Charlie Sheen

Recommended Posts

Couldn't they do the show without him a couple of episodes? He could be in NY working on a jingle or something. Have a friend move in temporarily while he is away. The public would understand. Best case is that they find out the show can live without him. Worst case is that they have to stop production....

The biggest shame is the amount of people he potentially puts out of work.

That is a good idea. Or he is in the hospital because of a sex-related accident or he is in Tahiti or even have some fun with "he just left" "he's in the bathroom" " asleep" shoot a double from the back, and have his dad on for a guest shot. (I love Martin Sheen.) Have his brother dream that Charlie has been replaced by someone else totally unlike him. There are lots of ways if they want to do it.

They need to put it into his contract that if production has to shut down because of him, everyone on the show still gets paid what they would have made if he was there...and it comes out of his paychecks.

And if Denise Richards has any brains in her head, she has it written into their divorce agreement that Charlie has to have life insurance policies worth big bucks with their daughters as the beneficiaries, because he won't be alive by the time they're grown.

Martin Sheen has already done a turn as stalker neighbor Rose's father. Martin's character also had a brief fling with Charlie's mother Evelyn, so it would be pretty tough to plausibly pull off another guest shot.

That said, I agree that there are lots of other ways to get around this so that the rest of the cast and crew can continue to work in the mean time. Hopefully CBS will find a way to do right by these folks.

Charlie Sheen has opted out of a 3 month rehab program and instead will rehab at home...while going to work. After deciding to do his three-month stint in "rehab" from the comfort of his home, Charlie Sheen also decided he will work during "rehab," so that Two and a Half Men won't fall too far behind.

Call me skeptical, but how many people think that this is really going to be effective? Though I agree it's a shame about putting people out of work. Personally I think the show is weak, though when desperate I have watched it, despite Charlie, not because of him. The other characters on the show make it, IMO

Oh, ok, I didn't know that. I must confess that I don't watch the show.

Charlie Sheen: 'I'll Pay the Crew'

2/9/2011 12:30 PM PST by TMZ Staff

Charlie Sheen has notified members of the "Two and a Half Men" crew that he will pay a portion of their salaries for the two weeks the show has been down ... if CBS and Warner Bros. agree to pay the remaining portion.

TMZ has confirmed ... Charlie is saying he is ready to come back to work next week to complete the season. We're told Charlie is upset that Warner Bros. and show creator Chuck Lorre have not offered to pay the crew for the downtime, so he's made an offer to pay 1/3 of the crew salaries if Warner Bros. and CBS each pay 1/3 as well.

A CBS exec tells TMZ ... no one on the show is ready to go back to work on Monday. We're told under the best of circumstances the show will come back at the end of the month, assuming Charlie can handle it.

And the CBS exec adds, no one has asked the network to pay 1/3 of the crew salaries for the downtime.

A Warner Bros. exec would not address Charlie's financial offer but told us ... "We sincerely hope that Charlie's rehab is going well. We hope that he is healthy in the very near future and we look forward to the return of production of 'Two and a Half Men.'"

Report: 'Two and a Half Men' shuts down for the season

By Anna Chan, TV Editor

Uh oh. Looks like Charlie Sheen's wild radio rant on "The Alex Jones Show" Thursday is having a really negative impact.

Gossip site TMZ.com reports that the hit CBS show is immediately stopping production for the rest of the season, even though Sheen was originally scheduled to return to the set next week.

"Based on the totality of Charlie Sheen's statements, conduct and condition, CBS and Warner Bros. Television have decided to discontinue production of 'Two and a Half Men' for the remainder of the season," the network said in a statement.

In case you missed it, the troubled actor said some pretty nasty things on Jones' show. He called "Two and a Half Men" creator Chuck Lorre a "turd" and made it clear that he didn't think the wildly popular show could survive without him. "Do what you're gonna do -- I'll go make movies," he said in the interview.

But that's not all. Sheen continued his rant by making a few comments to TMZ: "I violently hate (Lorre)," the actor said. "He's a stupid, stupid little man and a (expletive) punk that I'd never want to be like. That's me being polite."

Charlie Sheen is a waste of space as far as I am concerned. He had a promising film career but what movies does he think he'll get hired for now with all his troubles? He's an arrogant piece of crap who plays himself on 2 and a half men. I think Jon Cryer is far more talented than Charlie :censored: Sheen. He's an absolute tosser!! JMVHO :angry3:

It's Cryer and the crew I feel most for. I don't think Cryer will get another chance like this one, although I think the kid has a great future. He's actually made some appearances on one of the mulititude of Disney shows my daughter watches.

Sheen blasts 'Men' creator after show's shutdown

By Anna Chan, TV Editor

"Two and a Half Men" star Charlie Sheen has responded in an open letter after CBS and Warner Bros. Television decided to shut down production of the hit sitcom. The move by the companies was in response to the actor's rant against show creator Chuck Lorre during a Thursday radio interview and later to TMZ.

Sheen gave his letter to TMZ, which reads:

What does this say about (Chuck Lorre) after he tried to use his words to judge and attempt to degrade me. I gracefully ignored this folly for 177 shows ... I fire back once and this contaminated little maggot can't handle my power and can't handle the truth. I wish him nothing but pain in his silly travels especially if they wind up in my octagon. Clearly I have defeated this earthworm with my words -- imagine what I would have done with my fire breathing fists. I urge all my beautiful and loyal fans who embraced this show for almost a decade to walk with me side-by-side as we march up the steps of justice to right this unconscionable wrong.

Remember these are my people ... not yours...we will continue on together...

I don't think I will ever watch anything he is in again. I hope they figure out a way to keep the show going without him. I would always try to catch a rerun, and now I purposely don't.

Wow - how can anyone like him or take him seriously after this. He's totally fried whatever brains he had. And he wins for being the biggest arrogant jackass possible during his nosedive. "These are my people"????!??!?! WTF? Seriously deluded.

Too bad - I never thought he was attractive, but I always thought he was an unexpectedly strong comedic actor. Can't stand that stupid show, but I do feel bad for Cryer and others who are probably losing a good gig they can't replace.

I feel like he's having a Britney breakdown... Like shaving the head, ambulance dragging you out of bathroom, breakdown. This is so sad. He's on the brink of disaster.

As much as I think Charlie Sheen has some major issues, not all of which stem from drug use, I think he is probably right when he says the show would not survive without him. But I also think the show is showing it's age as well. If it comes back next season, I'd be surprised. I wonder what Lorre did to cause sheen to go on such a rant? Maybe nothing?

After Charlie Sheen's Rant, CBS Pulls Plug on Two and a Half Men

By: Glen Levy

In the words of CBS and Warner Bros., due to the "totality of Charlie Sheen's statements, conduct and condition," production has ceased on the top-rated sitcom Two and a Half Men.

The 45-year old Sheen, who seems to be doing his best impression of how to spectacularly end a career in showbiz, gave a bizarre and incoherent radio interview with Alex Jones in which he tore into his executive producer Chuck Lorre and other targets such as Alcoholics Anonymous, calling it a "bootleg cult" with a 5% success rate, compared to his own "100%" success rate.

Going down the same path that some would say was already taken by Mel Gibson, Sheen's spleen seemed to carry elements of anti-semitism. "There's something this side of deplorable that a certain Chaim Levine -- yeah, that's Chuck's real name -- mistook this rock star for his own selfish exit strategy, bro. Check it, Alex: I embarrassed him in front of his children and the world by healing at a pace that his unevolved mind cannot process."

But Sheen wasn't done. "Last I checked, Chaim, I spent close to the last decade effortlessly and magically converting your tin cans into pure gold. And the gratitude I get is this charlatan chose not to do his job, which is to write," he said.

While Lorre had no comment on either Sheen's remarks or the production shutting down, the increasingly erratic Sheen would not go quietly. In what the website TMZ dubbed an "open letter," Sheen called Lorre a "contaminated little maggot" and wished the producer "nothing but pain." He also wants his fans to start a protest movement for him, which may be difficult considering that he could be down to single figures on that front. "I urge all my beautiful and loyal fans who embraced this show for almost a decade to walk with me side-by-side as we march up the steps of justice to right this unconscionable wrong," he wrote.

Because of the already existing hiatus in the schedule due to Sheen's rehab for reported drug and alcohol abuse, there were only going to be 20 episodes rather than the usual 24 in a season. This will now become 16, which is an additional headache the network could have done without. "It may be lonely up here but I sure like the view, Alex," said Sheen. At this rate, Sheen may need to get used to spending a lot more time by himself.

This is what he does when you break up with him. Remember his divorces? He told Denise Richardson that he hoped she got cancer. He held a knife to the throat of the last wife. So he is in the screaming, threatening, cursing, insane stage. A typical abuser.

The only hope he now has is an asinine reality show. And we thought "Cousin Eddie" was bad...Carlos has "jumped the shark". Completely unhireable.

Sheen says he wants a raise to return to show

By DAVID BAUDER, AP Television Writer David Bauder, Ap Television Writer – 1 hr 1 min ago

NEW YORK – Charlie Sheen says he wants a raise to come back to the CBS show "Two and a Half Men."

The troubled star appeared on dueling morning show interviews Monday to continue an attack on CBS and producers of his hit sitcom for shutting down the show because of his off-set behavior. Both ABC's "Good Morning America" and NBC's "Today" show aired lengthy segments of their interviews in their first and second half hours.

It was startling television that overshadowed morning-after Oscars coverage. Sheen boasted about his "epic" partying, said he's fueled by "violent hatred" of his bosses, said he cleaned up from drugs at home at his "Sober Valley Lodge" and said he's "tired of pretending I'm not a total, bitchin' rock star from Mars."

NBC interviewer Jeff Rossen appeared taken aback when Sheen said he wanted to be paid $3 million an episode to return to the show. He's reportedly paid $1.8 million an episode now, one of the highest-paid actors on television.

"You want a raise?" Rossen asked.

Replied Sheen: "Yeah, look what they put me through."

On ABC, Sheen said to correspondent Andrea Canning that he planned to sue his bosses.

"Wouldn't you?" he said. "I've got a whole family to support and love. People beyond me are relying on that. I'm here to collect. They're going to lose. They're going to lose in a courtroom, so I would recommend that they settle out of court."

While Sheen said in a radio interview last week that it would be impossible to do a ninth season of "Two and a Half Men" with the show's creators in charge, he said in the television interviews he's ready to work another season.

He said CBS owes him an apology, "publicly, while licking my feet."
