Shrek and Fiona became the most popular animated characters and their on-screen couple and chemistry also got the incredible response soon after the Shrek series first movie was released in 2001. The musical adaption of the Academy Award winner animated movie was “Shrek the Musical” that also got the same reception when Broadway production hit the theater in 2008. The mesmerizing performances of the musical stars grab the hearts of audience when they see the live act of friendship between an ogre named Shrek and donkey, the love between the odd looking Shrek and princess Fiona even when she turns into an Ogress and the Dragon’s loyalty for his friends. Shrek the Musical after closing in January 2010 after 12 months of running is currently on its North American tour that opened in July 2010.

Shrek the Musical is a fully entertainment show that was the most expensive Broadway production in 2008 and now it stands on number two with a production budget of around $60 million followed by $65 million spider-man musical production. The audience who come to attend the Shrek musical included both children and adults who love this romantic comedy based on the book of the same name by William Steig.

Shrek is on the US tour and is playing in San Francisco at the Orpheum Theatre where the 2 hours 35 minutes show will run through January 2, 2011. Shrek production will be playing in all major cities of US next year including Tempe, Los Angeles, San Diego, New Orleans, Memphis, Atlanta, Kansas City, Tampa, Orlando, Pittsburgh and Buffalo among others.

Shrek Musical brings for you the musical comedy that is hard to resist and that makes it popular outside American geographic as well. The outstanding outcast of Shrek will hit London at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane by May 2011 and the sale of Shrek tickets is already on with initial booking until 19 February 2012. Shrek’s UK musical production cast includes film, television and theatre star Nigel Lindsay as Shrek, BBC1's EastEnders Nigel Harman as Lord Farquaad, ITV1's Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden as Princess Fiona famous actor and comedian Richard Blackwood as Donkey.

Shrek the Musical is coming to Australia by 2012 as confirmed by Mr. Frost who owns the rights for the Austrian Shrek musical production that is being promised to the biggest ever show in Australia, but the producers still have to find the available theaters.
