J.K. Rowling and the producers of her Harry Potter play revealed some of the show's highly coveted details in a Daily Mail interview — chiefly, the premise of the play.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Parts I & II, to debut on July 30 at London's West End Palace Theatre, will be the continuation of the final book's epilogue. "It's safe to say that The Cursed Child picks up from where The Deathly Hallows ended," Sonia Friedman, one of the play's producers, told the Daily Mail on Thursday.

Just back from London. This play was awesome!! The actors did a great job, the set and design was unbelievable. And the storyline was totally in keeping with the books. Highly recommend it if you get the chance!

I won't spoil the story at all, but just to give you an idea of how good this was, in one of the scenes they have one of the characters drink polyjuice. Right there before our eyes, I'll be damned if the character didn't turn into another character!! Moments later, two other characters take polyjuice and everyone in the audience all lean forward to try and see if we can figure out where the trap doors are and how the heck they are swapping out characters right before our eyes. We get to see people use the floo network. And we get to see characters get sucked into the telephone booth. Just crazy, often we had no idea how they did the tricks they did on stage!!

REgistration to be given a chance to buy tickets starts Oct 1. Ticket sales start Oct 12. I asked my husband last night if he was interested (Harry Potter was on tv all weekend and we had been watching some...) He gave me a "look" and said nooooo. I gave him a LOOK and he said "oops, guess I picked the wrong answer".

Problem is - we just had our every-3-years trip to NYC this summer. But I still want to try to get tickets!!!!

Bummer. I actually totally forgot! But Im kind of ODing on shows in the next few weeks so I probably should save my money for a while. I leave tomorrow to go up and see Kinky Boots (I saw it before but after the original cast left, they are back for a very limited run) then next week again for Hamilton. Then just after that daughter and I are going to see the Mean Girls preview here in DC. Plus a comedy show and a concert, all in like three weeks. I think Im Christmas and birthday IOU for a couple of years.

ETA I usually see a show every two years or so.

We did a few years of season tickets for the Broadway touring shows at the local (ish - 30 miles from home, in the town where I work) performing arts center, but this year there weren't many I wanted to see so I just did individual shows. With Hamilton touring next year, I imagine I'll need to get season Tix again to get seats...

Yeah, I’m pretty sure that unless you have season tix at the Kennedy Center you aren’t seeing Hamilton, so it was easier and cheaper (plus it makes me a cooler mom) to just take her to NYC.

Our theater ran out of season tickets this year (the package that included Hamilton) so I thought I wasn't going to get to see it, but we were still able to get seats for a couple hundred each, which is expensive but not outrageous. I have friends in Los Angeles who said the only tickets left were the $600 seats. Although, I think initially there were less seats available when I first looked. The seats we got weren't there when I looked before they came to our city. I don't know where the new seats came from.

Our season tickets (Balcony) were ~300 each? Not bad at all - that is 6 or 7 shows! I did Sunday matinees ( because husband came with me) so we'd go down and have lunch across the street (with a couple craft beers...) and then go to the show. We really enjoyed - even if Broadway musicals are much more my thing than his)

No clue how much season tix will be for next year with Hamilton, but I'm prepared. Either way will be cheaper than going to New York. But definitely not as cool ;-) I'm hoping there are other shows I want to see that season!

We opted to go see Hamilton in Chicago last year so I still haven't seen it. Ugh!! And we have a vacation with the in-laws planned in December so I don't think a late fall trip to NYC will work out this year. Hope it keeps playing a little longer! A trip to London - even better ;-)
