Tim McGraw Pens a Children's Book

Country music star Tim McGraw is releasing his first children's book this fall titled My Little Girl.

The Grammy-award winner, who has three daughters with wife Faith Hill, penned the book with singer-songwriter Tom Douglas, according to the book's publisher Thomas Nelson. The duo also wrote McGraw's hit song of the same title.

The book is about a dad and his daughter who, together with their dog, spend "an ordinary turned extraordinary day together," says the publisher. It will hit bookshelves in October, with a foreward by Faith Hill.

McGraw: "I'd Be Dead Without Hill"

Country star TIM MCGRAW credits his wife FAITH HILL with saving his life - because he's convinced he would have drunk himself to death had they not met.

The Live Like You Were Dying singer wed hitmaker Hill in 1996 and the couple has three daughters together.

But MCGraw confesses he would be an alcoholic mess, if not already dead, if he hadn't settled down when he did because his rock n' roll lifestyle was spiralling out of control.

He tells People magazine, "Right before I got married, I was a full-fledged rock star... (If I hadn't met Hill), I'd be dead...

"I would have partied too hard. I might have caught myself somewhere along the way and put the brakes on. I don't know if I would have gone (to rehab); I don't think I could have been talked into that during those times.

"Faith saved my life in a lot of ways - from myself more than anything. I can go down a dark road sometimes, when you're not feeling good about yourself, and she pulls me out. My wife makes me a better man."

MCGraw will celebrate two years of sobriety early next year (10) after kicking the bottle and his occasional penchant for cigarettes for good for the sake of his family.

He says, "I was never a smoker. When I drank, I smoked a little bit. I don't smoke at all now and haven't since I quit drinking.

"I'm not a moderate kind of guy. My last drink was probably a year and nine months ago. I didn't do a 12-step programme (rehab); I just stopped... It was the right thing to do."

McGraw collapsed on stage at Dublin concert last night. Wife Hill came out and said he was dehydrated and she made the decision not to let him come back out.

Dehydration?! Still using that excuse?!

I was shocked she was with him. As much as we have heard about these two I figured it was all but a marriage of convenience at this point.

I hope it is a virus or bug. I think they both have had their fair share of demons. I am still not positive what happened with the birth of their youngest, but I think it shook them both. I feel that was their turnaround moment.

ETA: looks like they are on tour with each other. That makes better sense while she was there. I am still rooting for them.... with much skepticism

They've said he exercises too much and will be cutting back at the gym....And too much flying (due to touring) left him dehydrated. Ok then.....

Lainey says she's working on finding the gossip here ;-)
