Tracy Morgan Chats with TMZ

If I had to pick a favorite celebrity drunk driver, Tracey Morgan would definitely be my number one. I'd probably even let him run me over, as long as he promised to do the robot as he was backing up. TMZ recently ran into the star of "30 Rock," who jokingly told their videographer, "Stop writing bad things about me, man." After a pretty mundane encounter, in which they filmed him signing an autograph and posing for a picture with a fan, Tracey spilled that he's got a movie in the works with Ice-Cube, a comedy entitled, "First Sunday." Oh, how I wish it were with Ice-T, so that Coco could possibly make a cameo.

Tracy Morgan is Guys' guy for Spike awards

"30 Rock" star Tracy Morgan will host Spike TV's inaugural Guys Choice awards show, set to air June 13.

The awards, decided on by viewers of the male-skewing cable channel, honor "the things guys love most" in the worlds of sports, music, film, TV and the Internet.

The two-hour show also will feature tributes to veteran entertainers and rockers and include stand-up comedy and musical performances. It will tape June 9 at CBS Studio Center in Studio City, Calif.

Each category features only two nominees, so it can be settled "mano a mano," Spike says. Nominees include Beyonce vs. Adriana Lima for hottest girl on the planet, Will Ferrell vs. Sacha Baron Cohen for "funniest M.F." and "The Office's" Rainn Wilson vs. "Heroes"' Masi Oka for coolest geek. In addition, James Gandolfini and George Clooney will vie for the kingpin award for guy of the year.

Morgan plays the unpredictable movie star Tracy Jordan on NBC's "30 Rock." The actor-comedian's credits also include NBC's "Saturday Night Live," where he appeared for seven seasons, as well as the feature films "The Longest Yard," "Little Man," "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back" and "Head of State."

Radio Host: Tracy Morgan 'Groped Me'

Fla. Radio Host Tells Police That Comedian Tracy Morgan Groped Her, Says She Felt 'Violated'

The Associated Press

By SUZETTE LABOY Associated Press Writer

(AP)

A disk jockey filed a misdemeanor battery complaint against comedian Tracy Morgan, saying the NBC sitcom star inappropriately groped her at a South Florida radio station Friday morning.

Yuleika De Castro told police that Morgan smelled of alcohol as he touched her shoulders and arms, kissed the back of her head, Miramar Police Department spokesman Bill Robertson said.

De Castro said she pushed him away and he was escorted out of the studio by the people he came with, Robertson said.

De Castro, whose on-air name is Sandy Domingo, said she filed the complaint because she felt "violated" and "dirty."

"He said he wants to impregnate me," Domingo told The Associated Press.

Morgan's attorney in Miami, Mark Shapiro, told authorities that his client was not yet prepared to speak to them, Robertson said.

A telephone message left by the AP at Shapiro's office after hours Friday was not immediately returned. Shapiro also did not immediately respond to an e-mail requesting comment.

Morgan's Friday and Saturday night shows at the Improv Comedy Club in Coconut Grove were canceled, said Isis Darios, who works in the box office. Club officials wouldn't say why.

Once the police report is complete, the Broward County State Attorney's Office will determine whether to file charges, Robertson said.

Morgan, who has a history of alcohol abuse, pleaded guilty in February to a misdemeanor drunken driving charge in New York. He previously pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor impaired driving charge in Los Angeles and was sentenced to 36 months' probation, fined $390 and ordered to attend an alcohol education program.

The former "Saturday Night Live" cast member stars on the NBC sitcom "30 Rock" with Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin and Jane Krakowski.

Telephone messages left Friday night for Morgan's agents and managers were not immediately returned. The radio station's offices were closed after hours.

Morgan In Vegas Revelry

TRACY Morgan is partying hard again but what was he drinking? Due to a drunk-driving plea deal, the 30 Rock star has been wearing an ankle device since May 25 to monitor his skin for alcohol levels. Last weekend, Morgan went to a party at Rum Jungle in Las Vegas, where, his representative insisted, he was only drinking Red Bull. Our witness, however, claims Morgan started downing shots of vodka. He then swigged straight from the bottle, tore his shirt off and partied hard the rest of the night. Morgan, who was fined $1,000 and had his license suspended for six months, is not allowed to consume alcohol and if he tests positive at any time for it, he must wear the bracelet for another 90 days. A second violation will land him 30 days in jail. The February DUI arrest was not his first he was also busted in California in 2005 for driving under the influence.

Tracy Morgan Talks Drinking and Sobriety

When Tracy Morgan hosts Spike TV's "Guys Choice" awards on June 13, he'll be wearing an alcohol monitoring device around his ankle.

There's no better symbol to Morgan's current situation. The comedian and "30 Rock" co-star has recently experienced several alcohol-related troubles, but said in an interview with The Associated Press that he's trying to "keep moving forward."

In February, Morgan, 38, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor drunken driving charges in New York. He previously pleaded no contest to a DUI charge in Los Angeles. As part of his court-ordered treatment, Morgan was recently fitted with the monitoring device, which he'll wear for two months.

A few weeks ago, a Miami disc jockey filed a misdemeanor battery complaint against Morgan, alleging he groped her, claiming he smelled of alcohol at the time. Morgan declined to comment on that charge because, he said, "It's still being worked out and resolved."

Further, a video clip of Morgan appearing on a morning show of a Texas ABC affiliate was posted on YouTube titled: "Tracy Morgan Wasted on Live TV." In the video, which has been watched by over 430,000 people, Morgan takes off his shirt, slaps his tummy and jokes that the sound is a "mating call."

Morgan insisted he wasn't drunk for that television appearance and said he's disappointed that negative media coverage of him has taken on "a life of its own."

On his drunk driving, he said: "It happened. Unfortunately, it happened. I'm not perfect. I'm like anyone else. Driving under the influence isn't cool. I have kids and I don't want anyone to get the wrong message about that. It's something I've resolved in my life. Things got a little bumpy and it was taken care of. And I feel great about it and feel good in my sobriety."

Morgan, who is married with three children, said he deals with his alcohol problems "one day at a time."

"I don't know about tomorrow, but I know that today I don't want a drink," he said.

In the meantime, Morgan is shooting "First Sunday," which stars Ice Cube. The "Guys Choice" awards will be his first gig as an awards host, and he expects to follow it by hosting VH1's "Hip Hop Honors" later this year.

"I'm a guy!" exclaimed Morgan. "I want to be a guy, guy! I'm the king of the guys that night."

The show will tape on June 9 in Los Angeles and air June 13 on Spike at 10 p.m. (EDT). Each award category presents two head-to-head nominees, such as "hottest girl on a the planet," which pits Beyonce against Adriana Lima.

Morgan expects to improvise a little during the show, and even claims he's never written a joke in his life.

"You conversate," he said. "To me, Richard Pryor, it was a conversation."

Morgan, a former cast member of "Saturday Night Live," will also return to "30 Rock" for its second season this fall. NBC renewed the sitcom for the 2007-2008 season in April.

Gizmo Proves Tracy's Dry

TRACY Morgan has evidently learned how to party without the benefit of booze. The "30 Rock" star seemed to be high on more than just life last weekend at Room Service in Las Vegas when he tore his shirt off and partied all night. Myopic witnesses told us Morgan, who has two drunk-driving convictions, was swigging straight from the bottle - but it must have been a water bottle. Morgan has been wearing a SCRAM (Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitor) ankle bracelet since May 25. Morgan's lawyer, Blair Berk, put Page Six on the phone with Ron Pence, director of Vigilnet, the company that operates the satellite monitoring system, to confirm that Morgan has been abstaining ever since. Morgan's other lawyer, Gerry Lefcourt, said the actor was in Las Vegas "pursuant to a contract. Tracy goes around to schools and tells students how stupid it is to drink and drive," Lefcourt explained. "Whatever he was drinking, it wasn't alcohol."

'saturday Night' Friction

IT'S a wonder Tracy Mor gan never hauled off and slugged Jimmy Fallon on the set of "Saturday Night Live." The "30 Rock" star tells the October issue of Penthouse that his castmates were bothered during skits by Fallon's "laughing and all that dumb [bleep] he used to do - he wouldn't mess with me because I didn't [bleep]ing play that s - - t. That's taking all the attention off of everybody else and putting it on you, like, 'Oh, look at me, I'm the cute one.' I told him not to do that s - - t in my sketches, so he never did."

A Rocky Day

"30 ROCK" star Tracy Morgan is starting to act like his spoiled character. Last Thursday, "Tracy didn't know his lines, he wasn't listening to the director and was arguing with cast members on-set," a spy said. Morgan later skipped the second-season premiere party at Pastis, where castmates Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey were celebrating. An insider said that Morgan had issues that day but that "the cast and crew are being supportive." A rep for the actor said Morgan was taping a VH1 award show that night and denied any on-set problems.

Fans walk out on Tracy Morgan’s stand-up act

According to a Caroline’s employee, dissatisfaction with Tracy Morgan was spreading like staph as the week progressed. “Lots of people have been walking out early.”

MSNBC.com

By Courtney Hazlett

The Scoop

If the writer’s strike doesn’t end soon, you might want to light a candle for Tracy Morgan of “30 Rock.” All seven of Morgan’s Thanksgiving week shows at comedy club Caroline’s on Broadway sold out, but unfortunately ticket sales and positive reviews aren’t mutually exclusive. Morgan still had more than 30 minutes left in his 90-minute Nov. 24 show when audience members began walking out.

According to a Caroline’s employee, dissatisfaction with the “Saturday Night Live” alum was spreading like staph as the week progressed. “Lots of people have been walking out early. I think people expected Tracy Jordan, not Morgan,” the employee said, referring to Morgan’s “30 Rock” persona. The main difference between the two? Jordan is funny while Morgan just thinks he is.

At its best, the routine was stale and slightly amusing. At its worst, it was vulgar and awkward (think more Marilyn Manson than Larry David here). I hope Morgan did this on purpose, as if to say, “This is what I will subject the public to if the studios and writers can’t come to an agreement.” Speaking as one of the dozens and dozens of “30 Rock” fans out there, I hope that’s the case, and production on “30 Rock” resumes as quickly as possible, at least for Morgan’s sake.

Son Helped Tracy Morgan Get Sober

Comedian Tracy Morgan realized he had reached rock bottom in his battle with alcohol when his teenage son begged him to stop drinking.

The 39-year-old has long battled substance abuse and was forced to wear an alcohol-monitoring ankle bracelet last year after a number of drink-related charges including driving while intoxicated.

Morgan is now sober and happy and credits his three children with his new lease of life.

He says, "My oldest son asked me not to drink, so that was rock bottom. The best thing is the personal growth. My body feels good. I feel funnier."

Tracey Loses Fight with Liquor

Tracey Morgan’s wife Sabina has filed for divorce citing that the comedian’s alcoholism has ruined their marriage:

“I have to divorce him. I still have feelings for him, but the marriage is over. “I’m having my lawyer file the divorce papers. I gave him every opportunity since August to stay in the marriage, but he’s failed. It’s terrible that he’s drinking again. He knows he shouldn’t be doing that for so many reasons, his health especially.”

Twenty-two years of marriage gone over some booze. Hopefully Tracey can get it together.

30 Rock's Tracy Morgan Opens Up

30 Rock wild man Tracy Morgan tells TV Guide about his painful divorce, DUI ankle-bracelet woes and... playing Scrabble with First Sunday costar Ice Cube. 30 Rock airs Thursdays at 8:30 pm/ET on NBC.

TV Guide: So let's get this out of the way first: 2007 was rough for you. What was your lowest point?

Tracy Morgan: When me and my wife separated. Twenty-one years is a pretty long walk in the park with someone. So for us to come to this conclusion, it was like a death in the family.

TV Guide: Are you getting a divorce?

Morgan: Yeah, I'm going through it, man. It's very hard. But we're good friends. We stay in contact every day. She's still my business partner.

TV Guide: Were you embarrassed about being arrested for drunk driving?

Morgan: Yeah. I never wanted to be a poster boy for that type of behavior. Drinking and driving is not a cool thing.

TV Guide: You were sentenced to wear an alcohol-monitoring bracelet for six months. What was that like?

Morgan: I was like the Man in the Iron Mask! It had hair all over it from my leg when I took it off.

TV Guide: What was the most annoying thing about it?

Morgan: Sores. It's metal up against raw skin. Also, I'm diabetic. If I get a little scratch, it's hard for it to heal.

TV Guide: How liberating was it to get it off?

Morgan: Well, it felt great not to be monitored. I'm a grown man. But it also felt weird. Because I had to live without alcohol for six months. So now it's like, I can drink if I want. But do I want to? No. So I know it did good.

TV Guide: Did Lindsay Lohan or other celebrity alcohol-monitoring bracelet wearers get in touch with you?

Morgan: No. Most people don't want that information out there. So they do their time quietly. It's like going to prison. You're not going to write anybody and go, "Yo, I'm in jail!"

TV Guide: You made fun of the bracelet on an episode of 30 Rock you shot before the strike. Was that your idea?

Morgan: I learned a lot of stuff at Saturday Night Live, man. Some things are too painful to make fun of right then and there. But once the wound heals, you need to make fun of it. I learned how to do that when we did that show after 9/11. Eventually we were able to laugh again. So the bracelet came off and we made fun of it.

TV Guide: Speaking of the strike, how have you been passing the time?

Morgan: I'm just sitting around the house. I have a girlfriend now, and I've been getting on my woman's nerves. I get on my kids' nerves. That's what I do.

TV Guide: You have three kids. Do they let you be funny at home?

Morgan: What do you mean "let me"? I'm Dad! I do what I want to do! I walk around buck nekkid. My kids hate it, but I walk around the house with no drawers on. I go commando in my house!

TV Guide: Do they think you're funny?

Morgan: Hell, yeah! Especially when they look at their bank account.

TV Guide: In the new movie First Sunday, you and Ice Cube play guys who plot to rob a church. Have you ever stolen anything?

Morgan: Yeah. My friend's girlfriend back in the ninth grade!

TV Guide: Did you and Ice Cube have fun on the set?

Morgan: Yeah, but we were just working. You don't play games with Ice Cube. It wasn't like, "Hey, Ice Cube, you want to play Scrabble?"

TV Guide: You recently dissed Jimmy Fallon for giggling during SNL sketches.

Morgan: I love Jimmy Fallon. I think he's a very talented person. I didn't mean to hurt him or anything.

TV Guide: I hear that he's put out a hit on your life, though.

Morgan: Yeah, he's like 50 Cent. Jimmy — call it off. I don't want to be sent for. Don't send for me, man! I don't want to get whacked. Come on. I'm a good guy.

TV Guide: You're turning 40 in 2008. Are you prepared?

Morgan: I'm just chillin'. I'm layin' back. I'm heading into my middle age, and it feels good. I did the crazy Tracy stuff already. Now I'm mellowing out.

TV Guide: What is a more mellow Tracy Morgan like? No more taking off your shirt in public?

Morgan: No, I'm still taking off my shirt. Just in a mellow way now.

GIVE HIM CREDIT

Page Six

January 29, 2008 -- "30 ROCK" funnyman Tracy Morgan had busboys at The Plumm searching high and low for a credit card he thought he'd lost. A spy at the West 14th Street spot last week told us, "Tracy came with a group of friends and ordered two bottles of Veuve Clicquot." In no time, Morgan "ripped off his shirt and was dancing on a banquette," said the onlooker. "He thought he'd lost his credit card, and staffers were searching for it." Morgan "finally admitted to his waitress that he'd found it in his pocket - right before asking her if he could father her baby."

He's Not Joking

Posted Image

Tracy Morgan was on the banquette at Plumm in NYC, taking his top off and shaking that Hennessy gut when he suddenly realized he had lost his credit card reports Page Six. Tracy made everyone stop and look for it. He reportedly made the entire staff search high and low for his plastic. Crackhead then realized it was in his pocket the entire time.

A source said, "He thought he'd lost his credit card, and staffers were searching for it."

He told his waitress and also gave her an offer she had to refuse. A source said Tracy, "finally admitted to his waitress that he'd found it in his pocket - right before asking her if he could father her baby."

He's not joking. Tracy is not being funny. He is serious. Tracy has like 80 kids or some shit. Somebody better check on that waitress, because she's probably having morning sickness right now. Look at him! His sperm is so fucking strong that I think he got himself pregnant too.

'Scare Tactics' Returns to Sci Fi

Tracy Morgan to host; 'Tin Man' team takes on 'Alice in Wonderland'

March 19, 2008

After a nearly four-year hiatus, "Scare Tactics" is returning to the Sci Fi Channel.

The cable network has also renewed "Mind Control with Derren Brown" and greenlit several pilots (both scripted and unscripted), including an adaptation of the comic book "The Stranded," a modern-day take on "Alice in Wonderland" from the "Tin Man" team and an offbeat superhero show that actress Rosario Dawson will executive produce.

"Scare Tactics" last aired on Sci Fi in December 2004. The relaunched show will get a new host in "30 Rock" star Tracy Morgan but will retain its premise of friends and loved ones putting unsuspecting marks into elaborately staged scary situations put on by a team of actors and effects and makeup artists. Scott Hallock and Kevin Healey return as executive producers.

Sci Fi has also ordered six more episodes of "Mind Control," which features mentalist Brown for the fall and is working on two pilots: the haunted-house treasure hunt "Estate of Panic" and "Brain Trust," in which a team of geniuses seeks new solutions to common problems. NBC News anchor Lester Holt will also host a special called "Mystery of the Crystal Skulls" that looks into the real-life objects that helped inspire the latest " Indiana Jones" film.

On the scripted side, "Tin Man" director Nick Willing and producers Robert Halmi Sr. and Robert Halmi Jr. are teaming up for "Alice," a six-hour miniseries based on "Alice in Wonderland." Willing is also set to write the script.

Dawson ("Grindhouse," "Sin City") is executive producing a two-hour movie/back-door pilot called "True Believer." Written by David Atchinson and Matthew Spradlin, the show centers on a comic-book geek who hires a down-on-his-luck superhero to teach him the basics of crime-fighting.

Other projects include "The Stranded," based on the Sci Fi/Virgin Comics title about five people who discover they're actually from another world; and "Deputized," about a guy who's accidentally drafted into an intergalactic police force.

Tracy Morgan Rips Former "SNL" Castmates

By Xana O'Neill

NBCNewYork.com

Tracy Morgan trashed his former "Saturday Night Live" co-stars and had a few choice words for his fellow castmates: "F--- 'em."

In a voiceover for his new memoir "I Am the New Black," the "30 Rock" funnyman known for rattling off one-liners and non-sequiters went off-script and blasted former colleagues Cheri Oteri and Chris Kattan - saying the pair treated him like he was the "invisible man."

"They never going to host 'Saturday Night Live.' And I don't mean -- that's not even me, but that's what happened to me over there. They never treated me well. There were people that treated me beautifully, like Will Ferrell and Colin Quinn and Molly Shannon -- I love them. But Cheri Oteri and Chris Kattan -- I never cared for them either. F--- 'em."

"I could remember those two, especially those two people, treating me like the invisible guy. Now look where they at. Cheri Oteri, she can't even get arrested," he said.

The book hits the shelves Oct. 20.

In an interview for GQ's November 2009 issue, the comic said Lorne Michaels was among those at "SNL" who helped bolster his career.

"Lorne helped build my confidence up, being in front of an all-white audience and all that," he told the magazine. "And he told me when he hired for for 'Saturday Night Live': You're not here because you're black; you're here because you're funny."

Meanwhile, Morgan is a recent convert to the twitterverse, signing up for the social networking site for the first time last week after fans signed an online petition demanding 24-hour, unadulterated access to the comic.

"Welcome to Tracy Morgans [sic] World," he posted on his Twitter page on Oct. 8.

Audience members walk out of Tracy Morgan's bawdy Carnegie Hall performance

Fans expecting to see Tracy Jordan at Tracy Morgan’s Carnegie Hall performance Friday night got a rude awakening.

The bawdy comedian packed the venerable performance venue with fans expecting his “30 Rock” character’s prime-time humor. But minutes after Morgan started his routine, many walked out in disgust.

It turns out that some New Yorkers really can’t take a joke — especially when it’s unspeakably filthy.

“People seemed to not be laughing at his jokes, but more because they were shocked and appalled with what was coming out of his mouth,” reports one audience member. Morgan talked trash about homosexuality (saying it’s “a choice,” which drew gasps), drugs, pornography and what he calls “politricks” — far edgier subjects than what his alter ego, Jordan, gets air time for.

“There was a continuous flow of people getting up and leaving throughout the show,” our spy reports, adding that many in the crowd clearly didn’t know what they were getting themselves into. Middle-aged women were the most flabbergasted when he started mimicking explicit sex acts on stage.

When Morgan found something shocking, he held onto it for minutes on end.

Some of the controversial jabs he made included a set about the First Family.

“Obama is really changing the White House, because he and Michelle will have the first presidential sex tape out,” he said to a stunned crowd.

Morgan did better at his second try on politics, saying he wouldn’t vote for Mayor Bloomberg because all he does is go to Yankee games — a gag that seemed to at least draw a hoot from the crowd.

The comedian has made his name off his eyebrow-raising opinions — most recently, he recounted his sordid life story of sex, drugs and strip clubs in a tell-all, “I Am the New Black.”

Despite a reputation for outrageous behavior during TV interviews, he made a mainstream comedy comeback when Tina Fey tapped him for “30 Rock” in 2006.

No one knew better than Morgan himself that the crowd got more than they bargained for. At one point Friday night, he addressed shocked showgoers, saying, “You want the clean Tracy? Turn on the TV.”

Still, not everyone was horrified by the spectacle.

Spike Lee, John Singleton and “Rock” co-star Jane Krakowski were all in the audience— and gave a standing ovation.

Walking out on Tracy Morgan because he's filthy and non-PC is sort of like walking out on Britney Spears because she lip-synchs - how could you NOT know that, and it's sort of your own damn fault for not finding out more about the act you're buying a ticket for. For goodness sake, read some online reviews! Isn't that the most useful aspect of the internet - people-to-people sharing of information?

I totally agree.

I went to see Jill Scott at Radio City and Monique was the MC, and I wanted to vomit listening to this woman - I'd never go to see her.

Tracy Morgan Quit Booze After Chat With Son

Tracy Morgan promised himself he'd never drink alcohol again after his son shamed him with questions about his DUI arrest three years ago.

The Cop Out star had to wear an ankle bracelet that monitored his alcohol intake after he was found guilty of drink driving, and his disappointed son took time to tell his dad how he felt.

The tough chat made the 30 Rock regular determined to quit booze for good.

He recalls, "That was rock bottom... My oldest son is looking at me (and he said), 'What are you doing? What if I started drinking and driving, would that be cool?'

"That was the last time, that was it... I don't even think about it. If I go to a club or to a restaurant, I don't focus on what I don't want... I want a sosa (soda) water... I focus on what I want." The actor is back on the big screen later this month with his new movie Cop Out, which sees him team up with Bruce Willis.

Directed by Kevin Smith the movie follows a veteran NYPD cop whose rare baseball card is stolen. Since it's his only hope to pay for his daughter's upcoming wedding, he recruits his partner to track down the thief, a memorabilia-obsessed gangster.
