Royal Wedding

Why the disconnect I wonder? I mean why not name the royal kidlet something he can go by?

I think they have too many godparents & grandparents to honor so they end up giving the kids lots of choices/names. It's a little pretentious, but hey, it's royalty - I think it goes with the territory ;-) To me it's not a disconnect -it's not like they're calling the kids Britney or Jordan or something at home - they're still using nicknames from the official names.....

Prince William and Kate Release Official Family Photos

By Simon Perry

people.com

It's Prince George – and the pups.

On Monday, Prince William and wife Kate released two informal family photos at the place their month-old son spent the first weeks of his life – the Middleton family home in Bucklebury.

The pictures were taken by Kate's father, Michael, in the sunny garden of the Middleton family home in early August.

And the royal couple – dressed casually, while the Prince of Cambridge snoozed in the same blanket he was originally introduced in – didn't forget the fourth member of their household. Lupo, the cocker spaniel William and Kate adopted in early 2012, is featured in one of the shots, along with the Middleton's retriever, Tilly.

Keep up with Prince William in the pages of PEOPLE Magazine by subscribing now.

A Palace source tells PEOPLE William and Kate thought having a family member take the photos was the "best way to capture the couple in a relaxed manner."

More formal images of the Cambridges and other members of the royal and Middleton families will come at the christening, which is expected in the fall.

It's a girl ;-) I like the names Alice & Charlotte (on the other hand, I might have been the only one who also wanted Octavia for Andrew & Fergie's daughter ;-) I do NOT like Diana and hope they don't call the new baby that.....

I actually think it's too much pressure on the kid to name her Diana. I DO think that will be one of her middle names. I like both Alice and Charlotte. I wouldn't like Alice for my own kid, but for a princess with a brother named George, it works.

ETA and WOW, Kate had some serious baby eyebrows in that Telegraph article picture. Maybe it's just because I had really fair kids with invisible baby brows, but those were big.

What are baby eyebrows? Do you mean the baby has prominent eyebrows or Kate does because she hasn't dyed or waxed lately? (no kids = no clue ;-)

I mean that little baby Kate had seriously dark eyebrows. Again, I come from the "so pale you're almost clear" color spectrum, so maybe I'm just not used to that on a baby!

I wonder what they'll call her? I like the name. I really didn't think they'd go with a Diana though....Seems a very dated name to me, where Charlotte and Elizabeth are much more timeless...

Love they gave a nod to Diana, but made it a middle name instead of her first name. I'm also a huge fan of Elizabeth, keeping with legacy name. I'm looking forward to watching Prince George and Princess Charlotte grow up! :jumping1:

Did anyone else catch the wave Prince George gave on his way to meet his sister? OMG, too cute.

Yes, the GEorge Wave was adorable! And I noticed that Will's hairline is receding a little bit more up on top...I don't hold it against him (she says, while married to a bald man - well, he shaves his head, but as he says - each year, there's less to shave ;-)

Wow. The Swedish royal wedding was... um... something else. To a reality star topless model with a tattoo, no less!
