’N Sync Reunion Due in 2004

Timberlake: 'N Sync Reunion Due in 2004STEPHEN M. SILVERMANpeople.comJust because Justin Timberlake 's solo career continues to generate heat doesn't mean that 'N Sync is a thing of the past, the 22-year-old "Cry Me a River" star assures Launch.com.True, the members of the boy band have spent the past 18 months doing their own thing, including Joey Fatone's turn on Broadway in "Rent" and his contribution to the soundtrack for the William H. Macy movie "The Cooler" (due Nov. 11).But Timberlake insists that 'N Sync will regroup and record a new album next year -- just as soon as JC Chasez releases his own solo album."I think we were anticipating JC's solo record coming out a little bit earlier," Timberlake, 22, tells Launch. "But I think he's planning on releasing it some time around March. You know, I've heard a couple of tracks, and I think they're great records, so I want him to have every opportunity that I had to kind of do his own thing and explore those possibilities."Meanwhile, Timberlake concluded his Lovin' It Live theater tour Sunday in his hometown of Memphis, Tenn., and he will kick off his European tour in Belgium on Nov. 16.He also is contemplating playing Elton John in a proposed biopic being written by the English rocker and his longtime writing partner Bernie Taupin."Justin did such a great job in the video of 'This Train Don't Stop There Anymore,'" John, 56, is quoted as saying on the Teen Hollywood Web site. "It actually was so close to me, it gave me the chills when I watched it."A spokesman for Justin is quoted as saying, "He is really excited about it and will seriously consider taking the role."

histar.comThanks to all of you who've said an extra prayer or two over the past several years, asking God to bring N'Sync back together for at least one more performance. All five members will take the stage together to sing the national anthem at their annual charity basketball game, Challenge for the Children...which goes down July 23rd through the 25th...And, since they'll be together for pretty much the whole weekend they will talk about any possible future as N'SYNC!

It was just last month that the five members of 'N Sync ? Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Chris Kirkpatrick and Joey Fatone ? sang the national anthem at a charity event in Miami. There was even talk that the guys would gather in the studio soon to begin work on their long-awaited new album, PEOPLE reports in its latest issue.

That was then. "The meeting in Miami was to set a target date (to start recording)," says a source close to the group, "and then (Justin) drops the bomb on them."

The bomb: According to the insider, Timberlake told his bandmates that he wasn't interested in being a part of the next 'N Sync album.

"Justin said he's not in the mood and doesn't think it will work," says the source. "He doesn't want any part of it."

Meanwhile, according to one source, Timberlake has already started writing for a future album, a follow-up to his solo debut, "Justified," which sold an impressive 3 million copies.

And the future of 'N Sync? "(The others) are undecided right now," says the source. "They aren't really talking to (Justin). They haven't taken it so well." Another insider says the boys feel that Justin "strung them along until he was sure his solo career would work."

A rep for Timberlake says the singer will not comment on reports from unnamed sources. Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Jive, 'N Sync's label, simply says, "There's no album scheduled for this year from either 'N Sync, Justin Timberlake or JC Chasez. The group is still together."

It's bye bye bye to bachelorhood for just-married Joey Fatone.

The 'N Sync er swapped vows with longtime girlfriend Kelly Baldwin Thursday in a private ceremony at an undisclosed location on the East Coast.

The nuptials doubled as an 'N Sync reunion as all four of Fatone's bandmates, including Justin Timberlake, were in attendance.

Fatone, 27, is the first member of the band to wed.

The newlyweds, who live in Orlando, started dating in high school and have a three-year-old daughter together, but Fatone waited until last June to pop the question to Baldwin.

When he finally asked, the proposal was extravagant enough to make it worth the 10-year wait.

The popster installed a 20-foot-high, 56-foot-wide billboard outside of his home featuring a picture of San Francisco's Palace of Fine Arts, a place the twosome had always wanted to visit.

Fatone recalled the details of popping the question during a Late Late Show appearance with Craig Kilborn last year.

"So, we drove up, she saw the Palace of Fine Arts [billboard], I went on my knees, got all teary-eyed, and I just froze for a second," Fatone said. "So, I was like, 'Hey, will you marry me?' "

Baldwin was sufficiently impressed and agreed to the proposal.

'N Sync reunited last month for a charity basketball game and to discuss returning to the studio to make a comeback album. However, according to their label, Jive Records, nothing is in the works at this time.

Published reports have indicated that Timberlake has expressed reluctance to regroup with the band after achieving Grammy-winning, multiplatinum-selling success as a solo act.

While the fate of 'N Sync remains unclear, Fatone has been branching out into acting in recent years. He had a comic turn in 2002's breakout hit My Big Fat Greek Wedding and went on to a role in 2003's The Cooler with William H. Macy.

Fatone also tried his hand at theater, starring in Rent on Broadway, and most recently played Seymour in the stage revival of Little Shop of Horrors.

In other words, even if the popster's boy-band days are over, he's probably not tearin' up his heart about it.

Justin: ''N Sync Could Get Back Together'

Tuesday Feb 22, 2005 2:00pm EST

By Stephen M. Silverman

people.com

Justin Timberlake, who last year bailed on 'N Sync's reunion album, is now not ruling out a reunion with his former boy band.

"There's still a chance that 'N Sync could get back together," Timberlake, 24, tells TV's Extra. "There's a chance that Lance could still walk on the moon."

The latter comment refers to bandmate Lance Bass's longtime desire to fly into space. (Bass, 25, finished formal Russian Cosmonaut training but has, so far, never been able to raise the $20 million required for the ticket into the stratosphere. MTV News reports he's still gathering funds.)

Despite the seemingly sarcastic tone, Timberlake apparently wasn't being fresh about his comment about the group. Speaking of his onetime bandmates ? Bass, JC Chasez, Chris Kirkpatrick and Joey Fatone ? Timberlake said: "Our relationship goes way deeper than records. We're friends, those are my brothers."

Last July, the five sang the national anthem at a charity event in Miami, prompting talk that the guys would gather in a studio to begin work on a long-awaited new album.

But then, an insider told PEOPLE at the time, Timberlake told his bandmates that he wasn't interested in being a part of the next 'N Sync album. "Justin said he's not in the mood and doesn't think it will work," said the source at the time. "He doesn't want any part of it."

Can't stand that guy. I think he's the biggest ass-kissing p__y on the planet for how he sold Janet down the river after the Super Bowl. Everyone forgets that he's the one who tore off her bustier, but he ran around like a little girl apologizing and kissing NARAS' ass so he could get his Grammy on camera. Not to mention that he's cocky and arrogant like his pal Usher... Don't get me started on him either. LOL.

Lance Bass Mum on Possible 'N Sync Return

AP

The Backstreet Boys are back, but don't expect 'N Sync to be recording anything new anytime soon.

Lance Bass told The Associated Press that their upcoming greatest hits compilation "will have some new material on it." But the 26-year-old singer was tightlipped about whether 'N Sync would reunite for another album.

He was among the celebrities who gathered Saturday at the University of Mississippi for a benefit concert, "Mississippi Rising," for hurricane victims.

Bass said he's busy producing and acting, but has taken his activism for hurricane relief to Las Vegas. The singer said a celebrity auction through http://www.ubid.com will be held Oct. 15.

He also set the record straight on whether he attended Nicky Hilton's wedding last year to New York businessman Todd Andrew Meister.

Bass said he was in Las Vegas with the Hiltons but didn't attend the ceremony.

'N Sync's hits include "I Want You Back," "Bye Bye Bye" and "Gone."

Their greatest hits album is expected to be released Oct. 25.

NSYNC Reunion Could Still Happen

*NSYNC fans, there's still hope.

Though the group has been on hiatus since 2002, Chris Kirkpatrick says there is a still a chance that he and Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Lance Bass, and Joey Fatone will reunite.

"You never know what the future holds. Anything could happen," says Kirkpatrick, 38, who now fronts the pop/rock band Nigels 11. "We're all just being ourselves for a little while."

Still, he insists, "I think when the stars are aligned, the time is right, and all five of us have our heads on straight and know the direction we're going as a band, it'll eventually happen. If not, I know we'll be best friends forever."

The guys, in fact, still hang out together: Chasez co-wrote a Nigels 11 song with Kirkpatrick, who recently participated in Timberlake's charity golf tournament in Las Vegas. "Justin is a little better golfer than me," he says, adding with a laugh, "But I look way better."

Mini-Reunion

There will be another semi-*NSYNC reunion on Oct. 30, when Bass and Fatone – along with Ryan Cabrera and DJ White Shadow – will join Kirkpatrick in Orlando for a Halloween bash to benefit the Chris Kirkpatrick Foundation, which helps underprivileged kids.

The next day, Kirkpatrick will throw a Halloween Spooktacular for more than 100 homeless and foster children. "I grew up in an underprivileged home," says the singer. "I was blessed enough to have the band and all the things I've gotten through that, [so starting the foundation] was my way of saying, 'I know where I came from.'"

When it comes to his costume, "I'm still debating. I'm definitely not going as Chewbacca, 'cause it's Florida. It's going to be way too hot." A Lady Gaga-style lace face covering, perhaps? "As long as you're just talking masks I might be alright," he says. "I think Lady Gaga's outfits I might fall out of."

As for whether he'd ever slip into spandex and sequins for Dancing with the Stars, Kirkpatrick (who has appeared on VH1's Man Band and CMT's Gone Country 2) says he won't be following in Bass and Fatone's footsteps.

"That will never happen. That's not really my thing. Joey and Lance it were perfect for it – they're great dancers and real spunky." Besides, he says, "I've had two knee surgeries in the last three years. I just worry that I might buckle, literally, on stage."
