Cher's Back!

Posted Image

Cher has returned from the crypt! Cher retired from touring in 2005, but she will be back on stage starting May 6 at the Colosseum in Las Vegas' Caesars Palace. She will perform 4-shows a week on-and-off until October. It might extend depending on sales.

61-year-old Cher promises a visual orgasm and said they are doing things that have never been done before. She told USA Today, "Getting the whole thing in book form, in pictures, has taken months. Our set moves down from the ceiling, in from the sides, up from the floor. We have screens in the foreground, the center and the back. We can change a city into a forest in two seconds. You'll see a different stage for every song."

I'm sure it's taken just as much work to get her face ready too. Plastic surgeons were working around the clock! She looks like she's doing an impersonation of herself. Actually, she looks like she's trying to do a Jessica Simpson impersonation. She's just missing the gaping mouth and she's got it down.

Cher agrees to 3-year deal in Vegas

LAS VEGAS - She has released 25 albums that have sold more than 100 million copies and has enjoyed a career that has included concerts, recordings, Broadway, TV, film acting and directing, and books. Now she's taking her show to Vegas.

Cher announced Thursday she'll be one of the headline acts at Caesars Palace.

"I started in Vegas at Caesars, so I've come full circle," she said. "I'm back, and I plan to give my fans the best experience yet. I think everybody knows I only do things in a big way."

The Oscar, Emmy and Grammy award winner said in a statement that she will begin a three-year, 200-show engagement May 6.

"Cher's name in one word encapsulates icon, award-winning legend, and captivating performer," said Caesars Palace President Gary Selesner. "Caesars is pleased to welcome Cher back."

"Cher at The Colosseum" is scheduled to include hit songs from her career of more than 40 years, with choreography, costumes and special effects. It is a partnership with AEG Live.

Cher will alternate performances at the 4,300-seat Colosseum with other headline acts Elton John and Bette Midler.

In December, Celine Dion ended a five-year run at the theater, which opened in 2002 as home of her show, "A New Day ...".

John, who began playing at the Colosseum in 2004 when Dion's show was dark, is now booked to play his show, "The Red Piano," through 2008. Midler's "The Showgirl Must Go On" is set to open Feb. 20 for a two-year run of 100 shows per year.

Cher's 90-minute show will feature choreography from Doriana Sanchez and lighting, special effects and costumes by Bob Mackie. Engagements will run four nights a week on Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Ticket prices are from $95 to $250.

A Love That Could Have Been

Cher has confessed that she dated Tom Cruise back in the 80s for a quick minute. She told Good Morning America, “He was just the most adorable man you can possibly imagine. I don’t understand the Scientology thing because I don’t understand it. Sonny was a Scientologist, I did not understand that either.”

Tommy must have creamed his jeans when he was dating her. He finally could get the first-hand information he needed to completely perfect his Cher impersonation. Can't you just imagine Tommy in her wig and Bob Mackie gown saying, "Woooo! Schoooonny Bono!"

I had him babe: Cher reveals her secret romance with Tom Cruise

Tom Cruise has a few strings to his bow when it comes to dating Hollywood stars, but revelations of a secret romance with Cher stunned Hollywood today.

The ex-wife of Sonny Bono, now 61, confirmed rumours that she had dated the 45-year-old pint-sized star in the 80s, despite their huge age gap.

Cher told Good Morning American today that Top Gun star Cruise was not a Scientologist when they were seeing each other and described him as "just the most adorable man you can imagine".

Celebrity couplings don't get much odder than that ...

Cruise, who went on to have relationships with Nicole Kidman and Penelope Cruz, is now married to Dawson's Creek star Katie Holmes.

Meanwhile Cher, who had a number one hit with Believe in 1998, announced yesterday that she will perform at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

The mum-of-two is also due to appear as a presenter at the Grammy Awards on Sunday.

That Wig!

Posted Image

I really hope Cher stayed away from any open flames (Little Richard included) at last night's Grammys, because her shit would've gone up. What the hell is that on her head? She looks like a She-Ra character. Her name could be Plastica-Messa. It's like she brought her Castaspella doll to her wigmaker and said, "Give me this!"

That being said, Cher was the only bitch that made me laugh last night. She just needs to bury that dead cat on her head.

Cher ready for 200 Las Vegas shows

AP

LOS ANGELES - Cher said farewell, but not goodbye.

Two-and-a-half years after the final show of her three-year "Farewell" concert tour, the Oscar-, Emmy- and Grammy-award winner announced last week that she'd signed on for a three-year, 200-show engagement at Caesars Palace.

Cher told AP Television the move was no mere change of heart.

"Well, first of all, there was going to be a big time between ending the show, ending the tour, and going to Vegas," she said. "I wouldn't have to move. I wouldn't have to travel. I could just stay there. Because that's what I really can't do anymore, is I can't go on the road. It's just too much. It's just too impossibly hard. And I started there, and I thought that it might be fun."

"Cher at the Colosseum," set to debut May 6, will include 18 dancers, aerialists, and new costumes designed by Cher's longtime designer Bob Mackie. Choreography will be directed by Doriana Sanchez, a veteran of the "Believe" and "Farewell" tours. But don't expect the same old Cher show.

"They have technology that we've never seen before," she said. "It's like when you went to see 'The Phantom of the Opera' for the first time, and you saw the boat and the candelabra and all that. We can do that stuff. I'm fascinated with being able to do that."

When it was suggested she'd done little between the end of "Farewell" and now — no concerts, movies or albums — Cher laughed: "Little? How about nothing?"

But now along with the Vegas gigs, the 61-year-old is putting out an all-new studio album, her first since 2001's "Living Proof." And she said she's still considering a longtime offer to do a TV musical of "Mame."

"You don't want to stop if you can keep going," Cher said. "I never expected to be going this long. I have no idea how that happened, but it did. It's like an artist, it's like, when was it time for Picasso to stop painting? He had enough paintings, I'm sure, at a certain age. Why didn't he just stop? I guess because he really liked it, and it was some part of his life. You don't want to give up some part of your life that's that important."

Fbi Agent: Sonny Bono Was Clubbed To Death

Tragic rocker SONNY BONO was clubbed to death by hired hitmen, according to a stunning new tabloid expose.

An investigator who has been researching Bono's 1998 fatal skiing accident for the past decade claims top officials linked to an international drug and weapons ring feared the singer-turned-politician was about to expose their criminal acts - and so they had him killed on the slopes.

Cher's ex-husband Bono's death was listed as a "skiing accident" with family and friends satisfied he died after colliding with a tree on the piste in Nevada in January 1998.

But former FBI agent Ted Gunderson tells America's Globe that there's more to the tragedy than meets the eye, after studying the autopsy reports and other evidence.

He says, "It's nonsense for anyone to now try to suggest that Bono died after crashing into a tree. There's zero evidence in this autopsy report... to show such an accident happened. Instead, there's powerful proof he (Bono) was assassinated.

"This was an evil plot that was carried out to almost perfection by ruthless assassins."

Gunderson tells the Globe Bono, an experienced skiier, was ambushed on the slopes by hired hitmen, who beat him to death and then staged a tree collision.

The retired FBI agent is now calling for the authorities to dig up Bono's remains and open a homicide investigation.

Gunderson's efforts have been backed by top forensics experts, who fear Nevada authorities were too quick to mark the tragedy as a skiing accident, and investigator Bob Fletcher, who has confessed he sent evidence of a 10-year study that linked top U.S. government officials to arms and weapons dealers to Bono less than a month before his death.

Fletcher says, "He was going to make it his number one priority... There's no doubt in my mind Sony was murdered by someone who needed him silenced."

Cher: Cruise Romance Could Have Been Serious

CHER insists her brief relationship with TOM CRUISE could have gone a lot further, admitting she was "crazy" about him.

The Believe hitmaker dated the star 25 years ago, when she was 36 and at the height of her fame and Cruise was a 20-year-old up-and-coming actor.

They split in 1986 when Cruise was forced to move from Los Angeles to Chicago, Illinois after landing a role in the Martin Scorsese film The Color Of Money. He went on to marry his first wife Mimi Rogers a year later (1987), they divorced in 1990.

And Cher is convinced that despite the 16-year age gap, the couple could have become serious if their hectic work schedules hadn't driven them apart.

She tells U.S. talk show host Oprah Winfrey, "He was shy. He said he felt like such a boob in school and nobody talked to him. We went on a date once for dinner in a New York restaurant and the waitress was from his old school.

"He told me she never talked to him back in school, but now he was recognised he got all her attention.

"It could have been a great big romance because I was crazy for him."

Holy crap!!!! I hadn't heard anything about this nor did I see it anywhere else online. Is this guy for real? I remember when the accident happened, how sad it was because Sonny seemed like an okay guy. I don't understand though why nothing has been out there before now

Yeah, well, Cher was engaged to David Geffen back in the day, so obviously she has a deep and abiding love for little closeted gay fellows.

Chaz Bono: 'Sex change was best decision'

Chaz Bono has no regrets about undergoing a sex change, insisting it's "the best decision I've ever made."

The 40-year-old writer, born Chastity to Cher and late singer/actor Sonny Bono, began the years-long transformation to become a man in March.

And Chaz, who came out as a lesbian in 1998, is already sure undergoing gender-reassignment surgery and hormone therapy was the right choice.

He tells ABC: "I've felt male as far back as I can remember. ... Life is short and life is precious. This is who I am. I need to finally be who I am."

I can relate -- I know that candidates for sex reassignment undergo counseling -- what happens to fhe family member who woke with a daughter, sister, aunt on one day then a son, brother or uncle the next?

Ballsy decision --

Cher Auctions Off Hawaii Home

Cher has put the six-bedroom Hawaii home she designed herself up for auction.

The property, which boasts views over the Pacific Ocean, is set to be sold off on January 18 by Concierge Auctions.

The firm estimates the three-quarter-acre, 8,821sq ft property with views of the Hualalai Golf Course will sell for between $8 million and $12 million.

It features a main residence and five free-standing chalets, four of which have bedroom suites.

The fifth is a media bungalow with a bar.

The main residence was designed by the chart star herself and 'balances modern sophistication with traditional Balinese style,' according to the company. It was completed in December 2009.

'Displaying a contemporary Balinese style, the seamless architecture and interior design, cool colour palette and natural surfaces exude a sense of serenity,' said Laura Brady, of Concierge Auctions.

'The property is an elegant take on island living and a true reflection of Cher's refined personality and taste.'

Cher's Beauty Boost

The 63-year-old star is spending the huge amount on facials and specialist treatments including LED light therapy and oxygen infusion techniques, to maintain her youthful appearance on the set of her new movie 'Burlesque'.

A source told the National Enquirer magazine: "Cher also has a spiritual adviser, homeopath and naturopath on standby to keep her mentally and physically centred.

"She calls them her 'wellness crew' - and they set her back another $20,000 over the course of a movie shoot."

Explaining some of the treatments, Marilyn Martinis, a clinical aesthetician at the Beverly Hills Institute of Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery, said the LED light therapy would give the star's skin a more youthful, tones look.

She said: "The LED treatments use a pulse light to treat dark pigmentation and improve the appearance of small blood vessels in the skin.

"The micro-current treatments stimulate facial muscles and temporarily tighten the face by using a galvanizing current."

Cher has previously described herself as the "poster girl" of cosmetic surgery.

Christina Aguilera ‘Jealous of Cher’

THE claws are out between Christina Aguilera and Cher on the set of their new movie Burlesque!

According to reports, the pop superstars are at each other’s throats because Aguilera feels like she’s being upstaged by the 63-year-old music legend.

“Christina’s jealousy is ripping the production apart,” a source told American tabloid the National Enquirer. “The movie contains many musical numbers and while Christina has been great, Cher’s come in and knocked them all out of the ballpark.

“Cher’s also become instant pals with her dancers, while Christina barely utters a word to them and has been behaving like a total diva. Everyone on the set loves Cher — but most of them think Christina is a stuck-up upstart.

“There’s no love lost between Christina and Cher — they barely talk off camera. Christina’s clearly jealous of Cher, but they’re both very smart women and know they need to keep the feud behind the scenes.”

All That Chaz: Bono's Name Change Is Official

Today 12:03 PM PDT by Gina Serpe

eonline.com

What's in a name? Plenty. Just ask Chastity Chaz Bono.

Roughly a year after beginning the process of gender reassignment, Cher's oldest child with Sonny Bono has made a move to change his name to more accurately reflect who he is becoming—or, in his words, who he's always been.

"Chaz Bono has filed a formal petition in California Superior Court to legally change his name and gender," the Transgender Law Center's Kristina Wertz told E! News. "He is legally changing his name from Chastity to Chaz as part of his gender transition."

The 40-year-old Bono has been open about his ongoing process, telling Good Morning America last fall that, "gender is between your ears, not between your legs. I've felt male as far back as I can remember. As a child it was really clear. I felt like a boy."

Fingers crossed, he'll soon be named like one. A hearing on the request is set for May 6.

If I could turn back time: Cher reveals heartbreak over 'terrible husband' Sonny Bono

By Daily Mail Reporter

Last updated at 9:43 PM on 2nd November 2010

It has been over 12 years since his death but singer Cher has finally opened her heart about her troubled marriage to Sonny Bono and claimed that he was a ‘terrible husband’ who took advantage of her.

The Believe singer, in a recent interview with Vanity Fair magazine, said Sonny kept her in a tight grip and treated her ‘more like a golden goose than a wife’ during their 11-year union.

Cher, 64, also told how she is coping with her eldest daughter’s sex change operation and revealed the secret to her enduring success - she never gives up.

Believe in love: Cher, pictured here April 22at a TCM Gala in Hollywood, revealed in a recent interview that Sonny Bono was a 'terrible husband'

But even though their relationship left her hurt ‘in so many ways’, she has now forgiven him and said she would have stayed by his side if he had managed their business affairs better.

Speaking to Vanity Fair, she said that Sonny once told her: ‘One day you are going to leave me. You are going to go on and do great things.’

‘I wouldn’t have left him if he hadn’t had such a tight grip—such a tight grip,’ she said.

Sonny treated her ‘more like a golden goose than like his wife…. I forgive him, I think. He hurt me in so many ways, but there was something. He was so much more than a husband - a terrible husband, but a great mentor, a great teacher.’

Cher, born Cherilyn Sarkisian, met Sonny, then going by his real name of Salvatore Bono, at a cafe in Los Angles in 1962 when she was 16 and he was 27.

She wanted to be an actress but she changed her mind and found fame soon after as a singer with hits like ‘I got you babe’.

By the early 70s, however, their career floundered and in 1974 the couple divorced.

Happy union: The couple were married for 11 years before divorcing in 1974

Since then Cher has made irregular but successful forays into the charts, aided in part by the fortune she has spent over the years on plastic surgery and beauty treatments.

She has also starred in a number of TV series and films including Mermaids in 1990.

On her ability to stay in the spotlight, Cher said: ‘I feel like a bumper car. If I hit a wall, I’m backing up and going in another direction. And I’ve hit plenty of f****** walls in my career. But I’m not stopping. I think maybe that’s my best quality: I just don’t stop.’

She added that she looks at Meryl Streep as an example of somebody who ages gracefully.

‘The stupid bitch is doing it better than all of us!’ she joked. ‘But I don’t like it. It’s getting in my way. I have a job to do, and it’s making my job harder.

‘I’ve been screaming at the top of my lungs at my family, ‘Work out! Work out! Old age is coming!’ At some point you will need the strength. Who would have ever thought you would get this old?’

Family values: Cher's daughter Chastity had a sex-change operation and is now known as Chaz

Over the last year her oldest daughter Chastity Sun Bono, 41, has has undergone a sex change and changed her name to Chaz.

Cher has admitted in the past that she found the decision hard to understand, but added she is now doing her best to come to terms with it.

‘If I woke up tomorrow in a guy’s body, I would just kick and scream and cry and f****** rob a bank, because I cannot see myself as anything but who I am—a girl,’ she said.

‘I would not take it as well as Chaz has. I couldn’t imagine it.

‘She’s a very smart girl—boy! This is where I get into trouble. My pronouns are f*****. I still don’t remember to call her ‘him.’'
