Les Miserables Musical Tour

Recommended Posts

In 2010, when everyone was moaning on the financial crisis there were some theater productions that maintained their success identities. Les Miserables is one of the only musical productions that completed its 25 years of successful running last year and performed its live silver jubilee concert on October 3, 2010 at the O2 Arena, London. A DVD of the 25th anniversary concert will be released by blue-ray on Feb 22, 2011. The longest running Broadway production features the international stars including Alfie Boe as Jean Valjean, Nick Jonas as Marius, Norm Lewis as Javert, Matt Lucas as Thénardier, Lea Salonga as Fantine, Jenny Galloway as Madame Thénardier and Katie Hall as Cosette as a part of its 25th anniversary concert cast.

Les Mis, a production by Cameron Mackintosh and based on a novel by Alain Boublil became the first ever show in the Broadway history in 2010 that was having three original productions in the same city i.e. London. This is not something that comes handy; the fact is that it has a long history of hard work and creativity behind the curtains. The eighth times Tony Awards winning musical production has been experienced by over 60 people across the world. The officials of the Les Miserables production surprised its audience on its Silver Jubilee by giving it a complete new makeover. The US fans at the Academy of Music, Philadelphia were the first in US to see the changes on Wednesday and the reviews are very positive. There is no change in the original story, in characters or in the evergreen score but changes are in the set design as well as some background visual digital paintings and drawings are also added.

January is a busy month for Les Miserables production as they have a lot performances lined up in many cities of the United States. The hit musical is currently running in Philly where it will run through January 15. Les Miserables will arrive at The Brindley Theatre on Tuesday, January 18 and will run through Saturday, January 22. Les Mis’s 25th anniversary tour will run through September 25, 2011 including cities Fort Lauderdale, Chicago, Baltimore, Detroit, Cleveland, Omaha and Nashville among others.
