Netflix

Recommended Posts

I can't stream netflix at home (live in the country, satellite internet, super expensive data & slow download speeds) BUT I really wanted to watch Gilmore Girls so I am doing the free month trial and watching at work this week (slow work week!!!) I watched Gilmore Girls, then Wet Hot Summer: first day of camp. Am now watching The Crown. Wow.

I just watched the Graham Norton episode that Clare Foy and Matt Smith were on - they were cute. I didn't love Matt Smith as Doctor Who (I will never love anyone as much as David Tennant) but I have to say I am loving him as Prince Phillip!!!

You can watch some of Graham Norton's shows on You Tube. They also have several best of shows.

I can't wait to see The Crown. Love watching PBS -The Durrells of Corfu and Poldark (Aidan Turner is yummy). Excellent shows!!

I'm on a business trip now (last night) and trying to catch up on season 2 of the Crown. I did a second free month - now that Netflix allows downloads, I might stay signed up for a bit. I can use data at work to download....

Netflix produced the Crown, so all of seasons 1 and 2 are there. I got the free membership Dec 2016 to watch season 1 (at work during lunch ;-) and am doing the freebie again for season 2

Has anyone else been following along with the Netflix content problem?  I find the entire thing so interesting.  Disney is going to take over the world.

I'm so freaking annoyed by all these new streaming companies!!! I will not stream all of them, pay all of them etc. I'm gonna be back to watching network only soon.....

And while we're venting, I'm pretty annoyed by the whole "news as a slideshow" bit.  Just give me the GD list and be done with it because I generally stop caring before I hit "4 out of X".  I really miss the days when life was not defined by clicks and likes and influencers did not exist.

*shakes clenched fist to the sky while screaming "Get off my lawn!!!"

:tantrum:

ETA: Not blaming you as the messenger, Princess, but this is clearly as issue that grinds my gears.

Wouldn’t it be great if one big company (ies) could negotiate with all the streaming services to provide one subscription to all of them.

Such a great idea ??‍♀️??

I mean isn’t this what we are trying to get away from?

We're definitely en route to packaging streaming services, which will end us up at cable monopolies all over again, right?

[we don't get cable. We did upgrade to more data, so occasionally we do watch a netflix or amazon prime movie on a weekend - but we won't be able to binge 3 seasons of a show in one weekend. Guess we're old/rural - they don't care about our demographic.....]

Oh, we also started watching Dead To Me last weekend - I was saving it for home (we upgraded our internet when they launched a 2nd satellite last year...) Christina Applegate is on husband's freebie however many list ? I think we've watched 3 or 4 episodes - pretty good, interesting twists....

I liked this, watched entire season.  Looking forward to next season.

Check out "Black Mirror" too.  Some of them are really crazy!  All are stand-alone episodes.

I think I want to go to Russian Doll next, but will try to remember Black Mirror. Most reviews or mentions I've seen have it looking a little too fantasy or dystopian for me? I could be wrong?!

Black Mirror is like the modern Twilight Zone.  Some of my favorites were "Nosedive", "USS Callister” and "White Bear".  Usually a big twist during each one.  Sometimes I can guess, but not always.
