Johnny Depp

I liked him (A LOT) in 21 Jump Street, and sure, I like the Pirates of the Caribbean movie. But he doesn't set my heart a-flutter these days. Or really, since 21 Jump Street.

But Rob Lowe? He still does.

DOUBLE VISION

Tom Cruise and Johnny Depp sport complementary smiles and sunglasses Monday while stepping out in support of producer Jerry Bruckheimer, who received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

For some reason, this picture scares the crap out of me.

Johnny Depp, Amber Heard Hold Hands During Stunning Moscow Appearance

Celebrity News June 28, 2013 AT 2:20PM By Justin Ravitz

usmagazine.com

Johnny Depp is no "lone" ranger these days. Promoting his big budget action flick (costarring Armie Hammer in the title role) in Moscow, Russia, the movie star, 50, headed to dinner holding hands with a jaw-dropping piece of arm candy: Amber Heard. Wearing a checked dark-grey three-piece suit with an open turquoise shirt and tinted sunglasses, and sporting his talked-about recent haircut, Depp held hands with his not-so-secret girlfriend. 27-year-old Heard was dressed to the nines for the outing in a satin ruby-toned halter ensemble, with her dirty-blonde hair up in a bun.

Although it's not quite a red carpet PDA moment, it's still a high-profile outing for the Rum Diaries costars, who met on the 2011 film. Depp and longtime love Vanessa Paradis announced their split last June -- following a long estrangement -- and sources confirmed Depp and Heard's relationship shortly thereafter. "They are so in love," a pal told Us back in the spring of the couple, who made a joint appearance at a star-packed Rolling Stones concert last month.

As for his split with French actress/singer Paradis, Depp opened up to Rolling Stone recently that it "wasn't easy" for anyone involved. "The last couple years have been a bit bumpy," Depp admitted. "At times, certainly unpleasant, but that's the nature of breakups, I guess, especially when there are kiddies involved." (He and Paradis, 40, share Lily-Rose, 14, and Jack, 11.)

"The trajectory of that relationship -- you play it out until it goes, one thing leads to another. So for whatever reason that ceases, it doesn't stop the fact that you care for that person, and they're the mother of your kids, and you'll always know each other, and you're always gonna be in each other's lives because of those kids," he reasoned. "You might as well make the best of it."

Amber Heard, Johnny Depp Are Engaged!

Celebrity News January 17, 2014 AT 12:35PM By Allison Takeda

usmagazine.com

Johnny Depp really did put a ring on it! After Amber Heard was spotted trying to hide some suspiciously flashy bling on her left ring finger earlier this week, fans wondered whether the actress had secretly gotten engaged to her Rum Diary costar. The famously private couple have yet to confirm or deny either way, but sources tell Us Weekly they're indeed planning to marry.

"The proposal happened a while ago," one insider tells Us. "She just didn't wear the ring." (Celebuzz reported news of an engagement on Thursday.)

The 50-year-old Into the Woods actor first met his bride-to-be on the set of their movie The Rum Diary. They confirmed their relationship in June 2012, shortly after Depp announced his split from longtime love Vanessa Paradis, with whom he has two kids, daughter Lily-Rose, 14, and son Jack, 11.

Since then, the typically private duo have been spotted all over the world together, from Moscow to Japan, where they took Depp's kids in July. More recently, on Saturday, Jan. 11, the duo appeared at the Art of Elysium's 7th Annual HEAVEN Gala in L.A., where they held hands and posed for pictures. They also attended the 2014 Golden Globe Awards on Jan. 12.

Later this year, the couple will reunite onscreen in London Fields, a crime thriller based on the 1989 novel of the same name by Martin Amis. Depp has a cameo on the movie, which also stars Billy Bob Thornton, Jim Sturgess, and Theo James.

Any bets on if they'll actually make it down the aisle??

I'm not sure I believe they are even engaged, but no...I don't think it will happen.

No point in putting in blind item forum:

ENTERTAINMENT LAWYER 01/16 **#5**

So, this A+ list mostly movie actor popped the question to his significant other. She said yes. The actor told her not to wear the ring for a few weeks or tell the world because he needed to tell his kids. They already hate the significant other with a passion so he wanted them to hear the news from him. The actor must not be familiar with the way his significant other craves fame and attention. She lives and breathes for people to notice her and doesn't care about anything else.

...The 27-year-old reportedly spent more than an hour inside hiding the potentially exciting news and waited for a valet driver to open her car door so she wouldn’t be forced to expose her hand...

He's charming in this admittedly fluffy clip from Ellen: http://www.toofab.com/2015/01/22/gwyneth-paltrow-johnny-depp-mordecai-the-ellen-degeneres-show-videos/. Actually, all four of them are .

That is what I choose to believe Johnny is like in real life. And I've always thought Paul Bettany was my future husband, he just doesn't know it yet. Gwen still annoys me, she says "holiday" instead of "vacation" like all the rest of us Americans. Boo. :D

Johnny Depp is supposedly marrying Amanda Heard next week on his private island in the Caribbean. My opinion of him has plummeted since he hooked up with her.

I am just irritated by men who live with a woman and have kids with her but don't marry. Then they dump her for a younger model and marry her. I know it may be the woman who chooses not to marry, but usually she wants to be a wife and live happily ever after. He likes to keep his options open.

I have just always found Johnny Depp to be very pretentious in interviews. Oh so elegant and suave. And greasy.

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard Lead Separate Lives: 'It's Not Surprising,' Source Says

BY MICHELE CORRISTON

04/20/2015 AT 02:30 PM EDT people.com

Johnny Depp and Amber Heardhave been spending more time apart than together ever since their winter wedding.

Depp, 51, and Heard, 28, tied the knot in intimate ceremony at his Los Angeles home Feb. 3, 2014, jetting off to his private island in the Bahamas for a more traditional celebration that weekend.

But a source tells PEOPLE their busy schedules cut the honeymoon period short: They only spent a few days together before Heard headed to London to shoot The Danish Girl and Depp returned to L.A. – and they haven't even been photographed together since the nuptials.

The source says the stars had issues even before saying "I do."

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's wedding

SPLASH NEWS ONLINE

"It's not surprising that they haven't spent much time together, because they seemed to have a lot of relationship problems in the months leading up to the wedding," the source says. "When the wedding finally happened in February, it had been postponed several times. ... Amber had her wedding dress for months before they settled on a wedding date."

And Depp's time in Australia for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales apparently also put a strain on the couple.

The actor arrived Down Under in February to shoot the fifth movie in the Disney franchise, but he hurt his finger while on location, forcing him to fly back home for surgery.

"As soon as Johnny arrived in Australia, he was partying hard," another insider tells PEOPLE. "After he got injured, no one was surprised. He didn't seem to care at all about filming and was all about partying."

Production was scheduled to resume Wednesday, but the insider says Depp never showed up – and there's been no sign of Heard by his side in L.A., either.

"The set has been told that as of Friday, Johnny was still recovering in Los Angeles," the insider says. "There are rumors on the set that he was in rehab. Everyone is anxiously waiting to see what will happen this week."

Calls to reps for Depp and Heard were not returned.

From Vanity Fair

We’re trying not to panic.

BY JULIE MILLER

You may want to sit down for this. Johnny Depp, the bohemian movie star of our teenage dreams, may have gone missing. Australia’s daily newspaper the Gold Coast Bulletin reports today that the Oscar nominee “failed to board his scheduled private charter flight from Los Angeles back to Australia” where he was due to resume filming Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.

People miss flights all the time, though! So why is Depp’s alleged airline absence noteworthy? Because both the Bulletin and now People are reporting that Depp has not alerted the Pirates of the Caribbean crew of his whereabouts and is essentially off the grid. Production on the mega-budget movie had already been halted once after the actor injured his hand in early March and flew back to the U.S. for surgery. Depp was scheduled to begin filming again, as his beloved Keith Richards–inspired character, Captain Jack Sparrow, this week. With Depp M.I.A. though, production is said to have quickly shuffled the shooting schedule so that the crew could film certain scenes without their franchise star present. So just where is Depp and what exactly is going on?

In the five years since he was proclaimed Hollywood’s highest-paid movie star, grossing an estimated $75 million in 2010, the frequent Tim Burton collaborator has fallen out of critical favor with projects like The Tourist, The Rum Diary, Dark Shadows, The Lone Ranger, and, most recently, the Gwyneth Paltrow co-starring box-office bomb Mortdecai. The Telegraph branded Depp’s most recent movie, which was intended as a comedy, as “psychotically unfunny.” The Guardian reported that Hollywood’s once eccentric charmer was “insufferable” in his attempt to bring Kyril Bonfiglioli’s comic novel to life. And The Hollywood Reporter did not mince words in its write-up, brutally opining that “this charmless farce ends up as another black mark on Depp's recent track record of patchy pet projects.”

Some of the actor’s offscreen antics have seemed similarly befuddling for one of Hollywood’s most respected leading men. In November, the actor made a bizarre appearance at the Hollywood Film Awards, cursing his way through a presenter speech. In January, Depp missed a press conference for Mortdecai and later blamed his absence on a chupacabra attack. The same month, a very tired-looking Depp talked to Jimmy Kimmel about working so incessantly that he had long lost count of his film projects.

In February, it seemed as though Depp was bound for personal happiness after marrying his girlfriend, Amber Heard, on his 45-acre island in the Bahamas. But in the two months of matrimony that followed, outlets have painted a stormy picture of this A-list pairing, with Page Six publishing a report on Monday detailing alleged marital “problems” between the newlyweds. People echoes this claim with its own report suggesting that the Depps had relationship issues even before their wedding and are essentially living separate lives. A source tells the glossy magazine that, before his hand injury, Depp was “partying hard” and “didn't seem to care at all about filming.” The insider also reports that there have been rumors on set that Depp disappeared to get treatment in rehab.

But maybe Depp’s decision to not board his flight back to the Pirates franchise did not have to do with his rocky career patch or his personal life. Maybe our overly-accessorized movie darling just needed a break, and is holed up in some hotel room, ordering room service and binge-watching Orange Is the New Black and the other Netflix glories he missed out on while being a Movie Star. And after grossing $8 billion at the global box office over a three-decade career, doesn’t Depp deserve at least that?
