...One of the most memorable bits of advice Brad Pitt ever received came from none other than ex Gwyneth Paltrow's late father, director Bruce Paltrow. Though Gwyneth and Pitt broke up more than 15 years ago, back in 1997, the Moneyball actor tells the June/July issue of Esquire that Bruce's words still ring true even now.

The Hollywood icon, for instance, makes it a point never to call himself an "actor," preferring to use the term "self-employed" instead to describe his line of work.

"I learned that from Bruce Paltrow," he told the magazine. "I always liked it. It's a humble way to describe what we do." And, the 49-year-old actor added, if a stranger were to ask him what he does, he'd say, "Well, I'd be very Midwest about it, very Missouri. I'd say, 'This and that.' I'd say, 'I'm a dad, just like you.'"

Pitt and the Goop founder dated for two-and-a-half years back in the mid 1990s, and were even engaged at one point, but she ultimately called off the engagement and the pair went their separate ways.

"My kind of internal stuff really tripped up that whole relationship," she told Diane Sawyer in a Primetime Thursday interview back in 2003. "And I felt really responsible, and also like I was the architect of my own misery …I just made a big mess out of it."

"DISTURBING ALLEGATIONS FOLLOWING ANGELINA'S MASTECTOMY ANNOUNCEMENT"

According to writer Mike Adams:

Angelina Jolie is part of a clever corporate scheme to protect billions in BRCA gene patents, and to influence a Supreme Court decision.

Angelina Jolie's announcement of undergoing a double mastectomy (surgically removing both breasts) even though she had no breast cancer is not innocent or spontaneous, The "heroic choice" that has been portrayed in the mainstream media.

Natural News has learned it all coincides with a well-timed for-profit corporate P.R. campaign that has been planned for months and just happens to coincide with the upcoming U.S. Supreme Court decision on the viability of the BRCA1 patent.

This is the investigation the mainstream media refuses to touch. Here, I explain the corporate financial ties, investors, mergers, human gene patents, lawsuits, medical fear mongering and the trillions of dollars that are at stake here.

" This is about protecting trillions in profits through the deployment of carefully-crafted public relations campaigns designed to manipulate the public opinion of women.

The signs were all there from the beginning of the scheme: Angelina Jolie's highly polished and obviously corporate-written op-ed piece at the New York Times, the carefully-crafted talking points invoking "choice" as a politically-charged keyword,

But the smoking gun is the fact that Angelina Jolie's seemingly spontaneous announcement magically appeared on the cover of People Magazine this week -- a magazine that is usually finalized for publication three weeks before it appears on newsstands. That cover, not surprisingly, uses the same language found in the NYT op-ed piece: "HER BRAVE CHOICE" and "This was the right thing to do." The flowery, pro-choice language is not a coincidence.

What this proves is that Angelina's Jolie's announcement was a well-planned corporate P.R. campaign with carefully-crafted messages designed to influence public opinion. But what could Jolie be seeking to influence?

...how about trillions of dollars in corporate profits?

Upcoming U.S. Supreme Court decision to rule on patent viability for BRCA1 gene

Angelina Jolie's announcement and all its carefully-crafted language had four notable immediate impacts:

1) It caused women everywhere to be terrified of breast cancer through the publishing of false statistics that drove fear into the hearts of anyone with breasts. (See below for explanation.)

2) It caused women to rush out and seek BRCA1 gene testing procedures. These tests just happen to be patented by a for-profit corporation called "Myriad Genetics." Because of this patent, BRCA1 tests can cost $3,000-$4,000 each. The testing alone is a multi-billion-dollar market, but only if the patent is upheld in an upcoming Supreme Court decision (see below).

3) It caused the stock price of Myriad Genetics (MYGN) to skyrocket to a 52-week high. "Myriad's stock closed up 3% Tuesday, following the publication of the New York Times op-ed," wrote Marketwatch.com.

4) It drove public opinion to influence the upcoming U.S. Supreme Court decision to rule in favor of corporate ownership of human genes.

I read yesterday (or the day before) that her aunt just died of breast cancer. The article mentioned that Jon Voight visited before her passing, so I'm wondering if it was his sister. If so, that means she has it on both sides of her family. Her mom, mother's mom (I think), and now her aunt have all died of it.

I am sorry, but this is not passing the sniff test with me.

1) If any woman out there was not already aware of breast cancer and its impact, which is difficult for me to comprehend, given the ubiquitous pink campaigns, I do not see how Angelina Jolie's essay would be the instrument of fear for them. If they are that oblivious, I doubt very, very much that they read the New York Times -- or People, for that matter. The BRCA1 gene is not common and is responsible for a very small number of cases of breast cancer.

2) Really? In this economy, women are "rushing out" to demand a test that costs thousands of dollars?? I know of no one who has done that in the wake of the NYT piece - and I do know women who carry the BRCA1 gene, who either opted for prophylactic mastectomy or follow a rigorous screening regimen. A woman wealthy enough to afford this testing most likely already had it done.

3) Yes, MYGN saw a nice jump in stock price, this is correct. That is due to speculation.

4) This just makes no sense at all. In fact, I have seen the opposite effect, namely people clamoring against patenting of human genes. My inbox and Facebook feed were full of outcry. I have read a lot of commentary about how Angelina Jolie is able to afford testing and treatment that most women cannot afford. I have seen nothing suggesting that more corporate control over our bodies is a good thing.

I really do not care about Angelina Jolie; I neither like her nor dislike her. I think I have seen one movie in which she had a role. Is it possible that her essay was part of an elaborate PR scheme to hide the fact that she had plastic surgery? It does not make sense to me, but I will admit it is possible. But the idea that she is part of a trillion-dollar corporate conspiracy? That sounds more like the plot of the next Avengers movie to me.

I saw that this morning on TV. Let's say I'm wrong and she does have the gene. She didn't HAVE to go bigger.

I think it is great we can change the things we don't like about ourselves, I am not an au natural woman - heck I lighten my 11 year old's hair because she wants to be blonde (Honestly - she really needs to be blonde). But AJ is too sanctimonious for the public to give her a free ride on this.....

people, love conspiracies. it makes them feel like there is a reason for everything and that in discovering the "truth" they are in control, and part of an important elite. (How many conspiracy theorists terribly successful elsewhere in life and/or aren't narcissists?) The internet facilitates this shit. One site I saw had AJ as a friggin illuminati. I mean it just gives so much fuel to the crazy.

I interviewed a doctor for a major chairmans position. There is a whole site on the interwebs about how this person isnt really a doctor. Why? He led a medical team who treated a well known personage and someone actually has created this incredible "documentation" site (including facial recognition software) to "prove" he's really an actor and the whole thing is some "false flag" shenanigans. I mean its friggin insane. Anyway most of then the truth is pretty staightforwards and most conspiracies don't exist as such. they're pretty nutty. My guess? AJ has this gene, she did what she felt was right for her, her timing may correspond to Brads new movie or it may not and it did bring more attention to the issue and isn't likely going to cause the end of the world for anyway. Your doctor is there to answer the question "does this make sense" in your particular case. I am no AJ fan by a long shot. She is a borderline personality disorder as best as i can tell and people should run fast and far from her in their personal life. Outside of that, not much to see here.

It dawned on me to say this, now that we are planning our second trip to New Orleans this summer.

As good as Brad Pitt's intentions appear to be, the houses he commissioned for the lower ninth ward in New Orleans are nothing short of butt-ugly. It was shocking to see them, to say the least. When we were there last summer, the adoption rate of the new homes wasn't impressive, and all I could think of while I was looking at them was "vanity project." I know Brad fancies himself quite the architectual connoisseur.... but come on.

Don't get me wrong, I am impressed that he thought to do this for them, but it would have been nice if he at least had the 13 architectual firms ATTEMPT to capture the flavor of the old neighborhood. There are some homes remaining, and even in their beat up condition, have more charm than even one of the pre-fab trailer homes.

Ok, I'll admit, I'm going to look. I won't buy, but I'm certainly going to pick the long line at the grocery store just this once. I can't believe we haven't talked about this yet - it's been over a week now and we LOVE gossip! I had to go to page 5 to even find their thread!

From People magazine online

http://www.people.com/article/angelina-jolie-brad-pitt-wedding-photos

When Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie went about planning their big day, they didn't have to look far to find the perfect wedding planners: their six children.

The intimate Aug. 23 ceremony attended by just 20 friends and family members was held in the chapel of Château Miraval, the family's estate in the French village of Correns. The wedding including exclusive photos of the ceremony, Jolie's unique dress (decorated with her children's artwork!) and the entire family's celebration is featured in this week's issue of PEOPLE, in conjunction with Hello! magazine internationally.

Each child had a key role to play: Eldest sons Maddox, 13, and Pax, 10, walked their mom down the aisle; flower girls Zahara, 9, and Vivienne, 6, tossed petals gathered from the garden; and Shiloh, 8, and Knox, 6, served as ring bearers. The kids also helped write their parents' vows. And Pax baked the cake!

"It was important to us that the day was relaxed and full of laughter," Pitt, 50, and Jolie, 39, tell PEOPLE. "It was such a special day to share with our children and a very happy time for our family."

Keep up with Brad Pitt in the pages of PEOPLE Magazine by subscribing now.

Even Jolie's dress was an expression of her kids' creativity: Luigi Massi, the master tailor at Atelier Versace, sewed dozens of designs from her children's drawings into the dress and veil.

"Luigi is like family to me and I couldn't imagine anyone else making this dress," says Jolie. "He knows and cares for the children and it was great fun putting it together."

Pitt wore a suit from his closet with a tie borrowed from one of his sons because Pitt forgot to pack his. Zahara's dress was designed by family friend Adama Kebe. Maddox, Pax, Shiloh, and Knox wore black suits (Shiloh's included shorts and a top hat), and Vivienne wore a white dress from her closet. Jeweler Robert Procop, who designed Jolie's engagement ring, created the couple's wedding bands.

For Brad and Angelina's complete wedding album, all the details of their big day and more of the couple's interview, pick up this week's issue of PEOPLE, on newsstands Wednesday.

I like the idea of the veil re: the kids' drawings but the bodice of the dress is not what I would have expected from Angie.

I would have liked to see a white leather pantsuit, but whatever. I like Mommy & Philanthropist Angie but her fashion choices are soo boring now.

That being said, congrats to the happy couple and blah blah blah :D

Something like the Ralph Lauren pantsuit Robin WRight wore to the Emmys? Though without a back and her boobs, I don't think Angie would have looked nearly as good as Robin did!

Angelina Jolie Walked Down the Aisle to Brad Pitt Humming "Here Comes the Bride,"
Kids Picked Their Duties, Plus More Wedding Details
People.com
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt shared more details from their top-secret wedding in the new issue of Hello! magazine, where they revealed that the kids picked their duties, and the groom hummed the "Wedding March" for his bride as she walked down the aisle.

Angelina Jolie walked down the aisle on Saturday, Aug. 23, to the tune of her husband Brad Pitt humming the "Wedding March." The couple shared the details behind their super-secret wedding in the latest issue of the UK's Hello! magazine, including any potential honeymoon plans and how their six kids were actively involved in planning the ceremony.

"We wanted it to be intimate and it was," the newlyweds told the mag of their ceremony, which was held in a chapel on their Southern French estate, Chateau Miraval. "It was important to us that the day was relaxed and full of laughter. It was such a special day to share with our children and a very happy time for our family."

Indeed, the Jolie-Pitt kids -- Maddox, 13, Pax, 10, Zahara, 9, Shiloh, 8, and 6-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox -- each had a say on his/her involvement in the nondenominational ceremony. "They picked their clothes and their duties," Brangelina told Hello! "They all took it very seriously. Knox practiced carrying coins and acorns on his little pillow before he got the ring." (Later, Hello! learned that one of the kids dropped a ring.)

As Us Weekly confirmed last Thursday, Aug. 28, Jolie, 39, walked down the aisle with her eldest sons Maddox and Pax. Daughters Zahara and Vivienne "threw petals gathered from the garden," their spokesperson told Us, while second oldest daughter Shiloh and youngest son Knox were ring bearers.

According to the mag, when the A-listers kissed at the altar, Shiloh had to stifle herself with the ring cushion to stop laughing out loud.

"They are our best friends and the people closest to us in our lives," the couple told Hello! of their children.

The bride even wanted her kids to make a mark on her custom-designed gown by Atelier Versace -- literally. "I wanted the kids to be a part of everything including the dress, because that's our family," Jolie told Hello! of her white silk-satin gown embroidered with drawings from her six kids. "That represents the way we live out life together." Hilariously, one illustration on Jolie's veil read "Buttock Fatock."

Even after the ceremony, the newlyweds enjoyed a cake baked by Pax. To celebrate the joyous occasion, the family ate a home-cooked provincial-style meal on the grounds of their estate. Pitt's parents, William and Jane, as well as his brother Doug and sister Julie, were all present to toast the couple.

As for any potential honeymoon plans? "We are making a film [by the Sea] about an unhappily married couple. It's not lost on us what a strange honeymoon it is!" Brangelina joked of their film, currently being shot in Malta. As exclusively reported by Us, the two share some "crazy sex scenes" in the movie.

"It's a wonderful feeling to be married," the couple concluded. "The children are so happy."

A little too cutsie for me :vomit2: , I wonder if they did all this for the kids and didn't bother getting a real wedding license so it's not legal??

I'm with you Princess. Not sure I believe this story they've put out there. But hey, what do I know? I don't buy the Clooney wedding either.

They've always said they were only getting married because it was important to the kids, that they wanted their parents to be married like everyone else. I could see her picking out that dress because it's what the kids wanted - a big princess dress. It almost sounds like the family just had a wedding play date.

Thought they got a marriage license in CA and had a judge from CA perform the ceremony? No clue how that would be legal (French civil ceremonies have a residency requirement though I imagine they've met that....)

Interesting comment on her gown from a writer at the NY Post. My kind of snarky because I do think parents are over indulgent!

http://nypost.com/2014/09/02/angelinas-wedding-gown-a-gross-display-of-parenting-run-amok/

With “buttock fattock” inexplicably embroidered on the rear, Jolie’s dress is Exhibit A in the case of over indulgent parents gone mad.

Agree re: over-indulgence.

We get it. You love your kids. Most people love their kids, unless they are truly awful scum. Now get back to being hot, Ange. :monkey:

I think there's a big difference between loving your kids and letting your kids run & dictate your life. One is healthy. The other - not so much.

But what do I know. I'm happily childless by choice.

Hope the movie they're working on in Malta is good!

My take on the kids is that they use them whenever needed to "fill in the blanks" when they have nothing else to say about their relationship. To me, this "wedding" was too much about what the kids want/do/say/think and too little about the bride and groom. I've seen the commentary that "Brad hummed Here Comes The Bride" when she was walking down the aisle. Bullshit. Oh, and "Brad gasped" when he lifted the veil. Wtf? Not buying it, not for a second. It's weird. It sounds scripted to feed the masses what they think we want to hear. I feel like I'm being manipulated to think certain things about their wedding and their life overall and it's just not ringing true to me.

So, she is either not getting roles, or not getting the roles she wants because of hollywood ageism or the fact that she looks like a mannequin.

ps: which I've just been informed is an insult to all mannequins everywhere. To all manequins everywhere: I apologize that Angelina Jolie looks like the person hiding under the stairs.
