EDITOR'S ANTICS A REAL HOOT Page SixDID saucy Seventeen editrix Atoosa Rubenstein misbehave at an Armani event just a few months after she fired a staffer for acting inappropriately at a different Armani bash? Spies at the launch of Armani's new Blackcode fragrance a few weeks ago say Rubenstein "teetered into her seat" after apparently having a few drinks at the bar. "When an executive from L'Oreal began to speak about the fragrance launch, Atoosa let out a huge hoot and holler which was met with deafening silence and everyone turning around in their seats," says our snitch, an editor at a rival magazine. "Her behavior was totally insane and embarrassing." Rubenstein's outburst rankled some because, an insider claims, she recently fired a beauty editor for taking off her top at an Armani party where Peter Lindbergh was taking portraits. However, a Seventeen rep says Rubenstein did nothing inappropriate, and suspects our source has ulterior motives. "Atoosa was just cheering on her best friend, Armani exec Serge Jureidini, who was onstage introducing Duran Duran," the rep said. And the beauty editor "left Seventeen ? she wasn't fired."

FASHION FANTASY Page SixAFTER the real models ? Frederique van der Wal, Irina Pantaeva, Nikki Taylor, Janice Dickinson, Pat Cleveland and others ? had finished catwalking for Nicole by Nicole Miller at the Four Seasons Pool Room on Tuesday night, and as the adults were chatting and slurping down cocktails, two pretty little girls climbed up and took turns sashaying down the runway. One was Debbie Bancroft's daughter, Serena. The other was Patricia Duff's daughter, Caleigh, whose dad, Ron Perelman, could turn her into a Revlon model someday. Perelman controls the company.

DESIGNERS ARE LOVERS NO MORE
Page Six

FASHION superstars Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana , who have been sharing both their label and their bed for nearly 20 years, are no longer a couple. "On a professional level we are still together," Dolce told Italian daily Corriere della Sera yesterday, acknowledging their romantic relationship is at an end. "We work together wonderfully well; we have a very strong understanding," he said, adding that Gabbana will always be "the most important person of my life." Dolce, 46, and Gabbana, 42, have both been seeing other men, the paper reports, and now live in separate apartments in the same Milan building. Asked whether they were likely to ever get back together, Gabbana replied, "Never say never, but, really, I don't think so." Gabbana also said his mother was horrified when news that they were lovers as well as business partners was first reported in the press.

Good grief, Dolce & Gabbana broke up!?!?!

NOT WORTH IT?

IT wasn't late-arriving clothes that held up the shows during fashion week in London, but one strapping supermodel. Naomi Campbell
is being blamed for the more than one-hour delays at the Julien Macdonald and Gharani Strok shows. Talk was that the leggy stunner just didn't feel like working. "By the time her agent had talked her into coming, everyone had been waiting for her for ages," co-designer Nargess Gharani told the Irish Examiner. "I was thinking that she just wasn't worth the hassle." Campbell's rep, Rob Shuter said, "The incident at London Fashion Week was an isolated incident."

FACE WANTED

KELLY Gray, the iconic face of fashion company St. John, is on the verge of passing the baton on to another model
after starring in the ad campaigns of her family's company for 15 years. The blond Valkyrie will be in L.A. for Oscar week to meet with top agents hoping to find the next face of St. John. While there are no early front-runners, a spokeswoman said the company is looking for someone who will appeal to current customers and younger women they hope to cultivate.

pagesixsixsix.comLagerfeld is back, and he's ready for global domination. The bitchiest designer on the block, Uncle Karl is ready to propel his latest creation, Lagerfeld Gallery, into the same iconic level as his designs for Chanel."What I like is to be everywhere, to design collections everywhere and to have this kind of ubiquity in every sense of the word," Lagerfeld said yesterday, backstage after his autumn-winter runway show. Finally, a designer who is honest! Wethinks Wendy Pepper should get an internship at Uncler Karls Lagerfeld Gallery. Every good villain needs a henchman!Lagerfeld Gallery was sold to the Tommy Hilfiger Corporation in December. This is the first step in bringing Karl's clothes to the masses, and that includes fat people. Gasp!"We continue to want to run it as a very upscale couture business," said David Dyer, president and CEO of Tommy Hilfiger Corporation. Does this mean we can expect some rhinestone-encrusted jockstraps? Cuz you know, a girl's gotta work it out.

Page SixLATE REWARDFASHIONISTAS are gluttons for punishment. Marc Jacobs made the fashion crowd furious last month when he delayed the start of his New York Fashion Week show a whopping 90 minutes. Now his peers at the Council of Fashion Designers of America are rewarding him. He was nominated yesterday as women's wear designer of the year along with Ralph Rucci and Vera Wang. John Bartlett, Ralph Lauren and John Varvatos were nominated for menswear design and Jacobs, Michael Kors, Janis Savitt of M+J Savitt and Gerard Yosca were nominated for best accessories designer. The awards will be given out June 6 at the Public Library on Fifth Avenue.

people.comNAMED: The Council of Fashion Designers of America on Monday in New York honored Kate Moss, 31, who often appears nude in photographs, for her fashion sense, reports the Associated Press. Once waifish and so thin she sparked controversy for her look in Calvin Klein's early '90s ads, Moss has graduated in recent years to motherhood and becoming a style-setter for her classically eclectic British look.

SOHO COWPOKES

THE "Brokeback Mountain" gay cowboy craze seems to have inspired Marc Jacobs. The fashion demi-god is throwing a holiday hoedown Wednesday night at Skylight, an event space on Hudson and Spring streets. The spot will be transformed into a veritable dude ranch with hay bales covering the floors and security men dressed as Wild West sheriffs. Jacobs' underlings have reportedly been taking country line-dancing classes in preparation for the down-home soiree.
