FASHION superstars Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana , who have been sharing both their label and their bed for nearly 20 years, are no longer a couple. "On a professional level we are still together," Dolce told Italian daily Corriere della Sera yesterday, acknowledging their romantic relationship is at an end. "We work together wonderfully well; we have a very strong understanding," he said, adding that Gabbana will always be "the most important person of my life." Dolce, 46, and Gabbana, 42, have both been seeing other men, the paper reports, and now live in separate apartments in the same Milan building. Asked whether they were likely to ever get back together, Gabbana replied, "Never say never, but, really, I don't think so." Gabbana also said his mother was horrified when news that they were lovers as well as business partners was first reported in the press.
Good grief, Dolce & Gabbana broke up!?!?!

NOT WORTH IT?
IT wasn't late-arriving clothes that held up the shows during fashion week in London, but one strapping supermodel. Naomi Campbell is being blamed for the more than one-hour delays at the Julien Macdonald and Gharani Strok shows. Talk was that the leggy stunner just didn't feel like working. "By the time her agent had talked her into coming, everyone had been waiting for her for ages," co-designer Nargess Gharani told the Irish Examiner. "I was thinking that she just wasn't worth the hassle." Campbell's rep, Rob Shuter said, "The incident at London Fashion Week was an isolated incident."

The blond Valkyrie will be in L.A. for Oscar week to meet with top agents hoping to find the next face of St. John. While there are no early front-runners, a spokeswoman said the company is looking for someone who will appeal to current customers and younger women they hope to cultivate.

THE "Brokeback Mountain" gay cowboy craze seems to have inspired Marc Jacobs. The fashion demi-god is throwing a holiday hoedown Wednesday night at Skylight, an event space on Hudson and Spring streets. The spot will be transformed into a veritable dude ranch with hay bales covering the floors and security men dressed as Wild West sheriffs. Jacobs' underlings have reportedly been taking country line-dancing classes in preparation for the down-home soiree.
