Harassment scandal(s) in Hollywood

Recommended Posts

Damn every single day I cross my fingers that one of my faves isn't accused.

Honestly, I havent recovered from Cosby. A few months before his shit hit the fan I had taken my (very young then) kids to see him live. My son listened to his comedy routines at bedtime and knew them by heart. I think the only one that could hit me harder would be Mr. Rogers or Jimmy Carter.

A part of me thinks it's sad it all only now comes to light. Spacey, Weinstein etc. I feel like we already knew. I just rummaged in old blinds from dear Ted. This one just seems to have the same MO, and everybody already suspected Spacey: http://www.blinditemsexposed.com/search/label/Dick%20Wadd

Also, if you read to the end of the article, it discusses how Denise Richards caught Sheen with porn featuring what appeared to be underaged males and females, prompting her to take the kids from him. I'm pretty sure that's something we've speculated thanks to blind items but had never seen confirmed. (At least, this is the first time I'm seeing a major publication comment so directly about it.)

Fucking scumbag.

I tried to go in and pull up any blinds that might relate to this new set of revelations about Charlie. I bumped a few, but then realized that there were probably at LEAST half a dozen that fit this category and just gave up. I feel like this was all pretty out there, some of it even in print, it just hadnt really blown up in the mainstream. Im so glad its out in the open now. Some of those blinds that are now probably him were seriously messed up and yet hes still not really paying the price.

Im jaded on these stories. No doubt these men and women were predatory and totally took advantage of their situation and power. It happened every day, maybe not always in a sexual manner, but other ways too.

I am jaded, in that it is still an opportunistic industry. And some of these women/men did back then what they needed to do to stay relevant, are they now too?

We have said over and over, we knew about Weinstein and Spacey. So are people taking situations that women men encounter in bars and events every day, making it more to put them in the limelight? And those accused have no way to fight back in this environment without sounding like a complete douche.

I am in no way trying to blame the victims. I worry that so many people trying to jump on this bandwagon for a couple of seconds of fame is belittling the victims experience.

Actor Anthony Edwards who played Dr. Mark Green on the ER show is the newest person to claim that he is a victim of molestation.

God bless you and him always!!!

One positive outcome maybe - Lainey reporting that Gal Gadot refusing to make Wonder Woman 2 if Brett Ratnor is still attached to the film....

Change like that - hit him in the wallet - is what we need. Oprah standing up and saying she refuses to work with assholes - and she has the power to actually follow through. We need more women (yep, I'm saying it) to break up the goddamn circles of power to have any ongoing change. These industries (ALL) need to be more inclusive.

Because Hollywood (and the music industries and modeling and so on) are ALL opportunistic - there are powerful & rich men who give access to young, vulnerable, often naive women and men and often require exchanges of....whatever.....to grant that access.

And for all the people who aren't coming forward now to claim harassment or molestation or rape but still participated in system - I feel bad for them too.

Ratner out at Wonder Woman 2: https://pagesix.com/2017/11/15/wonder-woman-confirms-disgraced-brett-ratner-is-out-of-sequel/

(FYI, I watched Wonder Woman on a flight to Seattle last week and was SOBBING with exhultation in some of the scenes. OK, maybe I had a few too many glasses of wine, but still - I had NO IDEA that movie would affect me so strongly. I kept telling my husband I wanted Wonder Woman cuffs now....)

It's very dark and was hard to see on the plane, so I told husband we need to watch on the big screen at home...He hasn't seen it yet.

My kids really liked it. I liked it until the men arrived. I guess I just felt as if there was so much CGI that I was practically watching an animated fim. I had heard such glowing reviews of it, and frankly I was disappointed. More badass women would have been better.

My daughters and I came out of the theater looking to kick some tail - we were so energized with Girl Power!

I thought the beginning was extremely slow - the backstory was way too long.

My husband and I were both disappointed by Wonder Woman. I expected to be incredibly moved because so many people loved it and said it made them cry and I felt nothing. I found it all very predictable. I'm glad Brett Ratner is out though.
