People Magazine writer blast celebs, staff in scathing resignation letter
annabeast replied to nickfan's topic in General Chatter
Am I the only one that didn't think it was that funny or informing? And she's a WRITER? Actually, I should know better. MANY moons ago I worked as a peon at New York Magazine, and I will tell you: the editing staff had their hands full with their top "writers", including serious issues with fact-checking. -
Does anyone read historicals?
annabeast replied to madamecleo's topic in Comic Books & Literature Chatter
The trilogy by Sandra Gulland, about Josephine Bonaparte, is awesome. I couldn't put them down. -
I've become obsessed with the French Revolution. I recommend Dancing on the Precipice, which chronicles the life of a member of the nobility. And the Josephine Bonaparte trilogy by Sandra Gulland. Soooo good.

Is this show still open?

We saw Rick from Pawn Stars in San Diego on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, by the pool at the Marriott downtown.

The stories that real people/civilians talk about on this board sometimes make me feel really bad about my celeb gossip snark. But I have to tell myself there are differences between Lohan and Annabeast. I do know that chemical dependency (drugs, alcohol, whatever) is a disease. I support treatment for it, and hope that those afflicted can get help and have happy, productive futures. But I don't think that the people who make money off addicts in Hollywood allow them to do so (whether that's the actor/singer, the momager, the director, the agent, whomever.....) Then I feel bad that my gossip addiction just feeds the monster. Damn. Nah, the monsters feed themselves. Just remember, the only person who can save Lindsay is Lindsay. And while she is certainly a very sick individual, she is also manipulative. She is responsible for her actions, and her lies affect other people. Like, making up a medical condition to explain her absence in what is likely a contractual obligation to SHOW UP, so that she doesn't get sued for breach. And honestly, I've seen some crazy stuff among my fellow Friends of Bill, but none of them would enable this crap she is pulling. She doesn't have a real sponsor, because a real sponsor would tell her (wait for it) to give the money back for the two weeks she missed. Like that is ever going to happen.

As a person in recovery myself, I can tell you this has all the hallmarks of diverting attention from a major bender. I once told my employer I had toxic shock syndrome to explain away one of mine. She's a lying sack of sh*t.

I hate to say this, but... I was surprised to hear he is only 46. He looks MUCH older.

I was reading through this and it was taking some time, and I was getting nervous about lingering on a gossip website at work. So I sent it to the printer. WHOOPS! About five minutes of nervous lingering by the COPY MACHINE as it printed out 121 pages!

No, never. Attractive when she's healthy, but no great beauty at all.
-
I agree. I hope it works out for her.

Ummm are you confusing BB with MC Hammer? :4biggrin: Uuuhh.. Guess you can tell I was drinking wine that nite Correct celeb sighting, wrong song reference. Well I for one would not be able to come up with a Bobby Brown song reference anyway, so "can't touch this" works for me.

Nice name, I like it.

I was looking to buy a new barbecue for my husband for our anniversary and my first stop was (almost) Sears. I was greeted at the entrance by a huge picture of these horrible people. I took the time to email Sears and let them know I won't be shopping there anymore, which is huge since we normally buy our major appliances there.
