Cucumber!! Hate the outfit though.

I liked Maggie Q ;-)

I read through all of Lainey's commentary on the dresses on her blog yesterday, and for the most part I agree. For her, she grades more harshly when it's boring, or something you would wear on a "regular" award show red carpet. That's not enough for the Super Bowl of the Fashion World. So I liked SJP's Treacy headpiece. (not crazy about the dress though). And I thought Kate Hudson's was a little bland.

I haven't liked Anna's dresses the past few years. Matter of fact, I can't think of a Chanel gown I've liked in a while (I love many of the more casual pieces though)

Maya Thurman - Hawke is gorgeous in Zac Posen at CFDA awards.

And I am old old old. Because he will always be Troy Dyer secretly pining for Lelaina and able to define "irony"....

The 7-night Cunard voyage out of the U.K. will end its trip in Manhattan to kick off New York Fashion Week—and Iris Apfel will be there the whole time to celebrate.

Setting sail out of Southampton, United Kingdom on August 31, the seven-night voyage (from $1,599 per person) will feature runway shows, dinners, and exclusive unveilings before docking in Manhattan to kick off New York Fashion Week, which starts on September 7. The 95-year-old Apfel, known for her bold round glasses, brightly-colored fabrics, and chunky jewelry, will be hosting a Q & A session where you can ask your burning style questions. She will also introduce a showing of Iris, a documentary that provides a glimpse into her jet-setting life and how, even at her age, the free spirit is still featured in campaigns for brands like Macy’s, MAC, Kate Spade, and Swarovski.

I thought this was romantic (sue me ;-)

Anna Wintour's daughter (Bee Shaffer) and recently deceased former Vogue Italia editor Franca Sozzoni's son are engaged:

(I didn't know they were even dating until I read Anna's editor's letter in the March Vogue where she eulogized her friend Franca and talked about how they met during her last year of life and would talk about their children's love affair....Oh to be a fly on the wall!!)

Anna's son had a very lovely wedding a few years back. I'm sure Bee's will be likewise lovely....

http://pagesix.com/2017/05/23/salma-hayek-wears-4300-pajamas-to-cannes-luncheon/

Yet another datum point in the "money/access doesn't buy style" column.....Her husband runs Kering, which owns Gucci and a bunch of other design companies, so she can wear whatever she wants. She's gorgeous, she has a beautiful body. But she has no freaking style.

As they say, she can wear a paper bag...

I think I'd prefer a paper bag to some of the other things she's worn! (she, like many, looks much better when she's casual and not trying so hard.....)

Si Newhouse died. Jonathan Newhouse said to be much happier with Enninful (British Vogue editor) and wanting to bring in the next gen, so I could totally see it. There have been a TON of magazine editorial shakeups the past couple years.

Rumor that Wintour could head British Fashion Council....

TMZ

Celebs started trickling into the Metropolitan Museum of Art Monday evening in NYC for this year's Gala -- hosted by Anna Wintour with a "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination." Yeah, we didn't know what to expect either ... until Rihanna showed up rocking the traditional Papal headgear....

LOVED the gala this year. Last year was not good imo, and too many people ignored or botched the theme.

This year was awesome! I even watched the red carpet, which I never do.

I feel like the people on E! were snickering at Katy Perry's wings. Seemed a little try-hard to me .... writes the slob in her cropped sweatpants and t-shirt :D

I feel like Katy Perry is that ten year old boy that just shouts out poop fart boob to get attention. I watched about five minutes of her on American Idol and had to turn it off. She is so inappropriately over sexualized. If the males judges talked to the young women the way she did to the men, people would be all over her as creepy.

I always remember an interview she gave in her home town. It was in a crowd of people. She was talking about the high school guy that either dumped her or wouldnt ask her out or somehow rejected her. He was there and she basically said who is sorry now and he basically said not me. My girlfriend/wife is totally hot

But as for fashion, I agree it was a good year. I tend to be more conservative. I loved Blake Lively and Kate Upton. But Frances McDormand totally stole the show. She had so much fun with that.
