Pitt: 'Living In Venice Has Been Lovely'

Brad Pitt has revealed that he loves spending time in Venice.

The actor, who moved to Italy with partner Angelina Jolie and six children Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne and Knox while she filmed The Tourist with Johnny Depp, rented out a canalside 15th century palazzo during their stay.

In London for the Kick-Ass premiere last night, Pitt told Us Magazine that life in Italy over the past month has been "lovely".

Since arriving in the city, the Jolie-Pitts have been photographed on boat rides, eating gelato and reuniting with her estranged father Jon Voight.

The ugly truth about Angelina Jolie

A“In my opinion, the real Angelina is self-centered and a control freak. She has no patience at all. She doesn’t do things out of the kindness of her heart. And she’s totally psycho,” Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt’s former bodyguard Bill tells In Touch exclusively.

In an exclusive interview with In Touch, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s former bodyguard describes what he claims to be a woman whose erratic behavior, yelling fits and unreasonable demands deeply hurt not only staff members — but especially Brad and their six children. “Angelina has a public and a private persona,” claims the former bodyguard, who for security reasons chooses only to be identified by his first name, Bill. “In my opinion, the real Angelina is self-centered and a control freak. She has no patience at all. She doesn’t do things out of the kindness of her heart. And she’s totally psycho.” While Brad is laid-back and patient with his kids’ often wild behavior, Angelina is anything but. “She screams and yells a lot, then walks away,” Bill says, explaining that Angelina would often “disappear into her suite for hours,” leaving staffers — and Brad — to deal with her children. “She would punish them with silence,” says Bill, adding, “I think she could be abusive at times in a mental way.” If the children were to get upset by her withholding behavior, he says, Angelina didn’t seem to care. “She is not moved by tears,” he explains. Still more disturbing, he recalls, Angelina has a “quirky habit” of “giggling when one of her kids would start crying.”

The bodyguard, who was working for Brad and Angelina at the start of their relationship, remembers “a lot of laughing and fun” and “spontaneous sex” back then. Now, though, the couple often sleeps in separate bedrooms, and that honeymoon phase seems to be ancient history. Even when they aren’t actively arguing, Bill says, Angelina “nitpicks” Brad — criticizing him constantly. “She says things like, ‘Are you going to wear that shirt again today?’ and tells him he’s like another one of the kids.” According to Bill, Brad has come to dread Angelina’s phone calls. “She’ll call him from the set to interrogate him,” Bill explains. “His face goes white, and he just stares at his feet.” When Angelina’s yelling gets to be too much, Brad will “put her on speaker and walk away from the phone,” Bill reveals. “Angelina will hang up and continue calling until one of the staff picks up.”

Angelina Jolie ‘Backtracks on Promise to Spend More Time with Kids’

ANGELINA Jolie has broken her promise to partner Brad Pitt.

The actress had previously told Pitt that she would be spending more time with the couple’s six children — but she has now had a change of heart after growing tired with doing the “mommy thing”.

“Angie’s whole idea was to allow Brad time to focus on his work while she did her mommy thing,” a source divulged. “But she has tired of her domestic lifestyle much sooner than she expected and has pushed her career goals back to the top of her list and priorities.

“Angie has since turned on the burners and started chasing after every project in sight.

“In fact, she landed so many roles that Brad found himself having to pull back on his own plans. And he’s not too happy about that!

“After Brad told Angie she was too self-centered, she fired back and told him to stay out of her business. After that, they barely talked for days.”

Recent reports claimed Brad and Angie haven’t split because they know their relationship is good for their careers.

“The relationship is a total sham,” a source said. “They both have other people on the side.

“They only stay together for the kids and for the sake of continuing to build their empire.”

oh well...... you know we all have private sides and public sides! Just saying...no making any comment toward Angie but I know we all do. Private areas such as home is where you can pout, be tired and grumpy and grouchy and say and act unlike we do in public!! So basically Angie is just like the rest of us!

Pitt, Jolie Back Shiloh's Tomboy Tendency

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are reportedly supportive of their daughter's desire to dress as a boy.

Shiloh's request last month to cut her long blonde locks into a short crop was granted by her parents, while the youngster has referred to herself as 'John' for the past eight months.

The Daily Mail reports that Jolie shops for the three-year-old in the boys' sections of shops, explaining photographs which show her wearing a tie, fedora, bowler hats, hoodies and baggy jeans.

Shiloh is among Pitt and Jolie's growing brood of children, which was raised to six in 2008 with the arrival of twins Knox and Vivienne.

Jolie recently said that she would like to have more, adding that she and Pitt have "a plan".

"There are moments when we look at everyone around the dinner table, and it's just crazy, but our family is the greatest thing we've done in our lives," she said.

The Jennifer Syndrome

Two stars, one first name. How Aniston and Lopez lost the fame game.

By Ramin Setoodeh | NEWSWEEK

Published Apr 9, 2010

Pop quiz: Bennifer. Raise your hand if you still remember what that means. Before there was Brangelina or TomKat, there was Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, the first superstar couple of the Internet age. Starting in the summer of 2002 and continuing for an endless 18 months, you couldn't go anywhere without seeing pictures of the doting pair: the magazine covers, the 6.1-carat Harry Winston engagement ring, the cheesy Dateline interview, the canceled wedding, and finally the breakup. Both Ben and Jen blamed the media for their demise, but it turns out it wasn't just a soulmate they were mourning. It's no coincidence that neither of them has been able to open a movie since then. We'd seen too much of them, and for free. Why would anybody pay to watch them fall in love, or anything else?

The Back-up Plan is the name of Lopez's first film in four years, and the title also feels like a commentary on her career. She was on track to be in a different league—she even had her own superstar nickname, J. Lo—before the paparazzi dimmed her star wattage. The same thing happened to another Jennifer in theaters right now, America's favorite Friend: Jennifer Aniston. Collectively, these two Jennifers became a cautionary tale—how overexposure in the press can harm your career. It wasn't really their fault. At the time, Hollywood stardom started to be diluted by the march of reality-TV stars, who are only too happy to pick fights in New Jersey bars or trot out their eight kids and their doomed marriage if it means getting on the cover of Us Weekly. At the same time, the old-fashioned celebrities took far greater control of their images. They started to tweet and make their own homemade YouTube videos, sharing the mundane details of their private lives and thus diminishing the paparazzi's influence. In large part, Lopez and Aniston were casualties of a sort of Hollywood perestroika: the democratization of fame.

Some people like to pick on the Jennifers for making bad career choices (one word: Gigli), but that really misses the point. Just as grades don't matter when it comesto electing a high-school homecoming queen, the public never turns on America's sweetheart for producing junk. Just count up all the terrible movies from Julia Roberts, Drew Barrymore, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Sandra Bullock—who, as Gawker pointed out last year, has some of the worst-reviewed films of the decade (and we still have her back against Jesse James). The issue for both Aniston and Lopez isn't the movies they've made; it's that we're sick of them.

OK, so the bad movies aren't exactly helping either. Angelina Jolie has escaped the Jennifer Syndrome because she's smart enough to pick some projects, such as A Mighty Heart, that make her stretch and require us to see her as someone else. Aniston especially seems stuck not only in romantic comedies but in romances that keep reminding us how single and lonely she is—Love Happens, He’s Just Not That Into You, and now The Bounty Hunter. (Even worse, she keeps dating, and breaking up with, her costars—and John Mayer.) The funny thing is, both Aniston and Lopez are talented actors. Onscreen, they can both be likable, sexy, and funny, and can radiate heat with the right costar (and sometimes even with the wrong one). Watch Lopez in Selenaand Out of Sight, or Aniston in The Good Girl. They're delightful. The problem is, that was then.

PHOTO: Knox Jolie-Pitt Poses with Grandparents

Tuesday April 13, 2010 04:40 PM EDT

people.com

The view was so nice, he checked it out twice! Like something out of a children's book, young world-traveler Knox Jolie-Pitt was spotted waving from his perch high atop Venice two afternoons this week.

On Tuesday the 1½-year-old was out on the family's apartment balcony with grandma Jane Pitt, who, with Brad's dad William, has been visiting while Angelina Jolie films The Tourist.

It was just Sunday that little Knox struck a similar pose from the arms of grandpa. With no sign of his fair-haired twin sister Vivienne, maybe Knox has already learned to charm his way to some one-on-one time with doting grandparents!

Angelina Jolie Is Not Pregnant

By Mary Green

Wednesday April 14, 2010 12:55 PM EDT

people.com

Six is still enough for the Jolie-Pitts.

A source close to Angelina Jolie calls a new report claiming the actress is three-months pregnant with her seventh child "totally false."

Right now, it's all about quality time between the Jolie-Pitt kids and their grandparents. Brad's parents are staying with the family in Venice, while Angelina continues to shoot The Tourist with Johnny Depp.

On Tuesday, Knox, 1½, took his daily balcony break, this time with Brad's mom, Jane, to watch the boats in the canal. The day before, he stepped out with his grandpa, William.

Another day, another fun, family outing!

With mom Angelina Jolie busy shooting The Tourist, her children have been enjoying some quality time with their grandparents. Earlier in the week, William and Jane Pitt were spotted with their littlest grandchild, Knox, 1½.

And on Friday, the two were out, strolling around Venice, Italy, again – this time with their older grandkids: Maddox, 8½, Pax, 6, Zahara, 5, and Shiloh, 3½, who led the way in an adorable sailor outfit. Equally fashionable? Sister Zahara, who held onto a Hello Kitty clutch.

First Look: Unauthorized Angelina Jolie Book Cover

Monday April 19, 2010 12:00 PM EDT

people.com

It could be anyone pictured on the cover of Andrew Morton's latest celebrity tell-all, Angelina: An Unauthorized Biography, save for the trademark "know your rights" tattoo across Angelina Jolie's back.

A first look at the jacket of the controversial new book shows Jolie, 34, photographed from behind – with only the back of her head and upper torso visible. It's a fitting perspective since the biography was done without her approval.

The tome, published by St. Martin's Press, is due out Aug. 3. Will you add it to your summer reading list?

I don't know about that. For all that I don't like her, she seems like a pretty open person about stuff like that. I think if it were true, she would be frank with it and become the biggest advocate for DS she could be (especially as it would get her more press). I also think she would not allow Sarah Palin to be the figurehead for any movement she could champion.

I think the tragic reports will amount to the gossip that has been going around about their looks and nothing more than that.

Down syndrome seems highly unlikely.

They're fraternal twins (one's a boy, one's a girl, right?) so that's two different eggs. Angelina is ~32, so her odds of having 1 egg with a triple chromosome is slim --> ovulating 2 such eggs would be astronomically small.

And, the two kids look like each other and they look like Shiloh. It's just a weird mix of genetics -- pouty lips coupled to fat baby cheeks.

correct couleur. also, she would have had assesment during pregnancy and known if there was a genetic problem. In which case if they had the kids they'd realize at some point they might have to address the issue particuarly if it was obvious

Since they are, obviously, from two differnt eggs one could have downs syndrome and one not. Which is way more likely than both of them having it. I have two friends one in her late 20's and one mid 30's who had children with downs. It happens. The one closer to Brad in the picture looks closer to having downs facial features than the one closer to AJ. But I don't see them as being the kind of parents to try and hide it. And their biological children have such interesting facial features, and the hats, make it difficult to say. Plus not all downs children have the same features and some have more noticablle than others.

I know she seems young to have a DS child. But, the highest number of down syndome babies are born to younger women. Older women are at a greater risk, but have more genetic testing. Younger women typically don't do a the blood test, CVS test or amnio. So that's why they have a higher incidence of DS babies actually being born.
