Robin Williams is at rehab facility again ...but his people tell TMZ it's NOT because he fell off the wagon.

Williams is at Hazelden Addiction Treatment Center near Lindstrom, Minnesota.

Robin is in a part of the facility called The Lodge -- there are lots of fancy descriptions, but it's essentially a program to maintain long-term sobriety.

We're told Robin will be staying for several weeks.

The pic (above) was taken Sunday at a Dairy Queen ... walking distance from Hazelden.

Robin has struggled with addiction for decades. He cold turkeyed cocaine and alcohol in the early 1980s and was sober for 20 years ... then fell off the wagon. He went to rehab in 2006.

Robin's rep tells TMZ, "After working back-to-back projects, Robin is simply taking the opportunity to fine-tune and focus on his continued commitment, of which he remains extremely proud."

Robin Williams has committed suicide.

The comedian killed himself in Tiburon, in Northern California.

According to the Marin County Sheriff's Office ... authorities found William's body inside his home. They say he was found unresponsive.

He was unconscious and not breathing and the coroner suspects suicide due to asphyxia.

Williams was last seen alive at his house at 10 PM Sunday night.

Robin went back to rehab last month to focus on his sobriety. We're told alcohol was an issue.

Williams struggled with cocaine and alcohol abuse in the early '80s but was sober for 20 years.

Robin's wife, Susan Schneider, says, "This morning, I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings. I am utterly heartbroken."

Robin's last tweet was on July 31 ... wishing his daughter Zelda Rae a happy 25th birthday. He posted a #tbt instagram pic of himself holding her as a child.

Williams was 63.

I think this is a very vivid memory of Robin Williams to many of us of a certain age and, while he's no Abe Lincoln, the imagery resonates today.

O Captain! My Captain! our fearful trip is done;

The ship has weather'd every rack, the prize we sought is won;

The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,

While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring:

But O heart! heart! heart!

O the bleeding drops of red,

Where on the deck my Captain lies,

Fallen cold and dead.

O Captain! My Captain! rise up and hear the bells;

Rise upfor you the flag is flungfor you the bugle trills;

For you bouquets and ribbon'd wreathsfor you the shores a-crowding;

For you they call, the swaying mass, their eager faces turning;

Here captain! dear father!

This arm beneath your head;

It is some dream that on the deck,

You've fallen cold and dead.

My Captain does not answer, his lips are pale and still;

My father does not feel my arm, he has no pulse nor will;

The ship is anchor'd safe and sound, its voyage closed and done;

From fearful trip, the victor ship, comes in with object won;

Exult, O shores, and ring, O bells!

But I, with mournful tread,

Walk the deck my captain lies,

Fallen cold and dead.

I'm torn - Good Morning Vietnam or Dead Poets as my favorites. Which is odd because I typically prefer comedy above all else, and really enjoyed his comedies, but there's something about those roles....

(I had the cassette tape soundtrack for Good Morning Vietnam and listened to it throughout high school, so I'm sure that has something to do with my enduring love for the movie)

Crap now I'm crying at work

My daughter heard the news while she was driving home and she felt the same way. For some reason she dwelt on this celebrity death more than others. I think its because he made us laugh so hard that it never occurred to us that inside he was crying his heart out.

For whatever reason the tears of a clown are rarely seen.

Fuck,....now I am crying at work.
