PHOTO: Charlie Sheen's Christmas Card

Monday December 28, 2009 10:00 AM EST

Looks like Charlie Sheen didn't expect to get coal – or police handcuffs – this Christmas.

In the TV star's holiday card, sent out well before his arrest Friday on domestic-violence charges, Sheen, 44, is grinning broadly alongside wife Brooke Mueller and their twin boys in Los Angeles – giving no cause to suspect that he'd be spending his Christmas in jail, and the the two would be headed to counseling.

On the right side of the same card, Mueller's family poses together in Palm Beach, wearing noticeably less festive outfits. "Happy Holidays From All of Us to You!" the card reads merrily underneath.

Apparently, happy holidays were one gift Santa didn't bring the Sheen family this year.

Charlie Sheen and Wife To Undergo Counseling

Originally posted 12/26/2009 07:30PM

Charlie Sheen and wife Brooke Mueller are planning to undergo counseling after a heated fight at a dinner party in Aspen, Colo., that landed Charlie in jail on domestic violence charges Friday morning.

"They were fighting at a dinner in a friend’s house and it continued until the next morning," a source close to Mueller tells PEOPLE. "Both of them were drinking and neither was supposed to be. They both have histories of alcohol abuse and have made every effort to stop. But things got out of hand."

Sheen, 44, was booked at 11:20 a.m. for second-degree assault, menacing and criminal mischief, according to a spokesperson for the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Department in Aspen, Colo. The actor posted an $8,500 bond Friday night and was released from jail at 7 p.m. He is due in court on Feb. 8, 2010 at 10:30 a.m.

"Charlie went right back to Los Angeles after he was released from jail," the source tells PEOPLE. "Both he and Brooke will undergo counseling and Charlie will get anger management counseling."

Charlie Sheen's Women Troubles Are Nothing New

Goodwill toward men? Charlie Sheen's got it. Goodwill toward women? As his unscheduled solo holiday plans have suggested, that's up for a little more debate.

And while we're all for innocent until proven guilty—or, as Sheen's rep would and has implored, "do not be mislead by appearance"—it certainly appears as though the highest-paid sitcom star around is less than adept at managing his personal life, particularly when it comes to his real-life leading ladies.

But don't take our word for it, take his well-worn rap sheet's:

• 1990: Sheen accidentally shoots then-fiancée Kelly Preston in the arm. As flesh wounds have a funny way of killing the mood, the engagement is called off shortly thereafter.

• 1995: Two words: Heidi Fleiss. Sheen admits to being a client of the so-called Hollywood Madam, copping to having spent $50,000 for the, um, services of her call girls.

• 1995: Two months after marrying model Donna Peele, Sheen was sued by a UCLA student who claimed he struck her in the head back in 1994 after she refused him sex. The case was settled out of court.

• 1997: Sheen pleads no contest to battery charges brought by former girlfriend, model-actress Brittany Ashland, who claims Sheen threw her onto his kitchen floor and split her lip. He earned a year's suspended sentence, two years' probation and a $2,800 fine.

• 1998: Sheen enters lockdown rehab after being hospitalized for a drug overdose. The get-clean action was necessary after his father, Martin Sheen, turned him in for violating his parole.

• 2005: Denise Richards files for divorce while pregnant, publicly accusing Sheen of "inappropriate behavior," including dalliances with prostitutes, gambling problems and drug and alcohol problems, that could negatively impact his daughters' upbringing. Sheen denies everything, calling the claims "laughable and inane."

• 2009: Sheen is arrested on felony menacing charges and spends Christmas in a Colorado jail after wife Brooke Mueller tells cops the actor threatened her with a knife. He's due to return to court to face the charges on Feb. 8.

Police: Mueller Says Sheen Threatened to Kill Her

Today 5:32 PM PST by Natalie Finn

Frank Micelotta/Emmys/Getty Images for FOX

The plot sickens.

Charlie Sheen held wife Brooke Mueller down on their bed and threatened to kill her if she told anybody about his bad behavior, according to an arrest warrant affidavit released today to E! News detailing what Mueller told police after the Christmas Day incident with her husband.

Read the report

Sheen became enraged when Mueller told him she wanted a divorce and would take their children away, states the report filed by responding officer Rick Magnuson of the Aspen Police Department. (Mueller talked to a female officer at the scene, who relayed her statements to Magnuson.)

When Mueller said this, Sheen straddled her on the bed and grabbed the upper part of her throat, she told police, adding that he then put a knife to her throat and said, "You better be in fear. If you tell anybody, I'll kill you."

And his alleged comments get nastier.

"Your mother's money means nothing, I have ex-police I can hire who know how to get the job done and they won't leave any trace," Sheen continued, according to Mueller.

Mueller told the police that she feared for her life and that Sheen only let her up when she apologized, telling him, "You're right, you're right, you're right. I'm sorry, I love you."

The 32-year-old mother of twins had red marks on her neck that Mueller said were caused when Sheen held her down, the report continues.

While the female cop was questioning Mueller, Magnuson was busy with Sheen, who is referred to throughout the report by his given name, Carlos Irwin Estevez.

Magnuson states that Mueller, who had called 911, was in the kitchen and Sheen was upstairs when he first arrived at their home.

Once he got ahold of Sheen, the actor told the cop that Mueller had been "abusing alcohol" and that the two had been having marital problems.

Sheen told Magnuson that Mueller was jealous of his relationship with a daughter he fathered with someone else and that their latest argument started when he "shared a song for his daughter."

Their "predominantly verbal" scuffle escalated and both slapped each other's arm during the fight, Sheen said. Mueller "irately" threatened to divorce him and take the kids, and at some point he grabbed her eyeglasses off her face and snapped them in two, the actor admitted.

Per the report, Sheen denies ever threatening his wife with a knife or strangling her.

Once he had seen the weapon, a folding knife with a 4-inch blade, and talked to Mueller, Magnuson put Sheen under arrest.

The Two and a Half Men star was booked on suspicion of menacing and second-degree assault, both felonies, as well as misdemeanor criminal mischief.

He posted $8,500 bail that night, and a routine order of protection was issued mandating that Sheen stay away from Mueller and not try to contact her.

Sheen is due in court Feb. 8 to face the rap.

His ass needs to be locked up. He is one fucked up individual and is DANGEROUS! Sad thing about it is that once these 2 get divorced, in a couple of years some other young thing will see fame, fortune and social status when she looks at him and the cycle will start all over.

Source: Sheen Fight Sparked By Daughter Sam

Today 6:19 PM PST by Marc Malkin

Wenn.com

Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller's heated holiday argument is not something new to their family and friends.

"The tiniest thing will set them off," a source says. "Charlie has a bad temper. It gets scary."

According to a police affidavit, Sheen claims that their Christmas Day blowout was sparked when he told Mueller about a song he has with one of his and ex-wife Denise Richards' two daughters.

A source tells us that the daughter is the oldest of the two, five-year-old Sam...

The song apparently has something to do with a Christmas present Sheen bought for Sam. Sheen has told people that Mueller became upset and wanted to know why she and Sheen didn't have a similar song, the source says.

"Charlie says she is really jealous of his daughters, especially after he and Denise finally started getting along," the source says.

The source also says that Mueller has become increasingly suspicious of Sheen because of his past substance abuse issues and fondness for call girls.

"Obviously the fight wasn't just about the song," the source says. "Nothing excuses what Charlie may have done, but there's more there."

The source said many around the couple believe that both of them need help. "They've got to think about those two little boys," the source said, referring to Sheen and Mueller's 9-month-old twin sons, Bob and Max. "But, yeah, I think it will end in divorce."

You're just NOW worrying about this, Brooke?

And your spin machine expects us to believe that this was all about jealousy of a five year old, Charlie?

Actually, I am more inclined to believe that her asking for a divorce is the real reason for the blow up....and that Charlie has the worst spin doctors on the planet.

Charlie Sheen 'Getting Tattoos Removed'

Charlie Sheen is planning to undergo laser surgery to remove several of his tattoos.

The Two And A Half Men actor is said to currently have 11 designs on his body, but legal papers relating to his Christmas Day bust-up with wife Brooke Mueller reveal that he is in the process of having four of them removed.

The official affidavit obtained by Radar Online describes each of Sheen's inkings, and states that the angel wings on his right ankle, a Japanese samurai on his arms, a zipper and a New York Yankees logo are all "being removed".

Sheen's other body art is also said to include etchings of a cigarette, a stingray and the cartoon character Charlie Brown.

The actor is facing charges of second-degree assault, menacing and criminal mischief following a violent row with Mueller during the couple's festive vacation in Aspen, Colorado.

Sheen is due to face prosecution in February.

Brooke Mueller wants to reconcile with Charlie Sheen

Charlie Sheen's wife Brooke Mueller wants a U.S. judge to change the terms of a protective order she has against the actor to allow the couple a chance to reconcile and save their troubled marriage.

The "Two and a Half Men" star was arrested on Christmas morning after a nasty dispute with Mueller in Aspen, Colorado.

Sheen faces charges for second-degree assault, menacing and criminal mischief for the incident, in which he is alleged to have threatened his wife with a knife, and he is due in court in February.

But, contrary to tabloid rumors, Mueller is refusing to give up on her marriage and wants to settle her differences with Sheen, reports TMZ.com.

She has hired top criminal defense lawyer Yale Galanter to represent her and he is planning to file papers in an Aspen court on Wednesday to request permission for the pair to resume contact "so they can work on resolving the conflicts in their marriage".

Galanter has also played down the events of Christmas Day, branding it "one bad night" in their 19-month marriage.

Sheen has since returned to Los Angeles while Mueller has stayed on in Aspen.

He faces up to eight years for the menacing charge, the most serious of the three, in addition to a fine of between $2,000 and $500,000.

Galanter's comments echo those of Sheen's manager Mark Burg, who claimed the couple is set to undergo counseling together in the New Year and have no plans to divorce.

Lawyer denies Charlie Sheen's wife 'changed her story'

An attorney representing Charlie Sheen's wife, Brooke Mueller, has dismissed reports she "changed her story" after the initial 911 call that landed her husband behind bars on Christmas Day .

The actor was arrested on Christmas morning after a nasty argument with Mueller in Aspen, Colo.

Sheen faces charges of second-degree assault, menacing and criminal mischief over the incident, in which he is alleged to have threatened his wife with a knife. He is due in court in February.

After the incident, reports surfaced suggesting Mueller was angling to retract her claims in a bid to save her marriage.

But Yale Galanter, the lawyer representing Mueller, is adamant she has not tried to change her initial statement to police.

He tells E! News, "That never happened, she never recanted and she never changed her story."

Inside Charlie & Brooke's Twisted Marriage

January 6, 2010

Posted Image

The fight in which Charlie Sheen allegedly put a knife to his wife's neck and threatened to kill her has shone new light on Hollywood's most twisted marriage — and bizarrely those who know the couple aren't even shocked!

In the Jan. 18 issue of Star — on sale now — we report that, even by Hollywood standards, Charlie’s 20-month marriage to Brooke Mueller sets a new low for dysfunction. Sex, drugs and violence are all detailed in our cover story.

Charlie is known for his use of hookers, but in the world exclusive, we reveal that at least two Hollywood A-listers have also ended up sharing his bed — with Brooke in there too.

Now fears are growing for the couple’s twin toddlers, Bob and Max. “They are caught in the middle,” says a friend. "Charlie and Brooke are behaving like monsters — and the children may end up bearing the brunt of it!”

And while the couple's lawyers try to do damage control following the Aspen bust-up, neither Charlie nor Brooke has been acting like a responsible parent trying to move on from the darkest day of their relationship. An insider tells Star that the Two and a Half Men actor returned to L.A. and ordered a call girl to come over to his hous

CHARLIE SHEEN AND WIFE ON COCAINE NIGHT OF INCIDENT

Wild wild Charlie Sheen and his wife went on an all-night Yuletide cocaine binge before Charlie went ballistic resulting in his arrest after the crazed Two and a Half Men star allegedly attacked his terrified spouse with a knife and threatened to kill her.

Sources close to the couple gave The ENQUIRER an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the Christmas Day fracas that left badly shaken Brooke Mueller fearing for her life.

All hell broke loose after 44-year-old Sheen flew to Aspen, Colo., to visit his estranged wife and their twin babies.

He took along his "sober minder" - a watchdog charged with keeping him away from alcohol - but that didn't stop the visit from quickly spinning out of control.

"The minder was downstairs while Charlie and Brooke snorted cocaine until the morning hours - when they began the fight that resulted in his arrest," revealed a source.

Brooke, 32, called the cops at 8:35 a.m., claiming her husband held a four-inch blade to her throat and warned her: "You better be in fear.

"If you tell anybody, I'll kill you."

Brooke Mueller Moves Home, Charlie Sheen Moves Out

Brooke Mueller has moved back into the Los Angeles home she shared with Charlie Sheen – and the Two and Half Men star has moved out so as not to violate a restraining order filed against him after their domestic dispute on Christmas Day.

Mueller flew back to L.A. with the couple's twin sons from her rental house in Aspen, Colo. where the fight occurred, her lawyer Yale Galanter tells PEOPLE. Sheen, meanwhile, remains in Los Angeles where he's at work on his hit show.

"Brooke has personal matters and places to take the twins in Los Angeles, so she went home for a few days," says Galanter. "Charlie is staying with a friend for the time she is there."

Sheen, 45, was arrested Dec. 25 after Mueller called 911 saying the actor threatened her. A judge issued a temporary restraining order against Sheen.

Mueller, 32, maintained that she wants to see her husband again. Her attorney filed a motion to try to get the order's no-contact clause thrown out.

Mueller and Sheen will return to Colorado for the Jan 20 hearing, her lawyer said.

"Brooke still has her house in Aspen and will be back next week," Galanter tells PEOPLE. "So will Charlie. But not together."

RadarOnline.com first reported the news of Mueller's return to L.A.

Charlie Sheen & Denise Richards reunite for their kids

Troubled actor Charlie Sheen reunited with his ex-wife Denise Richards on New Year's Eve to throw a special party for their daughters.

Sheen's holiday season was marred by a Christmas Day arrest following a fight with his current wife Brooke Mueller in Aspen, Colorado which has left him facing charges of second-degree assault, menacing and criminal mischief.

But the "Two and a Half Men" star managed to shrug off his current troubles and put his past problems with Richards behind him, for an intimate family gathering at the actress' home in Los Angeles on December 31.

The former couple - who previously endured a bitter custody battle over their two girls, Sam, five, and Lola, four - came together to throw a magical party for the youngsters, which included shipping ready-made snow to Richards' back yard.

The event also included face-painting and a petting zoo in the garden, which was decorated with giant edible candy canes, according to Britain's OK! magazine.

However, Sheen's wife and their baby twins were a notable absence from the party - the couple is being kept apart by a restraining order designed to protect Mueller following the clash with her husband. The pair will head to court this month in a bid to have the ban lifted.

Denise Richards Feels 'Sad' for Charlie Sheen

When Charlie Sheen was arrested for allegedly threatening wife Brooke Mueller, his ex-wife Denise Richards decided not to tell their daughters that the only way Dad could wish them a Merry Christmas was by calling collect from jail.

Richards, appearing Tuesday on The Oprah Winfrey Show, said she didn't want Sam, 5, and Lola, 4, happily playing with their new American Girl dolls, to know that Sheen was spending the holiday in an Aspen, Colo., jail.

But eventually, "I did have to tell them about their dad," Richards says, after a kindergarten pal told Sam she'd heard Sheen was in jail and wondered if he was still there.

When Sheen did call Richards on Christmas Day, all he told her was that he and Mueller had been in a fight and that she'd called police. "It's sad," Richards says of Sheen and Mueller's situation. "Perhaps people can understand what I went through."

Asked if Sheen had been abusive during their own marriage, Richards says that there were "a lot of verbal arguments that got heated that scared me" – but that he never hit her. He did, however, push and shove her, which eventually led Richards to seek protection from him, she says.

"I was in a very dark place," she tells Winfrey. "Especially when I filed the restraining order, I was humiliated. I was scared. I was embarrassed."

Now, however, through their work with a mediator, "Charlie and I are in a great place," she says. So much so that the couple shared an early New Year's Eve dinner together, along with Richards's father. Plus, she says she trusts her ex with their daughters.

As for another ex, Richards tries to clear up misconceptions about her relationship with Richie Sambora. She tells Winfrey that when the pair got together, "We were both single," and that she and Heather Locklear, whom Sambora was divorcing, were no longer friends. "If we were friends, I never would have crossed that line with Richie," she says.

As for what gets her through the rough spots these days, she says she looks to her family: "My daughters are my pillars of strength."

Charlie Sheen's Wife Checks Into Rehab

Brooke Mueller -- Charlie Sheen's wife -- has reportedly checked into a North Carolina drug and alcohol treatment center.

TMZ has learned Brooke and her mother flew by private jet to Elizabeth City Regional Airport in North Carolina yesterday. They landed at 5:58 PM ET. Brooke told people at the airport, "I'm not feeling very well."

The pilot told airport employees Brooke would be in North Carolina "for about a week."

As we first reported, Brooke was released from the hospital yesterday after fighting pneumonia but still had fluid in her lungs.

Sources tell TMZ the pneumonia Brooke suffered last week was a secondary situation -- her immune system had become so weakened by substance abuse that she became susceptible to infection.

Mueller's Attorney Denies Rehab Reports

An attorney for Charlie Sheen's sick wife Brooke Mueller has clarified reports she has checked into a drug rehabilitation centre in North Carolina, insisting the recovery retreat is also designed for people with seriousillnesses.

Mueller was admitted to hospital last week (20Jan10) suffering from pneumonia in both lungs, linked to a recent operation to remove her wisdom teeth.

She was transferred to an intensive care unit, where she was being treated with antibiotics.

She was discharged from a Los Angeles hospital on Monday (25Jan10) and new reports suggest the 32 year old has checked into rehab to deal with her personal demons.

But Mueller's attorney Yale Galanter insists her client has checked into Two Dreams, a treatment centre specialising in drug and alcohol addiction, to recover from her illness and not to seek help for substance abuse.

A protective court order preventing Mueller and Sheen from contacting one another is still in effect, following an alleged domestic incident on Christmas Day (25Dec09), which landed the actor in jail in Aspen, Colorado.

The couple reunited briefly when Sheen was given the all-clear to visithis wife in hospital after a judge relaxed the protection order.

According to Galanter, Mueller is expected to remain at the facility for about a week.

Meanwhile, Sheen is taking care of the couple's two kids at the family home in Los Angeles.

Mueller has been arrested twice previously, for an outstanding warrant for cocaine possession and for driving under the influence.

A hearing to review the pair's protection order was postponed until 8 February (10) after Mueller fell ill.

Police: Sheen vehicle stolen, crashed in ravine

By ROBERT JABLON, Associated Press Writer

A Mercedes that Charlie Sheen reported stolen from his Sherman Oaks home was found overturned hundreds of feet down a nearby cliff early Friday, but there's no evidence anyone was in the car when it went into the ravine, police said.

A Bentley was later found off the same road nearby Friday afternoon, and police said three other cars reportedly were broken into in the same area. Police were investigating if the incidents were linked.

Police got an emergency call around 4 a.m. from an OnStar-style alert system that calls emergency officials when there is a problem with the vehicle that may require assistance, Officer Wendy Reyes said. At about the same time, Sheen called police to say his four-door Mercedes-Benz had been stolen, Officer Bruce Borihanh said.

Police and firefighters found the car 300 to 400 feet down a cliff, upside-down in the brushy ravine. They searched the area on foot and with an infrared-equipped helicopter but found nobody in or around the car, Borihanh said.

"They've looked all around the hillside. There's nobody in the car, nobody around (and no) evidence of anybody being around at the moment of impact," he said.

Sheen was not believed to have been in the car because he would have been badly injured in the accident and "I don't know how he would have gotten back up" the cliff, Borihanh said.

"It's being treated as an auto theft investigation," he said.

The car was later hauled back up the hillside and probably would be impounded while the investigation continues, Officer April Harding said.

The actor's publicist, Stan Rosenfield, confirmed that Sheen's car was reported stolen but said he had no details.

"Charlie is fine, and the police are investigating," he wrote in an e-mail.

Yale Galanter, an attorney for his wife, Brooke Sheen, said he could not comment on the crash because it was under investigation.

Several hours after Sheen's car was discovered, the Bentley was found off the cliff a few blocks away by a photographer, officials said. There was nobody in the car, which apparently was stolen from a neighborhood adjoining Sheen's, said police spokesman Richard French.

Other details remained sketchy.

"We're not sure yet if the Bentley was taken by the same individual or individuals who took the other car. We have very few leads," he said.

French said three other cars reportedly were broken into overnight in the same general area. No arrests were immediately made.

Sheen, 42, the star of the CBS comedy "Two and a Half Men," was arrested after a Christmas Day domestic disturbance at his Aspen home. A police officer's arrest affidavit quoted his wife as saying the actor pinned her on a bed while holding a knife to her throat.

Sheen denies threatening his wife. He's scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Aspen on domestic violence charges. He and his wife also are seeking modification of an order that prevents them from communicating with each other. She has said they love each other and want to reconcile.

Brooke Sheen spent a week in a Los Angeles hospital last month, including several days in intensive care due to an infection and life-threatening pneumonia that developed after oral surgery. Her attorney has said she delayed having oral surgery because of scheduled court hearings in the domestic violence case.
