    What are you reading?

I was given We Need to Talk About Kevin, but I'd just reread Kite Flyer and finally gotten around to A Thousand Splendid Suns (Khaled Hosseni), so I wanted something easier. Lucky for me, Harry Potter was just around the corner, so I read a lot of Mugglenet commentaries to fill in the gaps

    Ashlee Simpson

How hilarious would this be if this were the answer to the 'Singer's Boyfriend knocks up Sister' BI? They could probably pass it off as Pete Wentz's kid. Both him and John Mayer are fugly!

    America Ferrera

From BBC Online: Ugly Betty's $10m smile insured America Ferrera, star of US TV show Ugly Betty, has had her smile insured for $10m (£5m). Insurance market Lloyds of London said the policy was taken out by a tooth product company which is working with the actress on a US charity campaign. Ferrera, 23, plays Betty Suarez - an ugly duckling with braces on her teeth - who works at a snobby New York fashion magazine. She said she was "flattered" to have had her smile insured. A spokesman for Lloyds said they had 300 years of experience of unusual insurance requests, including Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richard's fingers and Marlene Dietrich's legs. Award winner One underwriter was once even approached to insure an un-named celebrity's chest hair, the company said. Ferrara said: "It's very flattering to have my smile insured for $10 million, it's not something that I ever imagined happening." Ferrara won best TV comedy actress and the show best comedy at the 2007 Golden Globes. ================================================================== I'd also love to know whose chest-hair was supposed to be insured. I'm guessing Tom Jones or David Hasslehoff circa Baywatch?

    Paul & Stella McCartney clan

Heather Mills blasted by fans 2007-03-21 (BANG) -Heather Mills has been attacked by US TV viewers after just one appearance on 'Dancing With The Stars'. Heather had agreed to go on the TV show in a bid to win over the American public following her bitter split from Sir Paul McCartney. But her efforts have already backfired as the show's website message-boards have been bombarded with scathing comments and insults. One viewer, using the screen name Mytgr8, said: "She made a fool of herself in almost every shot on the show - immature and asinine. She obviously is going all out to get people to like her and it is backfiring big time." Another, BR666, wrote: "If she was any type of class act, she wouldn't have tried to malign the name of a beloved cultural icon. She's scum and no amount of dancing will ever change that." Viewers have not had the chance to vote off their least favourite contestant yet - the first eliminations are next week. However, a campaign is underway to make Heather the first to be kicked off. Heather tried to impress the judges by ending her dance routine with a high kick using her artificial leg. Her efforts won mixed praise from the judges, though one watcher commented, "she looked as wooden as her leg". Since splitting from Beatles legend Paul, the former model - who lost her leg in a motorbike accident - has received death threats. © BANG Media International

Ahhh! No offense to 'Dancing' fans, but I now understand why she thinks that show's a good thing for her: If it can work wonders for Jerry Springer (who, IMHO, because of his line of work resides at the very bottom of the bottom-feeders), maybe she thinks it can do a thing or two for her!

I.Hate.Her. With a passion. But dammit, Dancing with the Stars scored a coup with that one. I have never EVER deigned to watch the show, (didn't even know it existed til maybe last year) but now I'm actually struggling between boycotting and watching to see her make a fool of her gold-digging ass. Does the audience boo people on that show? Do they have a Simon Cowell-esque judge who will shoot her down??
