Les Miserables, the most popular musical show at the Broadway platform is running in its 25th year of performance that makes it the longest running show in the Broadway musical history. Les Miserables musical is based on a novel of the same name written by Victor Hugo that is regarded as one of the most popular novels of the 19th century. Les Mis musical incorporates all the elements that were part of the original story such as poverty, struggle, love, cheat, friendship, care and sacrifices. Les Miz productions are known by their powerful performances making it a household name across the globe.

The heart touching musical has been delighting the audiences for over two decades but this year brought some extra excitement for the production when Les Miserables celebrated its Silver Jubilee on October 3, 2010 and on the same day musical got the honor to run three productions in the same city and also nominated in 5 Whatsonstage.com Awards categories for the three productions including best actor in a musical, Best Ensemble Performance, Best Musical Revival, Best West End Show and Theatre Event of the Year. Whatsonstage.com will announce the winners on their live concert at Sunday 20 February 2011 at the West End’s Prince of Wales Theatre. The original Les Miserables production runs in the London's West End where Les Miz got the feat of playing its ten-thousandth performances in January 2010.

Les Miserables is on an undisputed path to family entertainment that makes you enjoy every minute and bit of the show once you buy the Les Miserables tickets and settle down on your seats. If sources are to be believed it has brought a mass fortune to its musical composer Claude-Michel Schonberg and the proud production makes an incredible use of the goodwill. According to news four Les Miserables actors including Alfie Boe, Colm Wilkinson, John Owen-Jones and Simon Bowman have tied up to raise money for the British troops. All of these actors have performed the role of Jean Valjean at some point. Les Miserables has already released its “Bring Him Home” song version to musical stores via iTunes; this version was performed at the O2 Arena this year at the musical’s 25th anniversary celebration ceremony. All the money generated from iTunes will be used to help the British troops.

As per latest updates Alfie Boe will rejoin the Les Miserables for Jean Valjean role in early June 2011 at the Queen's Theatre.

fab musical, love the songs, but its a pity

the guys did nt put all that fab talent into a musical about the real revolution

the one of 1789 with Marie Antoinette....

 

Maybe some equally talented guys might take up that theme for a future musical ?
