Sex & The City - The Sequel

Parker cautions that ‘Sex’ sequel isn't set yet

Show's star responds to Cattrall, saying ‘all the deals are not yet done’

Access Hollywood

LONDON - While Kim Cattrall recently seemed to hint the “Sex and The City” sequel was a done deal, series star and co-producer, Sarah Jessica Parker said things aren’t quite at that stage.

In a statement released to Access Hollywood, Parker cautioned fans to refrain from getting too excited -- at least not yet.

“I’m thrilled to know Kim is excited but all the deals are not yet done. With ‘the wind on our heels,’ we hope to make it a reality,” Parker said in her statement to Access.

Earlier in the day, “SATC” fans were sent into a frenzy when quotes from Cattrall’s interview on the UK’s “The Paul O’Grady Show” were published, indicating Carrie Bradshaw and the gang were locked in for a sequel to the summer blockbuster.

“We will do the sequel next summer,” Cattrall said on the show, according to the BBC.

In her interview, Kim noted that it had been “difficult getting everybody who’s so incredibly busy all together at the same time.”

The actress also dismissed rumors of a reported feud on the set amongst the cast.

loved those women,” Cattrall added. “We wanted to the first time, and now we’re hopefully doing it again for the second time.”

“Sex and The City: The Movie” grossed over $408 million worldwide at the box office during its Summer 2008 run.

Sex and the City Movie Gets Green Light

February 5, 2009

There's more Sex to be had!

Fans of Sex and the City will get another fix of their favorite foursome, confirms a rep for New Line Cinema.

Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon have inked deals to appear in a sequel to last year's hit chick flick, which has grossed over $400 million worldwide.

Michael Patrick King will be back as the writer and director and said that he's "very excited to work with these amazing actresses again."

No word on whether or not Jennifer Hudson will be involved in the film, but her character — Carrie's assistant Louise — left New York to marry her sweetheart in St. Louis, so it doesn't look very likely. However, expect Chris Noth (Mr. Big), Evan Handler (Harry), new dad David Eigenberg (Steve) and possibly Jason Lewis (Samantha's on-again/off-again boy toy Smith).

The movie is expected to hit theaters in summer 2010.

Sex and the City Sequel Out Next Summer

Thursday April 2, 2009

The Sex and the City sequel officially has a release date: May 28, 2010, Usmagazine.com has confirmed.

The second installment debuts around the same timeframe as the first flick, which hit theaters May 30, 2008 and earned $412 million worldwide.

Us Weekly broke the news that Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis would reprise their roles.

So what happens this time around?

Chris Noth hinted to Us last week that producers are "probably thinking" about babies for Big and Carrie, who wed at the end of the first movie.

Nixon told Us she has a few ideas for her character, feisty lawyer Miranda Hobbes.

"I would love to see her and Carrie and Charlotte and Samantha all go off on some wild madcap adventure somewhere," she said.

Parker, however, wouldn't dish.

"In a million years I'm not going to give you an indication," she said jokingly. "I want someone to show up that first weekend."

This is the just-released poster for Sex and the City 2, which will be out next year. Michael K at D Listed was all over this earlier today, saying that “the Photoshop wizards got a little “carried away” and turned her into some kind of pre-op zombie Matthew McConaughey who is a proud graduate of Kanye West’s School of Ridiculous Eyewear.” Granted, this sh-t is Photoshopped. And yes, it’s ugly. But if it was really Photoshopped into oblivion, wouldn’t they have done something better with her neck and knees? I feel like the Photoshop people just decided to put all of Sarah Jessica Parker’s “problem areas” in shadow, as if the eye could be confused so easily. It can’t. Oh, and here’s a wild question… where the f-ck are Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristen Davis? If the film is just about Carrie and her crap, no one will give a sh-t.

In other SJP news, when she was in London for the Did You Hear About The Morgans? premiere, the Telegraph asked her about her workouts. Her answer was cryptic:

When asked at the premiere of Did You Hear About The Morgans? in Leicester Square, a film about a couple who join the witness protection programme, she answers: “By running around, stressed, no sleep. I guess I try to be disciplined.”

No doubt she and Matthew Broderick, her husband, are kept busy by their twin daughters, Marion and Tabitha, who were born using a surrogate in June this year, along with their son James, seven.

Her co-star Hugh Grant is also impressed by her energy. “I’ll never be like her,” he laments.

[From The Telegraph]

Eh. I think SJP is just one of those women who is naturally skinny. Maybe it has to do with stress or running around or her metabolism, but I don’t think she’s the kind of woman who compulsively diets or works out. Just my take.

Just one more thing… SJP has a not-so-secret admirer. His name is Hugh Grant, and he is enamored with his Morgans costar. He told the British papers that he wished he could marry SJP because: “She would be a very good wife. She’s very caring. She lives in her own little world and I have literally fallen in love with her.” Aw… that’s sweet. Never in a million years would I have put the two of them together in a film or in life, but apparently they adored each other, and it seems very genuine.

Sex in Las Vegas: Where Was Kim Cattrall?

Today 2:00 PM PDT by Marc Malkin

Eonline.com

Just because Kim Cattrall wasn't in Las Vegas last night with Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon does not mean she is persona non grata.

The gals jetted to Sin City for movie industry convention ShoWest, where the upcoming Sex and the City movie sequel was honored with this year's Ensemble Award.

So why was Cattrall a no-show?

She's busy in London starring in a West End production of Noel Coward's play Private Lives.

"We don't like her, so she's gone," Parker joked (yes, joked!) with me backstage. "We've actually been emailing with her for the last three or four hours. The next time you see us, we will be complete."

Nixon added, "We miss her."

Davis also piped in to set the record straight about one of the more recent tabloid tales of SATC catfighting. "I want to clear this up," she said, "I promise I have never made Kim eat alone in a restaurant!"

Of course, the gals were tightlipped about the sequel's storylines, but did share about the sometimes not-so-glamorous filming that took place in North Africa. "We happened to be staying at a hotel that had no electricity and no indoor plumbing," Davis said. "We always had to run out to trailers to go to the bathroom."

Parker added, "We were drinking so much mint tea, but it was a real dilemma: Do you hydrate or do you pee less?"

Perhaps they'll have better accommodations if they make another SATC flick. While no decision has been made about a third, Nixon cracked, "We're going to do Sex in Space."

Matthew Broderick's Early Verdict on Sex and the City 2

By Carlos Greer

Friday April 09, 2010 12:30 PM EDT

people.com

While the cast of Sex and the City 2 may be contractually bound by the studio to keep their lips sealed about the upcoming May 28 release, Matthew Broderick is forbidden to reveal any spoilers by an even higher power: the movie's star and producer, his wife Sarah Jessica Parker.

"I've actually seen the movie, and it's wonderful," Broderick told PEOPLE at Thursday's Broadway premiere of the new musical The Addams Family, starring his pal and The Producers costar, Nathan Lane. "But if I were to say anything about it, I think a shot would ring out and I would collapse right here on the red carpet."

According to Broderick, Parker "is tightlipped about it, and [i have] the contract of marriage. I can't tell you anything about that movie, except it's excellent."

Given all the hubbub the new flick is expected to generate, Broderick, 48, is looking forward to spending some quality time with his family away from the sexy city.

"We're going to have a big summer off ... the whole family," he says. "We'll either be in Amagansett [in the Hamptons] or we'll rent a house somewhere. I think we're going to have a nice family summer."

Having welcomed twin girls last summer, Broderick says that son James Wilkie, 7, gets more excited as his siblings grow bigger.

"He's very cute with them, and now that they're more active, it's more fun for him. They pull his hair. He lies on the rug, and they climb on him. He likes that."

So, when it comes to the Broderick brood, "Everybody's all right. They're all growing, eating and growing … yeah, everybody's good," says the proud pop.

Is SJP so desperate for money that she needs to do another sequel (that no one else wants...) and therefore isn't willing to support her "friend's" gubernatorial campaign??

https://pagesix.com/2018/03/28/why-sjp-could-be-undecided-about-cynthia-nixons-run-for-governor/

I'd like to think she's better than that -- I mean, she's got a shoe collection, Divorce on HBO is actually a great show, she has a book imprint....I'm sure she gets residuals from SATC....does she really need to make a movie no one else is interested in? Pretty disappointing if she's this petty in real life.

Yeah, that was my thought! She's doing well, so why??

Alternately, why push this narrative? Kim Cattrall has friends at Page Six? ;-)

Miranda’s Son Was Going to Sext Samantha in Sex and the City 3

Kim Cattrall’s unwillingness to be further involved with the Sex and the City franchise seems more and more reasonable as details emerge about the third film’s script. Not only the was movie reportedly going to center around Big’s death and Carrie dealing with the loss of her husband, but Samantha was going to be subjected to an incredibly … unusual plot line.

According to E! News, Miranda’s son Brady (baby Brady!) would get caught masturbating early on in the film, and then later, the 14-year-old child was going to send Samantha dick pics.

“Kim never wanted to really do the movie to begin with,” an unnamed source told E! about the third installment. “It was a combination of not-great money and a bad storyline for Samantha. It was a bad script.”

Cattrall and her former co-star Sarah Jessica Parker have been rumored to be feuding since 2004, and in 2016, the cast of Sex and the City participated in an extremely public discussion about the cancellation of the third movie.

“We had this beautiful, funny, heartbreaking, joyful, very relatable script and story,” Parker said at the time, when she announced the movie wasn’t happening. On Instagram, Kristin Davis called the script from Michael Patrick Smith “beautifully written” and expressed frustration about the news. Did Parker and Davis read the part about Brady sexting??

At the time, Cattrall reaffirmed that she had no interest in being involved. “This isn’t about more money, this is not about more scenes, it’s not about any of those things,” said Cattrall. “This is about a clear decision, an empowered decision in my life to end one chapter and start another. I’m 61. It’s now.”
