The Sun revealed Emma and the up-and-coming Wasps star, 17, were an item after they began dating at the start of this year.

 

The romance went from strength to strength as she whisked him to the French Riviera for a holiday this summer.

 

The lovebirds were spotted hanging out in nightclubs and eating lobster with £90 bottles of champagne.

 

Last night a spokesman for the actress said the reason for the split was simply that the magic had gone from the relationship.

 

The aide said: “They just drifted apart as teenagers do. Emma is now just concentrating on her A-levels and the new film.”

 

But friends claimed she DUMPED the hunk after seeing pictures on a website of him with a string of teenagers at a party.
