Charlie Sheen

I never in a million years thought I'd say this, but I think I have become Team Denise. Considering the amount of crazy she's had to deal with over the years with Charlie, I think her girls are lucky to have her because she does seem to have shielded them from the worst of it as much as anyone could. I'm sure the alimony and child support she makes off of Charlie every month helps keep her lips zipped but it must take a lot of restraint on her part not to go on every talk show to tell everyone what a nut job Charlie is. It must be soooo tempting when he's constantly trashing her or just being an idiot in general.

My question has been, if he really met her when she was one of Heidi Fleiss' girls, why did he not use that against her during their nasty divorce? Surely he would take pleasure in talking about that. Unless he is protecting the daughters which I doubt. Maybe it really isn't true?

I've actually wondered that same thing.

Really expensive confidentiality clause?

Maybe they both have certain secrets they don't want out there? If he doesn't mention her past, she'll keep her lips sealed?

We normally agree, 99% of the time. This maybe part of the one percent time where we may differ. ;)

I'm going to try to phrase this in a way that doesn't offend others. But I have stated before that Denise Richards, along with Mel Gibson's ex, with an assortment of porn stars, professional women, etc...all made choices to become involved with these men who have...."baggage" (putting it lightly). Let's say these men have tremendous issues that may have put their own safety at risk. Again, not saying the women asked for it (abuse, violence, nasty divorces)...but they had to know that relationships with these men weren't going to end well. And even have kids with them? And they got kids and $ settlements.

Denise needs to shut up (IMHO)...someone could easily ask her if/when, she decided to have kids with Charlie, he must've been a kindler, gentler, and sober, Charlie Sheen?

Who Is Chuck Lorre, the Mysterious Producer Who Enraged Charlie Sheen?

By Meaghan Murphy

Published March 02, 2011

| FoxNews.com

Jan. 2010: Chuck Lorre, executive producer/co-creator of "Two and a Half Men" and "The Big Bang Theory", participates in the CBS Comedy Showrunner Q&A. (Reuters)

Charlie Sheen has been on the warpath this week, publicly lashing out against his boss, “Two and a Half Men” producer Chuck Lorre, on the radio, Internet and almost any television news outlet that will have him.

Pundits have characterized Sheen’s rants as everything from “delusional” to “manic” -- but who is Chuck Lorre, the man who has enraged the actor enough for him to label Lorre a “charlatan” and his actions “deplorable.”

A television heavyweight, Lorre is the man behind some of television’s most successful sitcoms, including “Dharma and Greg,” “Grace Under Fire” and “The Big Bang Theory.”

But aside from his hit-making formula, Lorre has also become known for his tendency to make outlandish and bizarre statements, almost exclusively via his “vanity cards.”

All television shows have vanity cards -- usually just a brief flash of the production company’s logo. Since the premiere of “Dharma & Greg,” Lorre’s signature has been a written message where he shares his “personal beliefs” with viewers. While Lorre’s vanity cards are only readable during the broadcast if paused, he has posted an extensive archive of his musings, viewable at chucklorre.com.

During the end credits for “Two and a Half Men” on January 17, ten days before Sheen’s hospitalization for a hiatal hernia, Lorre took an apparent dig at the actor.

“Keep in mind that we employ a highly paid Hollywood professional who has years of experience with putting his life at risk. And sadly no, I'm not talking about our stunt man.”

“Chuck Lorre really fired the first shot with those vanity cards,” a successful television producer tells FOX411. “That’s really not the place for those opinions to be aired. I can understand why Charlie Sheen would be angry about that. No one wins when you air those private battles in public.”

On Valentine’s Day, Lorre added fuel to the fire with this vanity card:

“I exercise regularly. I eat moderate amounts of healthy food. I make sure to get plenty of rest. I see my doctor once a year and my dentist twice a year. I floss every night. I've had chest x–rays, cardio stress tests, EKGs and colonoscopies. I see a psychologist and have a variety of hobbies to reduce stress. I don't drink. I don't smoke. I don't do drugs. I don't have crazy, reckless sex with strangers. If Charlie Sheen outlives me, I'm gonna be really pissed.”

Even before he was taking digs at Sheen, Lorre was making disturbing statements.

A 2008 card read, “Recently the magazine Entertainment Weekly had an article entitled "The 25 Smartest People in Television." Yours truly was ranked at number twenty … Now I'm just thinking out loud here, but if something were to happen to those nineteen people... if say, they were to, one by one, have horrible accidents, or mysteriously disappear, then that would make me, ipso facto, the number one smartest person in television. Then I'd just have to keep an eye on number twenty-one. Christina Wayne, Senior VP of original programming at AMC, looks like the kind of woman who would stop at nothing to move up a spot.”

“Everyone who gets to that level in a creative position in Hollywood is going to be a little nutty,” a Hollywood insider tells FOX 411.

“In Chuck Lorre’s case, I know several people who have worked with him and they all say that he makes great shows, his productions are well-run and the production process with him is a creative and collaborative one.

“That said, Charlie Sheen’s beef with Chuck may be that highly creative people have eccentricities that some people find enduring and others find irritating -- and Charlie clearly falls in the later camp with Lorre.”

What's clear is that there’s no love lost between the two high-powered multimillionaires. "It was a fake friendship,” Sheen told ABC’s 20/20 of their relationship on Tuesday. “I never felt respected in a way that I should have been.”

Sheen continued his rant against Lorre yesterday with a newly opened Twitter account, “Just got invited to do the Nancy Grace show... I'd rather go on a long road trip with Chuck Lorre in a '75 Pacer...”

But with millions of dollars at stake, is it possible that Sheen and Lorre can figure out a way to work together and save America’s No. 1 comedy?

“I don't know if Chuck and I can ever work together again,” Sheen said during his 20/20 interview. “But maybe guys just sit in a room and just go, 'Look, we hate each other. Let's continue to make some great television.' Maybe that's possible. I don't know."

“Plenty of people who loathe each other in Hollywood put aside their differences and get to work,” the insider told FOX411. “I suspect eventually, that’s what’ll happen with ‘Two and a Half Men.’”

Well, Lorre also worked with Roseanne and Cybill Shepherd - they all hated each other, but I think the tv shows they made were pretty damn good ;-)

Last rumor I heard was that Moonves would work with Charlie and Chuck Lorre would basically be removed from the show so the two wouldn't have to work with each other.

I have to agree with you here as Denise never struck me as the type of person that was completely clueless about guys. While she may not have known the extent of the crazy, I think she knew something. I guess she had dollar sign sunglasses in her eyes. I'd be curious to know if the kids were planned or not.

Oh, you guys are both right. Who knows why Denise chose to marry Charlie or have kids with him and we all know it wasn't the best idea in general. But at this point, the kids are here, and I'm glad that Denise seems to be standing her ground and refusing to allow Charlie around them unless he's on his very best behavior. I can't say that much for that twit Brooke Mueller. I think the more money Charlie pays her, the more willing she is to allow those twins to be around him and that's just disgusting IMO.

Surprise!

Sheen bombs on opening night of 20-city stage tour

AP

By MIKE HOUSEHOLDER, Associated Press Mike Householder, Associated Press – 1 hr 11 mins ago

DETROIT – Charlie Sheen and his "goddesses" took the stage to thunderous applause Saturday night for the first leg of his "Torpedo of Truth" tour. The 70-minute show hadn't even ended when the first reviews were in, and they were brutal.

The former "Two and a Half Men" star showed that comedic success on the screen doesn't necessarily translate to the stage, and the capacity crowd at Detroit's 5,100-seat Fox Theatre rebelled before the show ended, chanting "refund!" and walking out in droves.

Linda Fugate, 47, of the Detroit suburb of Lincoln Park, left the theater and walked up the street yelling, "I want my money back!"

She said she paid $150 for two seats.

"I was hoping for something. I didn't think it would be this bad."

Sheen's publicist Larry Solters declined to comment after the show, but Sheen reappeared after the house lights went up to thank those who remained.

Fans who arrived at the theater — some who had to fly in for the show — said they were hoping to see the increasingly eccentric actor deliver some of the colorful rants that have made him an Internet star since his ugly falling out with CBS and the producers of "Two and a Half Men."

They got the ranting. It just wasn't funny.

"I expected him to at least entertain a little bit. It was just a bunch of ranting," said Rodney Gagnon, 34, of Windsor, Ontario.

On Twitter, where Sheen has amassed some 3.4 million followers, some fans were already predicting a premature end for the planned 20-city tour, which was scheduled to resume Sunday in Chicago.

"Charlie Sheen thanks for saying goodbye! Piece of advice cancel the rest of your tour," someone tweeted under the name ChrstosMo.

The show started well for the 45-year-old Sheen, with the audience standing and cheering as he and the women he calls his "goddesses" took the stage. The women, a former porn star and an actress who live with him, carried placards with the words "War" and "Lock," a reference to Sheen's recent description of himself as a warlock.

"I don't see a single empty seat," he said.

Not long into the show, though, an audience member booed, prompting Sheen to sanguinely reply, "I've already got your money, dude."

Things only got worse.

Among the low points was when Sheen screened a short film he wrote, directed and produced years ago called "RPG." He sat in the front row to watch the film, which starred a much younger Johnny Depp. Boos were heard throughout.

"Tonight's an experiment," he said.

Sheen had said rapper Snoop Dogg would perform at the show, but he didn't. Instead, the show ended with a video for a new Snoop Dogg song. By then, many fans had left.

Toronto-area resident Ronnie Prentice, 37, was one of several fans who arrived at the theater before it opened Saturday saying they hoped to see Sheen rant.

"It's kind of like a NASCAR race. You're just tuning in because you're just waiting for the accident to happen," said Prentice.

Geoff Rezek, 69, a computer consultant from Darien, Conn., flew in from New York to see what he believed was going to be "history in the making."

"I wouldn't miss the first show. Who knows if there's going to be a second show?" Rezek said, perhaps prophetically. He also bought a ticket for Sheen's show next week in Connecticut.

Sheen has made headlines in recent years as much for his drug use, failed marriages, custody disputes and run-ins with the police, as for his acting. His father, actor Martin Sheen, has compared his son's struggle with addiction to a cancer patient's struggle for survival.

In August, the wayward star pleaded guilty in Aspen, Colo., to misdemeanor third-degree assault after a Christmas Day altercation with his third wife, Brooke Mueller. The couple recently finalized their divorce.

Charlie Sheen's behavior, which included lashing out at "Two and a Half Men" producer Chuck Lorre, finally became too much for Warner Bros. Television, which fired him on March 7.

Sheen fired back with a $100 million lawsuit and all-out media assault in which he informed the world about his standing as a "rock star from Mars" and a "warlock" with "Adonis DNA."

It was not immediately clear how Saturday's poor performance would affect the rest of the tour, which is scheduled to wrap up May 3 in Seattle.

Bob Orlowski, a 46-year-old lawyer from Plymouth who has a suite at the theater, said there is "no way" the tour will make it all the way to the end. He said he brought six clients to Saturday's performance, thinking it would be an event, but instead witnessed a "train wreck."

One of his clients called Sheen's performance replaced a Milli Vanilli concert as the worst show he'd ever seen.

"Now he feels good about Milli Vanilli," Orlowski said.

Some among the crowd, though, defended the performance with the type of defiance that would have made the actor proud.

"I love my city, but I'm just disgusted with what happened tonight," said Sarah Cappuccitti, 31, a hair stylist from Westland.

"People needed to the shut the heck up."

I'm going to go ahead and say it: Anyone stupid enough to buy tickets to this "tour" is getting what they deserve. People who would pay money to watch a mentally ill person rant and who are going hoping to see a trainwreck are no better than Sheen himself, in my opinion. The whole notion disgusts me.

How is Charlie going to pay the child support now?

He's an ass, certainly - but 2 1/2 men is syndicated so his production company is getting money that the exes & kids can be paid from.

That's true. Syndication is where the real money is for TV shows. I'd like to know how much is generated from it.

eta: You know, I just realized something. If Sheen has a production company that produces the show, how could he have been fired in the first place? I'm a little confused

Because the studio hired Sheen then paid the company to produce the show. The production company may be owned by Sheen, but the studio owned Sheen.

Yeah, I actually probably didn't mean Sheen's "production" company - though maybe I did. Sometime in the last year I read an article on how many actors are paid - for legal & monetary & tax reasons, most aren't paid directly - they have a company and that company is hired for the actor's services (would really like BobbyD or another insider to step in and explain this ;-)

The acting equivalent of having a limited liability corporation or other safety net in business.

The production company behind Two and a Half Men is Chuck Lorre's - he's the Executive Producer..... (this is my understanding and hey - I have been known to be wrong ;-)

LOS ANGELES — Although the court session was closed to the media, reports are that Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller's toddler twins will stay with their mother and her family, as agreed on in a March 10 settlement.

Former "Two and a Half Men" star Sheen went before a Los Angeles judge Tuesday seeking custody of the boys. Mueller also attended, and emerged from court smiling and hugging her attorney. Although nothing official was announced to the media, TMZ.com reports that the couple's custody arrangment will not be changed.

Sheen left the courthouse flanked by security and was on his way to catch a plane to Washington, DC for a performance of his stage show, "My Violent Torpedo of Truth — Defeat is Not an Option."

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Hank Goldberg sealed the hearing at the request of Mueller's attorney, saying it was "in the best interest of the children" because of "questions of abuse and other inflammatory and emotional issues."

Sheen arrived in court wearing a black suit, glasses and an orange tie. As the public filed out of the courtroom, Sheen gave a fist bump to a reporter in the audience. One of his girlfriends, whom he describes as goddesses, accompanied him to court and sat on a bench outside the courtroom.

The actor and his estranged wife have sparred in recent months, with Mueller accusing Sheen of threatening her with a pen knife. Recent reports have claimed Mueller has re-entered rehab for addiction issues.

Sheen's attorney, Mark Gross, said in court it was unfair that Mueller's attorneys hadn't sought to seal her prior request for a restraining order, which detailed numerous alleged threats Sheen had made. The restraining order request was later dropped.

Gross agreed the hearing should be closed and Mueller's attorneys called the complaint, "a dollar short and a day late."

In Santa Monica, Sheen's attorneys are arguing his $100 million lawsuit over his firing from "Men" should be heard in the public courts system rather than through private arbitration as his former employer, Warner Bros. Television, wants.

Sheen's attorneys argue an arbitration clause in his contract is unenforceable and the case should be decided by a jury if it proceeds that far.

Warner Bros. denies Sheen's claims and in court filings stated that the actor's contract calls for disputes to be decided by binding arbitration.

Sheen filed his lawsuit March 10, days after he was fired from television's top-rated comedy. He is also suing "Men" Executive Producer Chuck Lorre, who also wants the case handled by arbitration. Warner fired Sheen after a series of bizarre behavior during interviews and after he vehemently criticized Lorre.

Sheen has said during his stage show that he would return to the show, which reportedly paid him $1.8 million an episode, but Warner has denied there have been discussions for Sheen's re-hiring.

Can somebody explain to me how he can get a custody court date 39 days or so after his first one? Here in the Charlotte area, custody hearings are usually a year out, after mediation. To go back is equally as hard, and not encouraged by attorneys.

I would think that Brooke's entry in to rehab would somehow serve as exigent circumstances to warrant a fast tracking of a new hearing.

Of course, I add my usual disclaimer that I am not an attorney nor do I play one on TV. :D

If true, I think this is a classy move by Denise and I think the twins would be better off with her than with either parent.

Denise Richards 'offers to take in Charlie Sheen's twins while he battles for custody with Brooke Mueller'

She's the caring mother of his two beautiful daughters, and now Denise Richards has offered to take informal custody of his twin boys, too.

Richards, 40, is reported to have called her former husband last Thursday after TMZ posted surveillance video of Bob and Max's mother, Brooke Mueller, 33 , trying to pawn a watch and a stereo in the seedy LA suburb of Inglewood.

The actress is said to have pointed out to Sheen, 45, that it was apparent from the footage that Mueller was in no fit state to look after the twins.

She added that because Sheen is on the road doing his show, it might be a good idea if she let the two-year-old boys live with her until things are less tumultuous.

With Mueller allegedly back on drugs and Sheen absent, Richards idea is that the boys spend more time with their sisters Sam, seven , and Lola, six.

Thus giving them an all-important sense of family and stability.

It's not something you'd expect Sheen to even consider, after all, he has threatened Richards, made bad puns about her name on Twitter - 'Duh-nise POORards,' and most inexplicably, called the mother of his two girls a 'whore.'

Good mother: Richards arrives at LAX with daughter Sam earlier this month

But astonishingly, considering the frequent verbal attacks Sheen regularly fires at Richards, the Two and a Half Men star didn't reject her offer.

He is reported to have promised to mull the idea over, and told yoga-fan Richards: 'I'll keep you posted.'

Richards could well be stepping into the breach soon as TMZ has also learned that Sheen's lawyer, Mark Gross, is going to court this morning to attempt to get full custody of the two boys.

Gross will ask the judge to take legal and physical custody away from Mueller, on the grounds that she has relapsed and gone back into rehab.

Parents: Sheen has lambasted Richards frequently but he obviously rates her as mother, seen here together for their daughter Lola's birthday in June last year

If this is successful, Sheen's legal eagle will then set about terminating Mueller's $55,000 a month child support, as she would no longer be incurring parental expenses.

Brooke's team are not going to face this offensive lying down, however.

Her lawyers are also launching a bid for full custody, it is claimed.

It's a bold move after last week's seemingly damning footage, but her lawyers feel like they have an ace up their sleeve.

They want Sheen to be psychologically evaluated.

Don't Know If He's Sober

USMagazine, Friday, April 22, 2011, 10:02am (PDT)

Not everyone thinks Charlie Sheen is winning.

Bing even more: ..Sheen's ex-wife, Denise Richards, spoke candidly about the 45-year-old father of her two daughters on a Thursday appearance of "What Happens Live."

When Andy Cohen asked the 40-year-old actress what she thought of Sheen's Torpedo of Truth tour, she replied, "I think it's very sad to see him on this path. I've heard he's chosen to use me in part of his tour, and that's hurtful, but that's his choice. I just think there's places you shouldn't go."

"We're not in the best place right now, to be honest with you," she added. "But I do still communicate with him."

Richards said she has offered to help with Sheen's 2-year-old twin boys, Bob and Max, with his estranged wife, Brooke Mueller. "I wasn't asking for custody or anything," she said. "But I've put it out there several times over the last couple years, that if they need help, I'm here. I would love the boys to stay and be with the girls."

Richards said her daughters -- Sam, 7, and Lola, 5 -- haven't met either of Sheen's "goddesses." She acknowledged, however, that the women are part of "his lifestyle" and that she's accepted it.

Richards hasn't spoken to Mueller, 33, since she reportedly checked back into rehab earlier this month. "But I will [talk to her] when she's available," she said. "I give Brooke a lot of credit that she's ... going to try and fix the issue. It makes me sad to see him [go from being] on a very wonderful, well-written hugely popular show to going down this path. ... I don't know if he's sober or not."

."

It's really getting hard not to like her.

Sheen: Kutcher's 'Men' is going to tank

Daniel Boczarski / Getty Images Contributor

Charlie Sheen has a few words to say about Ashton Kutcher joining "Men."

By Anna Chan, TV Editor

Well that didn't take long.

Ousted "Two and a Half Men" star Charlie Sheen is speaking up about CBS and Warner Bros. hiring Ashton Kutcher to replace him on the hit sitcom. He shared some kind words about the younger actor to TMZ, saying, "Kutcher is a sweetheart and a brilliant comedic performer." Then he got a bit snarky.

"Enjoy the show, America. Enjoy seeing a 2.0 in the demo every Monday, WB," he said to the gossip site. In other words, Sheen thinks "Men's" going to lose the demographic that gave the show its huge ratings.

CBS and Warner Bros. announced the addition of Kutcher to the show in a statement on Friday. The 33-year-old actor won't be taking over Sheen's Charlie Harper role, but will instead be introduced as a new character, sources told The Hollywood Reporter. Insiders also indicated that the show is heading back into production ASAP and would be back in the fall.
